5 comments about Sony HWSBTA2W - Bluetooth wireless audio transmitter.
  1. At first i was sceptical in buying this , but went ahead and did, bought this to hook up to my LCD TV, was happy i did , works great , really like the auto off feature it has built in , easy setup , you only need to buy an extra cable if going to RCA jack on TV , very small.
The user manual says to keep it about 30ft away from any wireless routers, but i have mine less than 20ft away from a NetGear RangeMax 108mbs , and 1ft from a PS3 and there is absolutely no interference. Bought this to go with the CARDO S2 headset.
**Some user claim it was hard to setup , just follow the instructions, pairing is done by pressing the SET ID button before turning the unit on.**

  2. Hooked up without a hitch to my Lenovo T61 laptop. Sounded great at first, but then the problems started. The audio slows down and speeds up! Enough as to make it very annoying and essentially unusable, as it changes the pitch of the whole song. This is inexcusable for an audio product! Hopefully the seller will allow me to return the item.

  3. This thing could not be worse. I'm using it to connect to my stereo receiver which is all of 5 feet away, and have it set up as headphones on my Mac Book Pro running Leopard.

First, it can't connect to the device unless I run the pairing routine EVERY TIME, even though it's listed as paired in Bluetooth Assistant.

When it does manage to connect, the reception is awful. I think I've gotten about 10 seconds max of uninterrupted audio...most of the time it drops out every 2 or 3 seconds.

I've moved it closer and turned off all non-essential wireless services to absolutely no effect. I have no 2.4gHz devices in the house that would interfere, just a microwave oven 20 feet and three walls away.

Once I figure out how to put it back in the packaging it's going back asap. Avoid at all costs.

  4. This is a neat device and would be great if it worked.

I had everything setup and it worked great for about 10 minutes, then it started cutting in and out and speeding up the music like some other reviewers had noted. It's almost like it overheats and stops working.

  5. I've read through some of the other reviews and find a few of them shouldn't really be targeted at this particular unit. If you are a potential buyer, then there is a good chance you are familiar with Bluetooth, yet may not know much about the A2DP profile.

Bluetooth, is by far, not a flawless means of communication; for that matter, neither wired or wireless formats are flawless. This must be kept in mind when choosing which is right for you.

Bluetooth has quite a few limitations: range, compatibility between versions, and profile support, to name a few. A2DP is a fairly new profile, so there are hiccups and bumps along the path.

A2DP stands for Advanced Audio Distribution Profile. It is able to stream stereo sound from one device to another. In order for it to work properly (or at all), both devices you are attempting to pair together (ie: you want this unit to work with your music phone or laptop) must support A2DP. The Sony HWSBTA2W supports A2DP and no other profile! It does not support HSP or HFP! Which means it will not work with a headset or hands free Bluetooth device; you cannot answer your phone with it. It will, however work with Bluetooth headphones that support A2DP.

Again, this is streaming music from one device to another. If you have it connected to a computer, your Bluetooth Stack (program that manages your computer's resources to communicate to and from other Bluetooth devices) will be running in the background continuously. If another program you are running prioritizes higher than your Bluetooth Stack, you may hear stutters, distortion or speed changes to your music. There is also a delay, for the music is being encoded at one end and decoded back to analog signal at the other end. If you ask me, I wouldn't use it to watch a movie.

Believe it or not, all this information and more is in the instruction manual. I'm sure if you search on Sony's support page, you will be able to download a .pdf of the manual.

Personally, I used this in conjunction with a Sony XA-300 auxiliary selector connected to my car stereo to stream music from my phone. If attempting to power this unit with a car adapter, I highly recommend the Sony DCC-E345 or Sony equivalent. I couldn't find my power adapter as fast as I would have liked and ran out to a local Radio Shack and bought one of theirs. It powered the HWSBTA2W but with a substantial amount of Bluetooth radio noise. Luckily, I was later able to find my DCC-E345 after a few hours of searching. I then powered it off that and the noise was gone! I guess you get what you pay for (then again, I paid $12.99 for the Sony one and $25.00 for the Radio Shack one!).

All in all, a great unit and will continue to buy Sony products because of it!

  1. I recently purchased these phones to use as an extra pair, and am very impressed with the sound. I usually use a pair of Shure e3c, and I would compare these phones to those very favorably.

I paid significantly less for these than the Shure.

If you have never used these style of in ear phones, you are in for a treat, they really block out all external noise, creating a great soundstage. The benefit of this technology, is that you can listen to audio at lower sound levels, which has obvious benefits to otological health.

Overall, I am impressed with the quality of this product, especially considering the price.

  2. I am really happy with my ear buds - they work great and are very comfortable. The three sizes of covers would help them fit anyone comfortably I believe. The price was great and as usual Amazon's service was good. I'm no audiophile or anything but I'm very happy with these.

  3. I bought these earbuds mainly to get a pair that fit in my ears. Regular earbuds will not stay in my ears. These come with 3 different size buds and the small fits well.

I have listened only to audiobooks so far and the sound is good. These earbuds block outside noise very well. I have been able to turn the volume down to 4 or 5. They even block out kitchen noises (I wear them while I cook) like running water and the spice grinder. I tried to listen to them while using the food processor and I could hear the reader if I turned the volume up a bit, but the noise was finally too distracting.

One thing I have noticed a couple of times was after I listened to a book for an hour or more I started to get a headache. It was more than likely a coincidence and not related to the earbuds. If it is related to the earbuds, I think it probably is due to the type of earbuds (internal) they are and not related to the brand.

  4. First off, the only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 stars is because I had switch out the Sennheiser bud tips for my old Sony MDR-EX71s. The Sennheiser tips created an uncomfortable suction inside my ear canal.
Sound is awesome. I'd equate the bass to having a subwoofer in your mouth...but the full range is no punk either. The cord is just long enough to have your player in pocket and comfortably wear the 300s; preferably left pocket since that's the short side of the line. Any more movement than a casual walk and you may want to invest in a short extension, or clip your player somewhere above waist level.

Listening to KMFDM - "Juke Joint Jezebel" @ half volume

  5. The ear buds are excellent; they provide high quality sound and are very comfortable. My only complaint is that the wire is a little awkward, but the buds are still completely worth every penny (and maybe a little more).

  1. When you're talking digital, if you have connection, it's as good as it gets. I got connection, so I've got high definition. Why would I want to spend several times this price for the same picture?

  2. Good quality / resolution.

connected PC to LCD TV and couldnt be happier. Movies are true HD.

pc: Asus Maximus Formula, Nvidia HD video 9800gtx, Intel Q6600
    tv: Toshiba Regza U 42" 720p LCD

  3. this cable is no capable of doing what it's suppose to do, so don't waste your money on it. You will not be able to watch HD movies nor HD tv using this cable is not good enough to connect anything to a HDTV, it sucks.

  1. earphones did not work, I called and they immediately sent me an RMA and shipped replacement earphones, which work fine.

  2. Since this product uses rf to transmit, the connection is lost constantly around areas where electronic devices are used. Product claimed a range of 100 feet. I have not been able to go beyond 15 feet. The product does allow me to move around my personal office quite well which was my main reason for purchasing it, But I am unable to walk into another room with it. Also, when it loses its signal it creates a very annoying static sound in my ears. I gave this product 2 stars because it mostly does what I need, but it doesn't live up to its claims.

  3. Sylvania SYL-WH930GB Wireless Headphones (Black)Bought these so I could watch movies at night when my wife's sleeping. They work great with no excuse for low price. I have not lost reception during fridge raiding or pit stops. I'm buying two more sets for when the grandkids are over and we're watching movies. Sound quality is as good as my 42" Sanyo HD.

  4. It's not very solid mechanically, and it makes noise when the signal fades. If you go away or if you move your head too much the noise can be loud and annoying. Other than that it works fine, may be used as wired headphone. I have seen other products like this for half the price in department stores. For those the ratio cost/benefits should be better.

5 comments about Portable Sound Lab 06BWB01 Handheld Speakers for your iPod (Black).
  1. I would like it better if it could charge my Ipod at the same time that it played it. If the batteries lasted longer and if it had an adapter so I sould plug it into a wall. It would also be nice if there was a gauge to let me know the batteries were getting low so I wouldn't have to guess or have the music start to sound distorted.

  2. Great sound comes from this compact little system. Your ipod fits on one side and can be adjusted thru the clear plastic front of the speakers. It fits snuggly and securely with the help of the foam strips and velcro strap. We've taken it camping and also just on the backyard deck. I've got to download more songs on my ipod as we use it more and more often. Great price too.

  3. This is a great product. I can put my ipod inside, put it in my purse and go, that simple. Sure wish I had found this sooner. It will come in handy on future vacations.

  4. These speakers are amazingly great for their size. They're certainly not Bose quality, but the sound vs. size is wonderful. The only drawback I see is that the Ipod Touch does not fit in the unit. The Ipod Classic is the largest sized Ipod that will fit.

  5. I purchased the Sound Lab for a teenagers birthday present. She was overjoyed with the performace. The volume and clarity is great. Had the table top vibrating like crazy. The case appears to be very durable. Easy to use. A must for the active i-pod teenager. Or just anyone who is active.

  1. I just got this modem from Amazon a few minutes ago, plugged it into my 2 g surf Asus Eee (which does NOT have a dial-up modem) Asus Eee PC 2G Surf (7" Screen, 800 MHz Intel Celeron Processor, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB Hard Drive, Linux Preloaded) Sky Blue set up number to dial, account number and password, and it works GREAT! No Linux commands were required... it just works! I am typing this review on the Eee through the US Robotics modem. Highly recommended for any Eee user that needs dial-up.

Update 7/29/08: I am typing this update on a MacBookApple MacBook MB403LL/A 13.3" Laptop (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive) White the modem works fine with it as well!

  2. Bought this modem to access the internet with my Asus Eee (which did not come with an internal modem for dial up). It comes with software to install on windows and mac, but for linux-just plug n play! Good quality-it does the job! Highly recommend it!

  3. worked OK but I was concerned when I got a warning saying reccommend do not install becasue cerifcate was not certified by microsoft! I figured since I bought it from Ebay and company was well known I take chance and install anyway! I did and it seems to work fine

  1. I am an average do it yourselfer and asked my buddy to help me hold the tv in place while I placed it on the mount. The actual drilling in the stud and screwing the mount on took about 30 mins...Great product and all the necessary hardware was there...

  2. This mount is very sturdy! It is very easy to mount on the wall and came with all the hardware I needed to hang my 46" Samsung HDTV. Once on the TV is on the mount, it can be slid about 6" to the left or right in case it is not perfectly centered. Great mount for a great price!

  3. I used this to mount my new 52" Samsung LCD HDTV and it worked perfectly. Very sturdy construction and quality materials. Saved around $100 buying from Amazon too!

  4. Excellent product. Easy installation of 50 inch Panasonic plasma TV to sheet rock wall with wood studs behind.

  5. I ordered this mount after quite a bit of time doing research online. The mount fit my TV perfectly and is exactly what we were seeking. When mounted, you can't see any of the cables from the back of the tv (wife's requirement) and the tv is flush with the wall. Mounting was easy, although a little time consuming. I highly recommend this mount.

  1. So far I have not had any issues with this converter. I have been using it for about 2 months now and am very satisfied. I only have my keyboard hooked to it at this point, but like the option of being able to hook a mouse to it too if I need it in the future. The converter was easy to install and has been reliable. No funny issues with my keyboard responding improperly.

  2. This converter does not work to connect a Logitech USB wireless mouse on a PS/2 KVM switch. Someone said it did work, but it doesn't. I wish I wouldn't have wasted money on this.

  3. I use this cable with a new Dell PowerEdge SC440 server and an old Apex Outlook KVM. Works great - no problem at all.

  4. Have not had a chance to use it with a PS/2 keyboard but works with a PS/2 mouse perfectly. I am using it with a Dell Inspiron laptop.

  5. Gave this to my father, who is not very techno. He seems to have got it working with no trouble.

  1. If you are going to a foreign country and need long lasting (but non-rechargable) batteries for your digital camera (assuming it uses standard batteries), get a few packs of lithium batteries from Amazon. Yes, they are somewhat more expensive but they will last MUCH MUCH longer than any comparable non-rechargable battery. Remember, if you use rechargable batteries overseas you will need a compatible plug-in charger for the country you are in. That can be a real hassle. Lithium batteries also have unbelievably long storage times...many many years!

  2. The best battery that you can ever find!if you simply calculate, you wil understand that it's cheaper than Alkaline!

  3. I love these batteries!

Something to consider tho, is that a Warehouse Club 48-pack of regular 2800ma alkalines are about the same price. So for low-current applications where maximum life, cold weather performance, weight, etc. isn't critical, there are much more cost-effective choices.

AND speaking of critical, I had a little digital safe at the office (for postage stamps, the checkbook, spare car keys, and such) that ran on AA's. I used it for years on regular alkalines and replaced them every 3 months or so. When the alkalines got low, it would still weakly open 5 or 10 times to give me plenty of time to change them. When I switched to a set of these lithiums (to reduce how often I had to do the replacement procedure) they lasted just over twice as long, BUT when they died, they were totally gone-ola. I think they're way better at putting out full voltage to the end - which is ordinarily what you want out of a battery, unless you lock the manual-opening keys in the safe itself!

  4. Excellent product........even better than advertised.

One problem...I have total faith in Amazon best pricing, and since I
bought from you, found several local establishments, Ex. Walgreen's that are selling it for much less with no shipping and handling charges. I will be very careful to cost compare in the future.

  5. i just came back from doing a national parks and canyons tour and i took close to 900 pictures with these batteries. i have an Oly SP 570UZ and these batteries are great for this type of snap and shoot camera. highly recommend! only one thing, they tend to get a bit warm so i took them out once i knew i wasn't going to take anymore pics.

  1. Shipping was really really quick & the product was in perfect condition. We are very happy w/the camera.

  2. This is excellent starter camera. gave it 3 stars instead of 5 because it doesn't have a dock in which to place the camer for download and recharge. having to extract the battery for recharge, and dealing with the inserting of cable into the camera for download is not only a pain, but seems to lend itself to breakage. I bought this for my aunt to get her into digital world, however she needs help with the downloading and recharging, as her fingers aren't as nimble as they used to be. my casio has a dock and i love it; don't know why all cameras don't have this feature. in closing, CASIO is simply excellent in my book....good quality for reasonable price, and ease of use. looking forward to their new version with higher zoom capacity....when the prices come down a little.

  3. Ordered this camera for my GFs sister and it shipped very fast. Only thing is that the battery won't stay charged and the camera freezes when you go to record a video. Not the sellers fault just a bad job by the company.

  4. The most wonderful feature of this camera is its almost-total absence of that horrible lag time between the push of the shutter release and the actual taking of the photo! For a change I don't miss those pictures of my grandchildren because a camera takes too long to actually take the desired shot! This camera is notable for that one feature alone but besides that, it is easy to take along in a pocket, has plenty of extra features and takes great pictures. What more could I want in a camera!

  5. My first digital camera was a Casio Exilim Z4, which I loved. It was very easy to use, took very crisp close-up (macro) photos and had a dock for re-charging. Then, I dropped it. So, I bought this Z9 and have been trying and trying to get some clean close-up detailed photos, but no luck.
For me, it's a waste of money and I will be looking for another camera.
