5 comments about Sony RM-V310 Universal Remote Control.
  1. I have had a number of multi-brand remotes, some even cheaper than this one, and this is the worst. It suggests it can do much more than it can. Not only can it not program my VCR, it would not even allow me to change channels by entering the channel number. I had to go through each one. Control of my audio components was horrible. It would do some things, but not other more important ones. I tried all suggested codes for my devices, and went through the instructions exhaustively, but nothing helped. Also, there is no backlighting. This may work OK for some brands, but not for my major brand components. The only thing it worked well for was its own brand, Sony. You can do much better with practically any other cheap remote.

  2. I purchased this remote to replace my lost Sony DVD remote control and to consolidate all my remote controls to one. It works with my DVD player and Sharp TV. I thought I could use it for my Direct TV/TIVO satellite receiver/DVR combo. There was no code available for any satellite receiver/DVR combo. I still have to use 2 remote controls. Had I known, I would not have purchased this remote.

  3. If you are using a Comcast cable box, forget this product. It doesn't work.

  4. I have all name brand electronics... all of which were listed in the code number listing for this remote. Panasonic plasma TV, Panasonic audio receiver, Philips DVD Player, and Scientific Atlanta digital cable box. This remote wouldn't operate a single function on ANY of them. Wouldn't even power them on/off. Before you go assuming I just don't know what I'm doing, I've programmed several such remotes, and done extensive work with home, car, and office electronics. I ended up getting a philips remote for much less that controlled all of them with no problem at all.

  5. My biggest complaint is the twinview button. It will get me into that mode, but there is no button to switch it off!!! I tried turning off the tv to get rid of twinview, nope. I tried going into the menu and looked for a reset function, nope. Maybe if I unplugged it and let it sit for awhile? Luckily I have the original remote, otherwise there doesn't seem to be a way to switch it off the twinview without it.

Sony's implementation is terrible. They could have made a twinview on/off toggle button rather than having a dedicated off button on the original remote. This would have save them the cost of needing a dedicated "off" button---Actually, it might be a "regular view" button---well, they did save the cost of not having it on this remote and screwing those of us that need this button.

So,my best option is to get a remote that has a learning/programable feature so that I can waste a button to make a dedicated button to button off the twinview button.

5 comments about Belkin F3H982-10 10' HDdb15M/HDdb15M VGA Monitor Replacement Cable with RGB/Coax TP.
  1. I was looking for a monitor cable to use with my new Avocent KVM switch and hoped that a more expensive cable would offer better signal quality. I bought this Belkin cable and a 6 ft Tripp Lite (that was a tenth of the cost) and there was a huge difference in image quality. I'm buying another one of these to replace the Tripp Lite as I'm extremely picky about image quality.

I'm using the Avocent Switchview USB in combination with a Dell 1801FP Ultrasharp LCD panel and the the Belkin cable offers a pristine image. The cheaper Tripp Lite cable I have has what I would describe as a ghosting effect on the image where black text on a white background looks just a touch smeared. If you are picky about image quality, this cable is worth it. Disappointingly enough, the Trip Lite appeared to be of good quality -- gold plated connections, ferrite core at one end, and low gauge (thick) wires -- but I guess appearances aren't everything.

  2. VGA is a great way to connect your LCD T.V. or monitor to your computer, and in some cases, the only way. If you want the best image possible, you must buy a good cable, and this is one of the best. It is heavy duty, long enough for just about any job, and gives a clear and crisp image. I personally use it to connect my Media Center PC to a 32' Olevia LCD Monitor, and it looks at least three times better than my old junker cable. I have played HD content, PC games, SD content, and of course PC programs, and they all look very good. You can't really get much better unless you use HDMI or DVI.

    Hope you enjoy your cable!

  3. I dont see any reason not to score fine, it does what it says it will... ive connected my PC to my 32" LCD and it works fine...

  4. I had purchased a 10ft Gold Series monitor extension cable but it had ghosting issues when plugged into a 19" Monitor and a KVM switch.

Belkin support sent me this cable as a replacement and it immediately worked great. Graphics quality is excellent now at 1280x1024.

  5. The image provided when connecting a Dell Inspiron 8200 to a Sony 23" LCD HDTV was "shaky." In the end, a similar cable (though 6' instead of 10') from Radio Shack worked well.

1 comments about Clip-on Case w/ Belt Clip for Creative Zen, Smoke.
  1. This is a hard plastic cover that clips around the Creative Zen. The cover has openings to accomodate buttons, the card slot, the hard reset hole, headphone jack, etc. The cover fits very snugly and is quite nice. My only complaint is with the belt clip. There is a disc-shaped piece that is removable from the belt clip. This piece needs to come apart, where half of it will go into the back part of the case and attaches to the other half on the back side. You can't really tell when they're together, but this piece is screw off, NOT snap off. I ended up breaking the disc trying to figure that out.

5 comments about Verbatim USB FireLite AC Adapter (ACFLB-AC).
  1. I am pleased with my purchase of the VST TECH ADAPTER FOR USB Powered- for my ScanDisk storage device.
It came in a timely manner. The device worked beter than the ScanDisk storage device which I discovered was not woking properly. After I exchanged the Scandisk storage device I have used the VST Tech Adapter since then with noproblems.
    Maclady

  2. With a laptop I found it needs power cord. It works well and does what it is supposed to do.

  3. I bought this to power the SmartDisk FireLite drive I was using for backup because I had to start connecting the FireLite drive to a USB hub, rather than directly to the PC. Within two weeks, the FireLite drive failed -- permanently -- and I'm not sure whether the drive failed on its own or whether the power supply caused failure. Either way, I'm not about to buy another SmartDisk, so this power adapter is pretty much useless.

  4. I purchased the A/C adaptor for my Verbatim 160GB ext FireLiteHD. The adaptor was shipped promptly and arrived in good order; however, the power supply jack did not fit the reciever pin in the HD unit...I tried...the HD pin is just too large. We could go lots of places with this one, but hey its just an external "Hard Drive". rhj

  5. I needed this product to get my FireLite drive working. I guess the only thing that would have made it a five star rating is that it should have been included with the FireLite drive in the first place because the FireLite drive has trouble connecting to some USB ports that don't provide enough power to devices connected to them.

5 comments about Slappa SL-24001 240 CD Black HardBody PRO CD Graphite Case.
  1. Very well made and does the job worth the money. You can keep alot of CD's in here. GOOD BUY!!

  2. This is very nice, with soft pockets for the CD's and clear pockets for the booklets. I'm happily consolidating my cd collection and throwing out jewel cases. I wish there had been a comparable case with removable pages.

  3. I have been running out of space for CD and DVD storage for quite a while now, so I thought I would try a hard case CD holder. WOW is all I can say, the construction and feel of the case is excellent. The album covers can be stored in the front of the clear pocket and the CD in the rear section, but as noted by a previous reviewer this halves the storage capacilty to 120 CD's.
I have been so impressed by the Slappa line I have purchased 4 of the DVD storage case (holds 90 DVD's each).
    Thanks Slappa.

  4. I looked for a while to finally buy this quality media carrying case. The aluminum cases were not very good & were not fabricated with carrying a lot or often & only looked good to someone who did not recognize proper heavy duty construction. This size is different as it had no problems with certain pockets being problematic at inserting media & it was the right size for me & my requirements.

  5. There is hardly a field with more inferior products than cd/dvd holders, but this one is excellent. I can't think of a way that they could really make it better.

5 comments about DLO Jam Jacket with Cable Management for iPhone 1G (Black).
  1. At first look seemed to be good because offer the oportunity to have the earphones with you all the time. But, it is too bulky and the earphones do not fit very well in the case. Is a messy. Finally the case broke in 1.5 months of use (at up-front)

  2. Once upon a time (last week) in a very strange land (Los Angeles - strange indeed) there lived a Mommy named Jessica. This Mommy was really really tired and whipped out of her driveway with two kids in the back seat, a dog on her lap and a latte in the cup holder.

(Obviously this isn't me because the heroine of our story is a horrible and irresponsible driver)

So, the Mommy with the kids and the dog and the latte reached for her cell phone (because there wasn't enough going on and she needed to call for something) and she found that her iPhone was not in the center console where it is supposed to be.

The Mommy looked forward to check for traffic (heck why not?) and she noticed something black on the hood of her white car.

Holy Crap kids! Mommy left her phone on the car.

She was able to slowly bring her car to a stop and realized that the grippiness of her Jam Jacket had saved her beloved iPhone, keeping it stuck to the hood of the car.

And the moral of the story kids?
    1. Find out where I'm going and drive the other direction.
    2. The Jam Jacket will protect your investment

  3. I does what it's meant to do. It protects the corners of the iPhone, and it keeps the earbud cords untangled. I only wish it was a little less bulky in the back where it organizes the cords, but I'm not sure how else it would do this ...

  4. a better design would have included a reinforced opening for the volume control--this part ripped on me after a month of use. now i have to buy another case.

  5. At first I really dug this case. It's got the holder for the ear phones, it's got a good grip so that it doesn't slip out of pockets and such but as time went on I found the case very frustrating. I noticed that I was having problems with my cheek setting off buttons while on calls. I thought it was a phone flaw but when I took the phone into Apple they actually said it was the case. Because the case covers the top portion of the phone near the light sensors as the case loses it's elasticity that sensor gets covered and the phone doesn't realize it's up to your ear and the screen doesn't lock.
So...kuddos for the headphone holder but a pain in terms of phone usage.

5 comments about DAYTON SVC1 S-VIDEO JACK TO RCA PLUG CONVERTER.
  1. The product functions properly as expected, I used to it to hook my computer to an old-school television, but I was impressed the most by the speed of shipping. I ordered it on a Monday and recieved it on Wednsday.

  2. I'm using this to covert a composite video output on a VCR to connect an S-video cable to my AV receiver (since the receiver won't convert composite to S-video and the receiver is connected to the TV with S-video). The video jack is sturdy, connects well, and passes the VCR signal just fine. For $11.80 with shipping, this is a good product.

  3. If you want a high quality S-Video converter, then search no farther. I bought this little guy, tried it, and said "Hit the road!" to my bulky S-Video to RF converter. I tested it between my PC's AGP graphics card S-Video output and the composite video RCA inputs on my Color TV, B/W and Green Screen monitors. All three had very good pictures. It beat my RF converter hands down, was easier to use, and shipped fast.

  4. The converter works great, excelent picture quality, great for viewing movies from the computer in the tv. I would recoment this to everyone, has the quality of the higher priced converters for a fraction of the price.

  5. The product works! I tried it on a 4-pin S-Video out connector on an S3 video card and on a 7-pin S-Video out connector on an ATI video card. The product worked on both video cards. The color intensity was lower on the TV, but then that was how I had the TV set up. FYI: The little arrow on the product (S-Video side) in the product picture is only there to show the reference position of the S-Video pins, and does not have anything to do with the direction of the conversion.

  1. I thought I'd take a chance and try it. I was very pleased. it's made well, with good materials and good design. For my Creative Zen Microphoto, it works flawlessly; that's all there is to it. And it sure beats paying $30.00 for the brand-name chargers.

  2. Excellent product..have used it a few times already and was glad to have it when the battery ran low while on the road. Works fine, great price and absolutely no problem with on time shipping. Thanks Rhino

  3. I've tried several aftermarket chargers and none of them worked on my Zen. I thought I'd "roll the dice" on this charger and go ahead and buy it. To my surprise, it's not only high quality, but it really worked! I'm so happy. When I first got my Zen mp3 player (Creative Zen V Plus 4 GB Portable Media Player (Black/Blue))I became frustrated quickly when I noticed that accessories for the thing were nowhere to be found except online at the Creative website. "Sure, sucker - we've got a car charger for ya. That'll be $29.99 plus $8.97 ground shipping!" Almost 40 bucks for a cheapass charger? If I'm gonna pay THAT kinda money, I should have just gotten an iPod player for the ridiculously convenient access to a myriad of accessories, but I didn't want to adhere to a monopoly. Well, I won't be buying Creative again in the future, but I would certainly buy this product's brand!

  4. I received this car charger on June 23rd, 2008. I paid 6 dollars for it and I am not happy with it at all. The end that connects into the cars cigarette lighter is perfectly fine. The red light works and everything. The other end, that plugs into your music device, does not fit snugly and therefore, does not always make the electrical connection that is required for charging. I have a brand new Zen Stone MP3 player. The charger wire that came with it fits extremely snug and makes the connection required for charging every single time, but this product doesn't. After I connect the wire to my MP3 player, you can feel how loose the connection is. My charger light on my MP3 player doesn't go on. You have to sit there and carefully and delicately move the plug from side to side, until you suddenly see the charge light pop on. Once that happens (if you're lucky), don't dare touch the wire or your music device, or you will lose that connection again. I guess you get what you pay for. This piece of junk was probably made in China, like everything else. Why the U.S. couldn't build it is beyond me. I guess we can thank President Bush for instances like this. The internationalist that he is, he'd rather give all of our nation's money to other countries, when he should be keeping it all here. It doesn't surprise me that our country is in the worst shape it's ever been in. Do NOT buy this piece of junk.
