3 comments about Cables To Go - 40321 - 3M (9.8ft) Velocity HDMI to DVI Digital Video Cable (Blue).
  1. The cable seems to be well built and the length is great. The connectors appear to be high quality. Unfortunately, I use the cable to hook up the DVI output on my powerbook to the HDMI input of my Philips LCD TV and the picture is off-center and the edges are cut off. I don't know if this is the computer's fault or the TV's fault or the cable's fault (missing signaling lines or something?) so I'm hesitant to give it a 5 star rating. Sorry.

  2. I used this on a Panasonic DVP 5960 dvd player and HDTV. Picture quality is good, cable quality is good.

  3. Don't waste money on expensive digital cables. If there's any signal degradation, it's instantly obvious. Using this to hook a computer up to a display, and it works fine. Go ahead and buy it and don't worry about it.

  1. I really enjoy Taiyo Yuden products, one of the best dvd's I have used and I have really tried the all, and the shipper sent my product very fast it was perfectly priced.

  2. Used ritek 04 all my burning life for games and movies, bought these because of the price and over the moon with them.
Heard a lot of great things about TY and now I know why, not one coaster/failure out of the 50 I have burnt so far, ritek was 1 in 7 failure, so impressed and will stick to these.
Big thumbs up to the seller also, quick delivery.

    recommend these discs to everyone.

  3. I have burned about 20 DVDs using the Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R media. No coasters yet. And the price was very good. I will be re-ordering

  4. Experienced failure rate of about 10%. Whenever I got a write error I replaced the disc with a TDK R+ and the disc burned fine. Have to conclude it is the disc, not my burner.

  5. Excellent media. I have yet to get a coaster. Using a pioneer 16x burner.
    Highly recommended.

5 comments about Philips MANT950 Indoor/Outdoor Amplified UHF/VHF/HDTV Antenna.
  1. I tried 6 different indoor antennas for digitial HD reception. A Phillips rabbit ear model worked pretty well out of all of them but I had to constantly adjust the ears for each channel to obtain optimal reception. I finally decided to get an exterior antenna but the homeowners association prohibits them mounted on the roof. All the satellite dishes are mounted on a post in the ground so I bought a post, mounted the antenna, pointed it, and voila! I now have 17 digital channels when I previously had only 5! I even picked up a couple analog channels from over 75 miles away. It is supposed to be multidirectional but aiming it helps. I used a nifty feature on the www.antennaweb.org website to determine the best direction. The antenna is mounted only five feet above the ground and dosen't look half bad although I have had a couple curious comments. The reception is better than a friends digital cable on the very same TV. Perhaps the other antennas would have worked good outside as well, but the rabbit ears would have continued to be a pain. From the research I have done, exterior mounting is the best way to go. BONUS! For kicks I hooked up my FM radio receiver to the same antenna and now I get more quality stereo stations than I need. Then I decided to add another spliter and hooked up a basement TV that I had relegated to DVD use only due to poor reception. The antenna powers all three devices with no noticable reduction in picture quality on the big screen. For less than $60 this is a must buy for a low profile outdoor antenna. Three friends have purchased it on my advice and have thanked me profusely for the suggestion.

  2. I really enjoy this antenna, it is much less expensive than the super strong models, but works quite well. I am able to use it for reception on 2 tv's and I get recption for nbc, abc, cbs, fox, cw, pbs, rtn, and ion really well.

  3. After reading the reviewings on Amazon, I decided to buy this to get some HDTV channels. I checked antennaweb to determine the location of the transmission towers and installed the antenna outdoor toward my favorite channels. Those channels are only 26-32 miles from my location so I was expecting to get a good reception...but was I wrong! Before installing this antenna, I used an indoor RCA HDTV antenna I got from Walmart. I was getting 11 HDTV channels with the RCA antenna. After installing this, I got 1 HD channel and 1 other channel off and on and nothing else. I tried moving the antenna in all directions and got nothing...nada. So, that antenna is either defective or simply useless. I ended up returning it to Amazon and continue using the RCA antenna. Don't buy this if you want to get good signals!

  4. I bought this antenna, believing my troubles were over, based on the majority of the reviews. Boy was I in for a suprise! It brings in ONE station just a little better than before, another station, the sound is better. Overall, I get 8 stations, the same as with my broken rabbit ears. Plus the fact that you must have the antenna lined up perfectly for any clarity.

  5. I tested this Phillips antenna in a couple different areas in and around the house. It brings in some channels fantastically, but misses others completely.

Make sure to try this indoor antenna first: Philips High Performance Amplified Indoor Uhf/Vhf/Fm/HDTV Antenna. Nothing else even compares so far and it is much easier to setup.

  2. Easy to assemble and attach to the wall mount. Took a while to get here though.

  3. Pretty basic but works well. won't fit a compact player, but works for standard sizes.

  1. I like these earphones a lot. I have been through many in ear phone from etymotic to shure to even bose.

These are comparable to all of them at a much cheaper price. I also have the Bose QC3 and I have to admit that the Bose sounds better, but these hold up and they are a lot more convenient. I use them with my computer and iPod and am very impressed.

  2. Best headphones i have ever used. sound quality is great, bass is amazing for such a small package, and the ear jells are great at noise cancelling. Overall... BUY THEM!!!

  3. I'm very picky with my sound. I like deep, punishing bass, and crisp, clean highs. I've used my share of buds and earphones and, I was a bit skeptical of these at first. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

I tried V-Moda's Bass Freq, and those had astounding bass, but the middles were muddy and the highs sucked really bad.

I've tried sony, shure, v-moda, etc. But this pair really comes through. They're comfortable, the block out about 80% of outside noise, the bass is deep and punishing and the highs are so clear and crisp.

The volume control on the cord also comes in handy.

Get these, trust me, you NEED them!

  4. As stated by several others already--very solidly built. The wires are thicker than average and attached to the bud very well. My "proof" of this is 1) forgot my 30 gig ipod in my pocket dropped my jeans, jerked the buds out my ears (hurt my ears more than the wires!) 2) Have caught the wires on door knobs / cabinet knobs at least 4 separate times and again jerked the buds out of my ears--same result. Sound wise, above average I would guess, but not earth shattering--physics wise--there are just buds! Not studio speakers shrunk down to headphone size after all.
9/5/08--One bud stopped working--emailed Skullcandy via website-explained problem, got a return authorization about 2 mins later--very short turn around and got a new set of buds! Thanks SkullCandy!!

  5. these thing rock, im a teen and i use them when i ski, snowboard, bike, in class and theyre awsome. theyve got great bass and they have a volume aguster in the wires so u dont need to dig in your pokets to turn it up. they cancel out other noises really good. iv gotten many different pairs of skullcandys, and they are a great company, plus if you lose the gell things you can get more on theyre web site for like 3 bucks

5 comments about Mobile Edge Alienware Deluxe Backpack.
  1. I bought this bag cause I needed a school bag that would be able to carry my laptop. I love the paded pocket in the back of the main compartment, it holds my laptop well. The main compartment is a little small, but doable. It gets a little tight when I have all my books in there plus my laptop. I love all the little pockets, yeah they all seem to be shaped to hold a mouse, but I use them for holding all kinds of things you just have to be creative. The straps are very comfortable and secure they're great. Overall it is a great bag, very durable and great for what I need.

  2. I love the style of this backpack. I just recieved it today and am imperssed with the thickness of the matrial being used as well as the stiching, unlike anything I'v seen at the stores. I am very very impressed with the amound of protection provided in the PC sleve, it completely encoumpases my monster Gateway NX860XL desktop notebook, and even has a padded fold down flap that keeps the top from being impacted. I've been though several packs and none have provided as much protection or have been near large enough to zip the zippers easly around the corners. But... The down side is that it is not the most convient to open or keep things such as calculators, ink pens, (small) notepads, or or misc. office supplies organized in it's primarily CD sleves located in the main PC compartment. But if a sweetly styled pack out weighs functionality this is definatly one for you. I'll keep mine until there is one made as cool looking and more functional and it will probably be Alienware because the quality is truely impressive. It dose provide plenty of space inside its single main compartment for all my computer gadgets, but maybe not for an extreme amount of collage books, on the other hand you shouldn't be carrying all that weight on your back anyways! Shop hard, purchase once...Thanks.

  3. This is a really good laptop bag, because it has a lot of extra pockets for other laptop accessories like mouse, adapter, etc. I have a 17" Toshiba Satelite that I use this bag to carry around, however, the pocket designed for the laptop has a velcro "lock" that doesn't quite reach each other when the laptop is in. It'll still touch (and therefore, "lock"), but only slightly.

While there is a lot of room for accessories, there aren't a lot of room for books, notebooks, folders, binders, etc. That may not be an issue if you live on campus, but for those who commute and have to bring lots of books, etc. all at once. . . well, I guess there aren't a lot of options anyhow.

Overall, I like the bag, but I may need to reconsider leaving my laptop behind so that I can carry more books. But my case is probably rare, as most people would probably only carry a few books, which the bag certainly has room for.

  4. This backpack is great and well worth the money. I got caught in some heavy rain could not even see 10 feet in front of me, had my laptop and books in this backpack and when i got home everything was completely dry nothing got wet. This backpack is also well padded.

  5. I purchased this bag because of the size and because of the 17" laptop holding area. I was extremely pleased with the amount that you can carry in this bag. It is very good quality. My one disappointment was that the straps when tightened have excess straps flapping around (just like every other bag). Its no big deal, just that i have to tuck them when I'm on my motorcycle. Overall, the bag is well worth the money and I highly recommend giving it a shot.

3 comments about Daylight Projection Clock.
  1. I've gotten addicted to having a projection clock in my bedroom since I purchased my first one a few years ago. When moving to a new house, I was suffering from a severe lack of nightstand surface area, so I was looking for a cool clock that also had a small footprint.

This clock satisfied that and much more. The projected time is far brighter than other clocks, so its visible in full daylight, but it also scales the brightness back when it detects a darkened room. Compared to my older clocks, this thing is like 5X brighter or more, very nice.

Also the modern style of both the on-clock image and projected image is a nice change of pace, and looks more high-tech and modern. The ability to switch to show both indoor and outdoor temp hands-free is nice as well. The on-clock even even animated when it changes times and when the temperature changes. Very cool and way more hip than the older digital projection clocks.

  2. I love this clock! I love the time shining on the ceiling. I love how you wave your hand over it to turn off the alarm. I love how unique it is. I do not have any complaints whatsoever about this clock.

  3. The clock does exactly what it says it does. The time can be set manually or via an NIST atomic clock via radio waves. The design is very unique, but I like it. The display is clear and readable from a good 20' away.

The projection is downright amazing. It is plainly visible during daylight hours and quite illuminating during the night. Sensitive sleepers might be bothered by the display, even though it dims the brightness in a darkened room. Fortunately, the switch to disable the projection is easily accessible on the underside of the clock.

My only complaint about the clock is that the brightness is not configurable -- it's too bright for my tastes at night.

3 comments about Apple iPod Touch Soft Polycarbonate Slim fit Case - Black (Cozip Brand) Made in Korea.
  1. i used to have a rubber cover for my itouch but it was too bulky. this case is actually very light and covers the back of the itouch. it has a rubbery texture to it but it is not rubber which is very unique. i personally like this case than my old rubber case because of its light weight and grip.

  2. This case meets my expectations, especially given the relatively low price -- but it isn't for everyone. I wanted a very slim case that would add scratch-and-ding protection and a little bit of drop protection while not ruining the clean, slim lines of the iPod. This case covers the back and sides, but leaves most of the top, bottom, front and black beveled edge exposed. I don't think it offers much real drop protection if you drop your iPod, and again, it offers zero protection for the screen. Don't get this case if that's what you need.

    Other likes:
    - The rubberized black finish adds a bit of grip
    - Still fits inside the soft slip case I use when carrying the iPod in my pocket (yes, case-in-case; I'm paranoid)
    - Plenty of clearance around bottom ports allows me to plug in my Grado headphones, whose thick plug housing doesn't fit into all cases

    Other dislikes:
    - Because of how tightly the case snaps on, it feels like it will scuff the bezel over time
    - The corners look fussy to me; from many frontal angles they mar the clean outline of the iPod enough to be distracting. I know that the design is part of how the rigid case snaps on, but wish they'd found a different solution.

  3. This back protection cover for the Ipod Touch is okay considering its only there to protect the back. The corners of the cover are kind of wrapped around to 'clasp' onto the coners of the iPod Touch. There is no obtrusive area on the front, so no worry about covering the face or interfering with the view window. I don't know why iPod didn't make a scratch-free back panel so owners aren't forced to buy some protecting entity like this. I would have preferred to buy a rubber or more soft cover since I'm afraid that this 'metal-like' cover may actually scratch the iPod when repeatedly taken off and on. With shipping costs, its not worth it, in my opinion.

  1. There is no way that any ipod owner wants to remove a cover to charge their ipod in the car. The plug into the ipod has a larger than necessary base. The cord is sturdier than the one provided by Ipod to plug into your laptop but so what if you don't get to use it. I am returning this.

  2. I use the Griffen Smartdeck which requires the hook up through the ipod connector (not the headphone jack), therefore I could not have it charging at the same time. The Kensington has the pass through feature and works great with the Smartdeck.
