  1. You get what you pay for, and these are worth every penny. Deep bass, and crisp highs!

  2. These are comfortable to wear and the sound is great, but they are not of high quality construction. Mine lasted approximately a year and a half before snapping near the ear cover. There are similar complaints all over the web. For a $130-140 price tag, I would expect them to last significantly longer. It is definitely disappointing as I remember the pain when I dished out the money. I would avoid these unless you are into disposable headsets.

  3. These sound great and are very comfortable. Unfortunately, they are kind of flimsy, especially around the ear pieces. Mine came apart and will not stay intact any more... every time I take them off, the left earcup falls out. still sound nice but a pain to "put together" every time I use them.
should come with a sticker: Some Re-Assembly required

  4. Ok, I have had this pair of headphones for 2+ years. I have to disagree with some people saying the build quality is horrible. I havent had any problem with the headphones in that department. The only thing I replaced on it were the ear cushions. But i think the reason people buy this headphones is because "it sounds so nice." I was in the same boat and got suckered into buying this at the Bose store [...] Boy was I stupid. I bought another pair of sony dj monitor headphones (MDR-V700DJ) for my turntables and i found that the sony sounds WAY better than the bose and it is half the price. The sony has better bass, way better mids (bose doesnt have any) and good highs. I would not buy this pair of headphones for any reason or recommend anybody else to buy it. I would strongly recommend you to buy a good pair of sony.

  5. While I read most people either have the cord break at the cups or the plastic piece holding the cups mine actually freyed off at the stereo plug.

The problem is the cord is simply too long, I used rubberbands to make the cord shorter but it'd still get caught on everything even though the cord was ran inside my shirt instead of outside. It took plenty of tugs and pulls before the end finally gave in.

Yes they are pricey but the sound is excellent. If they'd make one with a shorter cord I'd gladly buy another set..but until then I'm not spending so much on head phones.

  1. Love it. Works over a greater extended range than normal bluetooth sets, probably 50+ feet unobstructived. I would buy this unit again!

  2. You cant beat this deal!! Works well with my htc phone and sounds amazing. You can't beat this deal. Thanks

  3. i bought this to pair it with my alltel htc touch phone and was very impressed! i also paired it with my 80 ipod classic. worked well together. the alltel store wanted $150 bucks for these what a rip-off! it pays to look online. it will cut off at 30 feet but other than that i love them!

  4. Sound seems very muffled when listening to music from computer. Ok headphones for using with cell-phone, have to raise voice for person on the other end to hear, some interference though. Wish I could return these.

  5. I'm using this product past 5 months and its b'ful and awesome sound quality. I didn't found any issue with this product. Easy to configure and connect. It works with my Sony Erricson W580i Walkman phone as well as my laptop. Sound quality and beats are very good. Distortion only if u move your head 90% on left, but ignorable. Its not bulky and fit easily. Its in build mic is good. While playing a music if call comes u can atend it with this headset. It has its own volume adjustment. Overall, a good peace which makes me fully satisfied. I got what i was looking for. no wire hassle now.

5 comments about Sennheiser HD600 Over-Ear Open Dynamic Hi-Fi Professional Stereo Headphones (Black).
  1. As a New York recording a mixing engineer I've had the opportunity to listen to quite a few pairs of headphones. The Sennheiser HD600s are the clearest, fullest, and most balanced headphones I've heard so far. While they wouldn't work for a performer in the studio because of the open-air design and considerable leakage, they have become a must-have as a mixing reference, especially when mixing in a new and unfamiliar room.

Grado makes some wonderful headphones that sound nearly as good as the HD600s but the up-against-the-ear design makes them uncomfortable after less than 15 minutes, whereas the HD600s, even with their snug fit, are still very comfortable for long periods of time.

If you know of a better pair of headphones, I want to know about them!

  2. I've been wanting to buy a HD600 for many years because it seemed to be the benchmark for a lot of professional studio engineers and reviewers, not to mention budding audiophiles. But I hesitated because it's pretty expensive in Australia (A$600-700) and wasn't sure whether I wanted an Open headphone. Until recently I only had Closed ones including Sennheiser HD280pro. But I bought Koss KSC75 and Alessandro MS-1 (a tweaked Grado SR80) open headphones and liked the sound. Given the recent fall of the US dollar, I decided to purchase HD600 from amazon - even after a hefty shipping charge of US$54, it still only cost me US$349 (about A$385).

I burned it in for about 200 hours using a variety of source materials including a couple of audio test CDs. I mostly listen to my music collection (re-ripped in either ALC lossless or AAC 256kbps) in my iPod Classic 80G via line-out to my Minibox-E headphone amp (which is a fantastic little amp I got from Head Direct for US$159). (It's not a good idea to connect your amp to the iPod's earphone output. Buy a line-out connector.)

The HD600 is beautifully built and wonderful to look at. Its clamping force is a bit too strong initially but it gets better with use. It's now one of the most comfortable headphones I tried.

The sound is exactly what I expected after reading so many reviews over the years. It's very clear, neutral and musical. It highlights any inadequacies of the source material. Low-bit rate MP3s are painful. But it lets you discover your music collection all over by bringing out the details you never noticed before.

I also use it with my computer sometimes. I connect it directly to an external soundcard (Creative Audigy 2NX USB with separate power) and it seems to drive HD600 adequately. I might purchase a dedicated DAC unit later. Also on the wish list is a balanced rig (amp & cable with XLR connectors). It costs about US$2000 but it's supposed to make HD600 sing. The question is whether I can justify the expense to my wife. :)

  3. There have been so many reviews here I almost didnt write one but with the lack of reviews by producers I decided to add one more to the list.

If you're producing audio like myself you already know theres no replacement for a good set of monitors. That said there's a few reasons you may be mixing through a set of cans.
My reasons are that my studio is sometimes mobile and that I'm often mixing in my apartment (I've found that boxers and a t-shirt are a superior choice for studio apparel).
I'm running an Mbox2 with Pro-Tools 7 (sometimes switch to Nuendo... don't hate me... hush now Abelton users).
I also use these with my Ivory Keys VST and it sounds pretty nice, I think they add a bit of warmth when compared to a set of Mackies, could be the spatial difference, but I actually like it better through the Senns, a bit more personal I guess.

That said, I feel pretty happy with the sound from these cans.
I've been using them for almost a year now, extensively.
They're a bit lacking in the low-ends when I push them, but when you pair them up with an analyzer you can usually compensate pretty nicely with a combo of visual and audio reference.

They are open-ear, so dont expect your vocalists to be using them in the sound booth or you'll be recording the sound coming from the headphones along with the vox. For the producer, the only real place for these is in the mix down if you're trying to be quiet... or your one of those weirdos who uses cans for some bizarre voodoo mixing ritual.(I've heard of these guys but never met one)

They are definitely more comfortable than some of the other headsets I've tried, Grado's being the least comfortable, Sony's aren't bad.
Sometimes I seem to put them on wrong and my ears start hurting pretty quickly but if I slide them around on my head a bit so my ears are good and centered I can wear them for a few hours before I need to take em off.

I think the most important thing to note here is my experience with Sennheisers customer service.
Recently I snapped the headset in half, dunno if it was from cheap plastic construction or just lots of use. Regardless I contacted Senn and asked what I needed to do, assuming I'd have to send them in and wait a week to get them fixed. Instead Senn offered to just send me a new headband and I could replace it myself.
Because of the modular construction of these cans that will be pretty easy to do and lets me keep using them while I wait for my replacement.
Needless to say, that made me pretty happy.
The cords firmly snap in and out of the cans via 2 pronged plugs, nice for those who accidentaly step on the cord while they stand up.

On a consumer level note, if you are listening to MP3's or any compressed audio format in a portable device... or any device for that matter, dont buy these, you're wasting your money.
I'm not insulting you, I'm being serious.
There are cheaper alternatives for compressed audio.

If you like your music and can't blast your speakers for some reason or the other, then I'd say these are a pretty nice set. Not the best for sound but close enough that the price and comfort make up for the slight difference you may hear in a set of (very uncomfortable) Grado's.

For those of you who are worried about reproducing the "original sound" of a recording, you need to laugh at yourself for a minute and realize that we process those sounds pretty thoroughly before we even bounce them to a track. Compressors, EQ's, Verbs, etc., sometimes before the signal even hits the sound card it's gone through a pre-amp. Aside from that the difference between audio still in the DAW and a bounced track is pretty dramatic. You're just not going to hear what we hear in the studio. Go with what you like.
Some like it crispy, some like it warm.
If you can listen to your favorite track through the headphones before you decide to buy them, do that.
Leave em on your head for a while see how they fit.

I recommend trying them out if your searching for a set.
They work nicely for my purposes.

  4. I could go on and on about these phones, the umpteen reviews you read on this site indicate what you already suspect, these are phenomenal quality for the price. They are comfortable, sound fantastic, and have stood up to abuse by me and my two teen age sons. I got them on a whim, wanted some nice headphones to listen to classical and jazz music without disturbing my family. They quickly disappeared into my two teenaged son's bedrooms who listen to a variety of music, rock, jazz, pop, choral, everytihng. You can spend a lot more and not get any better. Just buy them and enjoy, you won't be disappointed. they will produce anything you want from the deepest 32 contrabombard, jaco pastorius, the Flecktones, the Stones, the Guarneri quartet, to Joshua Bell and Izthak Perlman. These are the best. Not to be missed!!!

  5. These are great headphones - neutral, smooth and easy on the ears for nearly all types of music. I've got a few sets of cans including the Audio Technica A900, Shure E2C and Future Sonics Atrio M8's. The new Senn's are easily my favorite, particularly after breaking in for a few days. Typical use is with a Zune 30gb, powered by a Little Dot MK1 portable amplifier. The amp really helps drive the Senn's well although the Zune is capable of decent sound on it's own if you don't have any amplification.

The Senn's are very comfortable for extended periods of listening, my longest is about 4 hours at this point. They fit nicely over my ears without any trouble although do slightly pinch my head. I'm not a small guy so this may not be a problem for everyone but be aware they do fit pretty snug compared with the Audio Technica A900's at least. No problems with sweating or getting warm, the earpads are cloth, which I suspect helps a great deal.

Build quality seems fine, although the cable seems pretty flimsy (it can be replaced but get your wallet ready) and the marbled plastic look isn't necessarily my favorite. The box it comes in is very nice, and Amazon did a great job packing in a very large box with plenty of packing material.

  1. Belkin Components Y Splitter Adapter for Mini Stereo Plug to 2 Mini Stereo Jacks--6-inch cable
    Belkin F8V234-WHT-APL Headphone Splitter
also have F8V234 as Item model number
but they are cheaper since no one value-added by writing a review
    reviews are monetized ...
standard Y-adapter , any long term durability issues would be related to the
moving parts in the female Jacks

  2. So to recap:
    Dirt cheap
    Flexible
    extremely easy to use
    Diminishes volume? Not too badly.
DOES preserve stereo separation! I'm mixing a song right now through these splitters and while panning back and forth, my headphones respond as if the splitter weren't in at all. It doesn't turn stereo to mono despite what that one guy said. And yes, I've got two pairs of headphones plugged in.

I discovered that if both sets of headphones plugged into the splitter aren't firmly plugged in, it will do the stereo to mono thing, but if you click them in properly, you're fine.

  3. i still haven't received my audio splitter can you re send and give me email back saying your sent it; i would appreciate this so much

  4. works pretty well. unlike what the other review said, the audio is not mono, you just have to push the connector in. the splitter is a bit longer than i wanted (3in, but i wanted to use it with my laptop), but that's definitely better than it being too short.

  5. As other reviewers have noted (and I've taken this into account for purchasing), the volume drops across both outputs since the signal is split -- not a big concern for me, but on some setups this may result in an unhappy amount of line noise when you have to crank source volumes to compensate.

I use this because I have a stereo deck (with high-quality Sony MDR-V900s attached) and a Plantronics headset I use for recording video tutorials and such on my computer. I didn't want to actively have to toggle back-and-forth, since that'd impede my workflow: my use case is swapping between headsets quickly, and this Belkin splitter is a tidy little solution!

  1. It's hard to complain when your boss surprises you by replacing your 2-yr-old G4 QuickSilver with a brand new G5, even when you can't use it because your boss "forgot" to get you that sweet 30" Apple Cinema Display you've had your eye on. I run dual monitors - the G5 came with one of these adapters, but I needed a second one to hook up my other 20" monitor. Like all Apple products, this little adapter is beautiful to look at - white like the new generation of keyboards, smooth and just sexy. Connects quickly, never a problem. Viva la Macintosh!

  2. If you have a G4 iMac and the monitor is on the way out and you don't want to replace the inverter, this is the product for you. Makes life a lot simpler and easier for testing monitors or video cards.

  3. I live outside the Us and as a recently mac user in my country theres no place to purchase mac accesories (Venezuela). I bougth this product hoping to improve me capabilaties with my New Macbook, and I'm frustraded since It works with Old Mac not with mine.......... there should be better
or more specific ways to buy mac products in Amazon ........ In my last presentation i had to use my pc witch I hate .................

  4. is not that i expect. The picture of these product was similar, that the display that i need, but when the product arrive, wasn't the same.

3 comments about iLive Boombox Portable Music System with CD Player and iPod Dock (Black).
  1. I just got this and am returning it, but I think lots of people will be satisfied with this if they want it for indoor use only and don't require a lot of bass. It appears to be more mid-range and not as much bass or enough high treble, if that's even the correct term. It actually sounds fine though - I think I'm just picky and prefer that type of sound (I imagine the sound looking like an hourglass, the way I like it; top heavy and bottom heavy!).

It's great that it has a docking station which doesn't force the ipod to stick up too high/vulnerably, although my ipod didn't sit in there terribly snugly (but well enough I'm sure), and that it has am/fm tuner and c.d. player, I like the way the c.d. player is the slot-loading kind (again, probably not getting the terminology right, sorry). I wasn't impressed with the reception of the FM tuner though...although it wasn't terrible it was far from good, and I never did try AM.

It takes a while to turn the volume up or down and there's no mute button so you can't turn it down in a hurry if you need to. You have to hit the button repeatedly and quickly and hope that's fast enough (you can also hold it down but that takes even longer). The pre-set EQ options aren't very impressive. Why can't they just give us old-fashioned dials for volume or tuners instead of digital buttons, and why can't they just give us treble and bass dials for us to manipulate ourselves? So frustrating!

The unit looks really cool and feels good to carry and the handle is nice. The only problem I have in terms of looks is that the front is so nice and shiny and glossy that it will get scratched REALLY easily (not the biggest deal in the world) and in fact mine came with a light to medium-sized scratch straight from the factory. If it weren't for the average/mediocre sound, I'd keep it regardless of the scratch.

Unfortunately the only other boomboxes out there that are louder with more base are only two models: one that is ipod/MP3 player only (a dock with lots of power coming out of those speakers but has no tuner or c.d. player) and one that has it all including ipod hook-up but no dock/cradle to keep it in as part of the entire unit (i.e. it's off to the side, hooked up by a cord plugged into the boombox). It's mind-boggling to me that at this time there STILL isn't a loud, powerful boombox that has at least a tuner (with good reception, at that) AND that has a docking station that securely holds your ipod in place without it sticking up awkwardly!

Bottom line, for not being a fancy brand name or a unit that is known for being super loud, it's not bad. I may be pickier than some and require a lot more bass and treble than perhaps the average listener. I think this would be really, really nice for someone who just wants to hear decent sounding music (it's not bad - just not great) and have the options it offers. I also like that I can spontaneously hook it up to my laptop if I wanted, to get more sound than the laptop speakers provide (without having to commit to the set-up of computer speakers). It's a nice size (not too big or small), looks nice and sounds pretty good inside the house - just not a lot of bass (for me). It would be great for an office or kitchen and probably great outdoors if it's just you on a balcony reading a book as opposed to being the source of music at at a back yard BBQ full of chatty people...the music just wouldn't be loud enough.

Anyway I hope this info helps! I know finding reviews on this at this point in time is almost impossible since this is so new.

p.s. finding info on how many watts is IMPOSSIBLE to do online. I had to call the company and was transferred to a few people before they finally found someone who could tell me (after mine had already been shipped - but at least I asked!) that it's 16 watts total (either 4, 4, and 8 or 6, 6 and 4 - can't remember which).

  2. this is a unique product combination.it fits all kinds of i-pods.that's a good thing.a cd player to boot. sound is great.only thing i don't like is the clock and preset stations have to be redone if you don't keep it plugged in without batteries in it. otherwise great product.

  3. I am a music teacher and I needed a boombox that would be loud enough to substitute for my regular radio when needed. I have had this unit several weeks and I use it in PLACE of my old radio! The ipod feature works nicely and the cd player has no problems. The radio was a little fuzzy, but it is probably because of my location, not the radio. I was very skeptical of buying this product, but I have really enjoyed it. If you are looking for a boombox that is easy to use and has good sound, this one should definately be considered.

5 comments about Logitech 980397-0403 Wireless Headphones for iPod, Gray.
  1. I had to return the first set, as it just did not communicate with the sending unit. As most complaints, (the second set)the band cracked after about 3 uses. Eventually fixed that (It now looks like a piece of junk) Battery lasts about 3 hours at the most. Sound quality is not too bad though. A waste of money.

  2. DON'T Buy This Headphones, they will broke in the 1st month.
their range is too small not more than 5 meters. i can live with the 5 meters range but they didn't last for 1 month.

  3. This review is just more of the same. I loved the product, used it gently but the band still broke. Just not worth the price with the cheap construction and lack of support from Logitech. Had a great idea, but didn't deliver is quality.

  4. Good things I have to say about this product:
Had a long battery life, and nice range. I could clearly listen to my music a good 25- 30 feet away. and somewhat comfortable fit on the ears.

    Bad things:
I was disappointed to find that this product broke within a week of me owning it. It did not have the ability to contour to my head, resulting in it eventually breaking in half. And, After trying to tape together it would eventually not receive a signal.

So conclusion: great reliable sound. But only buy if you have a perfectly shaped small head.

  5. This is a defective product.

After two years of occasional use, these headphones split in the middle of the band that joins the two ear speakers. I just got off the phone with Logitech, and the best they will offer me is half off purchasing a new set since mine are now out of warranty. The warranty itself is two years, and I purchased them just over that.

Personally, I think that defective products like this one, which consistently fail due to the same material defect, should be replaced or repaired regardless of age. Sadly, Logitech does not see things this way, so I will think long and hard before purchasing another of their products.
