5 comments about Dayton HDMI-2M HDMI Cable 2m.
  1. This HDMI cable is quite a bargain. It does a beautiful job. Forget Radio Shack and the Monster rip-offs. I purchased three with no problems. BL

  2. These are supposedly Dayton HDMI cables which sell for a big price elsewhere, although nothing on the packaging nor the cables says Dayton. They look pretty solid. What leaves me feeling uneasy is the scam-like pricing - $1 for a cable and $5 for shipping. And that is $5 PER CABLE, so when I ordered 3, I was charged $15 shipping!! They came in an inexpensive bubble bag by first-class mail. Could not have cost more than $4 total, so they made $11 or so just off "shipping". The total price was still lower than what other companies charge total for Dayton cables, but why use such a scammy approach?

  3. Dayton cables are high quality items, these are not real Dayton cables! These vendors know that they are NOT selling Dayton cables, yet they continue to bait and switch in order to sell their cheap imitations. They should be ousted from Amazon!

Hit the marketplace to buy the REAL Dayton cables.

  4. Product was as shown and was delivered as promised. Great price. Works well. Recommend buying again.

  5. No matter where you go you can buy HDMI cables for some hideous prices. I read by a reviewer that the need for expensive HDMI cables is unnecessary. These jewels prove it. At a cost less than $10 you get exactly what you need to run your dhgh def products. This one is among three others and although their cost exceeds this one they are not any better. Bottom line: why spend more when you do not have to to get superior HD receipt.

5 comments about Acoustic Research AP-397 Performance Series Speaker Wire Connector, Banana Type.
  1. Value

Most audio connector products are overpriced. These AR banana connectors probably are, too. But they offer good value because they are so well designed and easy to use. Their build quality also seems good, and they sound fine.

    Design

Each connector comprises three separate parts: the plug, a "compression ring", and a base.

The plug is one part, and has three sections: the plug proper that connects to audio equipment, the small section of knurled case with threads for screwing into the base, and a 1/2" spike for embedding in speaker cable.

The base is one part: the large section of knurled case threaded for the plug to screw into. Each is marked with either a red stripe for the positive side of the speaker cable, or a white one for the negative side.

    Installation

Installation could not be easier. The one detail the instructions do not mention, but I discovered quickly, is that there are two sets of compression rings. The white ones are for thicker speaker cable, the black ones for thinner cable.

Final hand tightening of the connector assembly should be sufficient, but if you are over-zealous, you may abrade your finger with the knurled casing. I did. Common sense might have saved me from this, but you may benefit from using a thin rag to protect your fingers.

  2. Work very well, the sound is grate, abut 2 min to install.
I'm very happy and will recommend this product to any one looking for it.

  3. I use this connector to terminate my Raptor 10AWG cable. Within 2 mins i finished termination at both end which show how easy it is to connect.

  4. These connectors are very solid. Easy to set up and they fit many gauges of speaker wire. Also, the base is not very long which is good for tight fitting areas or for a clean look. I used several packages of these for my surround sound faceplate and it looks great!

  5. Very easy to use. Wish I had purchased sooner. Use with heavier wire.

5 comments about Monster Cable GCGL300 SV-10 GameCube S-Video A/V Cable (10 Feet).
  1. If you don't want to pay about 80 bucks (or more) for one of the dozen of Component Video Cable available in market then this would be your better second option. Of course, if you can get a component cable for GameCube, give thanks to the Lord and use it, but if you are one of the unlucky, like all of us, who had to buy an alternative, you won't be disappointed ... too much.

  2. I know that if you are looking into getting these cables, you are mostly likely just interested in using them for Gamecube. BUT, were you aware that these cables are fully functional with N64 as well as SuperNES? Up until the Wii, Nintendo never change the A/V connector on the back of there systems. (Except NES, it used mono standard RCA style A/V output) I am using these cables not for my Gamecube, but for my N64 nd SuperNES, and it looks GREAT. Well, as great as old school systems can look, you'd be amazed what the old cable antena connection signal hid, it almost blurred it into looking better, lol. What I am saying is if you are serious old school gamer and a videophile, your going to want to consider these cables.

  3. I was very skeptic about purchasing these video cables. I read about it all over the internet and even read some reviews that were at least remotely related to the monster brand which was said to be one of the finest A/V cable manufacturers. Most of my concerns came from reading how frustrating it could be to plug the cord to the TV jacks and of course, how big of an improvement the S-Video mode would achieve on my 43 inch -non HD- TV I planned to use these on. I have a rear projection set and the definition I got by using composite cables was so-so.
After much thought I decided to go with these, inspite its steep price ($35+7 shipping) and the before-mentioned issues. I attempted to plug them to the TV jacks. They fit nicely into the console (both N64 and GC) and so did the S-Video end but the audio plugs would not fit. I wasn't going to risk the integrity of my hard earned, costly TV so I didn't push them in too hard and pulled them out instead. At that point a very simple thought hit me: Why don't some people use their brain once for a change?? Just take some metallic scissors or any resilient long-nose tool or eating utensil and push the contact borders out a little bit so they'll fit the audio jacks. That's all! The cables will not be damaged because of this unless you're not careful and apply super human strenght on'em. The contacts are allegedly made of gold. What's better than that? This took me 2 minutes and can save you tons of grief.
On to the graphics: after careful examining and going back and forth between the S-Video input and the composite input I realized that if I had to go from one to the other so often was because the difference is small. I expected total awesomeness! That said, there is difference. Colors are more vibrant and the jagged edges are less noticeable. Things looked a bit clearer, specially when you move close to them and more details jump into sight that you may not have seen in your game before; you suddenly realize they were there, unnoticed.
This product did indeed improve the picture of my games, however, the component cables made by sony for its PS2 make the picture better. I can't help but wonder how good they'd make my GC look. I couldn't get these because they're no longer manufactured and my GC is one of those newer models that don't have the multi out output to connect component to. My TV has a 480i mode I could have used with those but Monster S-Video was the best I could do for my console graphics-wise. If you have this set up too, go with it and purchase this product without hesitation. You won't regret it. I don't.

  4. I recently bought this S-video cable more out of a desire to enhance the visual quality of my older Nintendo 64 rather than having anything to do with my Nintendo Gamecube. I happen to own a high definition TV and could easily purchase high def component cables for progressive scan compatable Gamecube titles. This review was written with Nintendo 64 owners in mind, who are spoiled by next generation picture clarity and cannot bare to suffer for blurry colors, and blocky or choppy environments. I have to say that it is difficult to find a set of cables which support the Nintendo 64 and alter the quality of the overall picture in any way that will make a spectacular difference. Buying high def component cables tailor made for Gamecube might seem reasonable enough considering that most of the cables on the market that fit Gamecube also fit the Nintendo 64. But the end results are negligable when you consider the cost of those cords, then compare them to a set of these video-S monster cables. The difference is minimal at best. From what I have seen, these monster cables cost less than high def component cables yet offer an equaled quality or even better. The Nintendo 64 hardware and or software really don't support high definiton anyways. You CAN however improve the color and texture quality of your Nintendo 64 in two ways.

    1) buy these monster cables for Gamecube. They are relatively cheap, and are more reliable with most television models than some 3rd party cables. They are a lengthy 10 feet and the cords are very thick and durable. They are quality I assure you.

2)Make sure to purchase a Nintendo 64 expansion pak. The effectiveness of the cords alone will only carry so far, the Nintendo 64 hardware is partially to blame for it's lackluster visual details.

...So buy the expansion pak and these cords and you will certainly view the difference.

  5. Considering Component cables for GC are not sold anymore. These are the best cables for your gamecube. The Graphics look noticeably better then composite on a HDTV. Sound is also vastly improved, also very noticeable.

Great product, and worth it if you have an HDTV.

    Thumbs up :]

  1. does not work with my palm treo 700W, barely works with my samsung blackjack... works with my laptop...

  2. The Good:Easy setup to cellphone, excellent quality speaking and listening,
    just right volume level.
The Bad:Annoying tendency to pick up background noise(regardless
of DSP),tv,radio, air conditioning:often louder than voice.

  3. This is a great bluetooth headset - very easy to use, quite small and discreet, multiple charging options (big plus), and most importantly, it works very well! Call quality is superb, and my callers have said they can hear me better with the headset as opposed to talking directly into the phone! The earpiece is comfortable - lightweight, stays put, and easy on the ear.

I guess I bought this at the right time - paid less than half of what it's currently being sold for (purchased on Amazon a couple weeks ago). That being said, if I lose the one I bought (not out of the question - this thing is tiny), I'd spend the extra money to buy the same model again. Great product!

  4. I've found that the noise canceling feature doesn't really do much good. I'm not convinced that the noise canceling feature is worth the extra $10 I had to pay over a regular Plantronics bluetooth headset.

  5. I got this for about $40, and it is definitely worth that price. Decent battery life, it picks up my voice well enough, not quite as clear as I would like (though that could be due to my cell reception), but easier to hear than through my phone. It's not that uncomfortable, even when staying in my ear for a long time, as long as I don't touch it. As soon as I go to fiddle with it or try to set it in my ear more securely, it hurts. The included ear loop is a necessity, and doesn't really bug me. It's nice that it comes with three different ear buds, but it still won't just stick in your ear for a long period of time without the loop. For my first headset, it was definitely worth the price. If you're going to be paying up to $100 though, I might look for something a bit better.

5 comments about Neoflex HD Wall Mount Swing Arm, Silver.
  1. I did a lot of research on LCD TV mounts before I bought this one. I looked at the ones in the stores like Best Buy. But they were so expensive and I just could not justify them for use with my 32" 39Lb TV. So I decided on this one and I'm glad I did. This one has an extension arm but you can also use it without the arm. I liked that flexibility. Also even without the extension this mount provides side to side swing as well as tilt. Also it provides rotation which makes mounintg it even easier. I spent a lot of time making sure that the 2 mounting holes were perfectly virtical but it is not critical because you can rotate the TV to a perfect level position even if your 2 mounting holes are not perfectly virtical. All of the hardware for mouning was included and I even had hardware left over becasue the 100mm hole pattern on the mounting plate matched the pattern on my TV.

  2. Our biggest focus was finding a mount that would swivel, but wasn't extremely large or cumbersome and after much researching and debate, we finally settled on this mount. Overall, the value was fantastic, and the arm works great for being able to move the TV and making it viewable from almost any angle. As another poster mentioned, the mount can be used without the arm as well, though this does greatly reduce the amount of swivel available. This was also extremely easy to mount (it took all of 5 minutes) and the arm folds back so that it is hidden from view when the tv is not in use.

  3. AWESOME PRODUCT! My 32" Toshiba Regza Fits perfectly, only it doesnt do a complete 180 degrees on teh turns but that was expected with the 32". I'd say it does about a 120 degree turn point with the tv. Extremely well built product that holds more weight then listed, i was doing pull ups on it and i weigh 150lbs.

  4. When you unpack the Ergotron Neoflex HD Wall Mount, first thing that you notice is how well finished and well designed each part is. This is not your standard pot-metal or welded steel-pipe and plate wall mount. This mount is built from what appears to be high-quality aluminum castings with no rough edges whatsoever. Installation is very easy, but you do need to find the center of a stud. A good stud-finder is a must if you don't want to drill any unnecessary "test" holes in your wall. Also, everything you need is supplied in the hardware bag, so you won't be running down to the store to get a better lag-bolt, or some odd-size screw to fit your TV mounting holes. Once I mounted my 26" LCD display, I found that all adjustment are very smooth, and the tilt-adjustment locks down tightly with ease. If you are looking for a top-quality swing-arm type mount for your flat panel display in this size range, then look no further than the Ergotron Neoflex HD Wall Mount Swing Arm. What's best is that Amazon.com has it way cheaper than anyone else.

  5. I RESEARCHED MANY WALL MOUNTS BEFORE I MADE THIS PURCHASE.IT IS AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN ANY ON THE MARKET TODAY.IT WAS VERY EASY TO INSTALL.I MOUNTED A SONY 32 INCH LCD TV IN OUR BEDROOM AND WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THE END RESULTS.

5 comments about GN Netcom 9120-FLEX Wireless Headset with Noise-Canceling Flex Boom Headset.
  1. We have this headset at work & it sounds much better when hooked up with a "modern" phone. Hooked mine up to an old Bellsouth phone at home and it's been hard finding the "just right" settings.

  2. I picked up two of these headsets for use in our home office, on Cisco 7940 voip phones, and am very happy with them. I found nothing about their compatibility with Cisco phones, but was happy to find that they work great -- connected to the handset or headset port (there is a switch on the back of the base for different phone types, the Cisco headset port is wired differently than the handset port).

Highlights that I am happy with so far:
    * headset is remarkably light, barely noticeable when on
    * base is nice and sturdy -- solid weighted bottom thingy (the circular bit in the photo) and cable management is decent
    * it's pretty easy to get the headset off/on the base
    * battery is pretty easy to remove (it's accessible when you pull off the headset piece, which is how you switch between head and ear clip), and I've seen replacement batteries (if you need one) under twenty bucks

    Response to two complaints below:

    1) THE PHONE WORKS FINE WITH MULTI-LINE PHONES

The headset simply plugs in-line where the handset plugs in, so works with whatever settings your phone may have. It is not meant to replace the actual phone, it is simply an add-on wireless headset.

I've found that it works through the handset or headset jack on my Cisco 7940. If you have a remote lifter, it will simply lift the handset to answer your phone (your phone will answer whatever line was ringing, as if you just picked up your handset).

    2) MUST LIFT RECEIVER TO ANSWER CALLS
A remote lifter, which I use, is available for the headset. If a call comes in, you push a button on the headset and it remotely lifts the handset of your phone, answering the call. When you disconnect from your headset, it hangs up the phone. Again, this should work with multi-line phones (unless your phone requires pushing another button after answering a call).

If you don't have a remote lifter, you do have to push a button to answer the call -- but the remote lifter is only necessary if you're routinely answering calls out of distance of your phone. Also, you don't have to push a button every time -- if you leave it on the base, simply picking it up activates the headset... and putting it back deactivates the headset (furthermore, if you have a remote lifter, activating/deactivating the headset consequently picks up/hangs up the handset on your phone. (Note: these features are pretty standard among wireless headsets/lifters from most manufacturers)

  3. I am really really disappointed. They sent me the wrong one and I had to send it back

  4. The product works exactly as advertised. My aching neck seems to be a thing of the past.

  5. I found exactly what I needed to add wireless headset flexibility to our Zultys IP phone network. The sound is great and the signal works well in two-story environments as well as in our warehouse.

1 comments about iLive Boombox Portable Music System with CD Player and iPod Dock (Black).
  1. I just got this and am returning it, but I think lots of people will be satisfied with this if they want it for indoor use only and don't require a lot of bass. It appears to be more mid-range and not as much bass or enough high treble, if that's even the correct term. It actually sounds fine though - I think I'm just picky and prefer that type of sound (I imagine the sound looking like an hourglass, the way I like it; top heavy and bottom heavy!).

It's great that it has a docking station which doesn't force the ipod to stick up too high/vulnerably, although my ipod didn't sit in there terribly snugly (but well enough I'm sure), and that it has am/fm tuner and c.d. player, I like the way the c.d. player is the slot-loading kind (again, probably not getting the terminology right, sorry). I wasn't impressed with the reception of the FM tuner though...although it wasn't terrible it was far from good, and I never did try AM.

It takes a while to turn the volume up or down and there's no mute button so you can't turn it down in a hurry if you need to. You have to hit the button repeatedly and quickly and hope that's fast enough (you can also hold it down but that takes even longer). The pre-set EQ options aren't very impressive. Why can't they just give us old-fashioned dials for volume or tuners instead of digital buttons, and why can't they just give us treble and bass dials for us to manipulate ourselves? So frustrating!

The unit looks really cool and feels good to carry and the handle is nice. The only problem I have in terms of looks is that the front is so nice and shiny and glossy that it will get scratched REALLY easily (not the biggest deal in the world) and in fact mine came with a light to medium-sized scratch straight from the factory. If it weren't for the average/mediocre sound, I'd keep it regardless of the scratch.

Unfortunately the only other boomboxes out there that are louder with more base are only two models: one that is ipod/MP3 player only (a dock with lots of power coming out of those speakers but has no tuner or c.d. player) and one that has it all including ipod hook-up but no dock/cradle to keep it in as part of the entire unit (i.e. it's off to the side, hooked up by a cord plugged into the boombox). It's mind-boggling to me that at this time there STILL isn't a loud, powerful boombox that has at least a tuner (with good reception, at that) AND that has a docking station that securely holds your ipod in place without it sticking up awkwardly!

Bottom line, for not being a fancy brand name or a unit that is known for being super loud, it's not bad. I may be pickier than some and require a lot more bass and treble than perhaps the average listener. I think this would be really, really nice for someone who just wants to hear decent sounding music (it's not bad - just not great) and have the options it offers. I also like that I can spontaneously hook it up to my laptop if I wanted, to get more sound than the laptop speakers provide (without having to commit to the set-up of computer speakers). It's a nice size (not too big or small), looks nice and sounds pretty good inside the house - just not a lot of bass (for me). It would be great for an office or kitchen and probably great outdoors if it's just you on a balcony reading a book as opposed to being the source of music at at a back yard BBQ full of chatty people...the music just wouldn't be loud enough.

Anyway I hope this info helps! I know finding reviews on this at this point in time is almost impossible since this is so new.

p.s. finding info on how many watts is IMPOSSIBLE to do online. I had to call the company and was transferred to a few people before they finally found someone who could tell me (after mine had already been shipped - but at least I asked!) that it's 16 watts total (either 4, 4, and 8 or 6, 6 and 4 - can't remember which).
