5 comments about Kensington 62530 Contour Balance Notebook Computer Roller Bag.
  1. I could not wait for this bag to arrive when I ordered it online. And, I bought this bag at 50% off!

I love this bag and its very roomy for its size, perfect for women.

    LOVE IT!

  2. Although I purchased this bag last year, I just started using it exactly one month ago. I traveled with it for a week and, since I'm a student, have been using it as a book bag ever since. To my shock, it suddenly ripped about 4" along the zipper - doubtless from my overloading it, but it should have been better made. I will never buy anything from Kensington again.

  3. I wish there were photos of the insides on Amazon or Kensington's website. It has more room than I thought it would. The back is especially roomy - it's divided by the handle assembly, bit there's exactly enough room for my Bose QuietComfort2 case on one side and my laptop powerbrick and food on the other side.
The inside main compartment has enough room for TWO 15" computers (although only one would be padded), plus a few folders, mags or paperback books. Based on the ads and some other comments, I thought the styling might be too "girly", but it's not. The strap is hard to remove, so I just keep it short and leave it on. I was able to use the strap to attach it on my main luggage for wheeling through the airport. By itself, the handle is a good length (I'm 5'8").

  4. I read other people's reviews and decided to try this bag. Can't say enough good about it. Light, stable, fits in the car good. Handy compartments. Agree the shoulder strap is hard to remove...I've solved that - I just leave it on there. It's a good bag, I'd recommend it.

  5. I am a consultant and travel widely. This means long corridors to flight gates, long waits for various strip searches and flight boarding, long queues at immigration control, and long queues to get taxis.

I have tried several shoulder strap computer bags. They all had irritating defects which can be summarised as POOR DESIGN: they were shapeless, did not stand up but rather fell over, lacked storage space, or had too much space in the wrong places, didn't have wheels, had wheels but were too heavy and too big, had the dreaded two handles that just don't want to stay together, etc. And had no convenient place for your passport. Nothing's more irritating than standing at passport control and having either to constantly bend down to pick up a bag with evasive handles that keeps tipping over, or having it drag your shoulder and spine out of whack.

I needed a lightweight compact roller bag large enough to hold my business paraphernalia for full office autonomy but no more (for longer trips, clothing and non business paraphernalia goes in a separate Travelpro 22" inflight roller suitcase but that's another story).

After careful study, I bought this bag and am happy with it. Here's why:

The main compartment holds a laptop plus charger, mouse, and files. The laptop fits in the main compartment and is suspended internally to avoid direct shocks. The mouse and charger fits in a Eagle Creek mini tube vertically off to one side. So the basics are all in one place. The file compartment is large enough to carry a few files (bulky files on long trips go in the Travelpro). This leaves enough room to carry say a toiletry kit or a gift the size of a whisky bottle horizontally on the top of the laptop and files.

Between the main compartment and front compartment, is a small "pocket"; to hold a travel wallet. The wallet is always ready for passport checks, which avoids panic searches. It is an odd pocket confusingly situated near the main pocket, which in a way means it is concealed by virtue of its oddity. Since the travel wallet means nothing is in my pockets, I avoid the "emptying the pockets circus trick ritual" when going through airport check in and scanners.

The front compartment is well organised with various pockets that hold USB tools (two mobile phones, Sony MP3 player & earphones, USB stick, and pens, in the top row; business card holders, and credit card wallet in the bottom row). I also put a red plastic shoe horn in so I can get my flipping shoes back on to my swollen feet during the "obligatory shoe removal disco ritual" when going through the scanners.

There's a second half-size front compartment large enough to hold a sleeping mask, inflatable pillow, or paperback for flight access, or few sheets of toilet paper for those exotic locales.

The oft criticised rear compartment is unfairly maligned. The mesh pockets on each side of the telescopic handle each hold a metallic sunglass case. Two Eagle Creek quarter cubes then fit in over the mesh pockets. One holds PC connectivity stuff, the other digital camera stuff. The rear centre pocket holds a calculator. This still leaves enough room for a newspaper or two as padding. The cubes are easy to pack, nothing gets lost since every object has a home and this means never having to hunt for anything.

The shoulder strap attachment is awkward only if you plan to remove it and since I don't, this design flaw is irrelevant although the plastic is cheap and incongruous. The contour profile of the back of the bag really does ease the discomfort of the strap pulling on your shoulder.

The telescopic T-handle is comfortable, works well and is sturdy. Its single tube construction means that it not only takes up less space in the rear compartment, it prevents the tottering movement of a bag pulled by a twin telescopic tube handle. The fact the rear compartment is slightly exposed when the handle is up is a non issue since all electrical components are protected by the Eagle Creek cubes. Finally, the handle when extended is useful to park a blazer and panama hat on when waiting in transit lounges.

The plastic wheels are sturdy shock absorbing roller blade types, encased in a plastic base with a front ledge to ensure the bag is level at rest. The base is waterproof and wipes clean with a damp cloth.

The rear of the bag has a sturdy strap which enables it to slide over the pull up handle of the Travelpro securely and rest on the suitcase stably.

The bag is no wider than the Travelpro, and is narrow enough so that you can pull it down economy class airplane aisles without hitting the armrests.

The centre handle, for when the pull up handle is not in use, is a single handle; soft and retracts when not in use.

The full bag is not excessively heavy, and is small enough for regional aircraft bin racks.

My only comment is that there is nowhere to attach your house keys for easy access. I jury rigged a solution by fastening a metal click-release keyloop to the bag with wire (inside the main compartment of the bag off to the left of the laptop). I also fear the stitching may not hold up over time, especially the liner material of the travel wallet compartment and zippers.

This bag has greatly facilitated my travelling organisation as well as wear and tear on my shoulders and back. It is lightweight yet seems sturdily built. It enforces packing discipline to the absolute essentials. Unless it breaks, it seems to be the perfect mobile companion for a consultant.

  1. I bought these and was very disappointed. I had the same problem as mentioned in a previous review. They wouldn't stay in my ear and it was a pain getting them on. I think they have TOO many adjustments. I feel like the sound quality is awful. Perhaps I had a particular bad set but the high notes were piercing and the low notes were non-existent. By the time I was done with my workout I had a headache. I sent these back. If you are discerning in your audio, especially music, I would not buy these. They may be fine for audio books. I didn't try that.

  2. I have tried several and these are the best for me. Very adjustable, lightweight and serve the purpose of providing music while working out! I'm not looking for high quality sound or noise cancellation here.
Great for smaller ears! I have the Sennhiser PMX70 (around the back of the head with the green cord) and they kill after 20 mins. Too big. Ouch.

  3. I liked the fancy white to go with my green nano. The sound is great and the fit is too. I have small ears and these stay put BUT the damb cord! It's short for arm band users with an extension for waist lenth. The extension part makes it heavier and now it bounces down until it starts to pull at my ears. ANNOYING! I have to readjust the cord each half mile or so.

  4. I'm shocked at how horrible these earphones are, give then price and given they are from Nike. For daily use and around the gym they're comfortable to wear and almost unnoticeable, but the earbuds sit so far out the ear that you have to turn the volume up a lot to drown out the music they're playing in the gym. For running they are completely useless. The constant bouncing of running caused them to fall out in minutes and unless you carefully manage the cord, the slight weight of the cord bouncing caused them to fall out immedatiately.

Someone at Nike needs to be fired.

  5. I bought these headphones to try something different from standard apple headphones. but - how disappointing - and bordering to misleading.
The "extendible" feature is a very heavy metal connector which makes these phones unusable for anything like running or biking. Also the behind the ear foldable things keep on getting tangled up. Back to basic apple headphones for me.

5 comments about Sanus Systems LCD Mount with Articulating Arm 13" to 30" Displays.
  1. We looked for this and found in a store for double the price of Amazon. We have a 13" flat screen. It took my husband about 15 minutes to attach to the wall. It works great!

  2. The tilt mechanism would not hold up a 16 lb. 20 inch LCD, even though it says it supports up to 30 lbs. The bolt that is supposed to be locked in the factory was failing. Called the company and they sent a replacement mechanism, which was scratched and used. That too failed. I tried to explain this to the woman on the phone but she was very rude, not helpful and very defensive. She tried to tell be I wasn't tightening it properly. I told her I could tork on it for five hours and it wouldn't help because it was the factory bolt that was failing. I can't understand how a company like this can have such crude support and products. It's a pretty simple concept and I didn't expect it to drag on for three weeks.

  3. received it in 3 working days real good price going to use it on my boat was like advertised

  4. I bought this mount for my RV and so far it has worked out well. Very well made.

  5. The tilt mechanism is poorly designed and is essentially worthless. I attached a Vizio 26" TV (16 lbs) and the VM3B won't hold the screen at the angle I want. The VM3B is supposedly rated to hold up to 30 lbs.

At first I just cranked the large "Wing-Nut" as tight as I could with my fingers. Then I resorted to using a pair of plyers and tighten it as far as I dare without breaking off the "wings" and it still won't hold the screen. Sanus needs to use serrated teeth in order for the tilt mechanism to work correctly.

I've had to resort to wedging a piece of stiff foam in between the TV and the wall to keep the TV at the desired angle.

    Spend your money elsewhere.

3 comments about Channel Vision IR Distribution System.
  1. After much shopping for IR systems, this one looked to be the most cost effective for my simple in-cabinet setup.

There is no lag going through the system, and it is simple to setup. Just be warned that the cord from the IR Sensor to the main unit is only 36 inches long, and doesn't unplug from the main unit. If you need a longer run, or need to fish it through a hole smaller than 1/4", you should look at other units.

I have to subtract a point since the manufacturer failed to include the mounting hardware. Smart Home is taking care of it, and has promised to ship the mounting hardware to me as soon as possible, or a replacement unit.

  2. This kit is very easy to set up, cables are plenty long, and the components are small and easy to mount. This kit can control four in-cabinet devices, and is expandable for four more. If you want to hide a cable box, DVD player, etc. and don't know where to start, just buy this kit. But, unpack the items carefully or you may overlook the mounting "holsters", etc. that are in the bottom of the package under a small card.

  3. I had a problem with my DirecTv remote control. The solution: This excelente set. I installed and my problem vanished.

Recomended for all Plasma and LCD TV's owners.

5 comments about Sony MDR-DS3000 Infrared Wireless Digital Surround Headphones.
  1. The MDR-DS3000 sound great and are fairly comfortable. With the surround system on (even at low levels) it would keep my kids up later than we wanted. Now I can crank up the movies without bothering anyone. Only two minor annoyances. 1) getting the headphones on the charger just right is trickier than it should be, 2) with the IR connection I have to keep the dog from walking around while viewing the movie.

  2. The ds3000 works well but is limited! The sound is great when dolby is present but don't move your head too much or you will loose sound and under some situations will become scratchy. All in all I like them because it does the job for me. When my wife is working in the kitchen in our small house in Arizona I miss some of the words. Don't be afraid to buy this product!

  3. The sound quality is good, but the volume control could be easier to move. Also when charging the phones, you have to do a lot of fussing around to get contact with the base, and then one side is hanging off the unit at an angle.

  4. These are great for people who live in apartments but still want to watch tv and movies or play video games at night.
The surround effect actually works for thx/dts movies with the supplied optical cable.

  5. This is the only way to hear every word spoken on TV. Great tone.

  1. I've owned several XFX products, and they all have been of exceptional quality. This one is also a solid product with a great price and a DOUBLE LIFETIME warranty.

While it's not a particularly powerful card, it is probably the best of the few dual-DVI or dual-VGA capable low-profile PCI Express x16 cards on the market.

This particular product, as ordered, includes the low-profile bracket but does not include a dual-VGA cable. Instead, there is a DVI-to-VGA adapter to allow you to attach VGA monitors.

  1. This is a really good quality cable, 10ft long for both component av cable and the usb cable. The wire is pretty strong, it won't break or damage at all by normal use. most component cable says can support 1080i but this one can support full hd at 1080p. I don't know it is true or not. I only have a 720p hd tv and it works pretty good. I believe this cable pack worth 40~50 bucks. First I went to target and they ask for $70 which is too much. Then I checked amazon which ask only $30, no tax, free shipping. Great deal.

3 comments about Sony VHS Cassettes 160 Minute (8-Pack).
  1. The quality in EP is terrible. Its dark and fuzzy. Stick with the 6 hours(sony).

  2. I wish there was a negative star rating. Bought 150+ videocassettes Sony brand, before learning that they were all [garbage]. In SP mode, very poor (wavery, then poor pic quality, and quick wear-out). In EP mode, COMPLETELY UNUSABLE (white fuzz and tracking chaos). Our tapes came from a number of different stores, both local and internet. Variant Sony VHS products as well, although mostly their so-called premium quality line. EVERY tape was bad. The only common denominator was that they were being output by a factory (or factories) in Mexico. Sony have little to do with making these tapes, I think, other than slapping their name on them, and tricking the consumer. We own a Sony VHS player, a Sony DVD player, and a Sony mini-stereo system. But our Sony electronics purchases, those already came slightly previous in time to all the torture Sony caused us with their Heche en Mexico landfill fillers that they call vhs tapes. It's confusing why Sony have chosen this route of using -- and trashing -- their name/image in order to dump this broken junk on the quick buy market. Shouldn't they realize that it will just make folks hesitant then to go for the major purchases of the Sony name? Or do they expect us to somehow know in advance when it's a real Sony product or when it's just Sony conning us?

  3. I've used these video cassettes for years. I've always loved that I can fit so many hours onto one cassette. They are also great for repeated recording, if you like to record shows you miss while you're at work, then tape over those episodes with the latest episodes week after week. The quality is great compared to every other brand of video cassette that I've tried, which is every brand sold in Wal-Mart, Target, and Big Lots. I can't imagine why the other two reviewers had problems with these; they're probably using old or dirty VCRs. If you have the problems that the previous reviewers have had, use a VCR cleaner. . . or maybe it's just time to buy a new VCR. All videos play badly on old or dirty players, but these have always worked as well as pre-recorded videos in almost all conditions.
