- Do a review online and you will find that this phone over is one of the few that protects the phone all round including the button and the top part of the screen. This is not the case for most covers which only protects the edges of the phone. Highly recommended.
- nice product, fits the 3G iphone very well, excellent protection, white is good in that you can always SEE your iphone. I would buy again.
- This case covers the iphone sensors. Most of the times, I have to remove the part of the case that covers the sensors to be able to have access to the home screen-a somewhat annoying process-
If I had an option, I'd buy a case that does not have the sensors' holes.

5 comments about Brenthaven Pro 15-17 Backpack for MacBook Pro and Powerbook 15-17".
-
After searching for literally the last month, I have to say I am happy with my purchase of my Brenthaven Pro. This pack is the only one for under a hundred bucks (shop around) that I really trust with my MBP. The protective padding around the computer is tough and thick all over. The oversized zippers seem very secure. With the lifetime guarantee, the bag is worth the money. The looks aren't super cool, but that helps when you're on-site all day and don't want people to know what is in your bag. It is an understated powerhouse.
- I own a Macbook Pro 15" and wanted a bag to carry around my laptop. I will use the bag mostly for use from home to coffee shops, to the office, and occasionally traveling.
Some of my requirements for my bag were:
1. HIGH protection. I've seen ugly dents on other peoples macbooks, and didn't want that to happen to mine. (I guess that's one of the drawbacks of having an all metal exposed casing/chassis.)
2. Can carry my stuff when I work - iPod/harddrive, a couple of reference books, power cable, usb drive, papers, CDs, etc.
3. Looks professional (more of a want that a requirement.)
Because of these requirements, I almost immediately went to the Brenthaven line. I did a lot of research, and found that Brenthaven's CORE protection system is pretty good - even though there may be a design flaw for this particular backpack.
I wanted a messenger bag because I think they can carry more stuff, and they definitely look more professional than a backpack, however, I decided that carrying around a heavy laptop with some books and other junk would get really tiring, even with a well designed messenger bag.
I decided upon getting the pro 15-17 backpack. In retrospect, it might have also been a good idea to get an EDGE II carrying case and stick that in a TREK expandable backpack, but the pro 15-17 ended up being a blend of those two, so I went with it.
PROS:
The case is well designed, and doesn't look like anything will fall apart. The straps are well padded and look like they may even stand up to the added stress of using only one strap slung over the shoulder. (I've had other backpacks' straps tear at the top over time with repeated use, and this Brenthaven looks like it will be just fine.)
There are lots of usable pockets. There is the main padded and armored compartment for your laptop. There is a lot of padding and looks like it will keep your laptop safe in most falls. I feel totally comfortable dropping the backpack onto it's padded bottom from 18" high. There is a possible problem with the top of the laptop compartment, please see the "cons" section. There is a place to store some papers/folders/magazines in the same compartment.
Then there is the other main compartment which could probably swallow up another 17" laptop, although this compartment isn't padded.
The front compartment has a bunch of little built in pockets to organize smaller items like pens, iPods/iPhones, portable drives, cables, knick knacks, etc. There's also a built in key lanyard. There is also a dedicated power cable compartment on the front of this compartment.
There's are also little connection points on the straps and the side of the laptop to connect little phone clips, or other bags. Very cool if you want to add on to the carrying capacity or functionality of this bag.
The build quality and materials are top notch. The backing is well padded along with the straps, and carrying it for extended periods (1 hour standing around) hasn't brought any stress to me or the pack.
CONS:
The top of the laptop compartment is padded, but with a small piece of padding that looks like it's about half the size it needs to be in order to protect the laptop if the bag should tumble over onto the top of the backpack. I carefully try to fold that padding over and then zip up the compartment to hold the padding in place, but it still looks like you're gonna gamble if the bag should tumble over on to the top. Still, it's better protection than most bags I found.
The straps are adjustable, which is good. The straps are strapped to themselves which prevents the straps from falling off, which is good. Unfortunately, if you adjust the straps to a smaller size, the straps kinda hang loose a little. A little unpleasant aesthetically, but otherwise, doesn't bother me. :p (small nit pick.)
Overall a good all around carrying bag with high protection. Worth the money, but in retrospect, might get a sleeker protective sleeve (edge) and a larger carrying bag.
- This bag is a perfect fit for the MacBook Pros, both 15 and 17". There's a 2 inch cushion block that goes in the bottom for the 15", or comes out for the 17". It's comfortable to wear on your shoulder, and holds more than I have to put in it. I have the Macbook Pro 17', a mouse, a few cables, a few spare blank DVD-R's and CD-R's, my digital camera, spare memory cards, USB thumb drives, pens, power adapter for the computer, portable power strip, a couple magazines, etc. and I still have plenty of room for more stuff!
- I often travel on Amtrak and I used to have a messenger-style bag that I carried my PB G4 around in. I kept the laptop in a REI sleeve that fits the PB nicely. However, I have about a 1/2 hr walk to the train station and I soon found out how un-ergonomic my bag was for me. After trip to the chiropractor, I went in search of a good laptop backpack. I looked at some bags at a couple of stores and was disappointed at their lack of meaningful protection for the laptop. It seemed as though "style" had won out over practicality.
I found the Brenthaven on Amazon and hesitated because of the price and I wasn't sure if it would meet my needs. Anyway, I decided to take a chance. If it did fit the bill, it would be cheaper than a couple of visits to the chiropractor!
I've now been using the bag for 4 months and it's really proving itself to have been a wise purchase. I still use the REI laptop sleeve instead of the rigid sleeve that comes with the bag, mainly because I like it better and it fits in the bag perfectly.
Pros:
The bag is comfortable and the straps are easily tightened or loosened.
Lots of pockets and nooks and crannies to stow whatever you need for your commute (even enough room for a few clothes).
Finish quality is very good and the zippers work easily.
It's not a popular brand (like Targus), so it doesn't say to people on the street "expensive laptop inside"
Cons:
Only one so far (and this is minor) is that the pad that rests up against your back is some kind of material that really holds body heat and it gets pretty warm during a brisk forced march to the train station (in warm weather, of course). It's actually an item for the Pro column in cold weather!
I have not had the experience that a couple of other reviewers have had with their bags taking a header off an airport cart, but I can see where that would be an issue with this bag. The sleeve that I'm using would probably give a bit more protection in a fall like that, but I hope to not test that out anytime soon!
Overall, a very nice quality bag that fits my needs.
- PROS:
-It's large, relatively comfortable, with more pockets than a single person would likely ever need.
CONS:
-A rather "vanilla" appearance for a $100+ bag, though, I'm glad it was cheaper at Amazon because I wouldn't have paid what other online retailers were asking. I even had trouble justifying Amazon's price, but I needed a good, proven bag for my laptop and there aren't many in this price range.
ETC:
-I should have looked at the measurements before purchasing... it's gigantic. Somewhat awkward looking.

5 comments about Sabrent SBT-USC6M Hi-Speed USB 2.0 to Serial (9-pin) DB-9 RS-232 Adapter Cable (BLUE).
- Product worked with my window XP desktop and with my Laptop(vista)
great product and was shipped on time. I did email a tech at sabrent to verfify weather it would work with vista or not and response was fast.
Thank you
- The product packaging and accompanying software looks shoddy--no brand name, or contact information of any kind; not even a web site or a copyright notice. The mini-CD directory is skimpy and confusing in regard to Vista installs. When something didn't work, I finally discovered email by searching for the purchased product on the web--the email response was unhelpful in the extreme.
HOWEVER, I figured out the problem (another program was trying to use the same port), and in general Vista had no problems with installing and managing the device. In summary, it does exactly what I needed it to do, and so far with no problems.
- I give this product 1 star for the following reasons:
* Driver CD was updated in 2003, 5 years ago. The included drivers don't even work with Windows XP, let alone Vista.
* No URL for the web site to download newer drivers. If you look on the CD to find the manufacturer (it's not on the packaging), then do a Google search, you can find some newer drivers to download and install.
* Once newer drivers are installed, the device is identified correctly. However, it still failed to work for my uses, b/c the serial software I was using needed to be able to query the serial port for a Baud rate (pretty standard requirement for serial communications), and the cable or driver doesn't support that. I realize this product may work for other uses, but it didn't for mine.
I've used a different USB to Serial cable for the same use, and it worked fine - my advice is to spend the money on a better one from a reputable manufacturer.
I was eventually able to solve my problem another way without using this product; fortunately TigerDirect was courteous and helpful when returning it.
- Desperate, I managed to locate this product on Amazon.com, and after consulting a couple of tech-type friends, decided to give it a try.
Net result: problem solved!
My "ancient" Palm IIIxe has a cradle that requires what I now know to be a serial connection to a computer. I thought all computers had these corresponding connections - not so. My new desktop has only USB connections. Hrumph.
My Palm has been an orphan for several months, but this spiffy little cable has joined my dusty old Palm cradle and my shiny new computer, allowing me to once again sync all of my handheld data with the desktop. Huzzah!
If your older Palm machine can't connect to your new computer, this cable might just solve your problem, too.
The other reviewers are correct: there's scant info of any sort in the "no-brand" package, and the mini CD was useless. It did nothing as far as I could tell.
My installation: I connected the cable to a USB port, and Windows Vista immediately began "installing" the cable. It automatically searched online at Windows Update (always scary) and apparently found an appropriate driver. It downloaded and installed the driver all on its own, and in a matter of seconds, my new cable was ready to connect to my old Palm cradle. Voila. :)
Bottom line: Works just as advertised, hasn't whipped across the room and hurt anyone, nor has it exploded, nor laughed at my poor spelling and typing, nor offended me in any way!
- I tried to use this with a Vista/64 box. There are no vista drivers for it, and none available from the web. The 64 bit drivers on the disk do not work with Vista; the XP drivers do not work with Vista/64.

5 comments about Creative Lab Zen V and V Plus Bundled Home Travel Wall Charger and 12v Rapid Cigarette Lighter Adapter Charger.
- Great product! Great price! A little slow shipping it to me, but I didn't pay for a quicker drop either. :)
- I bought this adapter and used it and it ruined my player. I contacted the company and got no response. Avoid this product!
- Used the wall charger once (it worked), then went to use it a second time and the connector (at the end of the cord that connects to mp3 player) was broken and wouldn't attach to mp3 player (wouldn't insert far enough). Metal connector slides in/out of plastic housing. Was finally able to insert it, but only with using pliers to grip it tightly after pulling the metal connector all the way out. I should have known you get what you pay for. This set cost so little I might just throw out the wall charger.
- Both the wall and car units will charge my Creative Zen V Plus MP3 player and my Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS. Neither unit will charge my Palm T22 PDA. So, I am partially satisfied.
- The chargers works well for the zenv 8gb. Now I can listen to my music on my stereo and in car without worrying about dead battery!

5 comments about Mobile Edge SecurePack 17" Backpack ( Black/Yellow ).
- A colleague recommended the Mobile Edge SecurePack 17" Backpack to me to carry my new (huge) laptop, so I purchased it. I excitedly opened the box and started filling up the backpack with all the necessities of my mobile office: laptop, battery charger, extra disks, books, pencils, PDA, file folders, digital camera, flashlight, mouse, mouse pad, etc., etc. To my dismay, I was only able to fit a fraction of the things I needed to carry around into this backpack.
The idea of making it impossible to get into the backpack unless it has been removed from your shoulder is brilliant, and the product is constructed of excellent materials. However, it was quite a bit short on storage space for my needs, so I regrettably had to return it. If the manufacturers could somehow make it larger while still keeping the overall design within proportion, I reckon they would have a winner of a product.
- I myself have a Sony Vaio AR series laptop, 17" screen, and had the hardest time finding a backpack style bag that could hold my laptop. I had purchased other bags that said they would hold a 17" screen and ended up returning them as they could never close. After doing searching online, I found this bag on the manufacturer's website and finally found it. They even provided dimensions of the laptop compartment so I can best determine if this would work. I must say, it is a little tight of a fit, but its the best fit I've found and the bag actually can close without any issues or forcing it. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for this particular of bag that are having a hard time finding something to hold a 17" screen, especially a AR series Vaio. I use this solely for my laptop and accessories, and would be unable to judge its effectiveness for school to carry books with the laptop.
- This is definitely one of the best laptop bags I have tried. I just purchased a 17.1" Gateway FX series laptop and it was hard to find a perfect bag for it. This was definitely it.
My problem with most bags out there is the excess size of the bag hanging out when the bag is empty or even partially full. This bag however fixes that problem. It keeps the bag together and up against your back. The padding on your back side makes it comfortable to walk around without a hard surface (Laptop) against your back.
One thing I would have changed on the bag is the file-like pockets inside the bag. There is no bottom to them, so if you are trying to put small items in them, they will likely find their way to the bottom of the bag. However if you are putting books or folders, then you have no problem :).
5 Stars to a great bag :)
- I am a college student and generally I ride my motorcycle to class, this pack is great because I'm confident my papers won't be flying out everywhere. When there's bad weather I ride the bus, so it's nice to have this backpack so I know nothing will be stolen out of my backpack by someone behind me.
I have my Asus Eee PC in it, which is way to small for the laptop compartment (two or three Eee PCs could fit in there!) In the middle compartment, however, there is a mesh zipper pocket that is EXACTLY the size of my Eee PC. It's perfect and snug!
I currently have three textbooks, my laptop, some lab glasses, pencils, and a reading book all in there and there's still more room.
The only downsides are that I'm a 5'4 girl and this backpack is really big and a strap goes exactly around my waist at belt height, so it's a bit awkward with my center of gravity. I don't have any problems when I'm riding but when I'm walking, I feel really top heavy.
My husband says I look like a little turtle with it on, and I have the black one! Though the black looks pretty professional, I wish it came in brighter colors so I could be more viable on my motorcycle. There are yellow reflective stripes, but making the entire thing reflective would have been even more perfect.
Overall, great backpack and exactly what I needed!
- I've really enjoyed this product and it does a great job of protecting my notebooks as well. I've had notebooks ranging from 9" Sonys to 17" MacBook Pros in this puppy and they all fit snuggly. I really like the fact that most of the zippers are secured away when you are wearing the pack... perfect for those public transportation rides. The pack is also very comfortable to wear and sometimes I forget that I even have it on (when I have smaller notebooks in it of course). I also get compliments all the time about the pack from people walking around Downtown... which never hurts.

5 comments about Koss UR40 Collapsible Over-Ear Headphones.
- Comfortable, light weight & provide good range as used primarily with an iPod, MP3 player or desktop CD drive. Using these players the Koss UR40's will not handle the dynamic high/low end ranges from Telarc's "1812 Overture;" otherwise, the headphones give a fair accounting. EMI's "Most Relaxing Classical Album in the World" has never sounded better at work from the CD drive. A friend was amazed at the clarity when used with his iPod & said he had to purchase the UR40. They are not high-end quality, but an exceptional value for the price & highly recommended.
- I needed a set of headphones for travel purposes, so I was looking for:
(1) Collapsible
(2) Comfortable to wear for long periods
(3) Not too much sound leakage, nor completely noise-canceling
(4) Solid sound quality
These headphones do fine on all 4 counts. The treble is not great, but it's not bad either, and the headphones are really comfortable. Compared to the Sennheiser PX-100s, these Koss headphones don't fold up into as tiny a unit and are a touch behind in sound quality. In the end, I went with these over those Sennheisers because of the noise issue, since these Koss headphones are better at keeping outside sounds out and inside sounds in, in my opinion. If you're not as concerned about the noise issue, I'd give the nod to the PX-100s over this one.
- I bought these headphones about 5 years ago from a (now defunct) local CompUSA. They were bargain bin items at the time, and I picked them up for about 25$. For the price, this may have been the single best purchase of my life.
The sound quality is as stated in other reviews, not "audiophile grade" but certainly better than expected from a 25-40$ headphone.
What surprised me was their durability. These headphones have spent every single day of the last 5 years in and out of my (soft) laptop case/backpack, stuck between 2 hard drive enclosures and random other junk.
About a year ago, the right can's cable worked its way loose from the stress relief grommet. The can still worked fine. After another year of my habitual "wind it around the folded headphones" cable storage method, it finally let loose and shorted the right ear.
After 5 years.
All the paint has worn off them, and they're now white instead of silver. The vinyl covering the foam has held up perfectly, which is amazing considering my hair has destroyed 6 sets of headphone's covers in far less time (6 months or less).
Still, all of this in a sub-40$ headphone? The only reason I haven't taken advantage of the warranty is that I'm fairly impressed at what it took to kill them, and am considering just replacing these and keeping them as tribute.
- I actually owned a pair of these before, which I bought at our local Radio Shack. Unfortunately, I managed to close my font door on the cord through my own stupidity, then proceeded to tug on it like an idiot until it severed, hence requiring me to buy a replacement pair, which is, to an extent, beside the point, but not quite.
See, I loved these headphones enough to gladly buy the exact same make to replace my lost pair. They might not jolly the rogers of really hardcore audiophiles, but for a casual music fanatic like my self, they're exemplary. Certainly the best headphones I've ever owned. The sound is clear, and certainly surpasses the quality of any cheapo pair you could ever buy. I've found that it retains sound quality even at high volumes, and the over-the-ear design is both comfortable, and forms a certain barrier against outside noises. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten lost in my music during a long walk around the lake, or to work, thanks to these. Interestingly enough--and this might sound silly--but my favorite part though, has to be the mesh hammock. I have a peculiar head shape, and the nerves of my scalp and skull are so sensitive that even light pressure can give me migraines. Regular headphone bands are painful, and padded ones, only slightly less so (usually I find the cushion to be stiff, uncomfortable, and only a source of added pressure, but the unique mesh really gives the sensation that you're not wearing them at all. Even it's slightly clunky appearance is endearing in my opinion; my huge silver UR40s are my most noticeable fashion statement, and everyone knows me as the girl who wanders Magnolia with her headphones.
I'll probably trade up to something better eventually, I'm sure, when I have the time and money to really go shopping, but for now, the UR40s are all I could ever ask for.
- I really recommend buy this headphone. Excellent sound output at this price. There are 2 reasons for me not giving this product a 5 star rating is..
1) Little too bulky although collapsible.
2) There is no microphone built with it. Other products like Planotronics have microphones along with the headphone at the same price.

5 comments about Startech.com 4 Port IEEE-1394 FireWire PCI Card with Digital Video Editing Kit ( PCI1394_4 ).
- This card was easy to install and works well. The included software and cable are acceptable as well.
- The card was super easy to install and works great. Can't be much simpler than that!
- This is a great deal for a firewire port and cable. Came quickly, no problems. The Ulead software is almost useless if you have Windows Moviemaker, but it's nice that they throw that in there anyway. I haven't fully explored it, but it didn't seem as good to me. Overall, great deal!
- I bought this card for use with my mini-DV camcorder. The card worked flawlessly and was true plug and play right out of the box (atleast on Windows XP Professional). The only issue I had was with the supplied ULead software which required a license key that was not included in the package. I emailed StarTech customer service and they sent a key promptly. However the ULead software was buggy and had issues with playing audio during preview. So I use Windows movie maker to transfer video from the camcorder. I am extremely happy with StarTech but not satisfied with ULead software.
- I use a Mac G4 Power Mac for video editing and was looking for a quick fix when my firewire400 died. I ordered and received this card within a week. Installation was a breeze and I was up and running in under 15 minutes. No drivers, no fuss. Just plug and play. I've done a few short subjects with this card and so far so good. I didn't bother with the Ulead software, as I already have video editing software.
