- I had high hopes that I could use this headset for skype and with my blackberry. It works, but it is not as seamless as Plantronics claims. In fact, I cannot get it to connect with my Blackberry Curve unless I go through the Blackberry menus and select "connect" every time. Audio quality is good with skype. But the bluetooth connection to my Blackberry is full of static unless I keep the phone on the same side of my body as the headset.
I bought this becuase I wanted to carry around a single headset when I travel. Well, I will keep using it for skype because it works well. But I am going to go back to my old, trust Motorolla headset for use with my phone.
- I bought this item specifically for use with Skype and couldnt be happier. Sound quality on this headset is the best I have had since using Skype two years ago. Most clients have no clue that I am on a headset and nobody has complained of poor audio quality since purchasing this unit. Highly recommended from this user!
- Overall a good unit for the money. There is no MUTE button on the headset, in spite of references to it in the user manual. Sound quality is generally good. Sometimes you get intermittent static. But it interfaces well with Skype.

5 comments about Memorex OPTIFIX PRO ET REFILL KIT ( 32028027 ).
- Memorex has an excellent product in the Optifix Pro disc cleaning system. First, it is simple to use, my twelve year old son uses it. Also, it has saved quite a few of my expensive CD's, DVD's, and data discs. To be honest, I have not used any other products of this type, but this one certainly lives up to the manufactures claim that it will fix most damaged discs! I highly recommend this product if you own any substantial quantity of DVD's or CD's, and wish to extend their usefulness. Great product!
- These are a "must have" if you own this cleaning system. They really work quite well with the intended "Optifix-pro' cleaning device and are needed , as you only can use the repair discs about 20 times before they will start to scratch this dics themselves. Great for discs that just won't play anymore or skip in places..this system does the job!
- It's a good product for the most basic general cleaning. The pads have a limitted life span and the skip that I had on a DVD that I was trying to repair .... well it still skips.
- Cleans ups DVDs rec'd from Netflix, so there is less skipping or problems with playback.
- This really fixed the unit right up and it began cleaning and "fixing" CD's and DVD's again dependably. You can really tell when it starts getting bad on the 'fix' pads because it begins scratching the disks in a kind of circular "spirograph" pattern. Putting in these new ones made it work like new.

3 comments about Belkin Remix Metal Case for iPod nano 3G (Silver).
- After checking out nano covers on Amazon, I came upon this product. What attracted me to it was its snazzy silver color (my nano is silver, and I wanted to stick with that theme), the durable materials its made from and the relatively low price. After getting it and using it for a few weeks now, I'm still pleased with the product. The face doesn't fit quite as snug as I had hoped, but I don't think its possible for it to fit any tighter. It doesn't create any problems, though, its just that I'm a bit picky. From the bottom of my nano, there is a very slight gap between the face of the cover and the mp3 player. But no trouble so far with any dirt or fibers making their way in. I would definitely purchase this cover again.
- ... the ONLY problem I had with it is that it was a lighter color silver than the picture shows. Other than that it's fantastic. Works perfectly.
- I purchased this to protect my 8GB Nano. It sports a brushed metal front with a clear acrylic plastic back. It seems to fit pretty solidly around the iPod. There's a screen protector built into the case and even a clear plastic piece over the click wheel. This doesn't seem to inhibit the functionality of the click wheel in any way, which I'd been slightly concerned about. A very sturdy feeling case that preserves the original color and design of the iPod. The clear back is a nice touch, especially for people who might have had something engraved on the back of their device. A simple case for a reasonable price.

2 comments about Philips TSU9400 Pronto Universal Remote Control.
- The Philips TSU9400 is a very impressive remote control, capable of many things when configured correctly.
HOWEVER it is not a Logitech Harmony (I also own a Harmony 990) or another consumer targeted universal remote. This is neither a criticism, not a complement. This is targeted towards either AV installation specialist or very advanced users.
On the plus side it offers a large touch screen and enormous configurability. The device can be programmed to do almost anything using JavaScript. The configuration/programming tools are fairly good.
On the negative side, you may have to program the device in JavaScript or have to dive through huge databases of IR (infrared) codes for devices. Much of the database is not very easy to navigate. This is one area Philips aught to improve.
All in all, this is a very impressive remote, but count on spending a number of hours setting it up. If you are not comfortable writing some JavaScript you may be limited on what the remote can do.
Also check out the forums at http://www.remotecentral.com for more information.
- I am a professional installer and I have installed many pronto units for my clients. I have been installing prontos for over 10 years.
Pros:
The unit is nice looking.
It is ultimately customizable in that every icon, image, background, etc. can be customized with your own images. The display contrast is very good and there are a number of 'hard' buttons (soft buttons are the ones that are configured on the touch screen) to control almost any aspect of your home theater system. It definitely takes a day to program the unit (it is basically unusable out of the box as the pre-configured devices are for Philips branded AMP, TV, etc.)
Cons:
Complicated setup - Not for the novice. It will take over a day to get it working on your system (as you have to learn how to use their software to configure the device) and beleive me that explaning the options and how to use the unit to a client takes longer than actually programming the unit. The software does feature a 'simulation' mode where you can test your screens and navigation on the computer before you download the configuration to the unit via USB. The body of the unit is VERY Slick and slippery - it is coated with a clear epoxy that is very hard to hold and the unit WILL break if it hits your tile floor. Unsure about the battery life, but I expect it is a battery drainer with it's high-contrast display. The unit is quite large (not as big as the TSU-7500 in width), but still quite large. The current price on Amazon ($699) is not bad as the old discontinued TSU-7500 also used to cost $699. This is a much better unit than the TSU-7500. You will need a VERY solid flat surface on which to position the charging base and unit for charging (it is a little top-heavy when the unit is on the charger and tends to fall over if not set on a hard flat surface. The unit has a JOG dial, but you can only use it with their Media Server. The unit has built-in WI-FI and it works (you can even stream live TV to the unit's display (check out YouTube for sample videos)) and the RF Extender (purchased separately) will allow you to control devices even in another room.
All in all a good unit. I don't think I would own one myself as it is too big and too expensive to use every day due to potential for droppage/breaking a VERY expensive unit. I would rather own a $100 unit that if it drops and breaks, I won't cry over it. But as long as my clients can afford them, I will install them. The software is the biggest issue I have. It is complicated and unless you know what you are doing, it is nearly impossible to setup for the non-technical computer user.

2 comments about Microsoft Zune 2nd Generation 80gb Premium Clear Reusable LCD Screen with Lint Cleaning Cloth By Ikross.
- This is a great product for your 80Gb Zune. Perfect fit! And easy to apply (once you know how to do it). I recommend getting 2 or 3 at once in case you mess it up the first time. For the price you can't beat em.
The only dissapointing part is when you remove the tab, there is still some sticker residue left (not sure if it's a fluke thing on mine or what). And you need to make sure all the dust is gone. This is where i messed up, but i just have to wait for it to dry. Oh, did i mention it washable too!
Highly recommend.
- This is pretty much a waste of cash.
This is not even for Zune80. The packaging says it's for some kind of pocket pc for samsung, so it does not fit the screen as perfect as it should.
When I tried to apply this onto my zune. There were three layers. There are supposed to be two.
So, based on the person who reviewed it, I washed it. It's pretty much a plain plastic after I wash it.
Basically, I wasted my money on this.

4 comments about Sony BD-RDL Recordable Dual Layer Disc - 50gb, 2X.
- About the best 50GB BD disk you can buy, but you would be much better off spending more for the rewritable version. Most of the BD burners for sale are bundled with CyberLink software which is very buggy. My first attempt with a Panasonic disk, the software crashed the computer and I got a $45.00 coaster (tax write-off). 2nd attempt with a Sony disk worked well.
Need patience for this backup method. Around 1 ½ hours to burn data even with a Gen 2 BD burner.
- I like the promise of Blue Ray, but as an old computer tech who's fought a lot of bleeding edge tech battles over the years, I have to warn you that the reliability just isn't there yet for the write-once disks. Although I haven't had any problems, I've heard of a number of ones relating to the write-once disks, which then become expensive "coasters." Instead, for now at least, choose the rewritable disks, which, although more expensive, you'll avoid costly failed disks until the write-once ones are more reliable.
These problems remind me of similar problems I had with ordinary CDs back in the days of early CD writer and DVD writer software. Back then, I wasted many CD and DVD disks until the software became less buggy. Still, I like the Blue Ray disks since they are cheaper for the same amount of storage than a comparable size mini cruzer, which in fact aren't even available at this size. The 15 gig mini cruzer that I bought was 100 bucks. The Blue Ray disk give you two to four times the capacity for significantly less. Unfortunately, compared to a mini cruzer RAM module, they are slow. Copying a 4 gig mini cruzer is around 5 minutes on my system. A 25 gig Blue Ray is over an hour, so be prepared for some long burn times. But overall, a big improvement in capacity over the previous standard.
- Another lifer sliding down the bleeding edge. I agree--spend another $10 to get the rewritable version.
After finally getting the settings on my Mac right (1x (ugh!!), buffer underrun protection), I managed to
successfully write 4 discs: 2 had verification failures on reread, 1 hung during verification, and 1 wrote/verified
successfully. I was thrilled--the first three attempts before calling the vendor re above cretinous parameter
settings are now...coasters. However, all in all, it's better than the 25 CDs I'd have to burn, but without charming multi-volume capability. I'm more or less happy, I guess, and think that I may be able to
read the 4 I have, if I ever need to, maybe. Hoping this gets cheaper, easier, faster soon.
- I have used the dual layer media only once so far but it worked well enough to store video data up to 47 gigs or so. The media claims 50 gigs but really you can't get 50 gigs on there. Same with the 25 gig, single layer media, you can only burn 23 gigs or so. I wish Sony would produce a 4x record speed version (like Panasonic has) and of course we are all waiting for this media to drop in price now that Blu-ray has won the HD media war. Tip: Be sure you understand what version of UDF you are working with prior to burning data to the disc. Some UDF only read on Vista software. I wasted two 25 gig discs learning this.

4 comments about Jvc Soft Inner Ear.
- This is not going to be an overly helpful review, I just wanted to say that I love my pink marshmallows. They sound great and match my pink iPod Mini. I love that they block out the annoyingly loud music at the gym when I am trying to listen to my own tunes! Every earbud that I have every tried to use has hurt my ears (you know the little flaps of cartilage that are supposed to hold them in?)...because they are small or something, but these ones do not, no matter how long I have them in. My husband also just recently got himself a black pair because he liked mine so much.
- I got these to replace the Sonys that I was using with my IPod Shuffle - they were the type that curl around your ear & are suppsedly more stable for active use, but they didn't fit and eventually drove me crazy. The JVC Marshmallow caught my attention right away for 2 reasons: the soft memory foam ear piece and the color, which was a perfect match for my Shuffle. They were also $10-15 cheaper than the Sony in-ear headphones that I was considering. Since the reviews here were good, I thought I'd give them a go & wound up buying another pair in pink for my pink IPod Mini. The sound is great, good separation & dimension, and the design is wonderful for my little shell-like ears since the memory foam actually conforms to the shape of your ear canal, and it has the added benefit of sealing out most of the ambient noise. Now if JVC would only offer the replacement ear pieces in the same cute colors, it would be perfect...
- I had these for a few weeks and wasn't impressed with the sound. As a last resort before giving up on them I squeezed the foam part down till it was really small & narrow and gave them another try. It made a world of difference.
When these buds are in correctly you do not get the tinny sound - you get a full spectrum with robust bass.
- I bought these because I have small ear canals. A few hours into a day at work or after a workout, my iPod earbuds were killing me. These stay in place while I run and the "marshmallow" is not painful whatsoever.
I was worried the foam would squish up and not decompress after use, but that's not a problem.
Two things to note:
- You have to wiggle them around a little to get them in place perfectly. After that, you'll have great sound (not perfect, of course. They're <$20!).
- If you're doing anything active, wear them with the cords cinched behind your head. That keeps the loud sound from the thumping of the cord against your chest out of the picture. At first I was pretty disappointed that I had to deal with that sound, but I realized what the little movable white piece of rubber was for and was happy again.
