5 comments about SDI Technologies iH80B Speaker System for iPod (Black).
- I have another more expensive unit also from iHome. I was constantly moving it around to the kitchen while cooking or to the yard for BBQs. When I saw this in Gold Box for twenty bucks I snagged it, just to have a second unit that I could permanently leave in the bedroom. It works well and definitely serves its purpose. It's not the most phenomenal sound, but it's pretty darn good. It definitely sounds alot better than one should expect for the price paid. If you're looking for amazing sound quality, this may not be the unit for you. But, if you're looking for bang-for-buck, and intend to use it to casually listen to music, this system is perfect.
- I had been looking for a speaker I could plug my ipod into for a while when I saw this at the Gold Box deals in Amazon. The price was so low I dind't think twice and ordered it.
I have owned it for a couple months now and I am very happy with this product, it has a very decent sound, you can plug the different Ipod models available, it is small and elegant.
I used to have a stereo system in my living room so I could play music while having lunch, doing the house chores or simply wanting to listen to music in any of the nearby rooms. I started looking for an Ipod speaker as I did not want to be changing discs and the like having an Ipod already.
This speaker is great, it is small and elegant, which allows me to place it in one of the living room tables without it looking out of place (it matches some our decoration actually); the sound, while not very powerful, is quite decent for my needs. I can have guests at home and plug my Ipod, hit shuffle and have background music. Being this compact size it's also very easy to carry it to other places. It has remote control also that allows you to equalize the sound, move through the Ipod menus and to decide whether you want it to shuffle through songs or not.
I have used this a lot since I got it and I can strongly recommend it. If you are looking for superior sound quality this may not be the best product for you (though you can expand it by purchasing additional speakers that can be connected to one another) If you need something like I described, don't think twice and grab this one, the price they have right now is a great deal.
- I'm not really sure why some people don't like this. I think the sound is better than my earbuds and I love that it charges my iPod while listening and has a remote. What in the world more could a person want?
This is simply the perfect stereo for a bedroom or dorm or small apartment where space is at a premium. I keep mine in my office and adore it!
- It's not bose, but for the price, this is a great iPod dock and speaker. The remote control really makes operation easy and fast. Sound quality is pretty good. Treble usually needs adjustment upon first use. I would definitely recommend this product.
- I didn't give this 5 stars because it's not the BEST ipod dock you can probably purchase but for the price it comes close. It's great to have around for entertaining. Without a doubt I have already got my money's worth. I wasn't expecting superior sound by any means but I'm impressed that it wasn't a piece of junk. I would recommend this for someone who is just looking for something small with lots of sound for a cheap price.

1 comments about USB 2.0 Cable, A Male To A Male, Beige, 10ft.
- I was buying this cable to try to connect two computers! It did not work that way. Further research that you can't do that. It is against the USB specs. So it has to be a computer and a peripheral but I never found a peripheral that has male-connector! Can anyone show me one?
Why did they create such cable in the first place?

5 comments about SMK-Link VP4150 RemotePoint Navigator 2.4.
- The product is excellent. In my estimation the best on the market.
- I used this remote for the first time last week for a presentation and am here looking into buying one. The control, feel, and buttons are great. It feels good in your hand and appears to be reliable.
My only concern is the size of the laser "point" onscreen. It is a bit small. Not bad, but a minor concern.
I had no problems with hitting the "black" button to end the show or to make a point during my presentation. Overall, a solid model.
- Works great. 1st time I used it was on someone else's PC. I had to cover for another person and I just plugged in the USB key, and started flipping through slides from across the room. All the keys worked great.
- I purchased 3 of the Interlink VP4150 RemotePoint Navigator 2.4's for our department. Faculty love using this. It was a great price and easy to use. I have had one of the faculty purchase one on her own after using the departments. Highly recommend.
- I bought this for our department in a large company after a recommendation from another department. The word is spreading about this little gizmo - everyone who uses it loves it. It's simple & gets the job done without hiccups or problems. There are no problems with reliability, either. The folks in our organization who have used it recommend it without reservation.

5 comments about Kinamax ADP-IDE23 Laptop 2.5-Inch to Desktop 3.5-Inch IDE Hard Drive Adapter Converter.
- Don't forget when you purchase this product, you also need to the the usb adapter also
- This item is garbage. I tried every jumper configuration possible without shorting it to ground via the dreaded "never do this" position. I could not get the drive to be recognized.
The item arrived in a box full of bubble wrap but no directions.
The item is so cheap that it's not worth returning. Still, I can never get the 3 hours I wasted on this thing back so it was kind of an expensive failure. It didn't destroy my hard disk though and it still works fine in the laptop.
- the product works great for its intended use. The Kinamax ADP-IDE23 Laptop 2.5-Inch to Desktop 3.5-Inch IDE Hard Drive Adapter Converter does exactly what it was advertised to do; which is enable me to use my notebook hard drive in my desktop. I would definitely recommend this product to other PC users. two thumbs up.
- With this simple and inexpensive adapter I installed the HDD from my deceased IBM NoteBook in my desktop PC in minutes.
One tip: the NB drive needs to be configured as a slave by jumpering a couple of pins - a label on the drive shows which ones (not sure if this is the same for all NB drives but I suspect so). There was no jumper included with the adapter, but when I opened up my desktop PC there was a suitable jumper on the socket of main HDD. Transferred this jumper to the designated pins on the NB drive and the system booted faultlessly.
- It does what it is supposed to do and is fairly simple to use. The only (albeit slight) complaint I have is that the pins bend fairly easily. Other than that, it's like an unstylish car - it might not be a pretty accessory and it may have a quirk or two somewhere (which I haven't discovered yet), but for the most part it's uncomplicated and reliable.

3 comments about Premium VGA to RCA Component Cable M / M, 25 ft / 7.62m Black.
- I am using this cable to connectEFORCITY VGA to S-Video / RCA Adaptorto my Samsung HDTV LCD 32inch and the image is great. I had no trouble connecting or anything. No loose screws and the quality of the cable wrapping is very good.
- Don't buy this product unless you plan to use it on an HDTV set, I tried using it on a standard TV but all I got are a black and white picture and scrambled. Not worth wasting the money.
- I highly recommend this cable. I bought two of these cables to use with my Panasonic HD projectors. The projector has a VGA connector for component video input. I connected it to the component outputs of my HD cable box and a DVD player. The 25ft length enabled me to move the project far across the room from the source. The picture quality is excellent. Please remember that this cable will only work with VGA devices which can be configured for component video input!

5 comments about Sound Blaster Digital I /o Module.
- I bought this thinking it would be surround sound with one optic cable right? No way on most of the low end cards, they only send 2 channels!
- I picked up this item since I use my PC as a lossless music server and use a outboard DAC for processing.
Unless you need to use a optical connection, this item is not needed. Just go out and purchase a gold plated RCA to 1/8" adapter and throw it on the end of your coax cable. You'll also be cleaning up the signal path.
- This product did NOT do what I had hoped it would. However, I can't write it off completely since I was not using it for its original purpose. Follow me, if you will...
Setup: Laptop, Creative Sound Blaster external 24-bit USB break out box, Labtec 4.1 speaker system, Creative Digital I/O device, Xbox 360.
Before I purchased this device, I had been running the audio of my laptop through the Creative Labs USB Sound Blaster MP3+ External Sound Card Sound System Sound Blaster external USB device (please note, the link is to a product that is similar, but not precisely the same model), and out through the Labtec 4.1 speaker system. The external device worked just fine, and didn't have any major problems (with an older driver I couldn't get the device to use any profile other than 'headphones' instead of 4 speakers).
I had hooked my Xbox 360 to a LCD computer monitor via a VGA adapter cable, and ran my audio through the 1/8" jack to the Line In jack on the back of the external USB device. Everything was fine. I had audio from the Xbox coming through the speakers I used for my laptop (granted, no EAX abilities were available, but at least there was sound).
I ordered the Sound Blaster Digital I/O Module hoping that I would be able to use a TOSLink cable to get digital sound from the Xbox. Not the case.
I updated my drivers. I ran the TOSLink from the AV cable of the Xbox to the I/O Module and that was run to Line In 1/8" jack in the back of the external USB device. Turned on the Xbox hoping to have some surround sound love from the I/O module.
Nothing. No sound. No interference noise. Nothing at all.
I tried setting the Xbox to Digital Stereo, Digital Surround, and even the Digital WMA setting for the audio. Still nothing.
After some research and a letter to Creative, I was dismayed to find out that the Sound Blaster Digital I/O module does NOT support digital sound.
What???
Creative's solution was to set the Xbox to Digital Stereo output, and plug the 1/8" jack into the Line In port of the external Sound Blaster device. According to them, even though it wouldn't produce true surround sound, I should be able to use the TOSLink to get sound from the Xbox.
Sorry. That's not the case. I've tried every possible combination that I can think of, and I can't get any sound at all from the Xbox via the I/O device.
It's not an issue of the I/O device not being compatible with the other Creative device that I have. I double checked before making the purchase that it would work with the external device that had. I just can't. Make. It. Work.
So I'm back to using a cheapo Radio Shack 1/8" jack running into the external USB sound card to get audio from the Xbox. So, if by chance, you're trying to use the I/O device to get digital sound output, don't buy this product. It is not capable of carrying a Dolby Digital sound through it.
I honestly don't know why they even make this doohickey, other than to lure in gadget geeks like me.
._._.
- Creative labs X-FI series does NOT support dolby 5.1 on the digital out and their cards will NOT decode 5.1 on the digital IN.
Why did I get this again?
If all you need is a stereo in/out then this works fine.
Who would buy a X-FI to do stereo.
See my review of the Fatal1ty sound card for more detail.
Documentation? We don't need none of *that* apparently!
I am quickly losing faith in Creative Labs....
This product is going back
- This product may be great.. but it does not connect to optical S/PDIF connections. So for instance it will do absolutely nothing for the Creative X-Fi extreme ausio notebook..

5 comments about S-video Cable - 6 ft.
- This review refers to Phillips 6ft S-Video Cable
I find myself switching up my video equipment a couple of times a year, upgrading to whatever new is coming out. VHS, DVD Player, DVD recorder(which also plays DVDs and CDs), and most recently a combo VHS/DVD player unit. I need all my connections to get video output. I don't have progressive scan on the TV I used this cable. So I'm using my antenna connection, a straight to TV connection and an S-video for the connection where I want the best picture(for viewing films), with the various components . If I was to rate this product solely on the video quality it gives, I probably would go 5 stars. Clarity and signal strength is excellent and one of the best in it's price range. Also, the cable wire and outer shield are are heavy duty and and long lasting.
S-Video connections, unlike the colored wires and hook-ups that usually come with the piece of equipment(I've got a drawer full of those) must be bought separately. They are not just straight plug ins. They have a specific shape and configuration of the outer shield and inner prong connectors. These inner wires are the ones where my problem came in. Although I thought I was being super gentle, they bend and break easily if they are not lined up perfectly going in. I think this happened around my third change over.
I've been surfing around to order a new one, and found that theses cables are a much better buy here then directly from the stores. I stopped in Circuit City yesterday, and almost choked when I saw the difference.
So it's worth surfing around here, reading the reviews of the various brands and qualities. The shipping cost can sometimes run as high as the cable itself, so check with those outside sellers, some have really good deals.
Happy Viewing....Laurie
- I've been using this cable for about a month and have had no problems with it. Better quality than composite, but that's the idea of s-video.
- I would have to agree what everyone has said about this product:
- Its a decent price for a S-Video
- The quality is slightly above average
- Its by a brand name company
- You get what you pay for
- Good purchase if your willing to save some money for a decent product
I hooked this S-Video up to my Digital Cable Box (not expecting it to be significantly better than the Coax Cable) and and could tell the difference in dark scenes and in color variables.
And at the same time, nothing to complain about the product
- I was looking for a decent quality S-video cable without paying what I felt were the ridiculous prices I found on so many. This cable was just needed to connect a small TV in the bedroom with a RF Modulator and a new Zenith HD Upconversion DVD player. This cable was very inexpensive but looks like a quality cable. I was a little disappointed on the TV picture quality when everything was connected. What I found interesting was picture quality improved when I used the (supposed) lesser quality composite connection instead of the S-Video. This may have nothing at all to do with the S-Video cable and may be related to the cheap TV or new DVD player. I'll just wait and try it when needed on some other connection.
- I use this to connect my pc to my large HD tv so that I have a huge monitor that works great for gaming and watching videos and movies online.

5 comments about Memorex DVD+R 16x 4.7GB 50 Pack Spindle.
- I have these discs and couldn't burn a good one to save my life. That was when I was using a PC. I recently switched to a Mac and presto - I haven't had a single problem since. I feel that PC's are too prone to programs causing problems and conflicting with other programs, etc. I would get a write failure if my screensaver kicked in while burning. Seriously - check out your PC before you blame the discs. Better yet....buy a Mac.
- Had the 8x speed before and they were great. These on the other hand totally sucked .Am only getting 2-3 good out of every 5 disks. Will never buy from Memorex again.
- Product works fine, no flaws or re-writes due to errors. The CD face is lined with dots, would rather it be plain or just have the manufactures name. This would allow marking the contents easier.
- These things are CHEAP! And I don't mean that in the sense that they're a bargain, they're a ripoff. I tried to save some money and get these instead of a better brand. Failed burn, after failed burn, after failed burn. I ONLY BOUGHT A 10 PACK AND I'VE GOT 4 COASTERS!! If you want quality blank media, get Sonys. And If you really want superior quality then invest in some Taiyo Yuden brand media. They Are the best buy far. I've burned literally hundreds of disks on them and NEVER had a failed burn.
- These DVDs have worked perfectly for me and I have been using them with my computer and DVR connected to my HDTV. Recordings on my PC do not work with my DVR nor do my recordings on my DVR work with my PC, but that is the marketplace right now since all encoding is not standard or capatible. Standardization will eventually occur but this is not the DVD blank that is the problem but those that cause standardization to occur moving slowly.

5 comments about Upbeat Audio T613-BMC Boostaroo 3 Channel Amplifier & Splitter.
- My Wife and I used this on a recent trip (flight and air port layover) as a splitter and amp to watch full length movies on our Zune 80 GB to pass the time. It worked great, case, switches, etc are very sturdy and well made. Small enough to pack and travel. Get one if you need to boost the volume or need to share.
- I bought a small DVD player for the car. Unfortunately you could not hear the movie with all the traffic noise. This little attachment works Great !!! Now we have 3 earphone with all the volume we need. Would recommend this item again and again for any audio enhancement. "Boosteroo" its true, great value for a small cost.
- Boostaroo amplifier and splitter works pretty much as advertised. Amplification is minimal probably about 2 X the volume. I'm using with mini speakers not headphones and this may not be the optimal product for this task.
- First Impression: Looked cool, seemed simple. That's about all that was good about it.
Actual Usage: It required batteries! I don't recall that being in the item description, though I may be wrong. After much hassle of trying to get the batteries to FIT in the compartment and closing it, I was eager to try it. Nothing. It didn't even split the sound. So I tried only one output. Finally, I heard something, but it sounded HORRIBLE. It sounded like my music was being replayed in a ghost movie. I don't even want to TALK about the sound BOOSTING properties, because turning that on gave me nightmares. What ticks me off so much is that you can't use it at ALL without the battery, not even just to split sound without amplifying it. For all I cared, I couldn't even use it as a 6 inch audio cable extension! A waste of time.
Overall: I believe it is pretty self explanatory that, at least, from my experience with the product, anyone who is self-respectful should avoid it. It may have worked for some people, but it certainly did not for me.
- I have a drawer full of sub one hundred dollar headphones. My newest. Grado SR60s. Pure clean sound for seventy bucks. But could be louder.
I researched headphone amps, I wanted the Grado amp, but I think my wife would kill me.
So after reading the reviews on this Boostaroo. I figured I go to Radio Shack this evening and pick one up.
I've only tried it with my Grados and a cheap pair of Sennheiser 201s.
It worked as promised. The volume of both set of cans was boosted. The Grados sound good, the sennheisers have some distortion. But what do you expect from Twenty dollar headphones.
I'll try it with my AKGs, upmarket Sennheisers, the Koss and the various other cans in the forty to one hunderd dollars range in my desk drawer, and let you know how they are.
