  1. This SD card reader is perfect for what it does and for the price! I use a PDA and laptop constantly and interchangably. The PDA takes SD cards. I use my SD cards and this USB reader as a flash drive so that I have the same files for my PDA and laptop all on one drive. It's fast and simple, portable and very cheap. Highly recommended.

  2. Unless I got a defective product this is horrible...my images got lines in through them and become blurred during transfer, very disappointing purchase.

  3. Did not last. Only worked for 1 month and now I can't use it anymore. I should expect it since it is so cheap

5 comments about Marware Sportfolio Deluxe 13" MacBook Case Black.
  1. Finding 13" notebook cases at the retail level is nearly impossible. 15" appears to be the threshold for OfficeMax, Staples, Best Buy, etc., and I didn't want my 13" MacBook swimming in an oversized bag. However, I wanted more than a sleeve configuration. I flew last week, and brought the computer along. This bag is an ideal blend of compactness/portability and storage space. It was able to accommodate the MacBook power adapter, a short (retractable) ethernet cable, earbuds, magazines and other paperwork, and my boarding pass, with room to spare. The bag is light, and the computer compartment is perfectly sized with ample padding. I have a minor concern about long-term durability, but I'll reserve judgment for now (it's only a few weeks old). Thumbs way up for this bag.

  2. I bought the Marware Sportfolio Deluxe for my son's MacBook as a Christmas gift. He says it is just the right size for his MacBook and is so convenient for transporting it---light weight and easy to tote.

  3. great bag for protecting and carrying my macbook, but after seeing some other bags in person @ the apple store, i kinda wish i got a backpack instead with more room and faux fur feel .incase, oakley and wenger make good bags ! i'ts got good pockets and sufficient room, but gets a little tight when i put my macbook in with its mcally shell on.i give it 3 stars.

  4. This is a really nice case for carrying a Macbook and a variety of accessories. As I am not a backpack kind of guy, I needed a case that could transport my Macbook, as well as all my needful accessories ( power cord, mouse, remote, etc ). Surprisingly, there are not a lot of compact cases to choose from that accommodate all these things. The Marware case seemed the best choice.
I like the feel of the case. Orca skin is a nice touch. The roomy zippered compartment is plenty adequate for my storage needs. A semi-rigid frame provides good protection for the notebook. The notebook compartment features a lined nylon zipper to protect from scratches when taking out or putting the Macbook away. The compartment itself is plush lined to baby my Mac. All in all, a very nice case.
I do have two concerns though. First of all, the case simply will not stand upright as it is pictured in the ad display. The orca skin wraparound results in a rounded bottom causing the case to be completely unstable when resting on its bottom. Plan on laying it down when you put it down, if you don't, it will ungracefully lay itself down for you!
Secondly, the notebook compartment needs to open more widely. The zipper barely extends beyond the top corners of the case making one hand loading or unloading of the notebook somewhat difficult.
I give this case 4 stars for being very good in most important respects. I just wish it would stand up and open up !

  5. Nice product, but could use a bit more padding on the bottom and sides. I like all the compartments and the organizer portion. Will hold a few things in addition to the macbook. Probably priced about $20 too high for what it is, but no other brand fits the macbook as well.

5 comments about Sennheiser HD 215 Extreme DJ Sound Headphones.
  1. These headphones have a special hinged joint on their right earpice. One intent of this feature is to let DJs move the earpiece aside to monitor ambient club sound. But this feature also works to provide a tight fit for listeners with asymmetrical, odd-shaped heads. I first took notice of this at a Red Sox game at Fenway Park where a large number of Sox fans wore HD215s and were using this feature. They sound great, too.

  2. These are probably the best headphones I've ever listened to. I don't buy headphones over $120 so I don't know how they compare to the Ultra-high end; but these are certainly better than any other set I've bought. The isolation is REALLY good; I can use these things--unplugged--as ear-plugs for when I just don't feel like listening to anything at all. Some of the reviews about needing a bit more power is correct--but that's to be expected on a set like this. The bass might be slightly weak for some people but I think it's just because the high-end cutoff is so far up there that, in comparison, the bass might appear weak. Some minor EQ'ing fixes that anyway.

  3. I am not an audiophile by any means, and was searching for higher end headphones for my husband who is. I owned a pair of Koss Porta Pro headphones a few years ago and was thrilled with the sound quality (I mention this because it is the only thing I can compare them to) I put the Sennheiser cans on after seeing my husband's less than thrilled reaction and was shocked by the poor, poor, poor sound quality. Not sure whether or not they might be busted, but for the price tag there is no doubt they are being returned ASAP.
Baffled by the more positive responses here, and I wish my review could be more technical, but there it is. Ladies be warned, this may not get the result you want on Father's Day. As for my husband at least he was too excited and opened his gift early.

  4. Great Product , The sound is great , you dont hear ambiant sounds and it comes with a leather bag and a adaptator. You can flip one hear so you can hear music on your speaker while listening to the next song , it's really useful for mixing. The only thing is that the bass are a bit weak but well for 100 buck you can hardly get something better! Shipping was really fast ... By the way those are really big so don't except to wear them on the street unless you want everyone to laugh at you. The wire is really long i think i could put my mp3 player in my shoes and still use the headphones

  5. I purchased recently a couple of headphones but I didn't like them. The I saw this one and it looks so comfortable. So when they arrived I tried them for a couple of hours and they didn't hurt my ears at all. I love them. They are perfect for a DJ too!

The only thing that I find is that there is no bass, but that is good for a working DJ because the music can be heard better.

All in all, it is a great product. Very cool!

  1. This is a pretty good CD Wallet. It's definitely durable and sells at a great price too. I have only found one con with it so far. Sometimes the disks would slide towards the top of the holder if the wallet is handled roughly.

  2. The title says it all. With a labelmaker and a little creativity, this CD wallet has been transformed into a first rate, relatively light weight, easy to carry coupon organizer. We actually have two; one for groceries and one for toiletries, otc medicines, etc. try it! Good way to save money.

  3. Good size, durable and holds discs - just like it's supposed to. The case smells bad though, no two ways about it. Hopefully smell will dissapate.

  4. The wallet is small enought to fit in a glove compartment and carries and protects 48 of your favorite CDs. Great buy!

  5. The case is very sturdy. It is not nearly as bulky as other cases and fits under the seat and out of sight. It can be a challenge to put CD's back into the sleeves while on the road.

3 comments about Linksys Dual Band Wireless N Ultra Range Plus Expresscard WEC600N.
  1. I bought this card for my Dell Vostro 1700 running Windows Vista Ultimate. The ad read that it was Vista certified. I'm not sure what version of Vista it was certified on but I can not get the card to work. Vista reports that the driver will not start (error code 10). Linksys rep had no clue about this particular product.

The card works great on Windows XP Pro. It appears Vista still has it's problems and XP is still the operating system of choice for this card.

  2. okay, i bought this back on 4/7/08 and initially out of the box...i was very excited being that it is an expresscard and a highend wireless adapter offered by linksys. well, as soon as i installed the device and rebooted. vista gave me the error concerning driver will not start (error code 10). after a couple of days past tinkering around to troubleshoot, chatting with linksys live support, and searching the web for solutions...i gave up and waited on linksys to provide the solution to their device...but low and behold...on no particular night i tried out the card again...and had success! i believe it was due to vista's update of the service pack 1...its not confirmed, but i knew that was the last thing i did:) as far as the device working now...i tried several configurations to get the best and here is what i have to connect at 270 mbps most of the time. i use device wrt600n wireless router (which is awesome!!! but not after tinkering around with it to suit your needs). wireless connection is set to 'n' only, 40 mhz channel at 5.2 ghz as the standard channel, security set to wpa2-personal with aes encryption. my wireless adapter connected consistently after configuring through vista...so far so good.

  3. This card works better than my original wireless in my laptop. I have actually noticed a visible speed improvement in both using this with my dual band router and other routers at my job. The power drain on the battery is not even noticeable (about 15 minutes off the battery life)

5 comments about Philips DCP750/37 7" Portable DVD Player with iPod docking.
  1. We bought this DVD player to play movies for our little guys while we're on the road. The very first time we used it, the movie froze several times and restarted itself...and these were movies that played flawlessly in our home DVD player, so scratches or smudges weren't an issue.

A few weeks later, during another road trip, it froze yet another movie, and this time, it never restarted. We popped out the DVD, put another in, and that was it - the unit never recognized another DVD, and never played another second of video. Our children never had even touched the thing, and it was given absolute care and protection - a padded case, not left in the hot/cold car, only mommy and daddy allowed to operate it. I can't imagine why it would go kaput so fast, so I'm returning it for something else.

Save your money - buy something else!!

  2. This product was great! For a month. Then it stopped working. I contacted philips and was very impressed when they said, "no problem, send it to us and we'll get a replacement out to you right away."

Unfortunately, the "replacement" was a completely different model without the swivel screen. I have no use for a portable dvd player that doesn't have a closeable screen as I know that the exposed screen will get scratched up and destroyed in short order.

I contacted philips again and they said, "read your warranty, it says we can send you "the most comparable model available" We don't have any swivel screen models available, so that's what you got."

I told them that I have absolutely NO use for a portable dvd player with an exposed screen and they said "read your warranty...." I asked if I could get a refund. "No" Can I pay the difference to get a higher model with a swivel screen. "No, but you can of course buy a complete new one at full price".

I bought two of these, the first one failed right out of the box, but luckily I was able to take that one back to the store where I bought it.

I will never buy another Philips product if I can at all help it.

  3. This is a great player with good features for the price. The iPod docking station is great for playing iPod movies, or just playing music through it, plus it charges the iPod and the remote can be used to control it. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the battery. On a full charge (which takes about 6 hours) I can barely make it through an entire movie on the 2.5 hour battery. Plus the player has to be off to charge, so watching a movie while it is plugged in will not charge it. It would also be nice if it came with some kind of carrying case to protect the the player. Other portable players in the same price range come with cases. TRUST THE DESCRIPTION, THE NEW IPOD CLASSICS WILL NOT PLAY MOVIES IN THE DOCKING STATION!!!!

  4. I bought this one to replace a Cyberhome 7" portable. Unlike the Cyberhome, which I used like crazy, I've maybe seen a total of 3-4 movies on this thing in a year's time. I'm working from home today & decided to pop in a movie...battery will not charge and unit will NOT work unless plugged into the wall. My warranty runs out the end of the month & Philips offered me "same or comparable" model...I pray I don't have the same problem as some of the other reviewers. Other than that, the unit is great, picture is clear, sound is good.

Note: Doesn't work with 6th gen iPod Classic. It'll output audio, but no video.

  5. A couple of years ago the price was 219.The price should have gone down. What gives?

  1. This is a review for the 17" slip case. This has a great padding on it that's durable and good looking. It holds the computer perfectly, and with a slight bulge, a power cord and block will fit in the front pocket with lots of other cables and electronics. Great value for a great product. Also has a wonderful document area by the laptop area.

  2. Product was what I expected. It came on time, and in excellent condition. No problems what so ever.

  3. Have a 13" Mac with no case. Going to Crete for work so needed something. Ordered this. Pleasantly surprised at the (good) quality. Holds computer wonderfully. Also big enough to cram lots of other junk (even clothes). A great travel item for computer. Just remember, the more stuff you load into it, the more it sticks out from you back and you know what that means.... DORKY! Especially when you double-strap. Oh well....

  4. I bought the Targus CVR600 15.4 Goove Notebook Backpack for my new Dell XPS 1530 laptop. It's great bag that has enough pockets to store all my stuff, cables, discs, SD cards and flash drives, books for class and my 15" laptop. It's a great place to keep all the things I need while away at school. And, if needed, it's got room to OVERSTUFF it with other things I may not even need. Either way, I get to keep all that I want with me!

I highly recommend this bag and best of all, it compare very well to bags that cost twice as much! Thanks Targus!

  5. I bought this case for my girlfriend's 17" laptop computer. The shoulder strap makes it easy to carry, but harder for someone to grab it from her and run. It's well padded and has a large pocket on the outside, as well as two inside pockets. We would like it even better if the inside pocket divider was full height and padded, too. It is well worth the money I paid for it.

5 comments about IronKey 2GB Secure Hardware-Encrypted Flash Drive.
  1. I have purchased my second IronKey Secure flash drive. They are everything claimed, and more. Good tech support (through forum - all that's needed), responsive staff, great flash drive, durable, wonderful security. Everything I wanted. I'm replacing my Iomega Zip Drives with these handier, more dependable, more secure products.

  2. I purchased this drive 3 weeks ago to replace my semi-secure U3 drive. While the speed of the device is somewhat less than the max rated speed as advertised (at least on my 3 primary systems), it is every bit as secure as advertised and works very well on both XP and Vista (it clearly stated that it is NOT supported on Mac's, though a beta Mac client is available). As previously mentioned, the support forum is great. You also have the ability to securely back up your drive to a local PC---the backup is encrypted and secure as well.

This is a must have device for professionals who need to ensure the confidentiality of customer or business information, or the individual who makes regular use of a thumb drive for password storage, or personal or financial information storage.

  3. I was more than pleased with the Ironkey. I work in legal investigations and I feel very comfortable transporting files back and forth from my office to use on any computer I come across. I downloaded OpenOffice in case the computer I use doesn't have MS Word and and I THINK I can download my MS OFFICE onto the key but haven't experimented yet.

The secured web access has been fantastic although I do notice a slight slowdown on the loading of web pages...not a big deal. The only drawback is occasionally opening up Google in french...one of the drawbacks of the secured network is that the sites you are on think you're logging in from another country.

The password saving feature is awesome and its good to finally have a place to have all my passwords backed up.

Sure you can have a basic, plain old flash drive...but why?

  4. This is the best encrypted flash drive on the market. Not only is IronKey always encrypted and cannot be turned off or disabled it's password protected with a 10 failed try SELF-DESTRUCT!An on line back up of your drive is available if you lose it you can restore your data on a new one. A secure version of Firefox is also on the drive.Steve Gibson of GRC gives it a great review that's enough for me!

  5. An excellent way to have a secured form of holding onto your files. Acually, very simple to use. I use mine for files that I wish to keep to myself such as my personal diary. No one will be able to read it.

  1. I am pleased with my purchase of the VST TECH ADAPTER FOR USB Powered- for my ScanDisk storage device.
It came in a timely manner. The device worked beter than the ScanDisk storage device which I discovered was not woking properly. After I exchanged the Scandisk storage device I have used the VST Tech Adapter since then with noproblems.

  2. With a laptop I found it needs power cord. It works well and does what it is supposed to do.

  3. I bought this to power the SmartDisk FireLite drive I was using for backup because I had to start connecting the FireLite drive to a USB hub, rather than directly to the PC. Within two weeks, the FireLite drive failed -- permanently -- and I'm not sure whether the drive failed on its own or whether the power supply caused failure. Either way, I'm not about to buy another SmartDisk, so this power adapter is pretty much useless.
