5 comments about Panasonic RP-CDHG15 High Speed HDMI Cable - 4.9ft (White).
  1. I have the ps3 and the new Samsung 58" plasma (wireless connectors). I bought the cheap HDMI cable, and it wouldn't work for every Blue Ray movies I own. For example, "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" lost signals over and over again. So I went with the Panasonic HDMI cable. And it works like a charm. I set it at 1080p. Highly recommended. I'm buying another for my XBOX 360.

  2. Simply stated, this is a quality hdmi cable at a great price.

I have been using it a little over a year connecting my 46" Samsung tv and Sony BDS300 Blu ray player.

The picture and sound it channels is quite excellent.

    Highly recommended.

  3. Good length, GREAT PRICE, No problems whatsoever... Do yourself a favor and get this, and next time you're in CC you can laugh when those poor salesman lie to you about how "superior" their $150 cables are (one of the biggest scams in home entertainment).

  4. It is after all just a cable, but I was replacing a cheaper, black HDMI cable for aesthetic reasons with this white one. Cable runs from Tivo HD to Samsung HD LCD monitor. Before switching to this cable, the image seemed to have trouble syncing up sometimes. I would see flashes on the screen, for example when making menu changes in Tivo. That seems to have cleared up since changing to this Panasonic. I have a number of other HDMI connections in other rooms, and all use Panasonic Label HDMI cables. They work great, and are not nearly as expensive as what you find at Best Buy or Circuit City. Plus, my wife is happy as the rest of the cables showing are white, as well as the TV itself.

  5. When I purchased my new 52 inch LCD tv, the salesman was pretty much trying to bully me into buying the very expensive HDMI cable from him. I knew I could get a much better deal on Amazon. After reading the reviews of many HDMIs, I bought the Panasonic and it's performed as good as the expensive one I had that was too short for our new tv setup.

  1. I got my new HDMI-to-DVI cable and immediately connected it between my Toshiba up-converting DVD player and a Samsung 56" DLP TV. The picture is wonderful.
I don't see any point in spending more for a Monster cable when this one is available for a lower cost.
I have more than 20 years of experience as an electronics designer and manufactuing engineer. This cable would easily meet my quality standards.

  2. Like many of the reviewers, i was skeptical about the incredibly low price. But what the heck, it's only a couple bucks. I compared the picture using store-bought cables and these and there is no difference. Had them for about 3 weeks now so i can't comment on durability. I love this cable though. Used to have gobs of wires running to my TV, now only one.

    Product was shipped quickly too.

  1. These are great. They reduce the sound coming into your ears very well while keeping the frequency response and clarity about the same. Things don't sound so muffled, just quieter. They also fit in my ears better than the bigger ones that Etymotic Research offers since they are a bit smaller.

5 comments about Altec Lansing IM7 Speaker Shoulder Harness.
  1. Yes, the harness does fit very tightly and is difficult to install the first time or two.

The fact that it fits tightly ensures that the harness does what it was intended to do: provide the ability to carry the rather heavy iM7 over your shoulder and keep the cylindrical shaped music player from rolling around (only when you lash it to something with the shoulder strap). And THAT it does very well.

None of the incredible sound from the iM7 is blocked by the harness.

I would prefer that you could access the battery compartments with the harness in place, but due to the 10+ hours of battery life, you will not be swapping out your batteries all that frequently.

I removed one star because of the "difficult to install" issue, there is no additional anti-roll stability provided by the harness, and with harness installed there is no access to the battery compartments.

I still highly recommend the harness. Portability is one of the main features of the iM7 and this harness makes lugging the massive iM7 around much easier than without.

  2. Real Simple, it's a great design, easy to put together and snap in place. Seems like real good quality leather. Shoulder harness has good padding. But it's not meant to be a protective case, it is what it says it is and a carrying harness. Buttons are easy to get to, easy to pick up and go.

  3. Very well designed and comfortable! I used this harness to walk 3/4 mile for a Fourth of July parade. While it was slightly heavy I had no problem carrying the speaker. The harness fits the speaker really well and I had no fear about it coming apart. The little bag that comes attached to the harness is very handy too for holding accessories.

  4. Makes the speakers portable, without this harness the speakers are difficult to handle.

Altec Lansing IM7 Speaker Shoulder Harness

  5. I was really surprised to find that this was really made of leather and actualy works. The pouch is a good idea for the remote and wall plug accessories. As there isnt really any good handle for the IM7, I am very happy to have purchased the harness.

5 comments about Monster Cable AICYP iSplitter Mini Y-Adapter for iPod and Mac.
  1. Monster's gold connections don't lose any sound quality, so I use it even with only one set of headphones - The great design makes it easier to plug and unplug into laptops/computers instead of squeezing in those tiny plugs that come with most lightweight headphones. For a few dollars more you can get it in black with separate volume dials and a mute button, but I kind of like less adjustments when it comes to volume levels - set it and forget it. The white color is also easy to see in low light. Very sturdy feel to it, getting more to give as gifts.

  2. what more can i say other than allows two people to be entertained at once on my ipod touch. whether it's watching movies or tv shows or listening to music, whenever i have someone with me and we're on standby we will always be entertained.

  3. I've always been a big fan of Monster products. I use them for every electronic connection in my house. This quality of this little splitter is no exception. We used it recently on a vacation so my wife and I could watch movies on my iTouch. I've owned a couple of cheap splitters in the past and both sounded terrible. I was constantly adjusting the mini-plug to eliminate static noises. This one worked beautifully. We watched 6 movies together and didn't hear one peep of static. Spend the extra $$. It's worth it. As the adage goes, you get what you pay for. Thanks to Monster for another great product.

  4. The diameter of the hub for the jack inserting into the ipod is large enough that it hits the protective casing that I leave my ipod in (Speck --black rubber); as a result, the slightest false movement causes the jack to fall out of the ipod. Basically it doesn't stay securely in place, leading to interruptions in music listening, etc.

  5. Nice product that works well. No problems with volume or loss of sound quality. Happy with purchase.

5 comments about Sony MDR-V700DJ DJ Style Monitor Series Headphones.
  1. These headphones are a must buy. They are very comfortable and have really good sound. I use them for music, games, movies, and tv shows that I play on my computer and the sound is teriffic. They have just the right amount of bass, and are really good for games especially. I would recommend these headphones to anyone. In order for these headphones to last they have to be taken care of really carefully because the plastic that holds the cups on will crack if you're careless. Overall, these headphones are a great purchase and I will buy these again.

  2. These are awesome. I use mine mostly for gaming on my laptop but the sound if amazing for music. Stylish and I got mine for a great price on here. I'm more than happy with my decision.

  3. The Sony 700s are pretty much a standard in the DJ world. They deliver decent enough sound with minimal distortion... but that's about where the pros of the 700 end.

Any deejay that has ever *used* these will tell you two things:

    1) The swivel arm casing (tubular plastic in design) will crack and eventually snap in half. When this happens the ear cup will dangle by the wires... :(

    2) The cable itself is of poor design and the right side will eventually die, leaving that side useless. I'll explain a way to ensure this doesn't happen below. This is especially an issue when using any of the Pioneer mixers (pretty much the standard mixer in all the clubs I've played) if you have an Empath this wont be an issue.

You could fix the arm casing if you wanted by using super glue or something, but for the price you shouldn't need to do that.

Don't get me wrong, I like everything about them aside from the above, it's just that you can do better with the Technics and about the same with the Pioneer headphones.

If you plan on using these for home use in a controlled environment (aka you're not letting others use them) they should work out well.

As for the cable, most of the deejays I know all use a similar trick to help preserve the life of it, it's simple:

Take the "plug" in your left hand. with your right hand grab the cable where the coils begin. Wrap the first 4-5 coils around the black part of the plug, carefully ensuring that the wrap is secure.

If you should end up with a loop at the top of the cable. When pulling on the cord the stress will transfer to the coil wrapped on the plug and not the more fragile portion at the top of the plug.

This will make your cable outlast the rest of your headphones... long after the casings have snapped in half, been reglued and snapped again... your cable will still function.

  4. these are great headphones my only complaint would be the built in eq; sounds good but is not accurate to the sound out put for live shows.

  5. I had to buy headphones for three reasons. 1. I live in an apartment that isn't "noise" friendly. 2. I love music and movies 3. I play music professionally and needed some good monitor headphones that sound like live shows (extra bass).

    Ok Cons first.
1.Yes they are heavier then most headphones (get over this quickly unless you are old or you have the neck of a 4 year old child).
    2. You will look ridiculous in these (unless your ego is as big as mine)
    3. Thats all the cons

    Now the pros

    1. These Headphones kicked the crap out of my friends Bose he left at my house. Ok my friend works for a company I will not tell you (starts with A ends with pple) So he got a discount on the Bose Headphones. I tried them on and was very happy about the acoustic sound and light weight. Yet when the bass came into the song there was none. Bose do not make anything that gets past the mid range and anyone who buys from them knows this (if it doesn't have a sub there is no bass people).

    2. When watching movies at home the 1/4 jack packs extra punch. I have a Onkyo receiver hooked up to a 7.1 jbl system usually watching movies from my ps3 through the digital optical port directly into my onkyo. So when action sequences start I want to hear them. These headphones work perfectly and give me the bass that I spent so much money getting and not being able to use at 2 a.m. in the morning. These headphones make the perfect substitute to my terrible hours and need to watch movies late at night.

    3. The Price. My friend spent $120 on his and obviously loves them because he left them at my house for over 3 weeks now. I actually got these at B & H photo for $89 and a 2 year warranty for $11 (sorry amazon I still love you). Also now that I have these people that frequently "crash" at my place know to use these and not wake me up in the morning (afternoon).

Overall nothing will ever be perfect and yes they are a bit clunky for the lazy in all of us but the price and sound quality definitely make up the difference.

5 comments about Kensington RDS FM Transmitter/Auto Charger for iPod (Black).
  1. Using the Kensington RDS transmitter in a 2004 Audi Cabriolet. The transmitter inserted to the cigarette lighter does not interfere with the arm rest. It has simple instructions for use. I programed three off station memories in the radio. Then programed the ipod nano for those frequencies and memorized them in the transmitter. The music sounds good to me and with three options for frequency, it's easily changed on the fly when needed. Most of all, this device looks OK in the car. No LED lights or hard to read LCD displays... just some brushed metal and black plastic. It works with the screen of the ipod Nano. The RDS really works, a few seconds delay, then the ipod's song/artist information is displayed on the Audi radio and in the center instrument display. Looks good, works good. May not be for everyone as it sticks out a bit more from the cigarette lighter than some transmitters, also if your car does not have RDS.... why buy it in the first place? Best option I could find without having an after market company put in an expensive ipod interface.

  2. I bought this after my 33199 quit working (after almost two years of use). The first time I plugged this new one into my car and tried it out, I thought it was a pretty nifty update. But as I kept using it, I realized that unlike the old model, this one doesn't shut off when you unplug it or turn off the car (maybe I'm missing something, but 99% of the time, if you've been listening to your iPod using this transmitter in your car, wouldn't you want it to turn off when you turn the car off and thus can no longer hear it? I certainly do).

When you do plug it in or turn the car on, it keeps playing whatever song was on when you turned the iPod off, but it displays the Main Menu so if you want to look at the playlist you had been using, you have to re-navigate to it. But first you have to wait a few seconds while it displays the frequency you're on, which also seems pretty pointless because in most cases I would expect that you want to keep using whatever frequency you were using last. Perhaps more to the point, I do get static at times; it seems to change with the position of the iPod itself.

Are these the worst tribulations anyone's ever suffered? Of course not. But they weren't present in the old model, which is why I'm switching back to that one and I encourage you to do the same until Kensington makes this one function more smoothly and intuitively.

  3. looks great-looks best in an ipod nano.
works great-works how my last kensington one did which is nice tha ti didn't have to learna new format
the cord gets tangled easily but jsut cuse i dont keep good care of it.

  4. Poor Quality product. Long lag time between plugging in the transmitter before it is recognized and the ipod starts playing. Froze up on me several times and would not respond. However, the main problem is the signal tansmission is very weak and low quality. Has static and hiss regardlesss of how close I get it to the stereo and antenna, my scanner on my radio would not even pick up the station. And we only have about 12 radio stations in this part of Alaska, so background interference was not the problem.

  5. I read some bad reviews about this item but for the price, it does the job. The volume is low and it does pick up a lot of interference but the solution to the interference problem was to put down the antenna of the car. I couldn't figure out the volume problem but it was better than listening to talk radio for 4 hours.

  1. Works great with Sky Caddie. Just plugged it into my DELL Vostro and it worked right off the bat. Drivers autmatically install.

  2. We bought this to replace one that we had to give to my brother. It is overpriced but works fine

  3. This adapter is is the US version of the ATEN adapter, UC232A. Same adapter just a different label. I have used this adapter to connect to modems on Windows, 2000, XP, and Vista computers. It is the only VISTA compatible adapter that actually works on VISTA (that I have tested). Unfortunately the VISTA driver does not come on the CD. You will need to download the driver from IO Gear's website.

The adapter also has OS X drivers but it DOES NOT function on OS X with modems. It will not work. Best to use the Keyspan running OS X.

  4. I bought this device in hopes that it would emulate as a serial port and work with Cisco Rollover Cables. It works! I can hyperterminal as COM8 or COM9 and make changes on various Cisco switches. Used it all day at work and did not have a problem.

I don't believe in using the CD media provided. I downloaded from the website and did not have one problem installing drivers.

I have also read that it works for OS X to do Cisco work. So happy it works. I wish laptops still had Serial Ports installed on them.

  5. I have spent hours and hours testing these devices. They work fine under most circumstances. They are low power devices as explained in a review by somebody else. Put one of them on a computer and as long as the electrical ground is good between the computer and the device sending and/or receiving the data, they work flawlessly. Also, they have problems with long cable runs. If you put two or more on a computer, you can be assured that your system will crash as soon as you start sending large amounts of data through both devices. You system will crash even if the data are not sent simultaneously.

Oh yes, forget support from IOGEAR. You will either get a non-answer or no answer.

3 comments about JBL On Stage IIIP Portable Speaker Dock for iPhone 1G and iPod (Black).
  1. I've owned older versions of the JBL On Stage line and this one has been the best experience yet. The sound produced from this model is great and gets loud enough without distortion to use in any environment. When you first dock an iPod or iPhone with it and begin playing, it starts out on a low volume setting so you have to turn it up each time you dock it but it keeps you from being blasted out like the older models did. I haven't bothered to use this one running on the 6 AA batteries since I've always been somewhere with AC power for it. I've only used this with the original iPhone. There are some changes Apple made to how the 3G iPhones charge that although they will play music through older devices, they'll display an error message when you first connect them. With the original iPhone this speaker worked perfectly, though.

  2. I've had previous versions of this product and find this one much improved.
    - It does work with my iPhone 3G, including the charging.
    - Improved sound quality.
    - Battery powered (optional)

The only downgrade with respect to past versions is the remote control:
    - Less intuitive buttons. Difficult to operate in the dark
    - Dependent on Infrared, instead of the old RF. This means you need direct line of sight to the unit for it to work.

  3. This was a great little speaker system until...

I recently updated my iPhone 1st generation to software version 2.1, and this speaker system is no longer compatible. When I plug it in, it now asks me if I want to go into Airplane Mode, and does not charge the phone.

Recommended, as long as you don't update your iPhone software to the latest version!
