5 comments about CABLES UNLIMITED ZIP-LINQ Retractable Notebook Power Cord Kit.
  1. This is an excellent item for those who travel with their notebook or if you just want to reduce clutter. Stores well in a laptop bag. No problems using this cord outside of the United States with 220v power, however a plug/outlet adapter will needed.

  2. I bought two of these and one worked for about a week, then surprisingly jammed up. It wouldn't come out of the spool. I must have pulled too hard because the whole thing exploded, with the two plastic halves of the spool and the coiled up spring flying across the room. A bit funny and embarrasing in front of a customer... The second one has worked fine.

  3. This product did not fit my notebook so it is useless to me. The product description did not say that it only fits certain notebooks. Now that it is opened, I cannot return it.

  4. I bought this to help reduce my cable clutter when I'm traveling. I'm pretty pleased with the result. It is fairly chunky, the retractor hub is 2 1/4" in diameter and 3/4" thick, but it still takes up less space than my old cable, with less mess. It seems sturdy and well built.

It replaces the laptop AC cable, i.e the cable from the wall AC outlet to the laptop's power transformer. (It doesn't replace the transformer!) At the transformer end, it supports the standard two prong "Figure Eight" connector and includes an adapter for the three prong "Mickey Mouse" connector. These are the two most common laptop power connectors.

  5. After a few weeks of use, it got jammed. There is no way to open to spool without breaking it, so I pulled the wire. Then it popped open and the springs popped out. I have since used it as a regular power cable. I wouldn't recommend this product at all unless it is the most inexpensive notebook power cable since the cable itself is durable and has adequate length (not too short, not too long).

3 comments about Digital Fiber Optical (Toslink) to Digital Coaxial (S/PDIF) Converter.
  1. This is by far the quality (BUT FAIRLY INEXPENSIVE) answer to connecting a PS3 to an older Harman/Kardon AV100 receiver when connections are limited or already used. My optical connection from my HDTV satellite receiver to the H/K receiver was already in place, no HDMI inputs were available, thus leaving the digital coax inputs as my best solution.

I connected the converter via a short HDMI (PS3) to Digital input cable (converter). Then from the Digital Out (converter) to Coax. 2 of the H/K. Then plugged the converter into a 110 outlet and I was up and running.

It took a bit of research to determine how to tell the H/K that a digital signal was coming in. WOW! NOW MY
BLU-RAY DVD'S and PS3 have the necessary Dolby 5.1 outputs.

Being a tried and true Amazon.com believer, I chose to order all three products from them. The only problem was that the three products all came from three destinations (known in advance) so tracking the order(s) is a little cumbersome although not a problem otherwise.

All 3 products have worked like a charm.

  2. I just got this since my new Samsung surround sound system only has coaxial digital inputs but I didn't want to use stereo and my Xbox 360 only accepted toslink fiber optical. It does its job but true fiber optical will do better.

  3. I knew I was missing some bandwidth by using a digital optical cable but that's the only means of connecting my Panasonic DVD recorder. That was until I "discovered" and installed this converter. Now I hear everything I was meant to in my DVD movies and I owe it all to this little silver box. I suppose a DVD recorder with a digital coaxial jack is the way to go but for those of us who have already invested in an expensive recorder this converter is the next best thing to getting all the bandwidth you were meant to enjoy. BTW - I have virtually no trouble or problems with mine. Sorry to hear that others do. Curious.

5 comments about Contour Design iSee Case for iPod nano 3G (Clear).
  1. The case does what it is supposed to do. It does not add much weight or thickness to the ipod nano. It is easy to put on and take off. I like that you can take the belt clip off or leave it on. I felt like the cover over the click wheel was not going to stay, but so far so good.

  2. I had purchased this item from an Apple store, on the recommendation of one of the clerks there. It comes in the over-packaging that seems typical of Apple-related products. Once you liberate everything, there are five pieces: a hard, clear plastic front face, two hard, clear plastic rear faces (one for use with the belt clip, the other without), a circular rubbery protector for the click wheel, a belt clip, and a hard plastic disk that (apparently) can be used to plug the holes in the rear face plate that is meant for use with the belt clip. You have two choices: assemble with the smooth back (no belt clip) or use the back with the holes for the clip. Actually, even if you don't plan using the belt clip, you might as well assemble it that way, as it's very difficult to get the two halves apart once you snap them together. Also, the flexible dock port protector is only attached to the belt clip face. The assembly instructions are mostly about how to insert the click wheel protector, and they get that part wrong (insert the protector with the larger ridge facing outward, not inward). Assembly is actually straightforward once you sort out where all the pieces go: 1) insert the click wheel protector from the inside (ridge facing out), 2) snap on the back (with the belt clip holes), and 3) either attach the belt clip or the disk that fills the belt clip holes if you're not using the clip. At this point your iPod is well protected. However in use there are several drawbacks. The dock port protector gets in the way when you plug in the docking connector and pushes up on the connector. Connectors don't like sideways forces and over time this could lead to a failure of the connector. Another problem is they didn't leave enough clearance around the headphone jack. Normal-sized earbud cables seem to be OK, but I had also bought a Griffin SmartShare headphone splitter cable to use with my iPod. But there's not enough clearance around the jack to plug in the splitter cable, which has a larger-sized plug housing. This product's going back.

  3. Excellent, slim profile case. Read other reviews about how to open it as it is not self evident at first. My third party earphones click in fully--something other cases didn't allow. Like that the back clip can be detached. Protection over click wheel works well. Protection over the charger access port stays attached so you don't lose it. It can be a little hard to reach the hold button, but easy if you have long fingernails. But this seems in part to be an issue with the 3G Nano's smaller button. But I have managed with short fingernails--so it takes me an extra second to search it out. Worth it for the rest of the features this case provides.

  4. I have my Nano 3G attached to my car stereo and wanted something to protect it from get moving about in the glove box. This is perfect. The opening in the bottom means it plugs conveniently to the stereo. I like it so much that I've also purchased the 2G version.

  5. I purchased this case shortly after buying my Nano. It is a very good case. It protects the Nano from scratches and it even protected it when I accidentally dropped my new Nano from about a 3 ft. drop. Overall, good product. The only issue I have with it is that the scroll wheel protector makes it harder to navigate through the menus or control volume.

5 comments about Nike SHJ020 Lightweight Neckband Headphone - Black.
  1. These headphones really feel secure when I'm running. I like how the cable comes out the back so I don't have to worry about it getting snagged on a branch if I'm on a trail. I'd give them 5 stars except that they sometimes come loose when I turn my head too far to the left or right (This my have to do with my longer than average neck, though).

  2. I just received this in the mail today. They are very light, but when I wear them as I think they're meant to be worn, they don't stay in my ears at all. However, my mom suggested that I try wearing them a different way (with the side marked "R" on my left ear, the side marked "L" on my right ear, and the curved parts hooked over each ear - so basically back-to-front and upside-down), and this seems to work far better. No joke. They don't fall out at all. They're still a tad bit uncomfortable, but they seem like they'd actually work pretty well for running. I'm still not sure if the "L"/"R" markings are misplaced and the headphones are actually supposed to be worn this way or not. So give it a shot the other way, maybe that'll work for you too.

  3. I bought these for running primarily due to the cord design. The cord does stay out of your way quite nicely. The sound quality is about what you'd expect in a set of headphones of the price. However, the headphones would not stay in my ears for longer than a couple of minutes. Perhaps I have big ears, but a set of adjustable sized ear plugs would have been ideal. If they fit in your ears, they are a good deal. However, I've sent them back and am again looking for a pair that comes with adjustable sized ear plugs.

  4. I hate earbuds so these really do work well, especially when running. The upside is they're comfortable and durable, especially for the $$. The downside is that I'm on my 4th set in about 4 years. Unfortunately, one side ends up shorting out over time (about a year), and there is nothing you can do about it but replace them. For me, it's a no brainer. There's nothing else on the market for the price that's worked as well. The sound quality is good and I'm happy with the product...as long as they work. When it shorts out, I just purchase another set.

  5. These headphones are awesome they keep the cord out from in front of you and they give good quality sound. my only complaint was that it didnt feel right when you wear them how you're supposed to. they always felt like they werent all the way in or they were gonna fall out. they work better if you wear them upside down but with the cord still behind your neck.

1 comments about On Stage DS7200B Adjustable Desk Microphone Stand, Black.
  1. I purchased this microphone stand to use with a large diaphragm recording microphone in a shock mount. While it only functions moderately well for this purpose, as the base is not heavy enough to completely counterbalance the microphone and microphone mount, I would have to believe it was not designed for the purpose I am using it for, so I'm not judging it based on my "off-label" use.

That said, the base is plenty heavy enough to hold a lighter microphone, or a microphone who's weight is centered more over the staff of the stand. The manufacturing was flawless and the stand works exactly as advertised. Overall, this stand is good value for the money.

5 comments about Belkin PureAV Digital Camcorder FireWire Cable; FireWire 4-Pin to 4-Pin, 6 ft..
  1. I searched a lot on the net before deciding on this cable. The price was great and the specs looked good, so I decided to get it. The cable looks to be very well made and has worked fine for all of the video I have transfered to my computer.

  2. I'm using this cable to transfer video from my Sony Handycam to my DVD Burner. Make sure you shop around for it, I paid a little too much.

  3. Bought the cable to copy video from Mini DV to DVD recorder. Worked for several hours and then no picture or sound. Bought replacement and solved the problem. Original went back to Amazon for a quick replacement. I'm keeping it for a spare. Cable does a great job.

  4. This is exactly what I needed to hook my dv cam to the laptop. It arrived in perfect time.

    Thanks!

  5. After 2 trips to Best Buy and being given the wrong cable, I found the correct cable on Amazon cheaper than the ones I bought at the local computer store. This is the cable I needed to download digital video images from my JVC camcorder to a computer so I could then put them on a disk. It was interesting that this firewire cable did not come with the videa camera, but that is another story. Now that I have all essential parts, the digital video and transfer to a DVD is a really nice trick. Before buying this, be sure your computer is firewire capable.

  1. Excellent addition to our Zen Stone Mp3 players. Great for when a computer USB port is not avail. for charging such as on vacation/traveling. Works great and the price is very affordable. Was delivered on time and without a hitch..keep up the good work. Thanks Rhino

  2. The shipping process was fast...that's why I gave it a star.
However the charger is a piece of junk. I still am trying to charge up the Zen Micro MP3, now going over 24 hours of charging and the battery is still showing low charge... Would not recommend this charger to no one.
I am not even going to waste my time returning it... it's not cost effective.
Shipping cost more to ship back.
    Another unsatisfied customer.

5 comments about HP DVD-R 4.7GB 16x Inkjet-Printable 100 Spindle (DMJPW045).
  1. these are good, they have failed less than other brands ive tried so far, the print surface takes well. the only thing i wish is that i could take advantage of the fact that even the inner ring of the disc that is typically clear plastic is covered in printable surface, but this is no fault of the disc but of my printer. ;)

  2. I bought an Epson RX680 printer, then started shopping for printable DVDs. This HP is the first I've tried and I selected it because HP is pretty reliable and this was the best unit cost I could find, because other sources charge for shipping. I'm getting beautiful print jobs with this printer and these discs. I've printed about 50 so far. One of the discs was defective on the "burn" side, so 4 stars.

  3. I bought the tower of 100 blank printable DVDs at a good price for a good brand and I may decide to come shopping here again

  4. HP continues to produce a high quality product as expected. Not one coaster and the printing surface produces an excellent image. Thank you Amazon for another great product at a great price!

  5. Love these discs, good price, print well - like better than lightscribe. Video quality good, came on time....Jim
