5 comments about V-Moda Vibe Earbuds - Red Roxx.
  1. Really enjoyed these because they sounded great, but didn't last more than 3 months. The coating around the wires started to peel away at both the earbuds and the jack. Really disappointing considering the price. Won't buy these again.

  2. A fantastic product!!!! Music sounds so much different with these than the ones usually included with mp3 players. I have 2 of them and it is very good value for the price!

  3. I am on my third pair of these ear-buds because they sound so great and are very comfortable. Very good base response.

The reason I'm on my third pair is because I tend to be hard on them at the gym.

The manufacturer must have listened to complaints about the durability. I just received my new pair today. They have been re-designed with a braided cord and new durable plug. The cord now enters the plug at an angle, and is re-enforced with rubber. I highly recommend these.

  4. These are really superior to any other ear buds, but maybe they are too good because they do prevent any outside noises from getting through so I don't recommend them for driving while listening to your favorite tunes. They are excellent quality and really make for the most enjoyable experience to get down with your music.

  5. I bought these to replace a set of UltimateEars that I murdered with a pair of garden shears while working in the yard. Some observations: The earpieces themselves are quite light, lighter than what I expected. The cord (as mentioned) has a braided insulation. It is less tangle prone than many others that I've used.
These come with 6 sets (small, medium, large in black and clear silicon. Most wearers should be able to find a combination that is comfortable. The fit is comfortable. It doesn't, however, give a very tight seal like the Etymotic ER-6i, so there is a trade off between sound isolation and comfort here. One small annoyance: the L and R markings are quite small and hard to read.
The sound is solid. They have more bass than others in the price range, and the highs aren't overly bright. Do not expect greatness in this price range, however these are very competitive with others in this price range. The styling is better than most of the others, and (if you are of a mind) the differing colors can be made to match a player.

5 comments about Memorex 4.7Gb/16x DVD-R (50-Pack Spindle).
  1. Memorex makes a very reliable blank DVD-R that can handle up to 4.7 GB of data. Moreover, these blank DVD-Rs are capable of recording data at speeds up to 16x. The video I record onto these lasts forever. I have used these as discs to record video both with and without audio.

The DVD-R discs are compact and easy to store. While the discs are still blank, store them in the circular case on the spindle that they came in. After your record video onto them, I would recommend storing them in slim jewel cases instead of paper sleeves. It's just better protection for your DVD-Rs that have information stored on them. Don't store these discs, used or blank, in rooms that become very hot; this causes damage to any brand of this type of disc and you could lose your recorded video over time.

There are two caveats that many other people note about any brand of this product: when you are burning the video onto the blank disc using computer software, don't be surprised if you see that the data is burning at a rate slower than 16x. This can happen if your burner doesn't have the capacity to burn faster, or it may be a quirk. I am not a professional so I cannot be certain of precisely what causes this phenomenon; but I assure you that the extra minute or two (tops) that you wait to get your DVD-R completed is worth the wait. In addition, DON'T write on these using Sharpie ink pens. The ink can seep through the top coating of the DVD-R disc and slowly but surely compromise your data--and you wouldn't want that, now would you? If you need to label the discs, label its' jewel case using a post-it note.

Overall, Memorex blank DVD-R discs store video reliably over the years and I believe that an extra minute to burn the data onto the blank disc is well worth it in the event that it doesn't actually burn at 16x.

    Use `em in good health!

  2. When I searched for "Light Scribe" enabled disks I was shown a set of 50 Memorex LightScribe DVD+R's. Along with the a description that correctly followed the picture. After ordering and receiving my product I received a regular 50 pack of DVD-R's that were not LightScribe.

I did not fault anyone until I went to Ritz's customer service for help since they were the vendor. This was absolutely no help because I was told that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee as well as the additional shipping charge to return something that was not what I ordered in the first place. Never once was I offered by Ritz to simply swap the items out for what I had thought I was supposed to be receiving. I was told that Amazon's website probably led to an improperly labled or completed item and that was the reason for the mix up but that it should now be properly displayed...and it was for a 10 dollars more than what I had paid for.

I understand when mistakes are made and if website updates cause problems with improper links being followed on similar items, but the way in which Ritz Camera and their policies handled this situation was shameful and I intend to never purchase anything from them either online or at local stores again for the sly way in which they covered their own foul up.

  3. These things are CHEAP! And I don't mean that in the sense that they're a bargain, they're a ripoff. I tried to save some money and get these instead of a better brand. Failed burn, after failed burn, after failed burn. I ONLY BOUGHT A 10 PACK AND I'VE GOT 4 COASTERS!! If you want quality blank media, get Sonys. And If you really want superior quality then invest in some Taiyo Yuden brand media. They Are the best buy far. I've burned literally hundreds of disks on them and NEVER had a failed burn.

  4. I bought the Memorex DVD-R and they were all defective. They wouldn't read or record. Save yourself the trouble and cost and buy somebody else's brand.

  5. Memorex DVD-Rs are, I have found, the best overall value for the money. I have a reasonably recent Sony DVD+/-RW recorder with BluRay capability and found that some of the non-mainstream brands would fail during burning. The Memorex DVD-Rs are consistently good quality, and I have had only one fail out of three 50-Pack spindles.

    Highly recommended!

5 comments about Motorola Battery Li-Ion CDMA (KRZR) [Motorola Retail Packaging].
  1. Used it for a month now and the battery performs like the original battery that came with the phone. Wasted money on cheapo battery on ebay and learnt my lesson. Quite reliable and as advertised.

  2. This product really did not improve battery life as advertised. I can sometimes get 2 days out of it. I don't talk a lot on the phone, so I really expected more battery life for just sitting idle most of the time.

  3. Worked perfectly with my Verizon KRZR, and much cheaper than buying at the store. However, I could not remove the back plate on my phone and had to go the Verizon store anyway. Turns out that it was glued on.

  4. Battery arrived on time and in excellent condition.

It works better than my original!

  5. The original battery that came with my KRZR was garbage. Within days of buying my phone, a full recharge would last only a day of idle time. It kept getting worse and by a month, 5 min of talk time would wipe out a full charge. I was skeptical to get another one of these batteries, but I knew I had gotten a lemon. I'm glad I did. The new is awesome. A recharge lasts forever, and I can talk for hours without worry. Batteries are pretty hit or miss, but the battery is in original retail packaging, which always helps. It's not the longest lasting battery, my original Samsung S105 battery lasted much much longer.

Btw, I asked what the price was for this battery at a Verizon mall kiosk and they told me $40!

5 comments about Archos Docking Adapter Kit for 404, 504, and 604 Series Players.
  1. This is great no problems here, you can take it to anyplace and have the corresponding adapters for AC charge, also it charges the archos faster then the usb.

  2. IT makes the recharging of the Archos battery quite a bit faster than the USB cable alone. It is light weight but I do not take it in trips, I use it at home to recharge the battery and connect the ARCHOS 604 to my desktop and transfer files, for travel I use the provided cable and my laptop that I need to take anyway. If you do not have to travel with a laptop then this would definitively be worth taking with you.

  3. This was a great accessory for my Archos 404. It charges faster than attaching it to my PC and there are more ways to connect it to various devices. Highly reccomended.

  4. Although this product works well why the hell didn't they include this absolutely essential item with the product? Was it because they wanted us to pay extra and buy a little bit of this and little bit of that? By the way the Archos unit itself is very good, but the learning curve is extensive and the buttons are so unintuitive that it makes operation rather frustrating at times.

  5. Its a great kit to have with your Archos 604. No need to lug the laptop on vacations...you can connect your camera to the dock and download your pictures in minutes! Great buy!

  1. Purchased this to connect an old HP LaserJet 4ML to a new Intel iMac. Just plugged it in and it worked. iMac recognized the printer model and shows up as an available printer in application print dialog boxes. Does not say it is Mac compatable but it works!

  2. Worked like a charm, wish I would have taken the time to get this long ago, would have saved me alot of money on ink.

  3. I plugged it into my old Laserjet 4P, and connected my MacBook Pro. It worked. Ta-da.

  4. Count me in the ranks of the intel mac users below who were able to use this cable. My recently purchased hp 5100tn is no longer a $450 paperweight. Thanks to the other reviewers who swayed me to try this cable!

  5. I bought this to work with a Laserjet 5 printer. I found it installed easily and needed no drivers to work with Windows XP. I've printed text and graphics without a problem. Very happy with this product.

5 comments about Shure E4c Sound Isolating Earphones.
  1. I sold my Bose Noise Canceling headphones to buy these. They sound a heck of a lot better, and they block out enough sound so that I don't miss the canceling feature of the Bose.

  2. I am a fanatic of quality sound. I`ve been searching for a long time till i get the excellent sound in my ears. The first step was finding a good mp3 player and finally found the answer in Sony nw a808. Then, once i got the player i needed the best earphones. Long was the travel my friends till i reached the shore. I explored many brands including a copule of sony earphones, sony ex style that came with the player, phillips, and senheisser cx 300. Finally i read several web reviews of this tiny earbuds , fantastic every of them, listing this earphones always between the best five you can buy. So i decided it worth a try and i bought them. Believe me when i say they are simply awesome. Well balanced sound spectrum, well defined trebles and bass, guitars play perfect and tambours too. You can hear sounds you didn`t know they were there. For those who are fanatic of more thann powerful bass i suggest they try to find another who play them that way- senheisser do that- but in my personal opinion if you want a perfect clarity of every sound and instruments you need these earphones, because an excesive bass may provoque a losing of quality of sound as i tested on previous earphones. I gave them a five cause they are the best i tested so far. I guess the e5 may be better-twice the money- but for the price i believe you won`t get anything better than these earphones. The delivery service was excellent , it arrived before the estimated date. No complains only thanks.P.S. They are no more E4, shure now names them SCL4.

  3. I don't know that I would pay this much for headphones again, but I am not at all disappointed with the quality. These earbuds sound great and are very crisp. There isn't as much bass response as some of the other earbuds out there, but at the same time, the balance between bass, mid and treble is almost perfect. I would recommend these earbuds to anyone in the market for a higher end listening experience.

  4. I am in no way knowledgable enough to speak about the technical aspects of these earphones but I am able to speak as a consumer who searched for a long time to find the right ones. Found them!

They are light and the sound can't be compared to what I was used to before. In fact, I find that sometimes the sounds of the real world are inferior when I take my earphones off after an extended use. I used to own Shure SE210-K and the Shure E4C sounds superior to me.

I enjoy using these earphones on the plane because I effectively shut out noise of the plane and passengers - and also the tinny music noise coming from the cheap white iPod headphones from the person next to me.

The fit is excellent and the different kinds of buds provided gave me enough choice to find the right one for me.

Last, but not least, the white color is definitely a better choice than black. It goes well with any iPod and frankly, the black ones I used to own looked very unappealing on me.

My husband complains that I can't hear anything else around me when I listen to my iPod with these headphones. I say, mission accomplished!

  5. Great treble and midrange. Not so much bass. Isolates all noise around so you get a clean and natural sound. These are comfortable in the ears. I also have Shure se530 and e4c sound almost as good but not in the bass area. SE530 also has more crisp sound with more punch. looks cooler to.

5 comments about Subwoofer Cable 13 ft..
  1. This was an good deal at $15 for 4 delivered. I replaced 3 sub cables that were going to amps with only the left (mono)input cable in them. It increased the signal strength and gave a much more solid connection. As a matter a fact, these were not easy to push on all the way. It took so much force, I had to be careful not to break anything. I knocked down a star for this reason. Other than that, these work great! Quality-wise, these are a solid medium grade. That's a HUGE step up from your standard red/white rca connections. I tried daisy chaining cheap ones together from sub to sub and the last few wouldn't work at all. That's how I found out sub cables really do matter. I'm very happy with this purchase.

  2. This cable is only helpful if you have a really old receiver or subwoofer because it is the wrong type to use in modern home theater systems. I would not buy this product again and still have it in the original packaging. The manual that came with my receiver advised against using this type of cable so instead I used the cable that came with my subwoofer. However if you do need the cable it is simply a radio shack cable that was sent from a catalog electronics retailer, don't worry they will also send you a catalog.

  3. This is actually a Radio Shack brand cable according to the plastic box it came in. Quick delivery.

  4. Product received (very quickly!) exactly as described. Great seller, would do business with again!

  5. This really helped me. I didnt really want to get a Y splitter adapter; then I woulda had to figure out which ends I wanted to be male and female. This made it a lot simpler.
Those that have a subwoofer with left and right jacks, u can hear the difference when using just left or right vs. something like this. So get this or a Y splitter adapter.

5 comments about Multi-use Stereo Microphone.
  1. I don't understand the positive reviews for this product. It didn't even work as well as the built-in microphone that came with my Olympus pocket digital recorder.

  2. Purchased this microphone for recording lectures at the university. It works flawlessly and has good sensitivity.

  3. I bought this item to use with my 5G iPod and Griffin's iTalk Pro. It works perfectly and the quality of the sound is very clear with no hiss or clicks. I like the clothes pin style clip and the mic swivels to any direction for any suitable position. Highly recomend this product for your voice or music recordings.

    Tony Aldridge
    Longview Texas

  4. Pros:
Inexpensive, records in stereo (quite well), lapel clip is very strong, and the mic swivels, so you can adjust it accordingly.

    Cons:
The frequency is a little high, so some recordings may come out a little tinny sounding because there's little to no low-range on this mic. For the price, you can't really expect much. Also, I wish the wire was a little longer. It's pretty short, so you either need your source in your shirt pocket, or less than 2 feet from the mic. Also, it would be nice if they made this mic in black. Unless you're wearing a white shirt, it really stands out. These are all petty complaints, because the mic really does work quite well for the price, but there are a couple of drawbacks.

  5. I bought this mic on the strength of the many good reviews, and I certainly wasn't disappointed! The mic's sensitivity is absolutely amazing. It gives me the same recording level without MIC BOOST as any of my other mics with the MIC BOOST. That's like getting a +20dB gain without any increase in the noise. Beautiful! I haven't actually listened to the recordings through good headphones yet, so I can't comment on the quality of the sound, but even with some run-of-the-mill earbuds I can hear a clear improvement over my other lapel mic (Radio Shack). The highs are definitely crisper, and the whole sound is fuller. It's heartening to know SOME things are still built right in this day and age.

3 comments about Creative X-Fi Wireless Receiver for Xdock and Xmod Wireless.
  1. The X-Fi Wireless Receiver is a nice product for the price that you're paying for in order to have a complete surround sound system throughout your home.

The Good: I'm impressed with the setup of the system, as it's very straight forward and intuitive and with a few tweaks with my audio source (Winamp on my computer), I was able to play the audio on my computer and two other locations in my home. The design is very sleek and the additional remotes to control the source are great.

The Bad: As one would expect with a wireless system, there are occasional cutouts between the source and the receivers so the audio will disappear, but not enough to be an annoying distraction. Although this is not necessarily a "bad" point, it's worth noting that you should locate the receivers in clear view so the remotes will work well.

    The Ugly: None.

  2. If you are like me and enjoy listening to online videos -- for me it's news, history, etc. -- then this product is for you. It is a tremendous step over the older technology I had. Last I looked on Amazon, it was for sale for about 50 percent off, so I bought an additional unit. I would have paid twice the price; that's how highly I think of this product.

  3. The product itself is awesome. It really is. I was so impressed, that in addition to the dock being setup in the living room, I have 2 receivers. One in our bedroom, one in the office. SLICK!!! I was working in the garage all day, and took my wife's iPod bucket out there, and connected the receiver from my office to the line in of the iPod bucket. My wife loves it, because on laundry day, she can run the wash on the first floor, and fold her wash on the second floor without missing a single song. AWESOME!!!

Now for the bad news. First, NEVER, and I mean NEVER turn off ANY of the recievers. It sends the turn off command to the main dock as well, and the ONLY thing I found that works to turn it back on, is to reset the X-Dock transmitter. You do that by pressing both the next/previous buttons at the same time. It is happy if you press mute. I figured it out by myself. NO help on Creative's website on this issue. It puts it in standby mode. If you are running wireless, stay way the heck away from this. Nothing but nightmares. I have a Belkin N1, the fastest and highest end wireless available. Smooth as silk, until I added the X-Dock. Now I can be 2 feet from the router, WITH a matching N1 wireless network adapter in my laptop, and it doesn't find the wireless. H U G E N I G H T M A R E!!!! VERY seriously thinking about whether or not the incredible convenience of having the iPod in the living room, and playing it throughout the whole house is worth it. Already been to Creative's website no less than 3 times, and haven't found any help at all on this problem. A tip if you DO decide to get it. Program your router to be on channel 11. It helped a lot. I'm fortunate.... I'm an IT guy, so I have the skills to troubleshoot and try to find a workaround. Most people don't.

Bottom line, in my opnion..... if your home network is wired, this is freaking awesome. If you have wireless and you don't have the skill or patience to deal with the router, in terms of configuration or a LOT of reboots, S T A Y A W A Y from this product. You will go through a LOT of Excedrine Migrain.

    Hope this review helped.
