  1. Vista will put in the drivers for the device, but soon as you try to put in the memory chip it freezes up - over and over again. I tried looking for solutions on the internet and tried some Microsoft fix solutions for SD memory, but I could not get it to work with this product. However, it worked great on a Win2000 machine, and - no putting Vista in compatibility mode for Win2000 on this device did not work either.

  2. It appears to be a decent card reader. But I have to wonder if it's REALLY worth $500.00! Especially if you can get a used one for $1.89...... =o)

5 comments about Speck 13" MacBook-Compatible See-Thru Hard Case, Aqua.
  1. I bought my macbook a little over a year ago. I immediately purchased the case to protect it and it seemed like a great idea at first. It does however create internal scratching on its own and bumpy rough scratches end up appearing on the cover. If you're willing to remove the case ever so often and wipe it down, maybe it would keep it looking better. Plus, removing the case is such a frustrating process. I always feel like i'm walking on eggshells. unless you're a neat freak and could handle the pressure while opening it don't get it.

  2. It will protect the exterior from scratches and perhaps from some minor trauma, don't think that it will protect it from a fall.... additionally, you should buy a keyboard and/or screen cover to protect the functional components of the computer.

  3. It does exactly what you want it do, it protects your macbook from scratches and etc. I hear people talking about how it scratches their macbook, and I have to disagree. It hasn't hurt mine at all, and it has protected it from getting some pretty bad scrapes. I think half of the issue, is people do not know how to remove their case. You have to be really really careful with it.

  4. Overall a great tool to keep your MacBook from getting scratched. I love the color options because it makes my Book unique. My only problem is making sure that it is secured in every corner.

  5. I got my brand new white macbook and I wanted it to be protected from wear and tear. I bought the Speck case, thinking it would help protect my laptop, but it definitely did a lot more damage than protection.
Before buying, I thought it was expensive, but figured it was worth it. I was SO wrong! This case is a piece of junk. Like other users, the rubber feet fell off, which left nasty sticky stuff on the plastic which accumulated dust, hair, and dirt. Disgusting. Also, the dirt that got between the case and my laptop scratched it up. When I first put the case on, I thought it looked cool. It scratches so easily that now I just want to rip the thing off, which is nearly impossible. So far, I've only been able to get the bottom off, and I'm scared I will hurt my computer trying to get the top off. This product is a complete rip-off; it was probably made in some foreign country and is worth a couple bucks, though it is sold for nearly $50.
Take my advice: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

5 comments about Tripp Lite P132-000 DVI to HDMI Gold Adapter - DVI F to HDMI-M.
  1. This is my first time writing a review about anything! I'll make it short and sweet. This piece was great. It did everything it was supposed to. The only downside to this is that with the adapter and the plug already being so big, it sticks out quite a bit. It would be way better to get the cable that has hdmi on one side and dvi on the other. Nothing wrong with this product at all, though. works perfectly!

  2. If you are using this to go from DVI from a computer or something into a flat screen TV, it may not work for you. I had to purchase an HDMI extension cable in order to make it work. The reason is that many TV's these days have the connections recessed up into the body, and this connector, combined with another DVI connector, makes it too long to fit in the recess. Other than that, it's a great product and works as advertised. Seems very well made and sturdy.

  3. works great. I use it to allow my belkin flip switch to work with my hp hmdi laptop. and it works awesome

  4. I use this adapter with my Playstation 3. I thought that the adapter might block the LAN port (which is right next to the HDMI port on the PS3), but this is not the case. Needless to say, the picture quality is great.

  5. After buying this adapter I realized I should have just bought an DVI to HDMI cord. The adpater works and feels pretty solid but I have had issues using it in the back of a few TVs. When attached to a DVI cord it is just a little long. I did find it very useful connecting an XBOX 360 to my monitor but I had to take apart the XBOX's component connector in order to make both fit. (I needed it for the audio)

  1. I have a TV inside and a satellite dish outside. I needed a cable that could be flattened to fit through my patio door. This item is perfect. My patio door can still close and my cable doesn't get bent.

  2. This tiny cable extension works great especially for condominium buildings where satellite dishes are not allowed to be attached to the structure and no holes can be made on the walls for the cables. It works well even on hurricane proof sliding doors in a high rise in Miami.

5 comments about Philips SHE9500 Ultra Sound In Ear Headphones.
  1. I just picked up there headphone at BB for than listed here. I bought them because the rubber around the original earbuds for my iPod were starting to have the rubber peal away making them feel uncomfortable and was just overall annoying. I was looking for something in the $20-$30 dollar range and locally these fit the bill nicely.

    Pros :
    - Sound quality (really really good!)
    - Way better than standard iPod earbuds
    - Affordable

    Cons :
    - Not great for exercise
    - Questionable durability
    - Annoying cable length

First let me talk about the design. Upon opening I immediately thought that the asymmetric wire length was going to be ... different, and the overall durability was questionable. The asymmetric length wire does bother me a bit, I simply have to use the extension cord (supplied) to have my iPod in my pocket, and since I am mostly using these at work I do not notice any discomfort from it outside of the inconvenience of having extra wire. I have noticed that the "proper" way to wear these is to wrap the right (longer) wire around the back of your neck, this relieves a lot of the stress people are complaining about on your left ear due to the asymmetry. Although, now I have the problem where the right bud pulls when I turn my head to the left ... so yeah, not a great design.

Now onto sound quality. The sound quality of these headphones is great, they completely blow the iPod headphones out of the water in every regard. The complaints that others are making about the quality, I think, is largely due to the fact that they are not placed correctly, or the music is not equalized correctly. My "configuration" consists of the earphones being snugly inserted into my ear canal (not to the point of discomfort) and my equalizer flat-lined allowing for the earphones to heard they way they were designed. In the last 30 minutes I have listened to the Cowboy Bebop OST (jazz, big band, blues), Audioslave, Crystal Method, Rage Against the Machine, and the BSG OST, and have had absolutely no distortion and have been pleasantly surprised how clear these headphones are.

My recommendation is that if you are just using these for walking around, sitting at a desk, traveling, and have a budget of <$40 then you are going to be very happy with these. If you are, on the other hand, looking for a pair of headphones that you can use to exercise and be active in, then you are going to be better off getting a pair of headphones with a 'Y' configuration or have wrap-arounds.

  2. I have no complaints about the sound for the price but the wiring aggravates me. It's rubberized and, when you're moving around, it loves to grab onto clothing enough to pull one or 2 out of your ears. As long as you're not moving it's fine, but if you're doing anything physical you'll have problems.

And if these get tangled at all have fun. The stickiness of those rubber wires make an already aggravating task of untangling even worse.

I also don't understand the point of having the extra link in the middle. Completely useless and unnecessary.

  3. The Philips SHE9500 plays loud booming sound when I'm sitting at my desk, but I bought them to jog with, and they fail at that purpose. The asymmetric-cable-behind-the-neck thing is a disaster for me when jogging. Any attempt to turn my head to the left causes the ear bud to pop out, since the cable sticks too easily to the back of my neck or shirt. Plus in my opinion, the extender cable is a pain--it's too short without it, but when connected, it causes a weight on the cable itself, which means any swing of the connector during movement will put tension of the earbuds. And surpise, they pop out. Still, the sound is very good, and songs recorded as lesser volume are easy to hear.

  4. These are fantastic earphones. Beautiful sound, extremely comfortable in-ear seal, and overall excellent-quality construction. So why am I giving this three stars instead of five? Because some idiot at Phillips' R&D department came up with the idea of an asymmetrical cable system. In other words, the right hand cord is ten inches longer than the left hand cord. This is supposed to make the cables easier to manage (after all, your iPod is only on one side of your body), but it ends up making the left earbud slip out of your ear constantly. This is not a problem if you are sitting or lying down, but if you are jogging, walking, lifting weights, biking (basically moving at all), then you are reaching down to re-insert your earpiece every half minute.
These are great earphones for the person who sits still 24-7, but for the active person (which applies to almost everyone), the asymmetrical cable design is a major design flaw and a huge annoyance. So here's your choice: superior sound and terrible cable design, or slightly inferior sound and the cable design that has worked perfectly for decades: symmetrical.

  5. The product works great (sound, feel in ear, etc). I bought them for use at work and on the motorcycle. For the bike, the tension on the wire bothers my ear after about 30 minutes, but in the office they are outstanding.

  1. This little wonder will enable you to take your favorite tunes on the road. I bought one for my mother. Her car radio has an audio input jack. She simply plugs one end into the radio and the other into the iPod nano - and voilĂ  - music. Don't be fooled by others selling this product for 2x-10x the price: it's just a simple cord.

  1. I wanted a converter to use my normal headset with the customised jack of my cordless phone and this guy solved that in a snap... i am satisfie with it.

  2. I purchased this product hoping to use my headphones and other devices with my phone's MP3 player. The adapter failed miserably. I could not hear from both the right and left headphone speakers at the same time. The most confusing problem occurred when I plugged in my headphones into the phone with the adapter. My phone began to either redial or open a function. This adapter is not meant as a solution for the LG's new Chocolate phones.

  3. This adapter worked as expected and allowed me to use regular headphones, as opposed to cell-phone headphones, on my mp3 player. The only issue for me is keeping track of the little thing!

  4. for some reason, probably the phone circuits themselves, only monoaural support when connected to a stereo headset. May not be the fault of the product. Tried on Samsung 1760 and LG chocolate

  5. I bought this in order to plug standard earbuds into a Palm Treo 700W smartphone, and it works great. I load music onto an SD card using Windows Media Player, and this adapter lets me plug a pair of Griffin Earthumps in and get at least 6 hours of MP3 player functionality. If you have a Treo, buy this and the Earthumps through Amazon, and you have a portable MP3 player to travel with, including the phones, the adapter, and a nice pouch to hold them, for about $10.00. Don't be fooled by the low price on the Griffin buds either - they work great for $25 (what I paid at the airport) so I'm sure they sound even better when you only pay $6.49 through Amazon!

  1. I used it to connect a G4 with a G5 mac, and quickly transferred my files in target mode. It is long enough for my purposes.

  2. It's a firewire cable that is long, not too expensive, and works perfectly. Highly recommended.

  3. I needed a long firewire cable for a Presonus FireStudio Project Interface. This fit the bill. Works well, no problems.

  4. Got what I ordered fast and cheap, but I think I was asleep when I ordered because I wanted a long usb cable! Five stars for great service. Will use it down the road when I upgrade.

5 comments about Archos Battery Docking Adapter for 405, 605, and 705 Players.
  1. Been an owner of a 650WiFi now for at least six months now, and take it pretty much everywhere I go. It allows me to take my pictures, music and videos with me. And now this little gem allows me to share my media with friends even more via TV connectors (standard RCA connectors you know, yellow (video), red (audio right), white(audio left).

The output of the Archos to the TV is great, displays and plays everything on your Archos to the TV. And while it plays, it charges your battery on your Archos and itself (since its an external battery to the 605 Wifi).

Now yes it is awkward when holding it since the dock is not streamlined to the Archos, and your Archos cases will not accommodate it. This is good for traveling long distances, and if you want to display your Archos goods to a large crowd.

I highly recommend getting this for your Archos its worth it.

Don't have an Archos yet? Still trapped in iPod land?... get an Archos
    you'll be much happier!

  2. Archos battery supposed to assist in (my understanding when I purchased it),

    1. Make the Archos player's battery last longer
    2. Gives ability to power from the wall charger
    3. Gives rapid charge capability (compared to USB charging)
    4. Additional capabilities (e.g. TV out, USB Host...and such)

Works but very flimsy and flaky. Poorly made (feels like home made) and most importantly, not sure it even works. Did not meet any of my test after purchasing it. Only reason to keep it is because I have no other choice in getting a USB host beside this little flaky add-on. :(

  3. The battery docking system works fine, there's nothing more to talk about it. But if you are buying this together with a new Archos PMP unit, I suggest you to buy something else.

I bought a Archos PMP over a month ago. The PMP crashed on the 2nd day, and I had to reset it and reload the firmware. It lost all of my music, video files I had put in it. After getting help from Archos fun forum, I fixed problem, and I learned that the "system error" happens to a lot of people.

Now my PMP is working, but everytime after I turn the power completely off and turn it back on, the white "system error" screen comes back. Luckily, after I press "no" to "system repair, reset" 4 times, the unit starts running fine. I have lost my files two more times since then.

The Archos is really cool WHEN it works, and it is packed with gadgets and function. You should get it only if you know enough about the computer and electronics so you can fix it when it crashes.

  4. After about 2 or 3 weeks. It will still charge the Archos while plugged into the wall, but after unpluging the dock from the wall, the charge is gone and it just acts like an extra base that wont add extra power to the archos.

  5. Dont buy or you will regret! this is a defective item and should be recalled by Archos. The battery hold less than 20 mins no matter how long you charge. I replaced twice (thank Amazon to allow me to do that), same problem occurred. the docking station did not hold charge for more than 20 mins. "Made in China" products are always unreliable. Good luck!
