4 comments about Sony BD-RE Rewritable Single Layer Disc - 25gb, 2X.
- I just bought a Sony 1080i camcorder to video my nephew's wedding and used a new Sony Vaio computer with Blu ray read write capability.
I was able to make discs but nobody has Blu Ray players to watch it.
I'm glad it worked and know when BLu/Ray DV become standard it will be fun to see this event which otherwise couldn't be made into Hi Def standard.
- I have been using these now (bought 3) for a few weeks for recording movies, watching them, then erasing and start over with new movies. Working fine, but it seems like the disks are more suseptable to finger marks than others, I could be wrong here, but it seems that way to me. I have not had any problem, however, and am just making an observation.
- I returned, bought with a vaio with Blu-Ray recorder, the computer was too limited for this kind of recording
- I use the BD-RE to make a test burn for HD Home Video prior to committing to a final copy on BD-R. This has saved me from wasting a BD-R and then finding out later that I needed to re-edit and make some changes.

5 comments about M-Audio USB Midisport Uno MIDI Interface.
- If you use Windows Vista or plan on switching to Vista, your M-Audio equipment isn't going to work the way it did in XP.
M-Audio has a Vista driver for the USB Uno but it doesn't always work. Initially, after I installed the Vista driver that I downloaded from M-Audio's support page, everything seemed to work fine. But after a few hours of working in Reason 4.0, I noticed that the sounds weren't quite right. Everything that I was playing through my keyboard, which was connected via the USB Uno, sounded like poor quality samples. At first I thought it was my soundcard (M-Audio Fast Track USB. I wrote a review for that as well) but I played a drum pattern in ReDrum without my keyboard and everything sounded normal. I then tested the USB Uno with another MIDI controller and got the same results, low quality sounds. After uninstalling and reinstalling the USB Uno driver a couple of times, the sounds triggered by my keyboard seemed to be working okay again. When I decided to use it again later that week, the same sound issue reemerged. Personally, I will not be purchasing anymore M-Audio products due to their poor Vista drivers.
- I used this cable to program a midi board with a sysex command. It worked, no problems, but the cable is flimsy and I don't see using it for an extended period of time. It's cheaply made and seems it will break after a few uses.
- I was given this, along with an old QuickShot MIDI keyboard controller. I bought a Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 5-Port PCI Card and got updated Midisport drivers for my Mac G4 (OS 10.4.11) from M-Audio's website. I use this setup to access the sounds in GarageBand and play around with MIDI. Everything works fine. But, admittedly, this is not much of a test of the Interface, since the controller has only a MIDI out.
- M-Audio has an awesome product here. Realize that I am using it on a Mac and with a Yamaha keyboard. I checked other reviews before buying this and the Mac and Yamaha combo was reportedly great. I now agree! My daughter is thrilled and I know we will have days, months, maybe years of fun using this.
-
I actually got this to work with my Yamaha P-80, but I paid dearly for it.
I'm running Windows XP and during the driver installation, I got the "...has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatability with Windows XP" message.
OK, the next paragraph was really scary - "Continuing your installation of this software may impair or destabalize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo testing."
M-Audio's user guide ACTUALLY INSTRUCTS you to click the "Continue Anyway" button, so instead of stopping the install and returning this item for a refund, I trusted them and continued the install (you actually get warned twice not to install). BIG MISTAKE!
After the install, I found out my Email and Internet services were not working. Somehow, the Midisport installation managed to turn off my Broadcom network adapter, and if I hadn't had the help of AT&T tech support, I would have concluded that I had a hardware problem with my Ethernet connection. Don't know yet if anything else got messed up.
As an added bonus, there's also a warning sticker hidden inside the package advising you, for reasons I won't even get into, to wash your hands after handling the product. I am not making this up.
I have never had this type of problem installing a USB device, and I have about 6 of them.
Avoid, unless you can take the risk.

5 comments about Cables To Go - 13400 - 3M (9.8ft) USB 2.0 A/B Cable (White).
- A simple product that does just whats necessary, it connected to my computer and printer and transfers data perfectly. Its quick and needs nothing special.
- They are USB cables and they are 10ft long and they work properly for my printer. What more do you want. This isn't a sexy product. They do what they are supposed to do just fine.
- First cable sent didn't work at all. The computer wouldn't connect to the printer. Replacement one has frequent connection drops, disturbing printing and is more or less unusable.
- These have worked just fine connecting printers to PC's. Cheapest price anywhere when I bought them from Cables to Go via Amazon.

The pictured used to promote the product (and even the one in the e-mail from Amazon) was incorrect, therefore I either ordered or they sent me the wrong tool for the job.
The item you see to the right was the one promoted and the one I wanted. I got one with two flat connectors instead. It was totally wrong! Be careful when ordering from picture representations from this company.

4 comments about RCA Extension Cord 10 ft..
- I bought a pair of these for my Logitech Z-2200 2.1 computer speaker system so that I can place the speakers wherever I want to, and it was one of the best things I've ever done! Now I can move the subwoofer (which houses the amp that the speakers are connected to) back against my wall, and have the speakers next to my Monitor which is facing the wall since I sit facing AWAY from the wall.
BTW, partsexpress dot com is an excellent Internet retailer, and their prices are actually competitive with many eBay sellers.
- I ordered 6 of these yesterday...YESTERDAY! And they already came today. Once again Amazon is amazing (actually this ships from Parts Express, but close enough).
I hooked these up to my $50 logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker system and they work great. I hooked up 4 in a row to one speaker and did several tests by ear, and honestly I can not tell a difference at all. They may be a generic brand but for cheaper sound systems it doesn't matter. Only when you start spending over $250 will you ever need to get better sound cables, and even than you may only get about a 20% sound increase for a $50 cable (I've had this happen before).
Remember though that if your figuring to wall mount speakers your going to need more cord length than you think. In my case I should have ordered a couple more cords. I only factored in the length through the ceiling and forgot to factor in the cord coming from back of the receiver (which happens to be the subwoofer) and going up to the ceiling.
The only negative thing I can think of is that they might pull apart from eachother a little easily if they are in the ceiling and someone yanks on one side a bit. For that reason once I connect mine I'll probably glue them in place.
Overall, You can't beat the price. Best Buy's cheapest is $16 for a 12' cord!
- I needed this to get sound from my laptop to the rca jack on the TV
- It does the extension job as advertised and can carry high quality sound signals eg. as part of your home theatre sound. No complaints.

5 comments about Philips SHS5200 Reflective Neckband Headphones.
- I had heard such high praises for these headphones that I made sure I was getting the exact model everyone said was so great. While they physically WORK as headphones, there are a a lot of cons to having these that it really may not be for your usage.
I bought these to wear to walk to and from the bus stop/work while listening to music/podcasts, and while they physically worked, they block minimal sound resulting in having to turn up the volume much louder than you normally would. The 'reflective' part doesn't really do much, so don't depend on it in low-light situations. Plus any amount of sweating/moisture makes the 'reflective' material begin to flake off within a month or two. These headphones also keep moisture longer than most headphones I have previously used.
Pros:
*Bass sounds very nice in most music
*Wrap around/neckband fits well on ears/head
*Plug fits well in pretty much any device without plastic plug blocking the port(including iPod/iPod Touch and Pioneer XM Inno)
*Fabric-like cord to help stop snagging and has spring-like function in headphones to help stop ripping the cord if caught
Cons:
*Holds in Moisture much longer than most headphones in both band and ear pieces
*'Reflective' material does not really work well and flakes off after a couple month's use, making the headphones look very ratty and used, leaving a sticky surface
*Headphones arrived with the cardboard back not secured correctly to the package
*Due to very stiff, large neckband, very hard to store
Overall if you are looking to get a pair of headphones at a good price and can listen in a quiet area, this pair could work for you. If you are looking to do any kind of activity or your surroundings are not quiet, I would suggest passing on these. Not for any kind of activity that could result in sweat.
- The sound quality of the headphones are exactly what you would expect and somewhat better for the price. If you keep them on for too long during a session they become uncomfortable. Be sure to take them off when you don't need them. Other than that, they're a good set for the price and they look nice too.
- These headphones sound amazing for the price. The bass and treble are outstanding when hooked up to my Zune, better than the high-quality ear buds that came with the Zune.
I've used them daily in the gym for a few months and they are still going strong. Also the cord protection dealie works great! I got the cord caught on something which would have normally ripped it out of the headphone, but they were 100% fine.
They're great for working out, riding a bike, jogging or just plain old headphone use.
They are comfortable and can most likely accomdate most head sizes (I have an average size head and there is a little room left between my neck and the band, but this does not detract from the comfort).
I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone who appreciates the sound of good music.
- Likes:
-great price, purchased at target for 14.99
-comfortable fit, man's head
-rugged and sturdy build with reinforced cord
-great sound, highs and lows
-allows minimal outside noise for safety
My only complaints are:
-the super long cord, 59"
-the stitching point of the reflective band points downward which digs into my neck, they should have stitched it pointing upwards so the smooth part rests on the neck.
Overall, a good set of running headphones. Great alternative to earbuds which often times hurt the inside of your ears after mile 3.
- I have owned these for about two months and I really like them. When purchasing, I was scared about some of the bad reviews I read here, but I am glad I made this choice.
I use them for running (mainly outside) and I am glad they don't block 100% of the outside noisy. When running I should be aware, at least a little, of what's going on around me. If you are looking for noise-reduction headphones...exactly, that's what you should buy.
They fit really well. The person that says that they keep falling doesn't know how to wear them. If you wear the headphones over your earlobes they will never fall.
I really like the material used for the cord. It seems very durable and that's the place where I break most of my earphones.
The only con I find is that they get too moist after exercising, but probably I sweat too much.

5 comments about Large External HD Case Black.
- Well, when this thing says it's a case, it ain't lyin'. It happens to be the perfect size to fit my hard drive, my microphone, my MP3 recorder, and my mic pre-amp. It certainly performs all it's case-like duties with style and grace. I don't know anyone who actually owns a hard drive the size of this thing, if you're looking to carry just a drive I would suggest one of the smaller cases. But, as far as cases go, this one is damn casealicious.
- Finally someone makes a portable case for all those external drives. Fits my Seagate FreeAgent and my HP external burner. Not in the same case though. I bought 3 of them.
- I needed a bag for my portable drive and this product fit the bill perfectly. A place for everything including cables and disks. I will definitely be checking Case Logic whenever I need storage or travel containers. Excellent quality and price.
- I use the case for my portable hard drive and works great holds all of the items that came with the hard drive nicely.
- Probably larger than I needed. This will hold one of the older Seagate eSATA drivers, and two slim external shell cases. The cable pocket has plenty of room for the power adapters and interface cables. Haven't made excessive use of it yet, but it seems very sturdy and has good quality metal zippers.

5 comments about Stereo Headset with Built-in Microphone and Click / Hold Button for Apple iPhone - Ear Cusions Included (White).
- These work fine for me. They are decent headphones; not the best range but OK for the price. No one has had any problem hearing me when I call them and the hold button works well. When my original pair where destroyed by my dog, I really didn't want to spend $50 on a new set.
PROS: They work and they are inexpensive.
CONS: Sound quality is only decent.
I would purchase these again.
- Compared to the headphones that came with the iPhone, this headset is more comfortable, easier to "click," has much better sound, does NOT get progressively more quiet as time goes on and looks better.
- It looks cool with white and the price is reasonably competitve. I used them mainly for picking up calls and it delivers well. Timely shipping and would get another pair if it's broken.
- This is a great buy for this price. It performs as the value and dont expect it has awesome sound quality. But I am satisfy with it and looking something like this. Great!
- I have bought a fair share of third party headphones for my iPhone, trying to look for the best ones without spending a lot of money for a fancy one. In my search to find that one particular product, this ended up being the best one available. For its price, you can't lose either. In fact, I'd venture to say it's a better quality build than the more expensive ones that are available (especially the ones I bought). The quality of sound is fantastic when compared to other iPhone headsets if you're range of spending money is strictly below $20. It's a good pair of jogging headphones too, especially if you have a problem keeping them in your ear, and they do wonders when you just want to dilute outside noise.
I don't want to bore you with all my praise for a product that costs only $5.99, but it gives you more than what you pay for and is a great deal you shouldn't pass on.

5 comments about Altec Lansing iM9 inMotion Mobile Speaker Dock for iPod (Black).
- I have one of my own and purchased another for my daughter. Has a wonderful clear sound. Is a great product!
- The sound quality on this Ipod player is decent. The bass is a little flat but it's hard to expect more from something so small. The portability is great. Plugs into the wall to charge, uses C batteries when you can't plug in. Ruggedly built. Seems like it can hold up to some abuse.
Overall, for the price it's not bad. I'm happy with it.
- The im9 sound great, and to my benefit, is extremely light. I recently took it on a river trip, and it performed admirably for three days on the same batteries. The only drawback, for me, is the fact that the Nano adapter does not fit my 2nd gen. Makes me wonder if a first gen would even fit, or if Altec Lansing just went 'whatever' when they made the thing. I tried to get them to replace it, but they said they'd send a "replacement", leading me to believe it would be the same as the one in the box. Their customer service definitely leaves something to be desired. That said, I give it 4 stars, all for the sound quality.
- I bought this a year ago to go with my 60gb classic. Incredible sound even if it is a little bass-heavy. I just upgraded to a Touch 2G and I was very happy with how it fit in the IM9 without any dock adapter. The problem is that it won't charge the Touch! It says "Charging is not supported with this accessory." Bummer, because the Pandora app sounds incredible on the IM9. It's like having satellite radio without the fees.
- Despite it's small size, the unit puts out very good sound and the sound quality is above average. It's versatility is excellent, using either batteries or plugging into an outlet. It would be great on the beach, patio, RVs, etc. I was very pleased with this system on my patio, and decided not to install outdoor speakers once I heard the music this system provided. It comes with a nice carrying case which is an added bonus. One small nit, the bracket that allows the system to stand upright is a little piece of plastic that pulls out from the base; it appears fragile, but so far so good. I recommend this system for anyone desiring a small, easy to carry system that puts out big sound for it's size. I did not experience any buzzing or hum cited in other reviews.

5 comments about Skullcandy Hesh Headphones Black/Red.
- Has anyone tried bose headphones, or even heard about them? I have them, and the quality is immense. But this review is not about bose is it? I have tried many skullcandy's and not all of them are perfect. But lemme tell you, these are. Firstly the sound. As i said before it has the amazing rich, strong, clear sound of my bose's, but it also gets x10 louder, and has even better bass and clarity. I listened to Hawthorne Heights 'Ohio is for lovers' to test it out. I play it, and the guitars sound amazingly clear and the bass sounded amazing. I switched it to Linkin Parks 'A Place For My Head', and I couldn't believe all the noises I was missing with my iPod Headphones, and the guitars tone sounded so realistic, I couldn't believe it. The best part is the $45 price tag, compared to some of the popular brands with their $140 headphones, like my boses. Also, the comfort and design amazed me. On the site i thought that the Zebra Pattern (I got the red and black ones) would be ugly, but it matches perfectly, and doesn't 'Stick Out' At all. PLUS THE HEADPHONES FEEL GREAT ON MY HEAD. The silky travel bags a plus too haha. Last but not least, the warranty. Any defects you get the product back free. Any damage caused by ANYTHING, ex. running your skullcandys over with a hummer, will get you %50 off anything in their online store which can cost over $200 at the most i think. This is the best buy I have made in the last two years AT LEAST. Buy this product now if you need headphones. There is no way you can find a better choice!
- Note: I own the Metallica Death Magnetic version.
BUYER BEWARE. This piece of junk is NOT sound canceling, and it can clearly be hear by other people in the room. The quality is below average compared to buds, and rest on the ears weirdly. The "amazing bass quality" that people rave about is sub par. Do not buy, go sony instead.
- hey, this is my moms account, and i am her son. I just recieved my skullcandy hesh literally 10 minutes ago. i gotta say, right out of the box these things are great, the bass pumps through your head and i swear i didn't know some of my songs had inter-symbol parts in them untill i listened with these. as i am wearing them now with NO MUSIC i can barely hear myself typing, these are great noise canceling headphones and they go all the way around my ear.
this kick the crap out of earbuds and i suggest them to all.
peace.
- I just received these headphones like literally 20 minutes ago. and first impressions are great, I love them! i plugged them in and ofcourse the sound was good. on some songs it was less than amazing but thats because the quality of the mp3 isnt that good. Man they look hot thought, they are like the best looking headphones i have ever seen. i have some bose headphones also and i already like these better. i would and probably will recommend them to many people. GO AND BUY THESE HEADPHONES!!!
- Bought this as a gift for my younger brother. Reasonably priced. He really enjoys them. I really liked the colors/fabric of the headphones.
