5 comments about Stereo Headset with Built-in Microphone and Click / Hold Button for Apple iPhone - Ear Cusions Included (White).
  1. These work fine for me. They are decent headphones; not the best range but OK for the price. No one has had any problem hearing me when I call them and the hold button works well. When my original pair where destroyed by my dog, I really didn't want to spend $50 on a new set.

PROS: They work and they are inexpensive.

CONS: Sound quality is only decent.

    I would purchase these again.

  2. Compared to the headphones that came with the iPhone, this headset is more comfortable, easier to "click," has much better sound, does NOT get progressively more quiet as time goes on and looks better.

  3. It looks cool with white and the price is reasonably competitve. I used them mainly for picking up calls and it delivers well. Timely shipping and would get another pair if it's broken.

  4. This is a great buy for this price. It performs as the value and dont expect it has awesome sound quality. But I am satisfy with it and looking something like this. Great!

  5. I have bought a fair share of third party headphones for my iPhone, trying to look for the best ones without spending a lot of money for a fancy one. In my search to find that one particular product, this ended up being the best one available. For its price, you can't lose either. In fact, I'd venture to say it's a better quality build than the more expensive ones that are available (especially the ones I bought). The quality of sound is fantastic when compared to other iPhone headsets if you're range of spending money is strictly below $20. It's a good pair of jogging headphones too, especially if you have a problem keeping them in your ear, and they do wonders when you just want to dilute outside noise.

I don't want to bore you with all my praise for a product that costs only $5.99, but it gives you more than what you pay for and is a great deal you shouldn't pass on.

5 comments about Altec Lansing iM9 inMotion Mobile Speaker Dock for iPod (Black).
  1. I have one of my own and purchased another for my daughter. Has a wonderful clear sound. Is a great product!

  2. The sound quality on this Ipod player is decent. The bass is a little flat but it's hard to expect more from something so small. The portability is great. Plugs into the wall to charge, uses C batteries when you can't plug in. Ruggedly built. Seems like it can hold up to some abuse.

Overall, for the price it's not bad. I'm happy with it.

  3. The im9 sound great, and to my benefit, is extremely light. I recently took it on a river trip, and it performed admirably for three days on the same batteries. The only drawback, for me, is the fact that the Nano adapter does not fit my 2nd gen. Makes me wonder if a first gen would even fit, or if Altec Lansing just went 'whatever' when they made the thing. I tried to get them to replace it, but they said they'd send a "replacement", leading me to believe it would be the same as the one in the box. Their customer service definitely leaves something to be desired. That said, I give it 4 stars, all for the sound quality.

  4. I bought this a year ago to go with my 60gb classic. Incredible sound even if it is a little bass-heavy. I just upgraded to a Touch 2G and I was very happy with how it fit in the IM9 without any dock adapter. The problem is that it won't charge the Touch! It says "Charging is not supported with this accessory." Bummer, because the Pandora app sounds incredible on the IM9. It's like having satellite radio without the fees.

  5. Despite it's small size, the unit puts out very good sound and the sound quality is above average. It's versatility is excellent, using either batteries or plugging into an outlet. It would be great on the beach, patio, RVs, etc. I was very pleased with this system on my patio, and decided not to install outdoor speakers once I heard the music this system provided. It comes with a nice carrying case which is an added bonus. One small nit, the bracket that allows the system to stand upright is a little piece of plastic that pulls out from the base; it appears fragile, but so far so good. I recommend this system for anyone desiring a small, easy to carry system that puts out big sound for it's size. I did not experience any buzzing or hum cited in other reviews.

5 comments about AV Cable [GENESIS2].
  1. This is a great piece of hard ware BUT, it is mono. When the Genesis 3 was released by majesco is came with a mono cable, but the original was stereo. I think that the best thing to do is get the stereo one for the Gen 2 and use that. It is much better to have stereo especially since most technology is now stereo.

  2. There's not much to say other than this is for the Genesis2, not the Genesis1. Otherwise the cable works as is intended.

  3. This cord does exactly what I wanted it to do-attatch my Sega Genesis (version/generation 2, I think) to my TV, without the annoying screw-in wires. I've had no problems with the cord and it works fine.

  4. received item in new condition, works great. having fun playing my old sega now ;)

  5. Why choose this cable over any other for your Sega Genesis? It's better than using standard RF! Anyone who has used this audio video cable can see right away that it offers improved graphics and sound if your TV (or VCR) has video input jacks. RF cables for video game systems have never worked well for me and I have personally sought to convert to RCA style or S-Video cabling whenever possible. This cable in particular will provide crisp, clear graphics and clearer stereo sound from your Sega Genesis. Is it truly stereo? Well, that probably isn't so, but there is a marked improvement over mono sound AV cables that I have used and this difference is probably only true if you have a quality sound system (I use a modest Technics with amp and eq). There is no comparison to the crappy RF cable that I've found to kill a lot of midrange sounds or shadow them entirely.

I would also point out that if you are an occassional gamer, who only plays on a weekend or once a month and you like to store your system between usage, this cable sets the system up much easier. If you want to just plug and play, then this is the way to go. I find that RF cables require screwing on this or that, wiggling the cable, shaking the box, doing a dance and jig to get it to work. With the AV cable for Genesis 2, you just plug it in. This is especially handy if you have AV jacks on the front side of your TV or VCR. Setup in such a case is about a minute.

    Please note:
THESE STEREO AV AUDIO VIDEO CABLES FOR THE SEGA GENESIS ARE ONLY FOR SYSTEMS 2 OR 3 BUT NOT THE FIRST SYSTEM MODELS # 1601,1602 OR 1603.

To my knowledge there is no AV cable for the first system. If you do not have a system 2 or 3, I strongly encourage you to upgrade to one of those systems, not just to use these great cables, but to treat yourself to a much better product.

  2. I had such a hard time finding a lanyard for my daughter's portable game system! I could not find one anywhere. Well, this one is perfect. It prevents her from dropping that expensive game system. It is made very well. Good quality. Great buy.

  3. I bought this lanyard for my mp3 player and it is just the right size. Not to mention the price is great!! This was the lowest priced item out of the numerous items I looked at.

  4. The only thing I can really say that stood out for me when I pulled this out of the package was the fact that it's a little bulky. The reason I got it was because the one that came with my Sansa E260 was this tiny little rubberized cord looking thing that just looked like it was begging to cut into my neck. My original Sansa player had a lanyard that came from a cheap RCA MP3 player, but unfortunately that... mysteriously disappeared. It's a decent enough neckstrap, but just not for me.

  5. I looked around the local stores but could not find a decent lanyard for my USB drive. This strap is comfortable, easy to use and is of very quality. Definitely recommend.

5 comments about Speck 13" MacBook-Compatible See-Thru Hard Case, Aqua.
  1. I bought my macbook a little over a year ago. I immediately purchased the case to protect it and it seemed like a great idea at first. It does however create internal scratching on its own and bumpy rough scratches end up appearing on the cover. If you're willing to remove the case ever so often and wipe it down, maybe it would keep it looking better. Plus, removing the case is such a frustrating process. I always feel like i'm walking on eggshells. unless you're a neat freak and could handle the pressure while opening it don't get it.

  2. It will protect the exterior from scratches and perhaps from some minor trauma, don't think that it will protect it from a fall.... additionally, you should buy a keyboard and/or screen cover to protect the functional components of the computer.

  3. It does exactly what you want it do, it protects your macbook from scratches and etc. I hear people talking about how it scratches their macbook, and I have to disagree. It hasn't hurt mine at all, and it has protected it from getting some pretty bad scrapes. I think half of the issue, is people do not know how to remove their case. You have to be really really careful with it.

  4. Overall a great tool to keep your MacBook from getting scratched. I love the color options because it makes my Book unique. My only problem is making sure that it is secured in every corner.

  5. I got my brand new white macbook and I wanted it to be protected from wear and tear. I bought the Speck case, thinking it would help protect my laptop, but it definitely did a lot more damage than protection.
Before buying, I thought it was expensive, but figured it was worth it. I was SO wrong! This case is a piece of junk. Like other users, the rubber feet fell off, which left nasty sticky stuff on the plastic which accumulated dust, hair, and dirt. Disgusting. Also, the dirt that got between the case and my laptop scratched it up. When I first put the case on, I thought it looked cool. It scratches so easily that now I just want to rip the thing off, which is nearly impossible. So far, I've only been able to get the bottom off, and I'm scared I will hurt my computer trying to get the top off. This product is a complete rip-off; it was probably made in some foreign country and is worth a couple bucks, though it is sold for nearly $50.
Take my advice: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

5 comments about Sony RM-V310 Universal Remote Control.
  1. I have had a number of multi-brand remotes, some even cheaper than this one, and this is the worst. It suggests it can do much more than it can. Not only can it not program my VCR, it would not even allow me to change channels by entering the channel number. I had to go through each one. Control of my audio components was horrible. It would do some things, but not other more important ones. I tried all suggested codes for my devices, and went through the instructions exhaustively, but nothing helped. Also, there is no backlighting. This may work OK for some brands, but not for my major brand components. The only thing it worked well for was its own brand, Sony. You can do much better with practically any other cheap remote.

  2. I purchased this remote to replace my lost Sony DVD remote control and to consolidate all my remote controls to one. It works with my DVD player and Sharp TV. I thought I could use it for my Direct TV/TIVO satellite receiver/DVR combo. There was no code available for any satellite receiver/DVR combo. I still have to use 2 remote controls. Had I known, I would not have purchased this remote.

  3. If you are using a Comcast cable box, forget this product. It doesn't work.

  4. I have all name brand electronics... all of which were listed in the code number listing for this remote. Panasonic plasma TV, Panasonic audio receiver, Philips DVD Player, and Scientific Atlanta digital cable box. This remote wouldn't operate a single function on ANY of them. Wouldn't even power them on/off. Before you go assuming I just don't know what I'm doing, I've programmed several such remotes, and done extensive work with home, car, and office electronics. I ended up getting a philips remote for much less that controlled all of them with no problem at all.

  5. My biggest complaint is the twinview button. It will get me into that mode, but there is no button to switch it off!!! I tried turning off the tv to get rid of twinview, nope. I tried going into the menu and looked for a reset function, nope. Maybe if I unplugged it and let it sit for awhile? Luckily I have the original remote, otherwise there doesn't seem to be a way to switch it off the twinview without it.

Sony's implementation is terrible. They could have made a twinview on/off toggle button rather than having a dedicated off button on the original remote. This would have save them the cost of needing a dedicated "off" button---Actually, it might be a "regular view" button---well, they did save the cost of not having it on this remote and screwing those of us that need this button.

So,my best option is to get a remote that has a learning/programable feature so that I can waste a button to make a dedicated button to button off the twinview button.

5 comments about Monster Cable QL GMT-H QuickLock Gold Banana Connectors (2 Pair).
  1. OK, so I don't buy into all the hype about connectors or cables having an audible effect on sound quality. A good connection is a good connection, period. So why am I raving about these plugs? Simple. Because they have a rock-solid, elegant and simple design. I have tried a lot of different banana plugs, and usually they feel flimsy and tend to work themselves loose, or make finicky and insecure connections.

I am constantly tinkering with things and modifying poorly-engineered products to work better, but I cannot really think of any way to improve these little tanks. Hold them in your hand: They are satisfyingly heavy and rugged. Terminate a speaker cable with them and see who easy it is; just strip the cable end and screw them on by hand; no tools needed beyond a wire cutter and stripper; not even a screwdriver.

Tighten the nut down and admire how solid and fool-proof the resulting connection is. Plug them into your speakers or amp and appreciate how easy it is to see the polarity, and how satisfyingly the springy tips seat home in the sockets.

They pull out just as smoothly, too: Not too tight or too loose. The cables drape naturally out of their ends, and the plugs aren't too deep for tight spaces. The gnurled rubber grips are easy to grab and move, too.

And the price isn't even that bad, compared to the absurd prices of most good connectors. So yeah, these do the job. And that's the best praise I can give.

  2. First, while these are a Monster product they don't have the Monster price. They're the same price you'll find for connectors from companies you've never heard of - but you aren't sacrificing Monster quality.
That said, these are terrific. Very easy to install. Simply strip about 1/2 inch of twisted wire, insert, screw the top in place. I used them for both 12 and 14 gauge speaker wire with no problem at all.
I paid 19.97 here which is the same price that BestBuy sells them for in their store so there's no great savings on price. But, free shipping and no sales tax for me so I saved a few dollars and I wasn't in a hurry.

  3. They give a nice finish to the cable termination. Only complaint i have with them is it's good if there's a way to they could hold the cable.

Rightnow, if the cables are moved they would come out of the connector.

  4. When I stareted looking for some mid-to-high end audio components (speakers, wire, etc.) I quickly became overwhelmed with the many variations available from Monster and other vendors. I asked myself, "What is the real difference between one item and another, very similar one?"

After much research and actually trying different products, I can report that the differences are subtle and mostly subjective within a similar price range.

Obviously there is a difference between high-end speakers and wires, and smaller, cheaper speakers using lamp wire or thin speaker wire. But even then, you may not notice much difference until you really listen for the high and low notes, the quality of a singer's voice or a solo instrument, or the resonance of the bass notes.

What you give yourself in terms of quality can really only be justified by your budget, beliefs, and preferences. Don't be misled by thinking that all the expensive stuff is just hype - it does make a difference! But the difference won't change your life, it will only make you feel good if you invest and believe you're getting quality for your money. Here's my point: bottom line, the technology takes SECOND PLACE within a similar price range or product line. The most important factor is how you feel when you listen to your music. If you feel cheated or swindled, or that you bought something you didn't need, then the music will always sound that way to you. But if you believe you bought the best quality you could afford, and that it's purpose is to serve your music tastes and enjoyment, then the sounds you hear will have that quality. There is no magic technology, no Star Trek in real life; there is just belief, dollars, common sense, and choosing to be satisfied with your choices and enjoy them for what they are. Sorry if this sounds like I'm preaching.

Believe, research, buy the best you can, and don't get hung up on the details. Listen to your music, enjoy it, and be proud that you can afford whatever you have. Your music, your life, your choices. This is good!

  5. Very easy to use but overpriced, however there is not much else out there with similar design. Radio Shack carries similar banana plugs, but they cost only a couple of dollars less.

Obviously, sound quality wise these are not any better than $1 banana plugs where you have to tighten the screws, the question to ask is whether the convenience is worth $$ to you.

Three stars only because they are overpriced, if they were $10, I would have given them 5 stars.

  1. I like these LightScribe discs and the colored ones are even better. They add a bit o' variety (the spice of life) to that pile of burned discs you have on your shelf. Seriously though, these work just as advertised although I wish black would show up a little blacker.

  2. Good value for the money, no problem in burning the designs on the label side. I only wish the black effects were more vivid. Some wave-like effects were produced which is not part of the design itself.

  3. This is partially because of my own assumptions, but I thought that this product was for burning DVD's and CD's, but it is almost useless if you want to burn a CD because the sons will only play in DVD players, not CD players at all. It works great for DVD's, but if you're looking for something that does it all, look again.

  4. I have a Lite-On LightScribe DVD burner, and have tried various brands of LightScribe blanks, and have found Verbatim LightScribe discs to be the very best - perfect everytime - no faulty discs in the entire bunch. However, I can not say that about any other LightScribe disc manufacturers; Philips discs being the worst of all - most of the Philips discs failing to operate properly in the DVD burner.

  1. Bought these after hearing my music CDs skip on certain players. These Maxells (made in Japan) have been terrific. They play flawlessly on any CD player I've come across.

  2. I've had several instances where my blank CDs were scratched so badly from general use that they wouldn't play properly. But this isn't the case with these puppies because they have an amazing 3 anti-scratch coatings. Sometimes I got blank CDs with very little writing surface but this isn't the case with these well designed gems because they have 8 lines on front. They always burn with no problems. In sum, these are the very best CD blanks money can buy.

  3. I have a simple dell computer with a standard burner(nothing fancy), but it's worked in the past. So my girlfriend buy these and thus far I've attempted 5 burns and only 1 is successful. I'm returning them.

  4. I have used only 17 of them so far. They record fine. Don't know about lasting, not enough time has passed. So far, so good. I am going to buy them again. Sharon

  5. I usually make 2 copies: 1 with Maxell CD-R Pro and 1 with Verbatim DataLifePlus Crystal. The DataLifePlus Crystal uses a newer Metal Azo process that is "theoretically" designed to last longer--and has a scratch resistant coating--and is about the same cost. However the CD-R Pro uses the traditional cyanine process which is already proven to last for decades--and is one of the few such discs that is labeled as "archival"--and has a triple-coated scratch resistance. I've used both for a year and have no complaints.

Currently I am backing up 16 audio CD's using two Sony internal drives and Nero Express with the "data verification" option checked. At the breakneck speed of 48x I had one failure to verify with a DataLifePlus. I reduced the speed to 40x and have had no problems since. (If necessary I will reduce down to 24x and still be happy with that speed. In the old days I often found it necessary to stay at 4x and if time allows would still do so for critical data.)

  1. Jvc Vdw47Du5 Dvd-Rw 5-Pk (2X). I have a JVC DVD video recorder (DR-MV99BU) that will dub VHS tapes to DVDs (providing no copy protection is involved). I had tried many of the media listed in the users' manual and they would work sporadically. I never knew when they would "finalize". Most often they would not and I have a lot of "coasters." I got the JVC DVD-RW, 4.7GB, discs and all went perfectly. Not a single "non-finalization." GREAT!!

  2. I've been using these disks for recording for months now. They work great. I've never had an issue with them. Also, the cover folds back to write titles on both sides, which is really nice. I've never seen another DVD for recording with that kind of cover.

  3. I own both the JVC DR-MV99BU and DR-MV77s DVD/VHS recorders and these DVD's are the only ones that have worked well with the machines. Tried other brands of rewritable DVD's for recording TV shows/dubbing VHS tapes, but they were very unreliable in getting the job done. Bought these because they were listed in the owner's manual as recommended for use with the DVD recorder models I own and am quite pleased with the results. Have had no problems with these rewritable DVDs. Highly recommend them.
