5 comments about Philips SHS8000 Premium Sound Ear hook Headphones.
- These are the best earphones I've ever had. They sound better that my $150 Panasonic noise cancelling headphones. They fit deep in your ears like ear plugs so you hear every detail in the music, things you probably never heard before. They also fit great, they're a little small but thankfully I have small ears. I would recommend these to anyone looking for earphones that produce good bass in a small package.
- I am not going to say these are the best headphones in the world, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were the best over-the-ear earbuds under $100. I would say they are a shoe-in for best under $50. Great sound quality ... the different size ear-pieces make sure you have a snug fit, and when you do I really think much more bass could damage your ear drum. You can look at the sound specs, and they size up to even some of the high-end earbuds. The earbuds that come with iPods always hurt my ears, so I never thought I would like a pair like this ... but with the small size ear-pieces it is comfortable all day. The over the ear design assures they stay in place even when you are active.
- The quality, sound and base of this product are exceptional in brilliance and surpass far and above anything I have used before. On the scale of 1 to 10, where 10 would be the best sound quality headphones I have used, this would be about 25. Quality of sound is so brilliant it is unbelievable. I have nothing else to say.
- I actually really enjoyed using these headphones. After I lost my Shure E3C's, I wanted to find a cheap comparable replacement. The sound quality was not the same, and the isolation wasn't comparable. I couldn't hear a single outside word on my Shures, but these weren't as sound isolating. I really liked these headphones but I kept on losing the cap sizes. The little plastic pieces that go on the headphones, make or break the comfort level. If I had pulled the headphones out of my pocket, I would have to be so careful about losing the cap sizes. I think this is a great product, but something needs to be done about the damn pieces.
- I live in NYC and walk everywhere so i needed a headphone shat doesn't slowly fall out as i walk down broadway. I also run half marathons, so i needed a headphone that would NEVER fall out. this does that. the sound quality was great right out of package, miles better than your iPod headphones. bass is good and air ported to give it depth, highs are crisp and clear. The interchangeable earpieces were a MUST HAVE!!! i have 2 different shape ear canals, so i wear one large and one medium.

5 comments about Shure EA120 Replacement Foams (Yellow) for Shure E3c, E3g, E4c, E4g, E5c, I3, I4c, E3c-n and E4c-n models - 10 Pair.
- Disposable little tiny pieces of yellow foam which do a nice job of sealing your ears and providing comfort, however, they get dirty very quickly no matter how often you clean your ears before each use, and than you have to toss them and put in another pair.
If you have a lot of disposable income,(pun intended) I suppose they may be worthwhile. However I've switched to the silicon as they are washable, last longer and with a little patience, get almost (though not exactly) as comfortable.
- If you have a pair of Shure headphones, you will need more of these! Probably the most expensive way of fitting the headphones to your ears, but they sound and feel so much better than any of the other modes of fitting.
My only criticism is that they get dirty very quickly, and could last a little longer. Usually I get about a week of use out of them, though rotating 2 pairs at a time often helps them regain their shape between uses and prolongs their life.
- Good replacement earbuds, although pricey for little pieces of foam. My old ones were gross. These last a month or so, unless you dont clean your ears, them maybe a little shorter.
- Product is exactly what I was looking for and was delivered promptly, I'm very satisfied.
- I have tried many times of sleeves for my Shure 3C. I even had custom sleeves specifically made for my ears. None worked as well as this one. It stays in the ear very well and provides excellent isolation. The only drawback is that you have to replace it fairly often.

5 comments about Shure E4c-n Sound Isolating Earphones (Black).
- The sound quality is nice and clear. I find the high frequencies can be a little brassy at times but nothing to get your knickers in a twist. The sound isolating is great even at high volumes. I could be sitting right beside you with them on and the other person won't hear a peep. The only problem i found is it an be a little frustrating finding the right earbud earpieces fit your ears properly. I bought these partially for working out. At first they kept falling out of my ears whenever i moved. It took some trial and error but i finally found the right earbud earpiece to fit my ears. Fortunately they come with a variety of earpieces in different sizes.
- The earphones I received were the SCL4's, which are said to be the same devices as the E4C's but with a different name. The earphones have a balanced sound including adequate bass, but only when there is a very good seal bewteen the sleeves and the ear canal. For me, that meant using the foam sleeves since the default "soft flex" sleeves produced bass that was inadequate. Users who don't want to take the trouble to use the foam or those who simply want more bass might consider the newer SE-310's, which are said to be based on the E4C's but with more bass.
- I've owned a pair of Shure e2c earphones for the past few years. They have been faithful, constant companions on many long flights, airport delays, trips to the gym, and so on. I've used them a lot, so I wasn't disappointed when one of the wires eventually started to fray, and prompted me to look for a replacement. I was thinking of buying another pair of the same, but they are currently being discontinued. The replacement model, the Shure SE110, isn't getting good reviews. So I was looking at the next model in line when I noticed the rest of the s range was being sold off at big discounts. I bought the s4c - in the past $300+ seemed too much to pay for something I might leave on an airplane, or ruin at the beach. At just over half that price, and with the promise of better sound than the SE210 I'm willing to take the risk.
I'm really glad I bought the e4c. I'm also glad I owned a pair of e2c before I bought them. Straight out of the box, the 'default' sleeves look really good (they balance the rest of the earbud perfectly). But, they absolutely don't fit my ears. Being a bit impatient I tried them anyway - ouch! The sound was sibilant, and actually hurt if I turned the volume up too much. I think this is the experience many people have with this type of earphone, and perhaps Shure in particular. It takes a bit of patience finding a good fit. I'm almost there, using the silicone Xmas trees, but not quite. With a good fit these earphones sound really good. I mean REALLY good. I'm hearing things I've never heard in well played tracks - unfortunately, some of this is due to ripping the CD badly, or from my laptop's amp when there is no music playing.
Currently I'm listening to old school House - there is plenty bass. As many people have pointed out in other reviews, this is not as thumping as it might be in cheaper earphones. Instead its accurately reproduced bass that comes through strongly, but not so strongly it bludgeons the mid and high range into oblivion.
All in all. A really good upgrade from the e2c of old, and a bargain at the current price ($170 or so). Highly recommended.
- I recently purchased the Shure E4c-n Sound Isolating Earphones and just love them. I got these for work to block out noise. Our cubicle walls are so thin that you can hear every sound, and I have a very loud person on the other side. When I want a little quiet, I put one ear in - when I want total quiet I put both in. It totally cuts all all background noise. I did a lot of research before I got these. They are well worth the price, and are very comfortable. I would highly recommend these.
- Shure E4c-n Sound Isolating Earphones (Black)
I love these headphones! They are extremely comfortable, secure (they don't fall out), and sturdy (the cables are thick enough to give me confidence that they aren't going to break anytime soon). The sound is also excellent. I have tried many headphones (in-ear)and none of them meet all of the criteria I have described here. Additionally, they are the best sound-proofing headphones that the market offers (in my opinion). They seemed a bit expensive when I ordered them, but after wearing them for a week, I believe that they are worth every penny!!!
Thank you Shure!!

3 comments about Altec Lansing T612 Digital Speaker for iPod and iPhone (Black).
- I have owned several Altec Lansing speaker systems over the year for my iPods...this one is especially designed for the iPhone (and the only one on the market so far).
The sound is clear, rich, and you can crank up the volume quite loudly before you get interference. The sound fills my entire house beautifully.
This is basically plug and play -- plug it in, put in your iPHone or iPod, and play away.
It charges your iPod/iPhone while playing or while in its dock, even when not playing. It does not sync to your computer. It also does not serve as a speakerphone system - you do need to pick up your iPhone to speak into it. When you put it back it the dock, though, it remembers where you were and resumes playing.
It does what it says it will do -- and it is shielded from GSM signal interference, so you do not have to put your iPhone into Airplane Mode, which you must do with any other speaker system on the market currently - that is a plus.
The 199.00 is either cheap for this type of system, or too expensive, depending on your view of things. It is probably overpriced by about 50.00, but you really have no other choice if you want a shielded speaker system for your iPhone.
Recommended.
- I cant review this item because it has been out of stock since the end of April. So, I cancelled it. Sorry.
- This is only docking/speaker product explicitly designed for iPhone that is currently available. It has great sound, good user controls, and is still compact for portability. No trace of interference from the iPhone but the docking action is not very tight and I have to place a foam rubber spacer behind the iPhone to get a reliable connection. As long as you remember to use such a spacer the unit rocks.
When a call comes in on the iPhone the unit pauses but you have to remove the iPhone from the unit to take the call. When finished just return the iPhone to the dock (with foam rubbedr spacer) and the music resumes.

5 comments about Aquapac Waterproof, Submersible Headphones with In-the-Ear Design, 3.5mm plug, Depth to 30ft / 10m.
- I love these earplugs. They are snug and the sound is amazing. They don't fall out and help keep the water out of my ears. I've already recommended this product to 3 people.
- These headphones are very comfortable in the ear and if you stuff them in so the water seals out, the sound is awesome. They sound just as clear underwater while swimming as any regular earbuds do out of water. The only problem is that they do come out. This problem can be alleviated by wearing a swim cap. Just a little pressure on the bud keeps it in this ear. Without the cap though, they will pop out every 100 yards and drive you crazy.
- I bought these in conjunction with my Aquapac, the Aquapac works great however these are a complete waste. They come out with even minimal movement.
- I have tried quite a few waterproof earphones, and these work the best. I use them for swimming and also just to wear around, since they are very comfortable. You have to get them seated correctly before you go in the water, but if you take time to place them properly they do not leak. My only complaint is that the soft rubber seals on the ear buds tend to come off and get lost. However, they do come with spares.
- I have tried waterproof headphones from Aquapac (two different kinds) and H2O Audio. They either do not seal/fit properly in the ear or they don't stay in the ear. These won't stay in the ear. I've tried them. They might work for a few laps, but inevitably come out or lose the seal/sound. I only bought them because I couldn't find another pair I previously had that worked. But I just found them! They are from waterproofcases.net. They have a ribbed insert that goes in the ear canal and seals and *stays*.

5 comments about Belkin F8Z177 Headphone Adapter for iPhone.
- Mine was DOA when I bought it -- sounds drops out when the adaptor bends the slightest. I know that Belkin has a "lifetime warranty" and will replace it, but this thing is an overpriced piece of junk. It's way to stiff and way too tall. I'm not even going to bother getting it replace because even if it did work, I wouldn't use it.
Do yourself a favor and search amazon for the Eforcity iPhone adapter.
- This adapter constantly does not connect correctly with the iphone. Sound will come out of only one speaker because of the connection problems. In order to get it to work right, you have to fiddle with it for fifteen min bending the adapter till it works only to have it mess up again 30 sec later. I would not recommend this adapter, choose another one.
- 1. Its horribly ugly; I almost always found myself trying to hide it with my hand when I took my sleek iPhone out of my pocket.
2. It's like a 2 inch thick grey antenna from a 1980s cellphone.
3. After less than 1 month of use, I began only hearing sound out of one headphone anytime the adapter was flexed or bent even slightly. Of course, it is also flimsy and impossible to keep perfectly straight.
4. Did I mention this is the ugliest, most worthless adapter I've ever had? Thanks for the speed of release Belkin, but you guys really face-planted on this one.
- This adapter does work. However, notice that it only has 3 contacts instead of 4 like the iphone headset has. After you use this adapter, when you unplug it, the microphone on your iphone will be disabled. You will not be able to talk to people on the phone. If you reboot the iphone, everything will be fine - until you use the adapter again. Buy an adapter with 4 contacts. Walmart sells an adapter set (with 5 different pieces) by Schosche for about $10. It is much better.
- The first thing I did was laugh, that was just too funny.
I was about to buy an item on eBay, but before doing so I headed to my trusty Amazon to check for reviews, as I always do.
Anyway, thanks to Ben's uploaded pic... I am STAYING AWAY.
Just look at that thing! It's like attaching a pen to your iPhone, and it's retro motorola cellphone gray colored, to top it off!
Thanks again Amazon peeps for uploading pics, and helping me run away from this purchase.
I was trying to purchase a branded adapter, but I guess I have no choice but to buy the black iphone adapters from ebay for $3.00

5 comments about Olympus ME-12 Noise Canceling Microphone.
- This product is something I use 2 times a week to record school. It works great and does cut out almost all of the background noise. Excellent microphone for the price.
- I could not have been happier with this purchase. When I tried this microphone for the first time during a lecture it worked much better than I could have hope for.
- I purchased this mic and simultaneously an Olympus lapel mic. This one is to "cancel external noise," however, the mic is sensitive enough that it picks up the hissing (sort of like low static) of the little recorder it sits on. I wish it had a cord it could mount onto the end of.
- I bought this to add a microphone to my laptop (for Skype). It works fine, I have a input jack on the right of my laptop.
For proper use, the sound must be directed into the TOP of the mic. So in order for the person to hear me I have to cock my laptop to the side. It would be much nicer if the angle of the head was adjustable so I sit directly in front of my laptop and people hear me.
- Small mic + small price = small quality. Buyer beware, you get what you pay for. I'd recommend spending twice the money for something else. I'm not even sure this mic improved my sound quality at all.

5 comments about Philips RF Modulator (PH61159).
- I've had this unit for almost a year, and it's never given me any trouble. Nothing fancy, not too expensive, and at least mine's worked great. Even though I'm good with modern technology, an RF modulator is SO much better than routing the signal through an old VCR that I rarely use. . . no more "now, what channel do I need the VCR on, again?" moments. Turn TV on, turn player on, push play, watch movie.
- I, too, purchased this RF Modulator to replace an AWFUL Terk Mini-Modulator. As the other reviewer says here, "DO NOT BUY THE TERK MINI MODULATOR!" It has to rank as the WORST electronics purchase I have ever made. Anyway, the Philips RF Modulator is awesome and an excellent value for the price! Terrific audio & visual! This RF Modulator even has an S-Video cable connection. Very cool. I'm impressed with this item and would recommend it to anyone looking to hook up an older TV to your DVD player or VCR or any video game console.
- This product does exactly what I wanted it to do. A simple, transparent way to connect a vcr to an old television. It worked perfectly out of the box.
- I purchased this for connecting my laptop to tv. It worked for few min. after that power cord stopped working. When I put in power cord in switch, power light flashed for one sec and then went off. I returned this. I have read this issue with this product at many places. Don't purchase...
- It allows you to use a modern DVD player with an old TV.
This product is very simple and powerful. You plug in your DVD player with the three plugs (red white yellow) and then attach a coaxial cable to your TV. If you have cable/sat you plug it into this box too. When you power on the DVD, it takes over your TV. When you power the DVD off, you go back to regular TV. Simple!

3 comments about Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Loudspeaker Dock System for iPod (Silver/Black).
- This system and a top iPod equal in sound conventional systems costing much more. Add to that its unsurpassed looks and compact design and you have perhaps the best system for all but the most demanding spaces.
- This piece of kit is no more and no less than a superbly designed complement to Apple's superbly designed iPod.
Got mine this morning. Experienced the same unpacking delight as one enjoys with Apple products as a piece of wonderful industrial design is extracted from equally lovely and efficient packaging.
Set-up is similarly Apple-esque, i.e none required - just works right out of the box (of course you do have to plug it into a power socket!).
The sound is beyond belief wonderful, smooth, full, and clear at all volumes.
Technical note: I import all my music into iTunes using Apple Lossless Encoding. This occupies half the space of CD encoding (AIFF), so rather more than compressing codecs, but it is worth it. I have read that the iPod's DAC is truly excellent. Thus using a lossless encoding that is played back through a quality sound system such as the Zeppelin is going to give the listener a wonderful experience.
Worth every penny of its not so low price. A bargain, therefore.
- Superb sound for the size. Fills the room very well. The iPod dock is slightly mis-aligned on our unit.

5 comments about TDK CDRW80TWN10 10 Pack of 700MB 4x CD-RW Discs in Slim Jewel Cases.
- I have a Sony component CD burner and, for some reason, it doesn't recognize every brand of blank CDR or CDRW. I used to use Fuji All Purpose CDRWs, which worked fine in my stand-alone and my computer but, when they changed the style of the packaging and the label, they must have changed the formatting because my stand-alone will not recognize the new FUJIs. I also had problems with Sony blank CDs, so I tried TDK and I haven't had a problem in either of my CD burners.
- I have an older Phillips CDR 765 machine; for which it's very hard, these days, to find compatible blank CDs for. These TDK Music CD-RWs work great. I've tried other brands, which are not always consistently recognized by my machine.
No problem with these TDKs. Once you've make your 'master' disk; pop it into your computer's burner drive and make a permanent copy. Fantastic!
I highly recommend this product! TDK CDRW80TWN10 10 Pack of 700MB 4x CD-RW Discs in Slim Jewel Cases
- HARD TO FIND ITEM.WORKS GREAT WITH BOTH OF MY CD CUTTERS.I ORDERED THESE AGAIN.ALSO VERY FAST DELIVERY.SUPER GREAT VALUE
- I'm a solo performer. Its critical for me to record my performances for self-evaluation.Using CD-R's all the time proves very costly and actually wasteful.I couldn't find the CD-RW's anywhere in local retail stores...only for computer. These discs at Amazon are perfect.I've been using just one over and over again since receiving a box of 10 .They're excellant and worth a hell of a lot more than their price.I'm set for years!!!!
Chuck Paul
- TDK CD-R80CB100 CD-R 80min, 700 MB, 52x (100-Pack Spindle)
I am extremely disappointed.
CD RW's are supposed to be just that - rewritable. So far, out of 12 used (out of 30 purchased), none
have worked more than once, and 2 didn't even work the first time. A clear breach of warranty.
I don't expect RW's to last forever. The better quality ones I have used in the past wore out after
several uses - but probably around 10. At this point I would be satisfied to get 5 good uses out of
them. But 1 use before being unusable is ridiculous.
I have been too busy to contact Amazon, and I am still trying to find a number or e-mail to contact
TDK. (By law I can go after the manufacturer and all sellers). But since you have asked for my
review, I am giving it.
