2 comments about Quinceanera.
- This is a great book. It gives great detail and is very helpful. I would definately recommend this to a friend/relative.
- As we were planning my daughter's Quinceanera, we purchased this book to share with my daughter's friends and family members who were not familiar with the latin culture of the Quinceanera. This book shares the Quinceanera of two different girls and how special the Quinceanera really is. This book helped our friends understand why the Quinceanera was important to my daughter and insight into the latin culture

1 comments about Biscuit's Fourth of July (Biscuit).
- It is the Fourth of July and Biscuit is ready to learn about another holiday. The Girl-With-The-Purple-Sneakers starts out the day telling Biscuit it is America's birthday.
The rest of the book shows all of the events and activities of the whole day, starting early with setting up decorations all the way to the final fireworks display. Biscuit gets to see lots of fun including picnic and parades.
In the end we are left with a simple lesson in the meaning of the Fourth of July and traditional ways it is celebrated. The story is illustrated with the usual high-standard pictures that are always so adorable. A fun and informative read.

- Cynthia is a little girl who is a pony lover. All she really wants for her birthday is a pony. She gets a goldfish from her parents instead. She is a little upset. Cynthia talksto the fish about her feeling. He tells her that he's a magic fish and all she had to do it take him to the lake and set him free. When she does he said her wish will come true. She puts him in the stroller and sets off for the lake. She wished for a pony. While on the way to the lake she gets to know the fish better and start to really like him. She decides to keep the fish for her pet!
What did you like or not like about the book?
This book is by the creator of the Nick Jr show Oswald. The pictures are done in the same style as the tv show. Fans of the show will also enjoy this book
Would you recommend the book? Why or Why not?
Yes.It shows that even if you don't always get what you wish for things can turn out just fine!
- I bought this book for my son (3 years). He was thrilled by the sequence of the story.
The colors are wonderful, the pictures are large and the book was succesful in attracting the attention of my son right till the end.
If you don't want your kid to ask you to read a story over and over in the same day, then don't buy this book;)

1 comments about Traveling Tom And the Leprechaun.
- Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess who would marry none but the man that could win a leprechaun's pot of gold. Many tried and failed, leaving it up to Traveling Tom, a minstrel. This is the story of Traveling Tom, and how he stopped his traveling.
This is a very charming book! My little one and I loved the story, and really enjoyed the whimsical illustrations. I must say, it put me in mind of the old stories I heard years ago - indeed, it probably is one of them, and it's great. So, if you want to share a wonder-full story of princesses and leprechauns with your little reader, then this is the book for you. We give it two thumbs up!

3 comments about Quinceanera Means Sweet Fifteen.
- I try to read books that I give my goddaughter beforehand to make sure the story is worth the read and not too racy. This is the second book in the Marisol and Magdalena series, and I read it with as much fevor as the first one. I wished it was around when I was fourteen, figuring out if I wanted a quince or not! But besides the quincenera issue, the issue of growing pains between best childhood friends is very real and beleivable. Highly recommend for girls in the age range of 10-14, especially if they are hispanic (even moreso if they are Panamanian;-) ). Any adult that reads this will go right back to those uncertain days of teenagedom.

- Marisol is back from Panama. Magda and her are getting redy for their Sweet Fifteen. The door into womanhood for Latina girls. Marisol's mom,Inez, can't afford a quince. But Marisol dreams about it everyday. While this is going on Marisol's mom has a new boyfriend, which Marisol finds goofy. Another problem is about Magda hanging out with Marisa and Elizabeth(snobs) who make her shoplift. As all of this drama is going on Francisco, a juinor, talks to her after Spanish class. They make a date where she learns more about him. He's Panamanian and he doesn't know his father. At the end she gets her Quinceanera that she's been hoping for.(With Francisco as her date.) Marisol still talks about her memories in Panama and in Nueva York. Like she talks about Ruben and Ana.(Ruben her novio and Ana her amiga in the first book. This book was great. I recommend it to all girls!

3 comments about P.J. Funnybunny and His Very Cool Birthday Party (Pictureback(R)).
- My three year old loves this book and talk about how she wants to have a cool birthday just like PJ. The book has PJ and his friends guessing what the big surprise is for his birthday.
- Mrs. Funnybunny takes PJ and his friends off to a birthday party. Along the way, all the friends take turns discussing what would be the best party ever.
After each of PJ's friends expresses his opinion, Mrs. Funnybunny agrees with him and tells them that that will, indeed, be at PJ's party, too. But, as they pass each mentioned activity, Mrs. Funnybunny drives right past. Where could Mrs. Funnybunny be going? There are no major surprises in this book - just a sweet children's book about a birthday party. I'd recommend it for a birthday present for a child in the 3-6 age group.
- Classic kid book. One of the "musts" to have in your kids collection.
