  1. Tate provides a fun, fresh and informative look into the history of tea and tea parties. The precocious Emma takes us through all the steps of a tea party that should be fun for children of all ages. I bought copies for my nieces who love it. TEATIME is a perfect gift book.

  2. A wonderful and vibrant book both in picture and text, TEA TIME gives young girls an interesting introduction to the history of tea and tea parties. Emma is a precocious narrator and her Aunt Pru a wonderful teacher. It's a perfect gift book -- I bought one for each of my nieces who love it!

  3. This is an absolutely delightful book that opened my eyes about tea parties. I highly recommend it to the parent of any child with a vivid imagination and sense of fun. Emma Buttersnap, the charming heroine, goes on an intriguing journey to a mysterious land (England). Along the way she learns history (Boston Tea Party), botany (all the varieties of tea), arts & crafts (doily making) and more. There's a juicy mystery that kept my own daughter quite intrigued. The illustrations, by the way, are superb.

  4. What a darling book...I have a tea business and when children come for tea they bring their dolls which are set at the doll tea table...this book is displayed there...my nieces loved it too when I read it to them!

  5. Loved it. It is out of print so I am lending it around my playgroup. No little girl should be without this charming book! I hope it is reprinted for Christmas 2006. What a great gift.

  1. Need an excuse to explore ethnic and religious holidays and practices? This is your vehicle. The interesting and exciting practices surrounding Chinese New Year can so easily be compared in writing, drama and story-telling of many other cultures. You cannot go wrong with this book.

  2. This is a simply written and beautifully illustrated book about the Chinese New Year. Through delicate line drawings and jewel like colors the author/illustrator captures the essence of Chinese mythical creatures, flora, fauna, heavenly creatures and mortals. We learn about Chinese zodiac symbols, gods, how Chinese people prepare for the New Year, why they eat special kinds of foods on New Year's Day, the symbolism of specific flowers as gifts, and the meanings of Chinese characters hung on doorways. Demi is the talented author and illustrator of many children's books with Chinese themes. This book is definitely one of my favorites.

  3. This is a nice introduction to chinese new year. I will use it as a informational guide and have my Chinese-Vietnamese students look it over to facilitate a discussion about their new year. Thanks.

  4. I haven't found a book by Demi that isn't terrific. This is a great book for young children, it gives lots of great information on the Chinese New Year and what one does to get ready for the New Year celebration! A must have for anyone with an who wants their child to know about their hertitage!

  5. This is a cute, easy to read book that discusses the basic elements of Chinese New Year.

  1. This book has so many elements children love: pictures of animals, a birthday party, a birthday cake (my 2-yr-old loves pictures of birthday cakes!), kisses, friends, etc. It tells children about different kinds of kisses (morning kisses, goodbye kisses, etc), and it has cute illustrations to go with it. The cute illustrations have details that my daughter loves to point out and name, and the colors are good. We like this book and recommend it to others.

  2. This is an ideal book for mom or dad to read to their little one. The illustrations are great and quite eye catching. The book is entirely about love, love between parent and child and that is a good theme to read about with any child. The text is simple to understand and goes quite well with the illustrations. This is a great bed time story book or setting under a tree book for you and your young ones. Recommend this one highly.

  3. This is one of my grandbabies favorites....and I have five. I make certain I buy it for any expectant parents I know. I find myself asking my grandkids, 'Won't you be my Kissaroo?' even when we're not reading the book.

  4. This book is fantastic! We read it every night to our one year old daughter as part of her bedtime routine. She loves it!

1 comments about Here's to You, America! (Peanuts).
  1. This cute little book (29 pages, excluding the title page and so forth) is another excellent example of the work of the incomparable Charles M. Schulz. This book places the Peanuts gang back in 1787, where they assist the Constitutional Convention. As they do their good deeds, they learn about the new American form of government.

When I was a child, I absolutely loved the Peanuts, and I am so pleased that my own children have now fallen in love with those same funny characters. This book is large and attractive, with brightly colored pictures that are sure to please the young reader (and Peanuts fans of all ages). In particular we all had a laugh at Snoopy and Woodstock wearing 18th century powdered wigs! My children and I highly recommend this book to you!
