- This is probably Barbara Edens best movie. She's not famous for great movies, but this is my favorite, because she looks HOT! If you like her as Jeannie, as I do, you will like her in The Woman Hunter. She still looks like Jeannie in this one, and we get to see her in several sexy outfits, including a bikini, navel and all!! Very Hot! Oh, the movie is OK, too. Kind of a, Who is the Killer, murder mystery type. But the only reason to get the movie is, The Sexy Barbara Eden!! You won't be sorry. She's HOT!!
- I am a fan of Barbara Eden, who is a truly natural beauty. Unfortunately, this movie is pretty flat and even the surprises are formulaic. There is a suspicious though seductive guy watching her during a moment of marriage tension, she is still traumatized from an auto accident, and no one will listen to her fears. Of course, it isn't what it appears to be, or not completely, etc. The movie is pleasant enough, but kind of a bore.

5 comments about Mannheim Steamroller - The Christmas Angel: A Story on Ice.
- This definitely has to be near the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Christmas specials, although it seems not to prevent this monstrosity from blighting the airwaves every Christmas season. It is so bad on so many levels --- a typically cheesy good vs. evil Christmas story, mundane "stars on ice" skating, and of course the always godawful music of Mannheim Steamroller. In a day & age when the airwaves are littered with embarrassingly tacky holiday specials, "The Christmas Angel" dexterously combines several dreadful elements which result in a holiday experience which will burn itself onto your memory --- unfortunately --- for all time. If you like this sort of stuff, you may be grateful for this, but if you possess a modicum of good taste, you may want to avoid this like the plague.
- This was an excellent production and enjoyed by our 8 and 10 year old grand daughters. We previewed the DVD first and then prior to showing it to our grand daughters talked about good and evil in life and that there was good and evil in what they were going to see. We thought the devil looking skaters would bother them.
- GREAT ALBUM! Not quite as BIG as Trans Siberian but still a keeper!
- when i saw this on TV the first time i knew i had to own it. its Dorothy at her absolute best. she is a gem in the skating world and she really shines in this production, along with the wonderful cast and my favorite Christmas music. we watch it every holiday season as well as throughout the year. thanks, Chip!
- Thoroughly enjoyable DVD. I have long followed the skaters and skating shows. So I am familiar with the cast of this show. The addition of Mannheim Steamroller music adds to its uniqueness. I bought a sample of this DVD last year and decided I must have the complete show. Well executed wih a cute story line. Randy Gardner's choreography is amazing.

4 comments about Summer Holidays.
- "Summer Holiday" is a wonderful feel-good film. It is a tale of the hate-love relationship between two people from different worlds - one a recently fired office worker from the city, and the other a hick who lives on a beach in Malaysia. Summer wants only to sell the beach of which she owns half, but More More Tea owns the other half and has different plans for it.
The plot is decent, though the sub-plot with the sunken treasure pushes it a bit. It seems the filmmakers only wanted to show off their underwater camera equipment, and the beauty of the Malaysian islands. The acting is decent, and the dialogue is often hilarious, though typically mistranslated. On top of everything, the scenery is magnificent, and the musical soundtrack is superb. Even if you don't see this movie (though I highly recommend it), do NOT miss out on the soundtrack. Sammi Cheng, who plays Summer, is a Hong Kong superstar with somewhere around 30 albums out. Her karaoke performance of "Kuai le bu kuai le" is featured about halfway through, and is quite nice. Thumbs up all around on this one. ^_^
- I love this film and this is one of my favorite Sammi Cheng films! Sammi plays Summer, who is fired from her investment job and loses her boyfriend George on the same day, not to mention becoming broke due to a bad stock tip from her best friend, Daisy. Summer remembers helping a cousin of hers to buy some beachfront property in Malaysia the year before and realizes she can get herself back on track with the $3 million offered by a private developer to build a resort on the property. The catch is she only owns 1/2 the beach and has to convince her cousin to sell her his half. When she arrives in Malaysia she finds out that her cousin had sold his half of the beach to a charming local, who calls himself More More Tea (or Momocha), in order to settle his gambling debts. Summer then begins working on Momocha to convince him to sell him her half of the beach while he has no intention of selling. Sammi Cheng and Richie Ren have good on-screen chemistry and the beautiful scenery of Malaysia makes a lovely back-drop to the story. Overall this is one of the best romantic comedies I have seen in a long time and features a good soundtrack. A real highlight is the song Sammi Cheng sings in the karaoke bar - don't miss it!!
- If beach side romance is your thing, then this movie is your thing. Beautiful sand, gorgeous waves, and good looking people playing on it. What more can you ask? :-D
richie ren and sammi cheng have great on-screen chemistry in this movie. Their characters clashed in just the right ways for the movie to work. A blockbuster hit in Hongkong when it came out, and definitely deserves a peek by audiences world-wide.
- Rather sweet somewhat unconventional romantic comedy set on one of the whitest beaches of the world on the Redang island of Malaysia. The first reviewer (see above) has a good summary of the story. Although the movie is entirely in Cantonese with English subtitles, it would loose much of its character if it were dubbed. Most songs are also nice.
My favorite part, however, is the photography which is unusually artistic with beautifully composed images, carefully selected colors and lighting putting the naturally beautiful island and the actors perfectly into scene.
If you have ever watched the old Marilyn Monroe/ Tony Curtis classic "Some like it hot" 24/7 in the original filming location at the Coronado Hotel in Coronado, California, then I suggest not buying this video, but going to spnd some time at the Laguna Resort on Redang Island. They show this movie 24/7 on the hotel room TVs as well - and you can check out the beach and water activities 1sthand, too...

- I am so glad to have a copy of Claymation Christmas. Why the networks don't show this at Christmastime anymore is beyond me. It is so well done, and delightful each time we watch it. Would like to see more videos from Will Vinton's Studio!
- This is a must have for anyone with kids, or who is still a kid at heart. The claymation technique is unique and versatile, the music is wonderful (the camels are my favorite), and the joyous feel to the pieces make it well worth your 24 minutes.
"Joy to the World", done soul style, is a truly amazing piece -- it's hard to believe THAT was done with clay.
If you love animation, if you love rampant silliness, if you love the spirit of the holidays, this is one you should have in your collection. It's finally been released to DVD, and I grabbed it, plus a copy for my sister -- the DVD also contains claymation specials on Easter and Halloween, but this one is by far the best segment. Pour some eggnog, grab some gingerbread, and enjoy!
- This is the classic Claymation Christmas. Unfortunately, the manufacturer used the cheaper mode of duplication...EP Mode. For the viewer, that means tracking problems and poor picture and audio quality.
Recommended--This has been newly reissued in VHS and DVD. In addition to Claymation Christmas, both include the other Claymation holiday specials, Comedy of Horrors (Halloween) and Claymation Easter. And the VHS version is now released in the best video quality SP Mode.
- This is by far one of the most memorable Christmas movies yet. I have watched this every year since it came out and still laugh. This is the type of movie that someone doesn't forget, like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. The Camels are great, as are the Crazy Bells. Definitely a movie to add to the collection. Can't wait until it gets put on DVD. As for the person that reviewed this, they definitely don't have an imagination nor a sense of humor.
- This has been my favorite Christmas Special since the night my sister and I watched it for the first time as kids. None of the other specials out there have the this type of creativity or the unique take on holiday classics.
"Joy" is one of the most visually beautiful, touching versions I've ever seen or heard, I'm moved by it every time and find myself singing the song in the car around the holidays.
The Camels and the Bells will have your stomach hurting, from laughing too hard! My daughter fell for this special like a ton of bricks, and we've been watching it every night since she got it in the mail. I'm still not tired of it, that's how good it is.

- This is the most hilarious, in your face depiction of the "normal dysfunctional" family get-together ever. The casting, script and acting is so good that I never tire of the film. It is fast paced and witty to the core. I put it right up there with the classic, A Christmas Story--a must see for every holiday season. Even the teenagers in the family love it. My daughter asked for her own copy this year.
- This great story about a more "normal" family than most will ever admit starts funny and ends nicely (and you will need to pay attention to get it). In between we are taken on a roller coaster ride of insanity, dark humor, insight, observation and discomfort - as in "OMG-that's my sister (brother, dad, etc.). I laughed, cried, puzzled, identified and it seemed to all sum up in Dad's thanksgiving prayer and "bogey, bogey, par, par son."
With Jody Foster directing, Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr., Anne Bancroft and Charles Dunning starring in a movie about Families at Thanksgiving and raising kids --- I can only say "perfect"... My family and friends make this a Thanksgiving/Christmas watch... not everyone is ready for this level of reality but hey--- it only comes once a year!
- This seller (Movie Mars)sent defective merchandise. After returning it at MY cost, I had to keep contacting the company to find out what happened to my replacement. Home for the Holidays
- This is such a great movie, saw it years ago and always wanted it. So I added it to my movie library, and love it. Great holiday movie.
- This film embodies the abject misery a lot of people experience when forced to go home to The Family for the holidays. You have to confront aging parents, aging siblings and old school friends/rivals. Nothing is the same anymore; yet you are bombarded with bittersweet memories. This film delivers in all those areas. You identify with the characters because you either know people like this or are related to them!
Robert Downey Jr really shines in this - which is amazing since the cast was brilliant. His performance just sparkles. He plays the gay brother of Holly Hunter who starts out just plain weird and becomes The Star of the film. I was disappointed when his character just goes away by escaping the insanity of The Family when he goes back to his real home to be with people who really love and appreciate the person he is rather than the little boy his family remembers. It seemed to me that the spark was gone after that.
Anyway, buy this film, put on the popcorn, curl up and enjoy. Oh, and Merry Christmas. Heh heh heh.
