- Great cartoon for kids of all ages, especially bunny fans.
- This is a great film for extremely small children -- there are lot of small breaks and the dialogue is simple so even a toddler could watch and follow along. Adults might not like the pacing but the storyline is still interesting:
The rabbits you remember from Watership Down, Hazel, Big Wig, Fiver and Pip are back and they are looking for food for the Frith's Eve or Rabbit Christmas celebration. They run into a hungry fox and are rescued by another rabbit warren. But Fiver gets a bad feeling about these new rabbits who live close to humans and even take food from them--are the rabbits of Watership Down in danger? Watch this delightful movie to find out.
Extra Note: This movie, unlike the 1979 Watership Down film is much more cartoony and flat in its animation. The effort to make the rabbits look real isn't the main focus, and the animation is friendlier for little kids used to traditional cartoons.
- My boys loved it though I bought it for my husband. He thought it was perfect. A nice follow up to his well loved childhood story, the original Watership Down. I will likely buy the additional movies that were listed with this title, I believe they were part of a series that must have aired shortly after the original came out.

5 comments about What's New Scooby-Doo, Vol. 4 - Merry Scary Holiday (with Toy).
- The new Scooby Doo adventures are much better than the old ones. They have more comedy and they aren't near as scary for younger kids as the older ones. My five year old son loves the new Scooby Doo way more and he has seen both. This one is a cute DVD - the Christmas one has a great lesson for kids about sharing. The other three adventures are very cool and very imaginative. While in the new adventures some things don't make as much sense as in the old (details like how the monster worked) it's much more fun for the kids!
- My daughter loves Scooby. My mom sent her this one for Halloween and my grandma bought her the Christmas one for Christmas and she loves it. She owns a few other volumes but she always goes back to those two. I enjoy watching them with her and they remind me of when I use to love watching Scooby!
- Excellent quality DVD. My sons love being able to watch Scooby whenever they want.
- I can't believe how fun this was! I watched Scooby Doo and the gang while I was growing up and now my 2 year old daughter has been introduced to them! This DVD was perfect for the holiday! In a sea of cutesy childrens holiday programs, i.e. Winnie-the-Pooh, Mickey Mouse and such, this was refreshing, a bit scary but had my daughter laughing, hiding and glued to the screen! My daughter asks to watch this over and over!
- My children and i are huge fans of Scooby and we have never seen any of these movies in Australia, great so buy something that they haven't already seen

5 comments about Halloween III - Season of the Witch.
- John Carpenter tried to extend the HALLOWEEN franchise with this 1982 entry, released, of course, just days before the holiday. His friend Tommy Lee Wallace, who had acted as Production Designer and Editor on both the original HALLOWEEN and THE FOG, made his directorial bow with this film. The original story was written by the great Nigel Kneale, creator of Professor Quatermass, but Kneale had his name removed from the credits when Wallace re-, re-, and then re-rewrote his script. It would have been lovely to see what SEASON OF THE WITCH would have been like with Kneale's original story. In any case, Wallace's version of the story is very much a Fifties-style horror/sci-fi film, with mysterious goings on in an isolated Southern California town (a la INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS), a terrible computer-age secret which is obligingly explained by the villain (wonderfully played by veteran character actor Dan O'Herlihy), a lead performer who is not your usual hero (TV character actor Tom Atkins), a damsel in distress (Stacey Nelkin, ditto, TV), and plenty of available victims for the baddies to dispatch in creative ways.
The very atmospheric cinematography in Anamorphic 2:35 to 1 Widescreen is by Carpenter stalwart Dean Cundey, who has also lensed JURASSIC PARK, all three BACK TO THE FUTURE films, WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT and ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL along with about 65 other films and TV shows. He and Carpenter support Wallace at every turn, making SEASON much better than the usual debut Director feature. And, even though the film had a microscopic budget (courtesy of Universal), the clever use of color, light, shade and available props and standing sets give the film the look of a moderately budgeted feature. Special makeup (by Oscar and Emmy nominated wizard Tom Burman) and effects are used sparingly and judiciously for maximum impact.
The music, surprise surprise, is by John Carpenter and Alan Howarth (and there was even a soundtrack elpee on genuine vinyl, which did contain that "Silver Shamrock" commercial that will bore into your brain by the end of the movie. The music was also reissued on CD on Varese Sarabande, now out of print, but re-reissued on Alan Howarth's own label with 13 bonus tracks, in a limited edition of 1000 (and you can still get it, as of this writing, July 2008, right here on Amazon!)
If you are looking for the further adventures of Michael Myers, you won't find them in SEASON. At the time of release, Carpenter said he hoped that he could start a tradition of a different "Halloween" film every year. SEASON failed miserably at the box office, mainly because, despite the television and print advertising, the public expected The Shape. Too bad.
The DVD edition of SEASON is available in a stand-alone as well as in a double-feature pack with HALLOWEEN 2. Both versions are through Universal. The DVD is in full 2:35 to 1 Widescreen, but has no bonus features, not even the trailer. Darn.
So, if you are in the mood for witches and warlocks and things that go "misfire" in the night, try HALLOWEEN 3: SEASON OF THE WITCH. And if you want to know what I mean by "misfire", you'll just have to watch the movie. Closely. Heh, heh, heh. . .
- This is one of the worst movie I have ever seen. It's not even a horror movie, in the true sense. The first two Halloween movies were very good and I expected the same out of the next one when I bought it. To find out that it has nothing to do with the other movies, in fact, it shows the first Halloween movie on the television as an actual film and not something that would have happened, as a sequel should be. This is more like some cheesy, stupid, 80's sci-fi movie and should not even have the Halloween name. If you have this movie, you should burn it and if you don't, don't ever see it or even waste money on buying it (like I made the mistake of). It really sucks!
- I don't know why people don't like this one. I know Michael Myers wasn't in it and they needed something new. You hate it as a Halloween Film, but would you like it if it was just 'Season of the Witch'?
My Review May Contain Spoilers: PLOT:
This film begins with an old man running from these weird agents, a gas station clerk takes him to a hospital.
Dr. Challis ( Atkins ) returns to his ex-wifes house with masks for his children. The children tell their father that they have received 'Silver Shamrock' masks. The children turn on the TV and watch the silver shamrock commercial.
Challis goes to the hospital to see whats up with the old man the clerk brought in. After giving the man treatment, the man sees the Silver Shamrock commercial on a TV. He then makes a mental scene that "their gonna kill us a''!"
After a nurse puts him in a room, an agent walks in and pulls the mans skull apart.
When the nurse sees the body, she beggs Challis to chase the man who killed him. The agent that killed him exploded himself in the parking lot to avoid being caught.
The police then investigate the two murders. The next day, the mans daughter Ellie comes in to view of the death of her father. Ellie then brings Challis to the toy shop her father owned and shows her these records of where her father was seen at.
The go to the Shamrock Mask Factory to see if he stopped there. The rent a motel with a woman named Marge, and a very weird motel owner.
While Challis is walking alone, an RV pulls right in front of him and almost drops a childs bike on him. The father apologizes about it, ( as the son asks " Is it busted!?" ). They introduce themselves to be The Kuper Family, Buddy ( Ralph Strait ), The Wife, and their son
"Little" Buddy Jr. ( Brad Schacter ).
Later that night, Challis runs into a man who is living in a trailer besides the motel. He tells Challis about how he hates Conal Cochran ( The owner of the mask factory ) and the masks. Cochran has camera in everybodys house, motel room, every street, and microphones on everybody so he can listen in on them.
Hearing the man sware about him, Cochran sends out more agents to kill the man. The mindless agents pull the mans head right off with their bare hands. ( Challis or Ellie not hearing it ).
Ellie is talking with Marge, who has a Silver Shamrock mask for her son. She notices that a microchip has falling off the back ( asumming it is the tag ), later that night, Marge sees the chip on the floor and starts poking it to see what it is......
A lazer beam shoots right out of the chip at Marge. Ellie hearing it but Challis not. Then it cuts back into Marges room and we can see that her mouth in slahsed out, with blood spirting out, and insects crawling out........
When Challis and Ellie wake up, they see that Conal Cochran, has placed her inside of the factory where "she'll get the best treatment". Cochran the gets back into his limo and drives away along with the ambulance.
Challis and Ellie take a tour of the Silver Shamrock factory with the Kupfer family. ( Buddy insists that Ellie and Challis come ). When they reach the latex room, Little Buddy Jr. tells Cochran he would like a mask.
An agent working at the factory gives Little Buddy a brand new, unopened mask in the form of a jack-o-lantern. Cochran then exclaims, now the final process is to come in an evil voice.
Buddy ( senior ) asks him what the final process was and Cochran just changed the subject.
Buddy Senior and Challis are talking about what all stuff Cochran has done with his factory. Ellie and the wife are talking about how her husband was the best mask salesman Cochran ever had.
As they are leaving, Ellie sees her fathers car in a chop shop garage with a bunch of agents around it. That night, Ellie insists on leaving. Challis goes to checkout of the motel and when he comes back, finds that Ellie has been kidnapped by the factory workers.
He then goes to the factory and then then is severly beaten by an agent, but when Challis knocks the agent out, he finds out that all the factory workers are robots. He then is abducted by Cochran, Cochran tells his what his master plan is, and then he demonstrates what it is, with the Kupfer family.
He plans to kill every kid wearing a halloween shamrock mask with the TV. As the Shamrock commercial plays, it will kill any child that is watching through-out the world.
The Kupfer family is locked in a testing room. ( Test Room A ) The commercial then rolls, Little Buddy Jr. puts o his jack-o-lantern mask and watches the commercial, while the parents are joking off, the microchip on the back of the mask activates and his melts the childs head within the mask.
The parents then see their son laying on the ground with a mutated head, and the wife faints, streaming snakes & insects come out of Little Buddy Jr.'s and the wifes head, the father is killed by getting bitten by a snake. The whole family lies there dead, with horrified Challis watching.
The commercial then stops and Cochran shows Challis were he has hidden Ellie. Challis is givin a Silver Shamrock mask and tied to a chair in front of the TV so he will also get killed by the commercial.
After Cochran leaves, Challis kicks the TV screen until it explodes. He uses the glass to break free. He puts the mask over the security camera and crawls out through the vent. An agent notices hes gone.
He then goes to save Ellie and to escape. They go up to the catwalks on the ceiling of the factory. They take a box of microchips and all the lazers from the chips murder all of the factory workers / agents.
The flashing commercial on the TV does no good with Cochran, after a lazer beam forms from all of the TVs, the light bounces off of a giant mirror and strikes the room, murdering Cochran. The factory bunrs to a crisp.
Challis and Ellie now have to warn America about the mask, driving home, Ellie attacks Challis almost killing him, Finding out that Ellie was on Cochrans side, he then decapitates her, and slaughters all of her ramining body.
He runs all of the way to the gas station were the old man came and he rushes inside and uses the phone. He calls the FCC to tells them to stop the commercial.
Some kids go to the gas station for candy, two of the three channels are shut down. The commercial rolls on the last channel, the station fails to take down the commercial, Challis violently yells ( STOP IT! ) in the phone and then the screen goes black, and all the children are implied to be dead.
- People I love the Halloween series. The SHape ( Michael Myers) is my fav. horror movie icon. But I have to address this..Part 3 is not a bad movie. Not great but not bad either. It has a great musical score on par with Halloween and Halloween 2 score. It has some memorable and creepy moments. Its a movie you have to view with an open mind.
- Well, it has nothing to do with the rest of the Halloween films, and there's no witch involved, but if you can overlook those rather large failings, this is an almost adequate film. The creators of Halloween tried to take the series in a different direction with this film, and it almost sort of kind of doesn't work. Though the protagonists, an aging "Joe 6-pack" divorcee doctor and his jail bait girlfriend on the side from his girlfriend on the side from his ex wife who is only having crazy sex escapades with him because he's helping her solve the death of her father whom she forgets to morn after roughly five minutes of film, are anything but likable, the film almost holds together for a while. It's not of the same genre as the previous films, indulging in only one brief slasher scene, but its far out and mysterious premise is actually quite engaging for a time. The plot, involving a conspiracy of robots and ancient druid wizardry, actually works decently for much of the film, almost like an unnecessarily long but intriguing Twilight Zone episode, only glued together with a healthy suspension of disbelief. Heck, it even manages to explore the significance of Halloween in a way that nearly earns it a place in the franchise, but the ending falls apart badly. As soon as we hit the climax, nothing makes sense anymore and, quite soon after, everything just gets plain silly. Dr. 6-Pack's battle with the annihilated robot's severed limbs would have worked much better with Bruce Campbell playing the role. So, all in all, it was kind of sort of not really but almost a decent film. Oh well.

5 comments about Disney's Sing Along Songs - Very Merry Christmas Songs.
- This DVD has been around for many years but it has been updated. It is great for children to hear and learn Christmas songs, especially the traditional ones. I use it in my day care and buy it as gifts for the younger children. They love it!!!
- I purchased this one for my 4 years old girl for the Holidays. She loved it and it was wonderful to play it to bring our home some Christmas spirit.
Some songs have slow pictures which possibly won't entertain smaller Children. For my 4 years old who loves Christmas songs and know most of them word for word it was very entertaining.
Great songs choices and presentation for the most part.
- This is a cute video. It has more religious songs than I would of liked. I expected mostly fun goofy songs about Christmas. It is a children's video after all. The music itself is well done. There is a wide range of characters singing. Not a bad video over all.
- This is an excellent Christmas DVD.
Preschoolers through 2nd graders love this music.
Great animation.
Adult friendly!
- I completely agree that they really messed this one up. The original was charming and heart warming, but the new one is...well, a little creepy. I think the voiceover reminds me of The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is a great film, but not at all what this video was about. The new songs don't flow well, and the differences in animation are jarring at best. I really can't see why they changed it at all, except maybe to lengthen it. I just shelved my DVD and ordered another VHS to replace my old one. I don't think the DVD wil get pulled out anytime soon....

- This DVD is a lovely blend of classic Christmas song recordings by original artists, and dreamy visuals of Kincaide classics evoking Christmas in small-town America. The most fascinating aspect of the DVD is how the cinematographer managed to pan through the paintings in ways that complement the musical selections and give this whole work much more 'action' and visual interest than you'd suppose possible. The camera takes you into the pictures. The music takes you back to the time of the paintings. Kincaid's special feature art lessons are great for the art lover or just art interested. He trains the viewer's eyes in a very relaxed way, focusing in on specific works and the little extra details you might not first notice in them. I liked this so much I got 3 more to give as Christmas gifts.
- I received my copy of this DVD in time for a xmas gift. This seller is one of the fastest deliveries I have ever got of the internet. Will use this seller again.
- This DVD is wonderful for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations. The pictures are beautiful and the music is very relaxing. Just put it on and enjoy it with family and friends.

5 comments about The Easter Bunny Is Coming to Town.
- Another claymation classic! I remember very little of this as a child and as I rewatched it, it all came back to me. If you enjoy Santa Claus is Coming to Town, you'll enjoy this. It has many similarities with questions being answered about the main character, mountain villians who turn nice, somber towns, a cruel ruler, catchy songs, memorable, adorable characters, etc. Sunny the Bunny is adorable with his rosey cheeks and the chickens are so sassy. And bringing back Fred Astaire at the Narrator was a smart choice. I recommend this DVD or the one made a few years back. The nice one about this is the DVD has a paper cover over it and Sunny has fuzzy fur you can feel. It may be cheesey at times, but give in to your inner child and have fun!
- Joseph Brando's review is spot-on; everything he wrote is accurate to-the-letter concerning yet another ridiculous and unnecessary Warner reissue of a Rankin-Bass animation classic. 'tis such a shame that R-B titles have been so badly botched in recent years. Remember the godawful Destiny's Child video slapped onto the "Original Television Christmas Classics" box set a few years ago???
Now, let me address the previous revewier, "A. King". Umm... I hate to tell you this but you don't appear to know much about Rankin-Bass animation. The studio did not use Claymation in its animation but the tried-and-true wire armature process. Think the original King Kong... and a Happy 75th B-day to you, Kong!!! ;) 'Claymation' is a term trademarked exactly 30 years ago by it's creator, Will Vinton.
With that said, buy the original release of The Easter Bunny Is Comin' to Town and have a blast with Sunny, Gadzooks and the Big Rock Candy Mountain!!!
- Between the train, Gadzooks the bear, and all the cute songs on this video, my 2 yr. old watched this dvd several times.
My husband and I liked it because it "explains" all the rituals of Easter: why do we color/hide eggs, why do we get new clothes, Easter bonnets, chocolate bunnies/jellybeans, etc.
The extras were, in my opinion, lousy, but that's not what I bought it for.
If your child(ren) enjoyed this video, I'd also recommend getting "Peter Cottontail", another Rankin-Bass video my son loved.
- I think this is a cute movie. My 3-year-old like it. It's like the old Santa clause is Coming to town movie and Frosty the Snowman. It's a classic. Glad I have it in my collection.
- I have a copy of the 2006 release of "The Easter Bunny Is Comin' To Town" and this 2008 Deluxe Edition and have compared them. The deluxe edition has definitely improved the quality. I checked it on our tv and computer. It isn't noticeably clearer, mind you, but the motion is less choppy, more smoothed over, making it a better video to watch. I'm not sure why the 2006 version was like this. The old VHS tape we have of it was smoother than the 2006 dvd, too. All in all, it's a fun, good feelin', holiday classic that an avid Rankin Bass fan like me can't do without. People, if you get a copy, save your eyes and get this newer one.

4 comments about Impact! Songs That Changed The World: Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas? / Bob Geldof, Midge Ure, Smokey Robinson, John Oates.
- This is NOT the original 'making of' documentary that also contained the video single. Instead, it's a 'new' documentary about Band Aid and is made up of clips from the original documentary and some new interviews. It's short, only 23 minutes, so do not expect any kind of in-depth information. Basically, it's a 'hack' program with no original analysis or scholarship. Those expecting the original documentary and song/video will be sorely disappointed. The DVD jacket does NOT make it clear that it is a new program either. AVOID if you are looking for the original 1984 song and making of documentary (which, BTW, has NOT been released on DVD yet - only VHS, Beta in the USA and LaserDisc in Japan - hopefully, we'll get an HD-DVD of the original program.)
- Somebody wanted my money and they got it. The song may have been longer than this documental clip. I didn't read the review before purchasing, what a bummer. I should have learned from the first time when I tried to buy a dvd from a company called CAIMAN. You may have heard about them. Beware of the mini storage based wanna be a company. HEY CAIMAN if you are out there listen to this...
Next time you want to FÜ¿ÆæK someone KISS THEM FIRST
Oh Yeh about this dvd, save your money there is no music and you will learn nothing except that we are getting older.
- This is one of a series of 12 reasonably priced ($9.99 list) DVDs released in the US by SRO (Part of Kultur International) under the umbrella "Impact: Songs That Changed The World". Each runs about 24 minutes as it was co-produced by Canadian TV and broadcast on the cable CMT network in the US in 2002 and 2003.
I could tell from the quality of the editing - even before I saw the end credits - that this was produced by Gregory Hall. Hall - who also makes music documentaries under his own Hallmark Productions banner - has been cranking these out for about 20 years now. I first saw his Country Music bios. They've always been well edited and usually contain great interview "sound bites". The four volumes in this series that I've watched so far are no exception. Some of the interviews were recent at the time of the show's production while some go back to the 80s and 90s and have appeared in other Hall productions. (You can tell by the locations where they were taped.)
Most of the Impact series DVDs cover more than the single records that are the topics. They also cover the impact that artist - at that point in time - had on our culture from style of dress to style of music.
In the case of the Band Aid volume the focus expands to successor group tributes such as "we Are The World" in the US and the Canadian tribute (after all this series was made for Canadian TV). There's lots of Bob Geldolf here. Personally, this is the weakest of the series I've viewed so far. Check out the others in the series first. I gave them all higher ratings.
These DVDS will leave a legacy to the next generation and can be very useful in, not only music history classes but in the study of late 20th century "pop culture".
Steve Ramm
"Anything Phonographic"
- If you are hoping to see the original video then you are in for a major disappointment.
The documentary was weak at best....other than some interviews with Bob Geldoff and Midge Ure, you only got to catch glimpses of SOME of the other performers. The video documented very briefly about Live Aid, USA For Africa, and Canada's effort with "Tears Are Not Enough"....but once again, you didn't get to see the videos....only little glimpses here and there of the stars.
This was truly a complete waste of money and my time to view it.
