5 comments about Dr. Seuss - How the Grinch Stole Christmas/Horton Hears a Who.
- I love this movie. I have watched it over each year since I was little. Now our tradition is to watch it on Christmas Eve night just before bedtime. I love the message it brings about how love makes your heart fill with compassion and gratitude. The Grinch's dog Max is hilarious and I love Cindy Lou Hoo. It is a family tradition for sure.
- My daughter watches this movie all year round and knows it by heart. I think Jim Carey did a great job.
- What can I say, everyone knows it's a classic and the reproduction quality of this remastered edition is worth buying even if you have the original.
- I got this for my granddaughter and she loves it! she is a big Grinch Fan.
I would reccommend it for any viewing age.
- I'm looking for the original (60's or 70's) television version of Horton Hears a Who that have the songs and chants like "Boil that dustpeck..."
Is that the version of Horton that is on this?

5 comments about Halloween 4 - The Return of Michael Myers (Divimax Edition).
- What does a horror icon, a bunch of shotgun loving red-necks, and a crazy doctor all have in common, A fun movie called Halloween 4. Michael is back and is scary as ever. He has escaped, once again, and he is heading back home. Loomis is also still alive from Halloween 2, and is right on Michael's tail. Loomis fears Michael will find Laurie's daughter, Jamie. It's a fun movie and does have it's scares.
- It's about time that they finally got around to making a HALLOWEEN IV resurrecting Michael Myers from Halloween I and II.
This was a great Halloween addition and Michael Myers mask was a little more sophisticated as well as creepy and ghoulish, but Michael wasn't as spooky or as sneaky as he was in the first 2 Halloweens, since Michael didn't do his heavy breathing the way he did in both Halloween 2 and the original, plus the music score in Halloween 4 wasn't quite as good nor as creepy as the music scores used in both the original and Halloween II. On the other hand, Halloween IV made a great resurrection by bringing Michael Myers back in 1988 after Halloween III: Season Of The Witch bombed at the box office back in 1982 along with the fact that me and a lot of other Halloween fanatics had wished for Michael Myers to come back as well as another Halloween addition to the Halloween saga to plot a revenge on his hometown(Haddonfield, IL) after 10 years trying to repeat the same damage and ordeal he caused in 1978.
It's just too bad they had taken so long to make a Halloween 4, which didn't finally come out till 6 years after the cheesy Halloween 3 came out, because between Halloween sequels that took place between the original and Halloween III, they ended up waiting 7 years to make another Halloween sequel with Michael Myers in it, since the last Halloween installation with Michael Myers prior to Halloween 4 was Halloween 2, which came out in 1981, which was a pretty long time to wait to bring back the successful character of all the Halloween movies, but I don't think director(Dwight Little) did as good of a job with Halloween IV as John Carpenter did in Halloween I and Rick Rosenthal did with Halloween II.
Therefore, I think Halloween 4 probably would've been better and quite a bit more shocking if John Carpenter had directed it, since he did a phenomenal job making Halloween I along with all the music scoring he did in both the original and Halloween 2.
Overall, Halloween IV was not a bad flick.
- The spooky atmosphere makes these films. I recommend this Film to anyone. My favourite movies are pts 1-5. Pt 1 - 3 brings me back to my youth and the DVD transfers are fine, if you are after something intelligent, this is not for you, for the films are a fun and entertaining session of good-looking horny teens getting slashed. Not great but what the hell its all popcorn stuff anyway. If anyone is interested in Halloween collectables, email taylor5821@hotmail.com
- To me Halloween four was the best of the series. What a way to reinvigorate the franchise. I watched this after recently seeing the remade Halloween, and have to say. This one is still the best.
The suspense is great as you watch Jamie try to escape from Michael Myers. Donald Pleaseance returns in his role as a driven Dr. Loomis.
I broughbt the Divimax to help comlete my collection of Halloween films, and was pleasantly surprised by the picture and sound quality. It was definately worth the price and still managed to entertain after all this time.
- After the insulting part 3, Hollyweird wised up and brought Michael back.
This was good and bad, good to have Michael back, bad because like part 2 it continues to veer further and further away from Carpenter's original vision.
Bloody, gory, a somewhat interesting story line.
I have a hard time recommending this to anyone but the most diehard Halloween fans.
If your curious though, give it a shot, you might like it better than I did.
But I though the series should have stopped with part 2 and THEN brought back with H2O.

5 comments about George Balanchine's The Nutcracker.
- I bought The Nutcracker DVD and my grandchildren loved it. We only played in five times or so and yesterday when we tried watching it, half way through it gets stuck and won't go any further. It's broken! So glad you asked me for my review because I have been trying to find a way to contact you about this problem. I really feel that I should be given a new DVD, but, again, don't know how to contact you and talk about the problem. Please refer these comments to the appropriate people. We did love it when it worked!
- If you're looking for a kid-friendly version of the Nutcracker, easy to understand and intriguing, this DVD is for you. It has mostly child dancers viewers can relate to, has unobtrusive, occasional narration to help viewers understand the plot, and is gentle in the "scary" parts. The Mouse King portion is not scary which is a concern for younger children. My four-year-old daughter who loves ballet was delighted with this DVD and I'd call it a success. Only four stars because it really doesn't appeal to adults much. If you want a companion book to help explain the story, I recommend "Nutcracker Ballet (Paperback)" by Vladimir Vagin. It follows this DVD closely. See my review with the book.
- Whats to say? Its the Nutcracker.... everyone should watch it at least once a year!
-
With over 60 reviews I doubt if this one is needed. It's too bad that some of the truely great ballets, like "Giselle" get so few reviews.
This is a well done ballet with some very good dancing even from the children. Macaulay Caulkin sometimes turns me off with that smirk of his, however. One can tell that these children are well trained, especially the Marie character.
The computer animation is also another turnoff as it lacks the spontaneity of a live performance with audience reaction. It goes down as a spectacle instead of a performance. Of course the music was delightful as usual, but the narration during the action is not needed and is detracting unless this is strictly for children, and they do not buy many ballet DVDs. If you are a parent or grandparent buy this for your children.
- This is really the best production of this ballet that I've ever seen! The costumes, staging and ballet are first rate. Macaulay Culkin is adorable as the Nutcracker Prince. It's also nice that the characters Marie and the Prince are performed by children.People with kids who like coloring pictures will be pleased to find a coloring book that is based on this production. Get this DVD, even if you have other versions.Nutcracker Ballet Coloring Book (Dover Pictorial Archives)

5 comments about Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas.
- My 3 year old watched this movie every day and sometimes several times a day during the holiday season. It has a wonderful message. This is the type of movie I can take out every holiday season and make part of her tradition.
- The is so great, my daughter loved it! I gave it to my nephew for Christmas. The best of the Mickey Christmas stories!!
- I am so glad that I found this movie so that I could buy it. My daughter has to rent this movie everytime we go to the movie store, she loves it so much! She will actually sit down and watch the movie from beginning to end and not get up which is very unusual for her. Where other movies don't seem to keep her attention the whole time, this one does. Lovely show, thank-you!
- This one isn't as good as the first one(that's why it's a four star) but it's still a must have for your collection. It's Christmas and Mickey...you really can't go wrong!
- My daughter Rylin is 18 months and she absolutely LOVES this movie!! I do too considering I love mickey and minnie. I dont know what it is about this certain movie, but her and my 4 yr. old nephew love it and have to watch it all the time!! She even does all the moves that minnie and daisy do in the first story;)

5 comments about Mrs. Doubtfire (Full-Screen Version).
- From what I can tell, this new edition included all and more of the fetures on the first DVD EXCEPT the "commentary" by Christopher Columbus. It wasn't a great commentary you could tell he wasn't actually watching the film they just overdubbed his voice saying some stuff. BUT, what reason is there to get rid of it when theyre gonna come out with this big fancy edition? Now I have to keep the stupid older disc in case i want to listen to the commentary and watch it in non anamorphic!!!
- I have always liked the movie. One line that Robin Williams has to do with not buying gribnis from my moyel. I found out what that meant today. Gribnis is pork rinds. Moyel or mohal is a Rabbi or doctor that does circumcision. I think if you like funny this is the movie.
- I purchased this movie in VCR form years ago. I wanted to get it on DVD because it was a movie I wanted to last for a long time. Love Robin Williams and Sally Field.
- This item came ontime and was in perfect condition. Just the way it should be
- Mrs. Doubtfire starring Robin Williams is pretty hilarious. This is an oldie but goodie, Williams is nearly flawless in this dual role. Not sure who cast Sally Field but she seems out of place in this comedy. Pierce Brosnan is easy on the eyes, he's still gorgeous to this day! I like this film but I've watched so much I got kind of sick of it. Good movie to watch with family and friends, enjoy!

5 comments about It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
- This is a keepsake. I've enjoyed "It's The Great Pumpkin.." for many years, tried not to miss it on TV, finally recored it on VHS, wore out that copy. Wanted a DVD to watch with my grandkids, hopefully in the near future.
- This DVD was in fine shape, it just took much longer to arrive than all of my other orders. It took almost 4 weeks to get to me.
- Bought this for a preschooler who definitely enjoyed it. I enjoyed it as much if not more than he did.
- It's quintessential Charlie Brown and Snoopy as the Red Baron is perfection. I spent years trying to tape this and finally caved and bought it!!! My daughters loved it and my granddaughter has already watched it (and a few of the other Charlie Brown classics) several times!!!! It will be enjoyed by every generation thanks to Charles Schultz.
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
- What can you say about this classic. Hearing Linus trying to convice everyone of the great pumpkin brought back some found memories of when I used to sneak and stay up past my bedtime a watch it. Charlie Brown classics are a always a sure fire hit.

5 comments about Halloween 5 - The Revenge of Michael Myers (Divimax Edition).
- This film is not the worse of the series, that is the next Halloween movie. H-5 was ok before I saw Halloween- Curse of MM, and it explained all the confusing things in H-5. Now I look at H-5 and blame it for creating the trash to come.
The film is not as bad as I am making it sound. It has it's moments of being fun mindless entertainment, but nothing ground breaking or amazing. I think the film was rushed and it shows in the movie. The guy in black running around was just stupid, and the ending sucked to this movie. That is just saying it bluntly. It will have you wondering what the hell is going on. And you discover Michael's tattoo, when did he get that? I didn't like that in the film either. It was almost like they were hinting he was in a cult... oh no...
But if you love the Halloween series, and think you will miss something if you dont see this movie, you wont. You can skip 5 and 6. Halloween Resurrection ignores 4,5,and 6 anyways. But H-5 does have it fun moments, as I said. But don't expect the first three (ignoring H-3) Halloween films.
- I was in the mood for some Slasher movies and this along with part 4 made a nice double feature. The sound and picture quality on the Divimax disc was good. There were some minor extras on the disc that I found entertaining well.
While the movie wasn't as good as part 4 was, it still managed to entertain and keep us in suspense.
- I would have to say the Halloween 5 and The curse of Michael Myers are the worst of the bunch. and as a lot of Halloween fans will say "halloween 3 does not count". That being said, I would say I enjoyed the directors commentary of Halloween 5 because it gave the director a chance to defend his choices of why he did what he did. I think it's much better than sitting through the whole movie wondering "why did they do something stupid like that". I dont agree with most of his choices but at least I understand his mind set a little better. Besides, hardcore halloween fans have to buy every Michael Myers related offering anyway so why should this one be any different than the twelve copies of the original Halloween we buy just because it comes in a different style case?
- Halloween five?
Wasn't one and two enough?
Clearly not for Hollyweird, who insists on beating the franchise to death for every last penny.
Michael survives yet again to terrorize everyone in the most gruesome fashion.
This film doesn't even resemble the original in any way and the story is getting cornier with each installment.
A psychic connection???
It reeks of desperation the Hollyweird's part for a story line of ANY kind.
And Michael getting broken out by the person in black sets up part six which is also a disaster.
For hardcore Halloween fans only.
I can't recommend this, it's just your standard blood and guts with a sorry story line.

- I always wanted the whole collection of halloween and ordering it from amazon was a great, recieved all of the movies really quick.
- Halloween II starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence picks up right where the original left off. This seuqel is a complete letdown, the actors look bored and robotic and the twist ending just about killed it for me. Stick to the original and leave this one to rot!
- I love HALLOWEEN II! I love how it takes place right after the original ended! Michael has been shot six times by Dr. Loomis, but he gets up and walks away! Loomis continues his hunt and Laurie Strode is taken to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. Michael stalks the hospital in search for Laurie. Loomis finds out something about Michael that he NEVER knew. I love the showdown at the ending with Michael, Loomis, and Laurie. HALLOWEEN II is a treat for any and all fans of HALLOWEEN, horror, and slashers!
- The horror continues and it should have ended the series after this one.
Buy you know Hollywood????????
Any chance to milk a franchise to death and they'll do it.
Is this as good as the first? No.
It's a good continuation of the first one.
The classic cast is back and the story is great.
However........... H2 starts to go in a more typical horror direction with this one and every one after it.
Less intense thriller than the first and more of a typical Hollywood bloodbath.
The intensity is lost among the increasing body count.
More blood, more gore, less brilliance.
They messed with the music too, not as scary, not as effective.
Still, a must see for fans of the original and the last decent one in the series until Halloween H20.

5 comments about The Cary Grant Box Set (Holiday / Only Angels Have Wings / The Talk of the Town / His Girl Friday / The Awful Truth).
- This was a very good buy for the money and the shipping included. I would definitely purchase from Amazon again based on this experience.
- Cary Grant, Hollywood's most charismatic leading man for 40+ years, never played a supporting role once he became a star. Here are 5 early classics from Columbia, each with its own charm, each chock full of brilliant, witty dialogue. Five stars for each of these movies. Wouldn't that rate this collection 25 stars?
- I bought this when it was $20 because of the gold box deal, and its a definitely a bargain for what you get. I have now have 2 copies of Holiday, but I couldn't pass up getting Only Angels Have Wings, The Talk of the Town, His Girl Friday, and The Awful Truth for the price. Had I bought the others individually I would have spent somewhere near $80. Plus you get a set of vintage postcards of the movies. My only problem is that the box is a little banged up, and I wish that Amazon would do a better job of taking care of the dvd sets before the send them out.
- This is a great collection. Packaged very nice, movies were in excellect condition. Buy 2, one to keep and one to give as a gift!
- This collection would have been 6 stars if "Bringing Up Baby" was in it. I loved every one of this films.

5 comments about The Santa Clause (Full Screen Special Edition).
- we all ready had this movie in VHS but wanted it in DVD. I ordered it for a good price and got it sent to me quickly. Satisfied with all!!
- I really liked this movie with Tim The Tool Man Allen. The other two Santa Clause movies he made where cornny. Just a little too much Tim and or his Fun.
- My son first saw this movie when he was 2 1/2 years old. He understands who Santa is and loves the movie. His parents do too.
- Holiday fun is apparent in this Disney film, about a struggling dad, played by Tim Allen. His father skills are less than perfect, in handling his son's care, and interests.
That all changes within in thirty minutes of the movie, as the ho ho ho's come along!
As a skinny middle aged man, and allergic to milk isn't the best Saint Nick, though his sleigh riding son, Charlie encourages him to do Santa's work.
While Charlie's dad choses to ignore the Santa experience, calling it a dream, Charlie knows otherwise. His obsession leads to troubles for dear dad. A judge prohibits him from seeing Charlie, causing some tears, and awes!
Disney films and tears are almost always one in the same.
Let's not forget the movie morphing, crazy elves, and Dad's Santa Clause! Not many kids could say they wouldn't be elated with their father's cool career, but also the not so good aspect. A small lesson for kids to realize even the coolest workplaces have their cons!
- All the Santa Clause movies are wonderful but this is how it all started with Scott Calvin and how he became Santa. Your children will love it for all the Christmas' to come.
A must own as a part of the Santa Clause trilogy.
