5 comments about Night of the Demons.
- I thought it was great when I was a kid, so i recently purchased this film hoping for the same affect! Needless to say, it didn't happen. The acting was cheesey and it was painful to sit through.
- Yes,I had this movie on tape when I was younger,I havent seen it in awhile, but from what I remember it was REALLY SCARY,yeah moms dont even like me mentioning this movie...if you havent already seen it just sit back...at night and watch,DONT WATCH ALONE...horror movies should be watched at night thats how I like it.
- I remember watching this film when I was a 8 years kid, I was so terrified, I didn't want to go to the bath alone! You can't compare it with recent horrors films, BUT if you grew up watching killers and blood you'll remember this one forever. Now it is not scary, but don't tell me that when you saw it for the 1st time you felt a strange feeling in the room at night. It's great, it's wonderful to know that it has been released in DVD format. Now, you can buy it and keep it forever! You can not loose your chance to add it to your personal collection. it's even nostalgic for me. If you're looking for good special effects then buy something like The Hills have eyes or resident evil. I'm wondering if this release has subtitles...
- Right here in this gruesomely entertaining '80s horror classic! This movie has it all-Blood, gore, T&A, demonic possession, fun characters and a KILLER plot! If any of this interests you at all, buy this unrated funhouse here, 'cause the price is right. Seriously, quit wasting time with go-nowhere, boring new "horror" movies, and check out this golden oldie. And after watching this, you'll notice this review is LOADED with puns!
- Just as Night of the Living Dead 3D made it into my worst movie list, Night of the Demons ranks as one of my favorites. It is campy and just a whole lot of fun. The make-up effects were awesome. Angela's look as a demon was creepy and I loved it! I've spent the last 38 years or so watching anything and everything horror related so when something actually has an effect on me, then in my book, it's good. I like this movie from start to finish, own it, in fact and will never tire of watching it. I highly recommend this one for any horror fan's collection.

5 comments about The Raymond Briggs' The Snowman.
- As a child I used to watch this all the time and I had not been able to find a good copy since. this video is exactly what I remember it being, I'm so happy.
- I ordered the version that this company "advertises" which has David Bowie doing an opening narrative. What I received does not have the David Bowie narrative as I ordered and paid for. I know that there are two versions of this same story - one with David Bowie and one without. I know what I ordered and what I received is not what I ordered. I just read prior comments in which fellow purchasers experienced the same issue.
I am not very happy and not going through the headache of trying to return the item and start all over again somewhere else. Just know that if you do buy this, you are purchasing the standard version, NOT the version that is advertised with David Bowie. Other than this, the story is beautiful, one of my favorites.
- Many people complained that the DVD they ordered did not include the David Bowie introduction they loved as children. Having seen both introductions, I can't really say that one is better than the other. I grew up with the Raymond Briggs introduction (which happens to be the original). I purchased the DVD here in the hopes that I would get the same "wrong" introduction so many people have complained about, and Amazon is still selling DVDs with Raymond Briggs, despite the product description. There also used to be a version of this film in which "Walking in the Air" only appeared as an instrumental in the film. Fortunately, this DVD does include Peter Auty's performance in the movie.
Two things on a technical note: the film starts with an aspect ration note: "This film has been modified from it's original version. It has been formatted to fit this screen." I'm not sure why it says that. This film has only ever been full screen (it was made for TV in 1982, so there was no widescreen audience to cater to). When you see this message, don't worry that your DVD has been modified in any way. It couldn't be any closer to the original release in 1982. Also, you might experience some trouble if you try to play the DVD on your XBox 360. The audio would not play on mine. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my XBox, or with XBoxes in general, but I tried several times, and the audio never worked on the XBox. It worked flawlessly on my DVD player and on my roommate's computer, however.
Finally, the movie; there's not much to say that hasn't already been said. It truly is a brilliant classic. The animation is amazing, the story is wonderful, and the soundtrack is incredible. This is a Christmas special you will want to watch AT LEAST once every Christmas. Don't worry about the reviews that say it has a sad ending. It's really a matter of opinion - I'd call it bittersweet. Either way, it's the best way to end the story.
- I would have given this 5 stars instead of 3, since this is one of the most desirable Christmas Specials for me to watchon Christmas Eve, but Amazon incorrectly advertises it as the David Bowie version. I've been looking everywhere for the David Bowie version and ended up buying this version twice, due to Amazon incorrectly labeling this!
- I remember seeing this movie in 2nd grade and I enjoyed it because it related to christmas season which felt really nice. So I recently bought this after I remembered the movie, watched it, and turns out I can't enjoy it, except for the music. It is just too slow for me now. I will probably give this dvd away.

5 comments about A Charlie Brown Christmas.
- A classic Charlie Brown story you need to add to your collection. Nothing else like it out there. Happy viewing!
- Very good film for children at Christmas time of our famous Charlie Brown and his particular way to live. I remember when I have watched it on TV by the first time when I was a teenager and now I'm so glad because I have this story on DVD. Don't miss it and enjoy it !
- This sure sets the mood for the rest of the holidays. What I really enjoy about this is the tunes. I bought the music CD of this show & listen to it all the time at Christmas. It's upbeat & humble at the same time. Thanks Mr. Schultz. Peace to all.
- Thank you Warner Brothers for releasing a beautiful remastered version of this classic special. I won't summarize the story as I just want to comment on the disc. The picture is incredible. It looks brand-new. The picture is sharper and the colors really stand out when compared to the previous release. The image is also no longer muddied. Warner Brothers has also fixed something that has always bothered me and I believed that it had always appeared that way. During the play rehearsal, Schroeder plays "Linus and Lucy" while everyone dances. There has always been a BAD edit in the music and it was annoying. It has now been restored! Granted, the cut was only a second, but it ruined the scene for me. This has made me very happy and I can now enjoy this scene. Anyway, I love this new remastered version. Now on to the "making of" featurette. If you own the book, then this adds nothing! It is nice to hear the story from the people who were involved but it would have been nice to see the child actors. Anyway, I highly recommend this new release. This is a definite improvement over Paramount's previous release. It is not Christmas without "A Charlie Brown Christmas."
- Warner Home Video now owns the Peanuts holiday specials, after years of ownership and video releases by Paramount. And it will sell - it's a perennial Christmas classic, and deserves every accolade. But...something is missing...
The original sponsor of this special was Coca-Cola, and, like many television programs and specials of the time, had sponsor bumpers in the program. Linus crashed into a "sponsored by Coca-Cola" sign, slingshotted his blanket at Coke cans, and the end credits wished us all a "Merry Christmas from your Coca-Cola bottlers". Due to broadcast regulation changes, children's programming could no longer include direct sponsoring, and the Coke references disappeared forever after the original broadcast. Therefore, unless somebody wants to pay Coca-Cola a huge amount of money, you will never see these portions, either restored or as extras for a true collector's edition. If you own a Paramount copy, don't worry about updating your disc.
Oh, and the greatest Peanuts holiday special is coupled with the very worst Peanuts holiday special - it has never aired on network television outside of its original broadcast. The more you know...
A great special, but somebody needs to step up and do this program up in a true collector's edition.

5 comments about The Polar Express (Widescreen Edition).
- First off my rating of four stars is for the film itself and the current Blu Ray(which i do not own but rented)
Warner Bros just announced that on October 28 they will be rereleasing polar Express in 3D with four 3D glasses.
I wonder when it would pop up on Amazon?
- I saw this movie in the theater with my granddaughter. We were both enthralled with the story and the excellent animation. I feel it will become a staple for the season and a classic on a par with Wizard of Oz.
I had to have it in my movie collection.
- "The Polar Express" is based on the classic picture book by Chris Van Allsburg, and brought to the screen through the magic of computer animation. The movie is a huge spectacle of wondrous imagery. All this surrounds the story of a skeptical young boy who takes a Christmas Eve ride on the Polar Express, in attempt to convince himself that Santa Claus is real. Tom Hanks is the star, providing the performance of several characters, including the stoic Conductor, who plays it strict in one instance, then endearing in the next. Much has been made of the liberties taken with the original story. This is just a case of having to stretch a simple story into feature length. But a lot of added sequences are enjoyable and breathtaking, including the snappy "Hot Chocolate" number. You can expect this to be a new holiday classic that will be remembered for years!
- A great movie for all ages. It's a story of faith and believing, and it is done well. I actually bought it for my 3 year old grandson. He loves the movie, and so does his Pop Pop!
- Cute movie. Tom Hanks should be in more animated movies. My niece loves it. :)

5 comments about Christmas in Connecticut.
- This movie is a Christmas "must watch" along with the usual suspects. It's light, funny and shows a different side of Barbara Stanwyck.
- This has been my favorite holiday movie for a long, long time. I think one of the main reasons is the time-frame. I adore anything from the 40's. The story revolves around an accomplished and much-loved magazine writer who pretends to write about her life on a farm in Connecticut. Enter one returing WWII hero and her boss and you have the makings of Christmas chaos and romantic fun that never ends! A joy to watch for the whole family.
- Someone just told me about this movie, right after I mentioned that my name was Elizabeth Lane and I work in publishing. I can't wait to see it -- it sounds like a fun classic! All the great reviews here make the movie sound unbeatable.
- I watch this every Christmas. This is one of my favorite Christmas shows. It is fun and light hearted.
- Our whole family loves this movie. Barbara Stanwyck plays a writer who pretends to be married with a baby and pretends she's an expert at cooking, sewing, and overall home-making. Her boss decides that she should have a recovering military man to her country home (which she doesn't have) for Christmas so he can experience cozy home-life over the holidays. Then, her boss manages to invite himself along, too! She feels sure she's just lost her job and this will be the worst Christmas ever.... but a male friend of hers (who has been pestering her to marry him for a while) convinces her to marry him and they can have everyone to HIS home in the country. Of course, she doesn't love him.... and she ends up in love with the military man.... It's one problem after another, making this movie a real hoot!

5 comments about Halloween III - Season Of The Witch.
- John Carpenter tried to extend the HALLOWEEN franchise with this 1982 entry, released, of course, just days before the holiday. His friend Tommy Lee Wallace, who had acted as Production Designer and Editor on both the original HALLOWEEN and THE FOG, made his directorial bow with this film. The original story was written by the great Nigel Kneale, creator of Professor Quatermass, but Kneale had his name removed from the credits when Wallace re-, re-, and then re-rewrote his script. It would have been lovely to see what SEASON OF THE WITCH would have been like with Kneale's original story. In any case, Wallace's version of the story is very much a Fifties-style horror/sci-fi film, with mysterious goings on in an isolated Southern California town (a la INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS), a terrible computer-age secret which is obligingly explained by the villain (wonderfully played by veteran character actor Dan O'Herlihy), a lead performer who is not your usual hero (TV character actor Tom Atkins), a damsel in distress (Stacey Nelkin, ditto, TV), and plenty of available victims for the baddies to dispatch in creative ways.
The very atmospheric cinematography in Anamorphic 2:35 to 1 Widescreen is by Carpenter stalwart Dean Cundey, who has also lensed JURASSIC PARK, all three BACK TO THE FUTURE films, WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT and ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL along with about 65 other films and TV shows. He and Carpenter support Wallace at every turn, making SEASON much better than the usual debut Director feature. And, even though the film had a microscopic budget (courtesy of Universal), the clever use of color, light, shade and available props and standing sets give the film the look of a moderately budgeted feature. Special makeup (by Oscar and Emmy nominated wizard Tom Burman) and effects are used sparingly and judiciously for maximum impact.
The music, surprise surprise, is by John Carpenter and Alan Howarth (and there was even a soundtrack elpee on genuine vinyl, which did contain that "Silver Shamrock" commercial that will bore into your brain by the end of the movie. The music was also reissued on CD on Varese Sarabande, now out of print, but re-reissued on Alan Howarth's own label with 13 bonus tracks, in a limited edition of 1000 (and you can still get it, as of this writing, July 2008, right here on Amazon!)
If you are looking for the further adventures of Michael Myers, you won't find them in SEASON. At the time of release, Carpenter said he hoped that he could start a tradition of a different "Halloween" film every year. SEASON failed miserably at the box office, mainly because, despite the television and print advertising, the public expected The Shape. Too bad.
The DVD edition of SEASON is available in a stand-alone as well as in a double-feature pack with HALLOWEEN 2. Both versions are through Universal. The DVD is in full 2:35 to 1 Widescreen, but has no bonus features, not even the trailer. Darn.
So, if you are in the mood for witches and warlocks and things that go "misfire" in the night, try HALLOWEEN 3: SEASON OF THE WITCH. And if you want to know what I mean by "misfire", you'll just have to watch the movie. Closely. Heh, heh, heh. . .
- This is one of the worst movie I have ever seen. It's not even a horror movie, in the true sense. The first two Halloween movies were very good and I expected the same out of the next one when I bought it. To find out that it has nothing to do with the other movies, in fact, it shows the first Halloween movie on the television as an actual film and not something that would have happened, as a sequel should be. This is more like some cheesy, stupid, 80's sci-fi movie and should not even have the Halloween name. If you have this movie, you should burn it and if you don't, don't ever see it or even waste money on buying it (like I made the mistake of). It really sucks!
- I don't know why people don't like this one. I know Michael Myers wasn't in it and they needed something new. You hate it as a Halloween Film, but would you like it if it was just 'Season of the Witch'?
My Review May Contain Spoilers: PLOT:
This film begins with an old man running from these weird agents, a gas station clerk takes him to a hospital.
Dr. Challis ( Atkins ) returns to his ex-wifes house with masks for his children. The children tell their father that they have received 'Silver Shamrock' masks. The children turn on the TV and watch the silver shamrock commercial.
Challis goes to the hospital to see whats up with the old man the clerk brought in. After giving the man treatment, the man sees the Silver Shamrock commercial on a TV. He then makes a mental scene that "their gonna kill us a''!"
After a nurse puts him in a room, an agent walks in and pulls the mans skull apart.
When the nurse sees the body, she beggs Challis to chase the man who killed him. The agent that killed him exploded himself in the parking lot to avoid being caught.
The police then investigate the two murders. The next day, the mans daughter Ellie comes in to view of the death of her father. Ellie then brings Challis to the toy shop her father owned and shows her these records of where her father was seen at.
The go to the Shamrock Mask Factory to see if he stopped there. The rent a motel with a woman named Marge, and a very weird motel owner.
While Challis is walking alone, an RV pulls right in front of him and almost drops a childs bike on him. The father apologizes about it, ( as the son asks " Is it busted!?" ). They introduce themselves to be The Kuper Family, Buddy ( Ralph Strait ), The Wife, and their son
"Little" Buddy Jr. ( Brad Schacter ).
Later that night, Challis runs into a man who is living in a trailer besides the motel. He tells Challis about how he hates Conal Cochran ( The owner of the mask factory ) and the masks. Cochran has camera in everybodys house, motel room, every street, and microphones on everybody so he can listen in on them.
Hearing the man sware about him, Cochran sends out more agents to kill the man. The mindless agents pull the mans head right off with their bare hands. ( Challis or Ellie not hearing it ).
Ellie is talking with Marge, who has a Silver Shamrock mask for her son. She notices that a microchip has falling off the back ( asumming it is the tag ), later that night, Marge sees the chip on the floor and starts poking it to see what it is......
A lazer beam shoots right out of the chip at Marge. Ellie hearing it but Challis not. Then it cuts back into Marges room and we can see that her mouth in slahsed out, with blood spirting out, and insects crawling out........
When Challis and Ellie wake up, they see that Conal Cochran, has placed her inside of the factory where "she'll get the best treatment". Cochran the gets back into his limo and drives away along with the ambulance.
Challis and Ellie take a tour of the Silver Shamrock factory with the Kupfer family. ( Buddy insists that Ellie and Challis come ). When they reach the latex room, Little Buddy Jr. tells Cochran he would like a mask.
An agent working at the factory gives Little Buddy a brand new, unopened mask in the form of a jack-o-lantern. Cochran then exclaims, now the final process is to come in an evil voice.
Buddy ( senior ) asks him what the final process was and Cochran just changed the subject.
Buddy Senior and Challis are talking about what all stuff Cochran has done with his factory. Ellie and the wife are talking about how her husband was the best mask salesman Cochran ever had.
As they are leaving, Ellie sees her fathers car in a chop shop garage with a bunch of agents around it. That night, Ellie insists on leaving. Challis goes to checkout of the motel and when he comes back, finds that Ellie has been kidnapped by the factory workers.
He then goes to the factory and then then is severly beaten by an agent, but when Challis knocks the agent out, he finds out that all the factory workers are robots. He then is abducted by Cochran, Cochran tells his what his master plan is, and then he demonstrates what it is, with the Kupfer family.
He plans to kill every kid wearing a halloween shamrock mask with the TV. As the Shamrock commercial plays, it will kill any child that is watching through-out the world.
The Kupfer family is locked in a testing room. ( Test Room A ) The commercial then rolls, Little Buddy Jr. puts o his jack-o-lantern mask and watches the commercial, while the parents are joking off, the microchip on the back of the mask activates and his melts the childs head within the mask.
The parents then see their son laying on the ground with a mutated head, and the wife faints, streaming snakes & insects come out of Little Buddy Jr.'s and the wifes head, the father is killed by getting bitten by a snake. The whole family lies there dead, with horrified Challis watching.
The commercial then stops and Cochran shows Challis were he has hidden Ellie. Challis is givin a Silver Shamrock mask and tied to a chair in front of the TV so he will also get killed by the commercial.
After Cochran leaves, Challis kicks the TV screen until it explodes. He uses the glass to break free. He puts the mask over the security camera and crawls out through the vent. An agent notices hes gone.
He then goes to save Ellie and to escape. They go up to the catwalks on the ceiling of the factory. They take a box of microchips and all the lazers from the chips murder all of the factory workers / agents.
The flashing commercial on the TV does no good with Cochran, after a lazer beam forms from all of the TVs, the light bounces off of a giant mirror and strikes the room, murdering Cochran. The factory bunrs to a crisp.
Challis and Ellie now have to warn America about the mask, driving home, Ellie attacks Challis almost killing him, Finding out that Ellie was on Cochrans side, he then decapitates her, and slaughters all of her ramining body.
He runs all of the way to the gas station were the old man came and he rushes inside and uses the phone. He calls the FCC to tells them to stop the commercial.
Some kids go to the gas station for candy, two of the three channels are shut down. The commercial rolls on the last channel, the station fails to take down the commercial, Challis violently yells ( STOP IT! ) in the phone and then the screen goes black, and all the children are implied to be dead.
- People I love the Halloween series. The SHape ( Michael Myers) is my fav. horror movie icon. But I have to address this..Part 3 is not a bad movie. Not great but not bad either. It has a great musical score on par with Halloween and Halloween 2 score. It has some memorable and creepy moments. Its a movie you have to view with an open mind.
- Well, it has nothing to do with the rest of the Halloween films, and there's no witch involved, but if you can overlook those rather large failings, this is an almost adequate film. The creators of Halloween tried to take the series in a different direction with this film, and it almost sort of kind of doesn't work. Though the protagonists, an aging "Joe 6-pack" divorcee doctor and his jail bait girlfriend on the side from his girlfriend on the side from his ex wife who is only having crazy sex escapades with him because he's helping her solve the death of her father whom she forgets to morn after roughly five minutes of film, are anything but likable, the film almost holds together for a while. It's not of the same genre as the previous films, indulging in only one brief slasher scene, but its far out and mysterious premise is actually quite engaging for a time. The plot, involving a conspiracy of robots and ancient druid wizardry, actually works decently for much of the film, almost like an unnecessarily long but intriguing Twilight Zone episode, only glued together with a healthy suspension of disbelief. Heck, it even manages to explore the significance of Halloween in a way that nearly earns it a place in the franchise, but the ending falls apart badly. As soon as we hit the climax, nothing makes sense anymore and, quite soon after, everything just gets plain silly. Dr. 6-Pack's battle with the annihilated robot's severed limbs would have worked much better with Bruce Campbell playing the role. So, all in all, it was kind of sort of not really but almost a decent film. Oh well.

- This movie is great just to see the cars and the chase. I won't even compair this movie to the original because there is no compairison.
- Gone in 60 Seconds
Usually I am not the type of guy that loves car movies, but I love this movie. The car action is good for the most part. The scenes that are meant to garner emotion do it well. The music on this movie is perfectly done. This movie was just brilliantly put together.
Kip Raines and his crew go on a boost (high profile car theft) for 50 cars and fail miserably. Kip's old brother, Memphis Raines, is contacted about Kip's failure. Memphis soon learns that they are going to kill Kip if Memphis can't get the cars in 3 days. So on the first day he assembles a small crew of men, and a woman, to help him steal 50 cars. On the second day they find out where all the cars are. On the third and final night they are going to steal all 50 cars. You are on the edge of your seat all the time. Memphis is unsure if they are even going to make it. That is different then most movies where they are trying to be positive.
The entire time this is going on, there is a timer that keeps appearing at the bottom of the screen. It is a count down until they are out of time. Kip is played to perfection with a combination of being scared, but still wanting to help. There are so many different stories going on in this movie, and it works very well. You see why Memphis left his brother, which is really tear jerking.
One gripe I have with the entire movie is a ridiculous jump sequence. The entire movie looks fairly realistic, but near the end of the movie they added an extremely fake looking jump sequence. All the events leading up to that moment are great, but the jump is just too fake. That is the only thing that knocks this down to four stars.
- It was a few years after watching the remake of Gone in 60 Seconds before I learned that it was even a remake at all. Watching the original was pretty cool because they had similar scenes. What was even better though was the chase scene with Eleanor, a Mustang Mach I, and it lasted waaaay longer than the one with Nic Cage. If you love cars, then you have to have this movie
- Yes, this movie went out of my memory 60 seconds after I watched it. There are nothing interesting in the plot, acting and car scenes.
- The DVD's I ordered have been great. And you cannot beat the price. Thanks.

5 comments about Fred Claus.
- This movie was seen by my 7 and 5 year old grandsons and myself. They both enjoyed the entire film (as I did). They both also got the object lesson! Families aren't perfect, don't always get along, have issues, but in the end they stick together. They talked about how Fred and Nicholas treated each other for two days after, and what was right and what was wrong. It may not be a classic, but these two little boys got it! If you have sibling rivalry between younger children. Take them.
- I read many reviews from both Amazon and other print sources and the overwhelming reaction to Fred Claus was one of disappointment and worse. This won't be the first nor last time I am glad I looked into something for myself instead of trusting others. I don't know if it is my own sordid, pathetic personal life history or what, but this movie touched me and I left the movie emotionally moved and struck by how something advertised as your typical holiday comedy fare (read: stupid and infantile) could have delivered such a blow to my heart.
Vince Vaughn, who is the Bill Murray of his generation, delivers an endearing performance, Paul Giamatti is, as always, brilliant, and the rest of the cast is very good. The plot is simple enough but the undercurrent of family relationships and how they can influence people throughout their life hit me hard. One last positive - the soundtrack is a wonderful mix of seasonal favorites old and new with the bonus of a haunting Silent Night by Sinead O'Connor (which just sent me over the teary edge) and the Over the Rainbow/Wonderful World medley by the Hawaiian singer whose name I can neither remember nor spell.
Fred Claus will not make you throw out It's A Wonderful Life or even Rudolph the Reindeer, but it is heartwarming and deserves to be judged before dismissed as yet another warmed over holiday leftover.
- For the month or so as well as the past year or two, Hollywood has been releasing a string of disappointing or downright bad Christmas movies (The Golden Compass, Happy Feet, Deck the Halls). Thankfully, Fred Claus was a pleasant surprise.
I agree with some of the reviews. This is not the funniest Christmas movie that I have seen. Then again, it does not really need to be. Vaughn is funny overall. He was funnier than he was in 'The Break-Up' (not hard to do). It is generally a good story with a fair amount of good laughs along with a good, semi-touching story.
The other thing I do when I see a Christmas movie is ask "Do I want to add this to my movie collection when it comes out on DVD?" My answer is definitely yes.
In summary, it is fairly good movie. It is worth seeing. You decide after that if it is good enough to add to the home Christmas movie collection.
- How hard is it to write a watchable film with Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti and Kevin Spacey? Apparently VERY difficult for the writers here.
I still have no idea how Santa is younger and looks 20 years older than Vince (who plays the BIG brother). I must have missed that part of the story but in reality, it really didn't matter. Many scenes seemed out of place and contrived; the kind of "funny notion" scenes that are drug out WAY too far to where any sense of comedy is lost.
The director/producer tried to go "tear jerker" at the end, which would have been suitable if ANYTHING leading up that point had been worth following.
Ugh, major disappointment. I can see how some people might enjoy this OK, since many people will take any garbage they're fed, but I would strongly encourage waiting for DVD on this one. NOT worth the $23,978 it takes to get your family to the movies these days.

i have to say, i'm surprised by the just awful reviews this movie got.
i'm not a film critic, by any stretch, but i think that this is the perfect example of people expecting too much from a film.
this is a fun, family style, christmas movie with enough humor for the adults to have a good time, too. i enjoyed all the actors, by and large, and thought they were having a good time, which maybe was what helped me enjoy it so much. i mean, how can you not like vince vaughn's smarmy bulls***??? ok, i know a lot of people who don't - but then you're not gonna like it anyway! if you do like vaughn, this is him but PG style.
if you're going in expecting It's a Wonderful Life, you're going to be disappointed. if you go in hoping it's better than Saving Christmas, you'll be stoked, cos it is.
