5 comments about Halloween 4 - The Return of Michael Myers.
- To me Halloween four was the best of the series. What a way to reinvigorate the franchise. I watched this after recently seeing the remade Halloween, and have to say. This one is still the best.
The suspense is great as you watch Jamie try to escape from Michael Myers. Donald Pleaseance returns in his role as a driven Dr. Loomis.
I broughbt the Divimax to help comlete my collection of Halloween films, and was pleasantly surprised by the picture and sound quality. It was definately worth the price and still managed to entertain after all this time.
- After the insulting part 3, Hollyweird wised up and brought Michael back.
This was good and bad, good to have Michael back, bad because like part 2 it continues to veer further and further away from Carpenter's original vision.
Bloody, gory, a somewhat interesting story line.
I have a hard time recommending this to anyone but the most diehard Halloween fans.
If your curious though, give it a shot, you might like it better than I did.
But I though the series should have stopped with part 2 and THEN brought back with H2O.
- The Halloween series should've ended with Halloween III. The fourth in the series opens the door to make lots of cash for the creators and do absoultely nothing for the art of film making. Michael Myers died at the end of Halloween II after being shot in the eyes by Laurie, blinding him permanately yet he still manages to go on a killing spree and murder a dozen people. Made with no talent or imagination. John Carpenter and Debra Hill got out while the going was good. They had brains, unlike the audience that this, and the continuing sequels were made for.
- Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers is an okay sequel but nothing special. Michael Myers sister has died and now he's after Jamie played great by Dainelle Harris. Dwight H. Little has crafted a film with good camera work but the scares are little & few and the ending is choppy.
- IF YOU ARE A TRUE FAN OF HALLOWEEN YOU WOULD LIKE THEM ALL. EVERY HALLOWEEN MOVIE GETS 5 STARS! EVEN HALLOWEEN 3! VERY GOOD MOVIES! IF YOU ARE A TRUE HALOOWEEN FAN YOU WOULD LIKE THEM ALL! I DO!

5 comments about The Man Show: Girls on Trampolines.
- The other reviewers are right about this being nearly as mindless as is possible- and the music and ridiculously fake and repetitive sound effects (of girls squeaking and exclaiming) may drive you insane, but here's what they forgot to tell you; in nearly half of the trampoline scenes, one or more of these hot chicks are topless. Which alone makes it worth the price of admission, trust me. This is total, gratuitous eye candy that may lead to eye and neck exhaustion as you follow these hotties bodies up, and down, and up...
- I loved it. It is just what the title states, 'Girls on Trampolines!' But there is alot of bare breasts on be seen! And the girls are beautiful. A great buy!!
- Yes, it is great they get topless and they jump around in sexy lingerie but you can only stand so much of it at one sittin, the first night i got through 10 minutes and had to shut it off and the next night i got through another 12 minutes, i might finish the whole 90 minutes some day.
- What's not to love? Stripping juggies bouncing for our adult viewing pleasure. As far as those who critisize the background sounds- I just have one question... who cares? You got mostly naked bare breasted chicks jumping up and down on trampolines!!! That's a 5 star rating right there all by itself!
- "Girls on Trampolines" could have been fun, if the picture quality was good enough for you to see something. Alas, it is not. Either the camera used to shoot the footage wasn't up to the task, or this DVD is compressed poorly at a really low bit rate. Either way, most of the video is simply one giant blur. Every now & then you can see something clear -- like hair when a girl pauses briefly at the bottom of a jump, or legs when a girl pauses briefly at the top of a jump. Everything in between is simply a smear.
Save your money.

5 comments about Richie Rich's Christmas Wish.
- The last Richie Rich topped this one, but this one is pretty good. David Gallagher was probably as good as a replacement you could have gotten for Macullay Culkin. This movie has great actors that added major points like David, Jake Richardson and Michelle Tractenberg. Its a good kids holiday movie.
- In December, I am a pushover for movies that have something to do with Christmas. I am sad to say that this was almost a complete waste of time. The plot is to old, and the story is quite thin. The ending does not even carry much weight. The only thing that saves this from being a complete disaster is that there are some comical moments, as well as some interesting interaction amongst the characters. Don't cut into your Christmas Preperation time for this one.
- Though not anywhere near as good or as affective.
The story is a little different, but much the same. Richie Rich wishes that he was never born and it comes true, not by an angel though, but by a wish machine. And then realizes how wonderfull life reall is... Also things that make this movie not so good is the fact that it has cheezy dialogue(even for a G rating, they could have got better dialogue),bad effects, and a mediocre take on "Its a Wonderfull Life" chances are children will like this playfull romp. If they can't sit through and appreciate "Its a wonderfull Life" maybe they'll appreciate this, even if you can't. God Bless ~Amy
- My family and i have enjoyed Richie rich's x-mas wish since it came out. It is a great holiday experience for the whole entire family. And David Gallagher and Michelle Tractenberg couldnt have been better. I enjoyed this movie and hope other have or will enjoy it too!!
- Richie Rich's Christmas Wish is a great movie. I really enjoyed it as it kept me entertained while I had the flu. I was laughing in alot of parts and it has a very interesting plot. It is true as one reviewer said, this movie in a way symbolizes Its a Wonderful Life but I enjoyed this one more because I cant stand sitting down to watch a Black and White film that was made in like the prehistoric years! I like this 7th Heaven dude better than the Home Alone dude because he fits the role of Richie Rich better. I recommend you to watch it. I watched it the other day on national television. It rocks!

5 comments about The Little Drummer Boy.
- This is one of the classics forever during the holidays, generations to come will enjoy it and love it, teaches how senseless hate can be and love is always stronger, besides the song is really heart warming.
- When I heard that the Little Drummer Boy was once again going to be re-released on DVD I was ecstatic since I thought we'd finally get a trluy restored version to replace my old DVD which had the picture quality of a worn out VHS tape. But, once again, we're given a sub-par print with dark, grainy imagery and scratches. This is nothing more than the same repackaged junk that already existed! I understand it's quite possible that no better prints exist, but if that's the case then the state of affairs on this terribly neglected classic is even grimmer than imagined. Own it if you've no other choice but this is a shame. I give it a 5 for content and less than zero for quality.
- I am very happy with this DVD, and with the Amazon's service. I bought this movie because I looked for this in local stores or rent with no succes, But although I live in Costa Rica Amazon did possible that I can to see again this beautiful history (that it has not been possible to see on TV for 20 years), at only 3 shipping weeks and before christmas. The history contains a beautiful scenes and a important and positive education for the family, remembering the real sense of Christmas.
- Loved the Christmas TV special "The Little Drummer Boy" as a child, so I thought I'd order it. Having watched it for the first time in about 35 years, it no longer measures up (with the exception of the nativity scene) to such greats as Mr. Magoo's "A Christmas Carol" or "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Generally a big bore, although the Vienna Choir Boys still inspire.
- I had a lot of time without watch this great movie. I am glad to watch it

5 comments about Halloween : Extended Edition.
- This film is often hailed as Carpenter's masterpiece. Though it isn't (that would be Assault on Precinct 13), it is, nevertheless, one of the greatest slasher films ever made. People also often wrongly state that Halloween is the first slasher film ever made. Not so. There were many Italian slashers before it, including The Bird with the Crystal Plumage and Twitch of the Death Nerve.
The mood and pacing of this film are nearly flawless. The soundtrack is classic. What many don't know is that Carpenter based the theme song to Halloween off of Goblin's theme song from Argento's Deep Red, which was in turn inspired by Tubular Bells from Friedkin's The Exorcist. Though the film takes place in Illinois, it was filmed in California, as evidenced by the trunks of palm trees seen in people's front yards. Further, though the film is set in the fall, it was filmed during springtime. Carpenter had a bunch of fake dead leaves that they would throw in the front yard of the house they were filming at. When they switched houses they would have to gather up all the fake leaves and move them!
By the way, the mask that Michael Myers wears was a William Shatner mask that they somewhat altered. Shatner has since said that he does not appreciate being referred to as "evil incarnate." The crew of the film referred to Myers as "The Shape," implying that he is, as implied in the films, a supernatural force and not a human being.
- Thirty years later and this horror classic is still as scary as ever. In the Hollywood horror genre today over-run with blood and gore, it is refreshing to take a break and return to the old school when horror films where truly (and still can be) scary. There are many devices that has made Halloween a success. Number one is Michael Myers, perhaps one of the most memorable horror villains of all time. There is no motive for his actions. He seems to kill without cause - an emotion-less villain who has never spoken a word almost his entire life. One moment he appears out of nowhere, glaring from a distance, and the next moment, he's gone. No matter how fast his victims run, Michael is always right behind, ready to make the kill, stabbing his victims with his trademark kitchen knife.
Audio is one of the most important elements that can determine the success of a horror film, and above all else, John Carpenter's Halloween theme sets the tone all too well. Even at the opening credits the theme begins, instantly placing the viewer into a creepy horror state of mind. Slight variations of this simple theme are constant throughout the film, adding tension and suspense, and progressing scenes along nicely that might have seemed longer otherwise.
The usual weak dialouge and acting are certainly present here, as in most horror films, but I can't say it takes away from the fun, as it is to be expected (especially from a film made 30 years ago). Jamie Lee Curis does a memorable enough performance as her charcater Laurie, the babysitter who Michael has targeted on Halloween. Donal Pleasance does a decent job as Dr. Loomis, a man who basically becomes obsessed (and has every right to) on taking down Michael Myers. The remainder of the cast is unimpressive, but serve up well as Michael's victims.
Halloween has spawned off 7 sequals and even a recent remake. Though they don't match up to this original, it says enough that Halloween has become a popular sucess. I wish I could say for a movie that is 30 years old, it might be difficult for first time viewers today to appreciate, but the fact remains that this is from a different era of horror, a time when good horror films presented us with "less is more" Halloween is the perfect demonstration. There is less blood, less gore, less violence, and we know almost nothing of Michael's background, and the end result can be truly scary when we are not given details and must deal with the unknown.
Acting - 2.5
Characters - 4
Horror - 4.5
Music - 5
Story - 4
Overall - 4.5
- I grew up with this film in its various incarnations on home video. And, yes, i probably own it in practically every format. But this version really packs a punch. It is really spectacular to see the crisp images from such a gritty film. You would never know this movie is now 30 years old by the Blu-ray transfer. The only element that was somewhat disappointing is that I noticed the audio dropping out occasionally, probably due to imperfections from the original mono source. Otherwise, you will find new details in this film that you never noticed before on this great hi-def version!!!
- You cant beat the original Halloween! It is fantastic, has a wonderful theme song that gets stuck in your head! Watch this classic horror film with Jamie Lee Curtis in it!
- Guess, I'll finally weigh in on this one. Halloween is a perfect product of it's time and the fact that it was actually scary allows it to continue to live on all these years later. The cast is perfectly awkward, the scares numerous, the soundtrack exceptional, and the nostalgia brilliant. Every year, after we've killed -- er, I mean fed --the last trick-or-treaters, we settle in for this fabulous, low-budget gem. It deserves it's status among fright films.

5 comments about Recess Christmas - Miracle on Third Street.
- I wish I had read everyone elses' reviews before buying this. I saw the dvd out and was so excited about getting it for Christmas. As soon as it started I knew it was going to be "flashbacks" of episodes that were already on TV. And none of them had anything to do with Christmas. The only bonus on the DVD was the reports done by Gus, Spenelli and Mickey (I love Mickey). They were very funny but not worth the money.
- This is a fun Christmas tape for fans of Recess. I think the last story featuring James Earl Jones as Santa was quite touching and funny. At least one other reviewer, who said there was "no Christmas content" on the tape, must not have actually watched it. I guess technically some of the material comes from the episodes they have produced but unless your child has taped every episode this is unlikely to be redundant in your collection.
- Then make your children watch this movie . The last segment of this movie will forever alter your child's perception of Santa's existence . If you want to treasure the last few years of your child's innocence ,then protect them from watching Recess Christmas. I found the movie entertaining , but the way they presented the doubt about Santa really caused problems for my 5 year old.... We watched the movie last night and today my 5 year old is still asking questions. Should have carried a warning for parents.
- I loved this movie it was very funny and entertaining.
- "Recess-School's Out" was really pretty awesome, & although I never saw the Christmas version, I'll bet that it was also very charming, in a sense.-Earl

1 comments about Christmas Holiday.
- Christmas Holiday is very different from the musical you would think Deanna Durbin and Gene Kelly would make together. It is in a completely different genre. This film is definitely part of the film noir genre, a dark film told mostly in flashback by imperfect characters. The title comes from the man being told the story. A soldier is on leave and gets stranded going to San Francisco in Louisiana. There, he meets a nightclub singer named Jackie (Durbin), a seductive woman with many layers and a story to tell. She gets to talking to him and relays the story of her life. Her name is really Abigail; she changed it to escape her past. She is married to a murderer (Kelly), a man she still loves despite his crime.
Durbin is breathtakingly gorgeous here in a mature role that allows her to be emotional in a way that her breezy musicals never allowed. It makes one wonder why she never made more films like it. She does however sing a few songs, most notably the lovers theme, "Always." Kelly is also impressive as a complicated villain, a man one wants to protect, love, and yet fear all at the same time.
Unfortunately, this film is only available through bootlegged versions recorded from rare TV broadcasts. Hopefully, because of the star power involved, it will be released on DVD.

- a great night for the family to spend together. Not too many films today can be viewed by the entire family. This one is. It reminds of the movies we watched as children with our parents. you will love it.
- In spite of all the cheese, I could not stop watching it when it first aired. The story is very well written and sincere. It's an enjoyable family holiday flick to add to your collection!
- This movie you have to watch before the second movie of this type. (Twice Upon a Christmas) Kathy really does a great job at being Santa's daughter. Alone with the other actors/actress in the movie they all did great. We really need more movies of this type. There is NO swearing in this movie or the second one.
- It is not the story of the film that's making it a nice one, but look at its total. And its also not a Oscar winner or any other price for acting or whatever, but just a nice movie to look at on Christmas. No thinking, just watch the movie and have a nive time.
- I recommend this for your Christmas movies. I like a good assortment of movies and this one fits in perfectly.

5 comments about Spot's Magical Christmas.
- I love this video! My daughter (2yo) loves it as much as my husband and I. Spot is an adorable character. The other characters are equally loveable. The one song/dance number with the reindeer is quite amusing. My daughter always gets a laugh out of it. What most appealed to my daughter was the similarity between the video and the book, Spot's First Christmas. We've been watching the video (AND reading the book) everyday since we bought it. A must-see for any toddler!
- Based on the Spot stories by Eric Hill.Spot's Magical Christmas (1995) was an enchanted story with magnificent music and Classic Walter Disney (1901-1966) animation.Good illusrations.
- As a Spot sound book collector and one that's on the quest to watch all the Spot episodes and specials, I'd say this is by far the best Spot video of the bunch I've seen so far. And I've almost seen them all, including the only-released-in-Britain "It's Fun to Learn with Spot" series. The only one episode I haven't seen, at least not completely, is the "Spot and His Grandparents Go To the Carnival" special, which I caught only a split-second of on TV in Singapore little more than 5 years ago and got me started on this journey.
In any case, in this special, Spot meets with some reindeers who work for Santa and somehow lost the sleigh while testing it. The reindeers do the tango, Spot goes gather up his friends and go find the sleigh. Then Spot is whisked off to the North Pole, visits Santa's workshop, and then back home again.
The dialog is the most witty I've seen in the Spot series so far, and the lips of the characters actually move to reflect the speech - something that was not done before (due to the fact that in the original British airings of the series, the entire story is basically just narrated and voiced by one person. The Disney dubs of the series basically tried to add more voice variety by adding more casts, and were met with mixed results). I personally have no qualms with either format, but some people I know was put off by the fact that the lips of the characters does not move to the speech in the series, and would probably be pleased by the change in this special (the change is only temporary, tho. When Spot's Musical Adventures a.k.a Discover Spot was released, they reverted back to the old format).
All in all, it's a nice series. My copy of "Spot and His Grandparents go to the Carnival" should be in my mail anytime soon, so we can see how this one holds out to it then. Until then, I consider this one of best, if not the best, of the bunch.
Ratings: Five RAM Chips, 2 thumbs up, etc.
- I'm surprised at the rave reviews people have given the Spot Christmas video! We have them all - and this is the only one that my now 4-year-old son just walks away from! It's boring boring boring, in our opinion.
- Hi my sister veronaka loves this video and so do i we loved it so much that it might be worn out because our sisterinlauh naomi winter and wiliam have wached it a milion times also i cant count how many times we do go to our mothers house or our aunt dawns house amd she lives near us Naomi's mom lives far away from us al the way in philadelia we love this video and hope they make it on dvd so our Sharon rafertys mother just got a newboarn baby which is about a year ikd VIDEO TO NAOMIS SISTERS DEMINSTRATONS SHE LOVED IT CHRISTIAN
