5 comments about The Andy Williams Christmas Show (Live from Branson).
  1. This was a delightful Christmas special! It features most of my favorite Christmas songs, and I even heard a few new ones. It was fun to see the Osmond Brothers. Andy Williams is a true gentleman, and I really miss the days when he used to have his own show.

  2. This DVD was as expected very well done with one of our favorite singers in our age. Andy William's show is just as remembered and my wife was very happy to add to our DVD collection.

  3. We travel to Branson every Nov. just to see Andy's Christmas Show. This Live Performance is one of the best I've seen. Andy's voice is still strong and as beautiful as ever. We love watching this DVD during the Christmas season. The Osmonds are a wonderful addition and bring back such good memories of years past. Lorrie Morgan adds just the right mix of beauty and talent to the show. All in all ~~ I highly recommend this as a "Must Have" addition to your Christmas DVD collection. Whether you're an Andy Williams fan or not, I think you'll really enjoy this show. It's first class, all the way.

  4. Well, what more do I have to say...? It's Andy! Although he's a bit older from when I remember him in my childhood, he still has that smooth and distinct voice that is so recognizable to anyone who grew up watching the Andy Williams Show! Andy puts on a wonderful Christmas show in Branson where his own theater resides. I think anyone who has ever loved to watch Andy Williams when they were growing up as a child (Or Adult for that matter) will thoroughly enjoy this DVD and make it part of their collection!

  5. This is a warm and friendly performance - vintage Andy Williams. As a long time Andy Williams fan I was glad to add this DVD to my collection. Time stands still while watching Andy sing more than 25 classic holiday songs in his well renown, easy going style. The performance is complete with the Osmond Brothers joining Andy in a segment of the show. Enjoyable entertainment!

5 comments about Mickey's Magical Christmas - Snowed in at the House of Mouse.
  1. I think this is very cute. I love it. Especially the adaptaion of The Nutcracker. Great music in that segment. I love all the cartoons they show, old and new. And my day care kids love it too.

  2. excellent entertainment
disney needs to do more house of mouse dvds

  3. hello Disney Fans. I am wondering if anyone has ever seen the holiday short about Goofy learning to ski. It was a great little narrated short that I saw when I was a kid. I saw it on television way back when and it was tagged along with a couple of other holiday shorts to a broadcast of the classic "Mickey's Christmas Carol". I have been reading reviews and dvd discriptions on here for an hour and I cannot find anything that mentions this particular short. If anyone knows if it is even available on any of these disney dvd's and if so which one. Please email me and let me know, Thanks. my email address is
    ryback78@hotmail.com

  4. Hello, I am writing this because my kids love this and ask for it (specifically Mickey's version of the Nutcracker). Kids, in general, do not care about whether or not the dvd is truly feature length, they just want to watch it. This is aimed at children. I think we, as adults, would do well to follow their lead in attitudes sometimes.
The video is entertaining and has the classics characters from Disney. We as a family love Disney and this video.
    Merry Christmas!

  5. Mickeys magical christmas vcr tape was never received and and i have contacted seller twice now and nothing. i would like this taken care of either with the movie i ordered or a refund so i can order a different movie. thank you

5 comments about Sonny & Cher - The Christmas Collection.
  1. The product, the service, the speed in which I received my package. Five stars all the way around!

  2. This is a single DVD release of "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour", that contain three Christmas themed episodes. They originally aired on CBS in 1972, 1973 and 1976 respectively. The first show in 1972 has special guest William Conrad who also starred on his CBS show "Cannon" at that time, who appears in a few of the sketches, including one where he plays a street corner Santa. Another segment in this episode is a memorable animated music video part of the series where Sonny and Cher sing Three Dog Night's "Black and White" that was a hit that same year.

In 1973, William Conrad guest stars again on another Christmas show. This time, playing different characters like a vagabond visiting homes on Christmas Eve. Plus a sketch where Sonny Bono shows Conrad a fictitious Christmas album, "Sonny Bono Sings Christmas Songs". There's a lot more to see on this show too!

The most surprising episode of all, from 1976, was their 'post divorce' holiday show, appearing with their daughter Chasity and a surprise guest, Bob Keeshan as Captain Kangaroo from his daily series also airing on CBS that time. Hey! Watch where Bob Keeshan in a "Sonny's Pizza" sketch where he plays an unusual kind of angel flying over people dining alone on Christmas Eve. You'll really flip yourself over this!

You won't find a great true 1970's holiday treasure DVD like this one. Sonny and Cher's Christmas shows is a 'must have' for DVD collectors today!

  3. This is something I would only watch once. It was too repitious. Nice to see something from the past, but once is enough.

  4. A very good quality DVD apparently from the original video/film. It's interesting to see how TV productions have changed since then and how silly they are compared to now. The shows bring back memories of how Sonny and Cher came across as a decent family compared to their hippy/rockin' start and how well they seemed to get along together. It shows how they "grew up" with the rest of us. Well worth the cost for the fans and TV history collectors.

  5. We used to watch the Sonny and Chair show regularly and this was good but not as good as expected.

5 comments about Baby Looney Tunes' Eggs-Traordinary Adventure.
  1. Baby Looney Tunes is the best thing that has happened to tv since Jim Henson's Muppet Babies. What upsets me is that BLT only lasted one season. The Muppet Babies lasted 7. I love the movie especially when Daffy doesn't beleive that the Easter Bunny exists. The cutest BLT is Petunia Pig (Who is not featured in the movie but on a bonus episode on this DVD - "The Magic Of Spring." in this cartoon series, the is a new Looney Tune, Melissa. i do not remember seeing an adult Melissa. This is a must own.

  2. These cartoons are truly sickening.

Why must they spoil the greatest cartoon characters ever made and make them cute little babies? It's awful. They've destroyed every single character... from Bugs Bunny to Petunia Pig.

All the characters are annoying, but the two very worst (in my opinion) are Sylvester and Tweety. Tweety is huge. He is almost as tall as Sylvester. And for the record, Tweety is a male bird. And Sylvester is a big wimp who DOESN'T TRY TO EAT TWEETY! INSTEAD HE IS ONE OF TWEETY'S FRIENDS! I shudder even thinking about it.

The animation has absolutely no spirit. The characters are all turned 'cute' and they move slowly, with not even the slightest hint of squash and stretch.

And worst of all, the characters teach kids not to lie and it's mean to make fun of others. This is very comical, Considering all the things that they do in the original cartoons. Such as, Daffy gambling his money away, Bugs shooting a guy in the audience for coughing, Taz attempting to eat Bugs Bunny, numerous times, Sylvester telling Tweety to hide in his mouth, Granny whopping Sylvester with her umbrella and Tweety beating up a bumble bee and stuffing it in a horse costume so the two cats inside will be stung.

In all fairness, this show itself wouldn't be so bad were it not the Looney Tunes characters. It still wouldn't be good, mind you, but not terrible.

It's sad to see classic cartoons ruined like this. Watch DUCK DODGERS instead.

  3. People NEED to lighten up!!! My 20 month old daughter LOVES this show. It is a harmless, lovely cartoon that lights up my baby's face when it comes on. She loves her "Tooney Tunes' as she would say.

  4. My a lot younger sister is addicted to Baby Looney tunes. So when comparing all the kid shows, this one is definitely the dumbest. Some actually have reason, and some are actually pretty good, like Thomas the train, or some of the cartoon network shows. But one, Baby Looney tunes, a slow-paced show for very young kids, ruins and disgraces, some of Chuck Jones and Bob Clapton's classic characters. It is so idiotic, I can't listen to it, which happens because my sister puts it on so loud. Granny walks like a "hunchbutt" Tweety sounds like a girl. The characters have no clue, and it's even on Boomerang's cartoons without a clue, and in a lot of ways. The stupid writers and directors(Warner Bros.) must've made this while sleeping. Trying to make Bugs Bunny look like a cute little bunny. Just program when he said "What up Doc."
Then Granny does her stupid gardening and baking like all other grannies. This is so not educational. When do Bunny's have brownies.
    Definitely do not buy this.
Unless you have a child or sister like mine, who is really crazy and weird. I feel so sorry for her now.

Last but not least the music on this DVD and show. It's terrible, annoying, and is so repetitive. Every part of this show is annoying. When I was younger it was even hard for me to watch.
It stinks, it's horrible. People, this is classic cartoons at it's worst.

Tom chasing Jerry, a classic, Yosemitie Sam looking for some ole' rabbit, a classic, our first great talking cartoon, that should forever be remembered but now a little baby's cartoon of cute blissful made up cartoon character's a disgrace, and already been airing for over 15 years. Warner bros. should stop trying to attract kids, and let the greatest cartoon characters ever live on. Not make them foolish.

  5. Baby Looney Tunes is a cute show that children and parents alike can't help but like. This dvd is a great addition to any collection.

  2. This was purchased for my 90 year old mother in law who has severe dementia. Hearing the music and watching the show that she always loved gave her immense joy as she sang along.

  3. I can't say it was anyone's fault in particular but let me keep others from making my mistake. At the time I bought this dvd from Amazon I do not believe it said anything about being a "reunion concert."

This is a 1995 reunion dvd rather than the actual Christmas show from yester-year. If you like that sort of thing that's cool, but for myself I purchased the dvd for more of a time period nostalgic purpose and was pretty disappointed.

For those who would like a better description, the back of the dvd says:

"In the 40 year holiday tradition of the Lawrence Welk Television Show, the musical family of stars gather at the Champagne Theatre in Branson, Missouri, for an all new Christmas Reunion Concert."

    Appearances by:
    Norma Zimmer (Host)
    Fern Welk (Lawrence's wife)
The Lennon Sisters- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Jo Ann Castle- The Skater's Watz
    Jack Imel- Winter Wonderland
Mary Lou Metzger & Ken Delo- White Christmas
Tom Netherton- The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Bobby Burgess & Elaine Balden- Christmas Waltz & Jingle Bell Rock
Guy Hovis- Some Children See Him
Anacani- It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
Joe Feeney- O Holy Night & How Great Thou Art

The show was really boring to me but I couldn't drive myself to give it 1 star because I believe that fans of the show that grew up with the show would probably really enjoy it. I did give it a 3 because I felt it could have been described better than what it was at the time I bought it.

  4. My wife bought this expecting to see a vintage Lawrence Welk Christmas Show and was disappointed to find upon viewing it that it was a 1995 show done in Branson, Missouri. It had almost no actual views of the old Welk show but rather a modern somewhat Welk-like reproduction. It did have some of the performers from that show but seeing more of those old shows would have been much better.

If you wish to view Lawrence Welk himself or his original shows, do not buy this DVD. That said, many of the songs and presentations were entertaining but most not up to the best of the old Welk shows.

  5. THIS DVD WILL CURE THOSE HOLIDAY BLUES AND MAKE YOU SMILE. AN OLD FASHIONED MUSICAL CHRISTMAS WITH GREAT MUSIC, FABULOUS SINGERS, AND DANCERS. THIS ISN'T JUST ANOTHER MUSICAL PERFORMANCE. THIS SHOW WAS DESIGNED WITH WARMTH AND TALENTED INDIVIDUALS WHO LOVE WHAT THEY DO. IT IS A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF LIFE AND THAT INDESCRIBABLE FEELING KNOWN AS "THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT." WE NEED MORE SHOWS LIKE THIS TODAY. MY FAMILY WATCHES THIS DVD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

5 comments about National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2 - Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure.
  1. Plot logic strays in this sequel to a film that hasn't been made yet. Why doesn't the bathroom ever get fixed? Why does Cousin Eddie's family keep their clothes so neat and white stranded on the island? Loved the only original scene where the giant fish pulls Eddie's boat into the island. Could survive without Eric Idle getting absurdly hurt in every scene. Disliked scenes of church hymns and prayers and censored nudity to make more of a "children's film" or sitcom out of the whole thing. Has John Hughes left our planet, because if I were him, like Eddie I might sue the boss for injury, too. Hughes and Chevy, where are you?

  2. This movie sucked! I loved the original Christmas Vacation, but can not think of one positive thing to say about the second one.

  3. Don't waste your money on this sequel. It is absolutely the dumbest movie ever produced. There is not one scene that is even close to funny. The original Christmas Vacation was by far the better movie. Find something better to do with your two hours...trust me.

  4. Man how I love the Vacation movies. I love them so much that I was able to overlook all of the bad reviews this movie got and bought it anyway. Simply put, it was painful to watch and I forced myself to sit through it hoping it would get better. It really is as bad as the others say and ranks among the worst movies I've ever sat through and I'm not picky. I've turned off much better movies for being unwatchable. Made-For-TV isn't even a good excuse because it's not even good enough for that. I had hope that Cousin Eddie could salvage this mess, but he couldn't. At least in the others, the disasters were in the movie and not the movie itself. I give it one star for participation and pity only.

  5. In this Christmas Vacation, Uncle Eddy is the star of the show. Chevy Chase (Clark) doesn't appear in it one bit. Audrey does return, though. The plot is that while on a tour of an island Uncle Eddy and the gang get marooned on an island. There they have to work to survive. They need each other. It all turns out to be a pretty good film. However, this does not even compare to the other National Lampoom films. And it certainly doesn't compare to the first Christmas Vacation. Sure it does have its laughs and funny parts, but it still doesn't come close to the others.

5 comments about Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Combo HD DVD and Standard DVD) [HD DVD].
  1. I purchased this DVD for my daughter as this is her favorite movie. She had another one but wore it out by watching it so much. I looked everywhere to get her another one, but no stores carry it anymore and other online shopping sites were more expensive. Thanks Amazon!!

  2. I have seen the animated version and now real life and it is hilarious! It also is kind of different. it also tells how the Grinch was born. Cindy Lou also tries to convince the Grinch to come down to Who village to show everyone that he is not green and mean. The Grinch also has a crush on a hot girl since he was at school but she was in love with the mayor. The Grinch wants his revenge on the mayor for the Grinch shaving himself and got everybody to laugh. That is why I like this movie.

  3. jim carey does an oscar performance as the grinch. not will it only bring laughter but tears to the eyes. this is one movie you can watch anytime of the year.

  4. One of Jim Carrey's most unusual roles, but any Dr Suess fan will love this. Even Carrey's version of the unforgettable song is fabulous.

  5. I never tire of Jim Carrey. This is both a sad and happy Christmas film.
