5 comments about A Stained Glass Christmas with Heavenly Carols (Widescreen) [Blu-ray].
- I played this to get myself ready for Christmas next month and fell in love with it! I will definitely get my money's worth. The best thing about this disc is that there is an option to play a soundtrack of traditional Christmas songs or Handel's Messiah. Each song is accompanied by amazing and ultra vivid Christmas stained glass scenes. I will play this every year. A+
- I've only viewed the HD side of the disc.
Some closeups are finely detailed but overall, it does not have the crispness of, say, Planet Earth. I watched this disc on both a 65" 1080p dlp rptv and on a 106" screeen with 720p front projector.
But it is sharper than a typical sd disc and is just as sharp as many hd movies. So a 4 star for video.
It is highly recommended to play as background for a holiday party and the constant changing of images can hold your attention.
Although 5.1 DD, mostly the front 3 channels are used. Not much lower subwoofer output.
Switching between the Christmas Carols and the Messiah, the video is the same for each of them. And if you change the music selection mid disc, it resumes from the exact video point you left with the other audio. But you would be hard pressed to remember all the visiual images if you played each music track in sucession so it can play for several hours.
The audio plays fine through hdmi, 6 channel input or coaxial digital audio cable but will sputter constantly and is unlistenable through Optical digital audio. So just 2-3 stars for audio as many folks only have optical audio connection. And loses stars for not being in Dolby True HD or DTS HD formats.
It's a keeper for background Christmas celebrations or just for a tour of many beautiful pieces of religious stained glass panels.
- We are playing this disc for about 3rd time - Fantastic picture quality - music is very timely for this time of the Year. Hightly Recommended. I'll be buying another copy for my parents.
Merry Christmas.
- The glowing praise in the reviews here at Amazon were what prompted me to purchase this HD-DVD. Unfortunately, I cannot agree with it.
The majority of the "scenes" are simply photos that are panned over, not actually video. We all could just do a photo slideshow of our own Christmas photos for the same effect, but with more personality. The small amount of video that is there is shaky and not as sharp as the photos. Clearly not a professional production.
This could almost be looked over if the scenes were of some gorgeous European cathedrals, but all of the locations are in and around Chicago. Definitely not what I would consider "the world's most beautiful stained glass Nativity artwork, holiday scenery and churches". If you, like me, were hoping for shots of ancient stained glass, you won't find them here.
My last complaint is with the bible verses displayed between scenes. I found them very distracting, out of place, overly religious and preachy. Obviously a work about Christmas and art in churches is inherently religious, but I felt this was a bit over the top in execution.
The music is decent. Not fantastic, but enough to bring my score to two stars.
I cannot recommend this title.
- I purchased this for our 2007 Christmas Family Reunion. Wow! Very beautiful! As our guests arrived they were greeted with the lovely music and colorful stained glass photos. We have a 46' LCD 1080 and the blu-ray disk makes everything look so crisp, clear and colorful. It really filled the home with the TRUE meaning of Chistmas. My children who are 7 and 4 LOVED it, not to mention the guests. I highly recommed it. This will now become a family tradition.

5 comments about Rugrats Holiday Celebration (Halloween/Turkey & Mistletoe).
- It was great it had all the holiday episodes except for the jewish flood one and some extra ones totalling to 206 minutes of rugrats
- This is a great set of some of the best Rugrat shows. Fun for everyone from infant to adult. Some of the best holiday cartoons that are out there. Great explanations of Kwanzaa, and Chanukah. Hilarious Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween shows.
- MY KIDS AGES 4 AND 6YRS OLD LOVE RUGRATS.WE HAVE ALL THE RUGRATS COLLECTION IN FORM OF DVDS N VHS.ALL OF WHICH I FOUND SO INTERESTING N ADVENTUROUS.EVERY EACH OF THE RUGRATS CHARACTER IS UNIQUE.I, MYSELF LOVE TO WATCH THEM.EVEN THE "BAD" ANGELICA IS INTERESTING!!!.WE LOVE IT
- The video came very quickly, and it was everything I knew Rugrats to be. I higly recommend it!
- The one reason I had wanted this set the most was for the first Halloween episode where the babies scare the older children in the haunted house. I had hoped it would be there, no such luck.
The first DVD Disc "Halloween", includes "Curse of the Wereruff" the only true Halloween feature. The episode has the gang attending a holiday theme park, where Chuckie fears becoming a werewolf.
Tommy's Brother, Dill is in this story too.
"Ghost Story" has the characters in round adding parts to a silly, and sometimes a bit creepy story.
"Aunt Marian" the babies think a visiting aunt is really from outer space.
"Sleep Trouble" has Tommy and Chuckie worried about the Sand Man, after hearing a story from Tommy's Dad, Stu.
"Spike's Night Scare" a turkey's giving Spike a run for his money.
Disc two "Turkey & Mistletoe" is a better set. "Babes In Toyland has Angelica hunting down Santa with her long list, as Stu's robotic, and electrical land fall apart.
"The Turkey Who Came To Dinner" has a moral attached. This episode has all the main characters. Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica and the Twins "Phil and Lil find Grandpa's winning, and uncooked turkey.
Angelica tricks the crew into being in her holiday parade, and not telling the grownups about the turkey.
The Rugrats try to keep their feathered friend safe, and hope to come up with an escape plan. Each attempt fails, and the adults soon see this turkey.
The grownups blame their day's disappointment on the turkey. The babies surround their new friend, protecting him. Their actions shed light on the true meaning of the holiday.
"A Rugrat's Kwanzaa" focuses on Susie Carmichael. Everyone she feels has a trophy, but her. Without an award makes celebration difficult.
"The Santa Experience" has the toddlers going to a log cabin for Christmas.
An earlier trip to see a store Santa sends Angelica into a frenzy. Not impressed with the store's free Christmas presents she cons the babies to trade toys for each other, losing their importance.
Hearing that bad children get coal for Christmas changes her train of thought.
"Chanukah" has the youngsters assisting Grandpa,Boris, in a theatrical retelling of the holiday.

- This is Way overdue. This movie was something I saw on a vhs rental back in 1985. It's been way out of print, and I have a vhs copy that I recorded last Christmas morning on Turner Classic Movies. This is a true story, and considered among many lists to be one of the strongest tear jerking movies of all time. I can't wait for this to come on dvd in November. Even the box looks just like the original cover art of the Vhs version from long ago. I can't wait. If only it was in widescreen, oh well.

5 comments about Happy Holidays With Bing & Frank.
- I am sitting here in the living room next to the Christmas tree and with my family watching this video (we just hit repeat, so this is the second time around). It is wonderful. My six year old loves it (we've made him a big Frank fan over the years). It makes me yearn for these simpler times and evokes a wonderful warmth of the holidays. If you like Frank and/or Bing you need this video. I haven't seen the extras so I can't comment on those...just the half hour show is worth $10.
- This was an entertaining dvd. I especially liked the period decor and the interaction between Frank and Bing. These guys were icons in their time, and they sang excellent together.
- the film type was older and not as enjoyable. it was just the 2 of them enjoying an evening, it was a very short dvd,Shipped as promised.
- I was looking for old Christmas specials, and I ordered this, not really knowing what I would get. What a wonderful surprise! My children absolutely adored this special, which features Bing Crosby as a dinner guest being entertained by Frank Sinatra. There's a bit of a time travel sequence back to Merry Old England as well. This made for a delightful veiwing one evening over the holidays.
- What can I say...a short 30 minute show (then there is another bonus feature on the disk which adds more to the viewing minutes). Great music, very easy listening. I enjoyed this DVD, I think you would too!

5 comments about The Year Without a Santa Claus (Deluxe Edition).
- I was gald to help SPARKHILL with the documentary that is on this DVD! Finally, you will hear from the creators. While I applaud WARNER BROTHERS for including this, I wish their legal dept. would have let the RANKIN/BASS archives flourish in this doc as well BUT they did not. At least the interviews are here and you get to hear from the creators themselves! Maybe now, WB will do a RANKIN/BASS DVD box set and include what fans have been asking for: THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF SANTA CLAUS, THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY, BOOK 2, PINOCCHIO'S CHRISTMAS, THE LEAPRECHAUN'S CHRISTMAS GOLD, etc. There also needs to be a deluxe edition of THE FLIGHT OF DRAGONS. If WB owns THE BERMUDA DEPTHS, that needs to come out too. HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2007!
- All three videos are classics from my 30 something childhood - 100% worth the memories relived and the new ones with my kids - go, heat miser!
- First, let me say that I own this movie because it still retains it's charm more than three decades later, and still get a kick out of it. I can recall watching it on TV when I was a kid, and would sing the catchy Miser's songs. So having it on hand to watch it every year at Christmastime is a pleasure.
I was looking forward to upgrade from my older DVD of YWASC to this "Deluxe Edition" since I was keen on seeing a couple of documentaries and noted the product being advertised as "Newly Remastered". Well, in looking at the ORIGINAL 2000 DVD release, I realized that it is quite sharp in picture, as well as having a decent mono audio track. I noticed there were scarcely any grain or dirt on this print. So maybe I could not see a need to upgrade after all, and, as it turns out, I was correct in my assumption. I rather like to make picture comparisons with different DVD releases of a favorite movie, and I did the same with YWASC. Much to my surprise, the image is not only NOT an improvement, but to my eyes, in some instances has less sharpness and is duller in the colors! Again, in the first DVD release, one can see the finest details in say the puppet's hairs. Great clarity. With this new edition, there are periodic (though admittedly minor) inconsistancies in image. It is indeed puzzling that such a reduction in clarity (and I do know that the overwhelming majority of folks wouldn't know of them--and further, would not detract from their viewing enjoyment).
Sorry, I know I could get flack for what might be considered a minor quibble, but I feel that, apart from two (fairly interesting) documentaries, one could just as well not bother to invest in this repackaging of what was an already very adequate DVD release.
But either way, by all means enjoy and share with the family. Along with Rankin and Bass' other, earlier classic, Rudolph, The Red-nosed Reindeer, Year Without A Santa Claus is a gem that will charm for generations. So let me make very clear that the two-star rating is for this DVD release, of which the content is a decent four star.
- One of my favorite Christmas specials. My co-workers and I sing all of the songs in the office during the Holidays! I've started collecting the older movies so my nephews and neices can share in the fun!
- Ho yeah. Just as good at I remember it when I was a wee one. Ho yeahhhhh.

5 comments about Jingle All the Way (Family Fun Edition).
- Great family to watch with the family to put you in the holiday spirit!
A movie you'd watch every season! (especially if you'd been in the same dilemma as Arnold....I know I have!)
- I bought the vhs when that came out now I just got the family edition for christmas it's still fun and funny and now im 26 and it still makes me laugh it's one of my favorite holiday movie's it's turbo time on dvd now it's easier to watch on dvd instead of putting in the tape all the time I have to check out the extra's but I do like that the extended version is on here and I have never watched it on dvd before and owning it on dvd three things for me makes this a easy buy
- Jingle All the Way brings to the screen the story of a father as he rushes to find his son a Turbo Man action figure on Christmas Eve. Things get a bit complicated though, when Turbo Man action toys are the year's most wanted toys...
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rita Wilson, Jake Lloyd, Phil Hartman, Sinbad, and the rest of the cast, have carried out their performances wonderfully. Very well written and very well presented, the movie is without a doubt guaranteed to provide more than just a few laughs during the holiday season.
The setting, the plot, the dialogues, and the music are all good.
In conclusion, Jingle All the Way is a movie definitely worth watching and one to seriously consider adding to your movie collection if you are a Schwarzenegger fan.
- Classis Arnold comedy with the addition of sinbad to boot. Tons of laughs for anyone who loves this acting master. Got to get the turboman!
- The movie Jingle All The Way is an extremely entertaining movie which must be watched with children, preferably under 12 years. Any parent who has frantically searched for his son's toys at the eleventh hour can immediately relate to the main character who searches for the coveted toy for his son for Christmas.

5 comments about The Pink Panther - A Pink Christmas.
- It was surprisingly thoughtful of MGM to release the other two Pink Panther TV Specials here on this DVD along with "A Pink Christmas"! It's not obvious from the cover or the DVD info listed that all three Pink Panther TV Specials are on this disc, but they indeed are. "A Pink Christmas" which aired on ABC Dec 7, 1978; "Olym-Pinks" which aired on ABC Feb 22, 1980; and "Pink At First Sight" which aired on ABC May 10, 1981 were all approximately 25 minutes in length. "A Pink Christmas" was adapted from a 1906 O. Henry short story called 'The Cop and the Anthem' (credited in the cartoon) and is a wonderful 'haves and have-nots' type story that makes a perfect adaptation to the world of the Pink Panther - it's not an exact re-telling, the character in the short story is trying to get into jail so he can be warm and have food, while the Panther is on a quest for food, but he does try at one point to get into a jail. "Olym-Pinks" capitalized on the 1980 Winter Olympics that were held in Lake Placid, New York that year, and is a series of very competitive olympic games played between Panther and the 'little man' (as the animators referred to him). And "Pink At First Sight", although aired in May of '81, is essentially a Valentine's Day story. The studio could easily have only released the Christmas special and charged the same amount, but they used some foresight and gave we 'completists' a bonus with the other two TV Specials. While not having the 'classic-ness' (for lack of a better word) of the 1960s Panther cartoons, the specials are fun, and clearly the Christmas special is the highlight of the DVD and easily worth the price in and of itself. I remember when it first aired (I was 9) and it didn't really repeat all that often over the years. And as a fan of animation, it's cool to actually have it on DVD after nearly 30 years.
- 10 yr & 45 yr love the P.P any form this was a nice bonous to suprise
them
- I bought this DVD because I am A big Pink Panther fan. I have slowly made my kids to like him and other of the classic cartoons. This dvd is not as good as the collection of all the shorts but it is a great add on if you want the whole collection of cartoons since these cartoons are not included with the box set. It Is great that it includeds the Valentine special and the special Olym-Pinks I believe all of the classics are now avaliabe on DVD.The Pink Panther - A Pink Christmas
- I ordered this product a few days before Christmas, hoping that it would arrive in time to watch it before the holidays. I received the product before Christmas in its original packaging. The item was in excellent condition!
- The Pink Panther cartoons were among my favorite growing up. This particular DVD is okay, but I would recommend just getting some of the classics instead. The cartoons on this felt a little contrived and I actually found myself getting bored watching them.

5 comments about Christmas in Connecticut (1992 TV Movie).
- I'm sorry but I like the old Christmas in Connecticut so much better.
There was just something missing in doing this over. Barbara, Dennis and
"Cuddles" had chemistry. I collect Christmas movies and this is just okay. Sorry.
- THIS IS A MOVIE THAT YOU MUST ADD TO YOUR CHRISTMAS COLLECTION..A WONDERFUL FAMILY MOVIE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE KIDS WATCHING...
- The movie arrived quickly and well before Christmas. I would highly reccommend this seller.
- I really love the original of this film, and since I'm all about watching guilty pleasures, I thought I would give this remake a try. Can you say "Unwatchable drivel"? Kris Kristofferson seems stiff and completely ill-at-ease, and while the always likeable Dyan Cannon is her usual bubbly self, it's not enough to save a whole heap of bad acting and dialogue. It is fine for children to watch in that it is inoffensive, but for heaven's sake - rent the original or another classic Christmas film instead.
- This is a wonderful, fun, romantic holiday classic! Why this isn't shown during the holiday seasons on TV is beyond me! This is a heart warming tail that is sure to please not only the female audiance, but all those romantics out there. Add to your Holiday Collection and ENJOY.

5 comments about Nick Jr. Favorites - Holiday.
- Nick Jr. Favorites Holiday is the latest release in the series, featuring holiday-themed episodes of some top Nick Jr. shows, some of which are no longer making new episodes. Fans of these wonderful Nick Jr. programs won't want to pass on this.
"Blue's Big Holiday"
Blue and Steve celebrate a variety of holidays. This is a fun episode, though I'm pretty sure it's available on another DVD.
"Merry Christmas, Little Bill!"
"Little Bill" no longer airs on Nick Jr. in the U.S. and doesn't air on Noggin, so any episodes they give us on DVD are golden. In this episode, twice the length of a normal two-story "Little Bill" episode, the Glover Family is celebrating Christmas. No Kwanzaa for them, Christmas. Little Bill is excited about a visit from Alice the Great, but disappointed when her flight home from a visit to a cousin in Cincinnati (is it just me or do cousins / uncles / aunts, etc. on TV shows always come from somewhere in my home state of Ohio?) is delayed. Will he find a way to bring her home?
"The Snow Fort"
I adore "The Backyardigans," but once again, this is available elsewhere. Still, it's pretty cool. In this one, Pablo and Tyrone are Mounties protecting a fort, while Uniqua and Tasha are the Ski Patrol.
"Catrina's First Snow / The Snow Festival"
Ah, Oswald. A delightful show that used to air on both Nick Jr. and Noggin, but is no longer on either in the U.S. Fred Savage's voice for Oswald reminds me of the late John Ritter's for Clifford the Big Red Dog. In these two relaxing, comfortable stories, Oswald first takes baby Catrina out for fun in the snow and then organizes fun activities for a snow festival after a freak snowstorm changes plans for a fall festival.
This DVD also includes "Dora the Explorer" --- "To the South Pole" and "Max and Ruby" --- "Max's Christmas / Ruby's Snow Queen / Max's Rocket Run." I don't really think much of either show (except for the swinging theme song for "Dora"), but I know they're reasonably popular. Oh --- and the "Dora" episode is a more recent one, featuring star-catching.
- My kids love this DVD! All the holiday episodes in one DVD. It's great!
- This is a very good video, my son loves all of the shows not just a few. All very cute stories.
- I bought this for the Little Bill & Max & Ruby episodes. We were not disappointed. The other episodes were entertaining as well. I think it was a great value for family entertainment.
- My son really likes this dvd. He enjoys the Little Bill episode the most.
I can already tell that we will be watching this video during the Christmas holiday season for many years to come.
