- I'd just like to say that while I didn't think this movie rated very high, my daughter, who saw it the first time when she was 7 1/2 is crazy about this movie and since that who I bought it for, I am happy she likes it!
- I loved the humor, and the Rat, err, Mouse King's antics, but what I couldn't stand was the religous stuff. It's not advertised on the front, and it's not mentioned in any of the reviews i read on this, or even in the preview trailer. It kind of bugs me to have this great christmas classic tarnished everytime Peabo Bryson decides to sing us a song. In every scene that accompanied his songs, it seemed like Marie and the gang were in church. I actually had to watch it again to make sure i wasn't imaging them. Now if I wanted VeggieTales, I'd buy it. Other than that, it's a goofy movie that keeps my kids plenty entertained.
- We got a copy from the library and my daughter insisted we buy it! I think she is destined for Broadway! she just loves acting out the mouse king and even created her own costume so she could march around the house like him!! We are going to see the Nutcracker play together now and she is sooo excited. If this crazy movie can inspire an interest in plays and creative play on her own,,, I'm all for it! My little boy is also crazy about it! they are 4 and 2 yrs old.
- If this was a movie meant for me, I wouldn't be able to rate it very high. But my son has been watching it for over 2 years now. He doesn't just reserve it for the holidays, either. Every few months, he drags it out and watches it a bunch. In fact, it's mid-January now, and he's still watching it 2 or 3 times a day some days.
I really don't like it that much. It's certainly no "Nemo!" The music is a bit too gospel for me, and the story and animation are not spectacular. However, it has it's moments.
The most important thing is that, out of all the Christmas movies we have, my son loves this one the best. His entertainment is the sole reason I bought the movie, so I have to give it two thumbs up. Besides, anything that brings my son so much joy has a special place in my heart.
The following is my son's own review: "The nuts are funny, the Mouse King dances with one of his army men, and some little red fruits have gas and stink up the whole place and make their own men and a lot of black-eyed peas have to go to the hospital."
And there you have it!
- This is an adorable little movie. It is an updated version of "The Nutcracker", with assorted colorful characters and a Clara with 'Tude. I especially adored her; she was quite the scene stealer, if a cartoon character could possibly do that. Of course Phyllis Diller as the Fairy was a scream as well. It is a refreshing take on a classic fairy tale, and one that children can relate to. The computer-generated graphics are amazing.
This is fun family fare for the holidays. I recorded it on VHS when it played on Primetime TV, so I'm glad the DVD is out. Even adults will find it entertaining and amusing. (...).

- ....one of tha best Animated, Christmas movie I've ever seen. You will absolutely fall in love with this film...I've seen this movie before while I was shopping at Hollywood Video and decided to get my own copy today...
....anyway...this is an awesome movie...get it...watch it...love it...peace!
- Meh, this movie was kind of stupid. I didn't really care for the characters much either. The yellow singing bird should've been shot down! I hated the songs too. Check out Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer instead! It's always been better! Now to cook this yellow bird! Anyone hungry? MERRY CHRISTMAS YAS FILTHY ANIMAL AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
- After years of silence, Rankin/Bass, the company responsible for such holiday staples as "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", "Frosty The Snowman", "Year Without A Santa Claus", "Santa Claus Is Comin To Town" and many others, somehow managed to emerge with this terrible clunker. Gone is the Christmas enchantment that overflowed in the specials from their heydey - this depressing 1/2 hour is permeated with scenes from an impovershed ghetto. Instead of cute, charming stop-motion puppet animation, we get very cheap cel animation. I find it hard to believe that the team responsible for all those wonderful holiday classics had very much to do with this one, and I think maybe somehow their name was just tacked on it.

- Awww - this video is SO cute! It's NOT hokey or tacky - it IS full of tasteful and classic Christmas images and music. The style is very similar to Small Fry's "Brainy Baby" video for little ones (familiar music, simple, eye-catching images, sweet kids) but it's all about Christmas. My toddler especially loved the beautiful shots of sparkly ornaments, the child making cookies with mom, and the "how candy-canes are made" section. I loved the traditional shots of electric trains, playing in the snow, babies with new toys, etc. that remind me of what I love about this season. Watching this made me feel like a little kid again, and I love being able to introduce this feeling to my child, too.
- Jingle-Bell Baby is a delightful 30-minute, live-action music video intended for young preschool viewers age 1-5. Scenes of real kids celebrating the Christmas holidays, playing with toys, and admiring tree ornaments pepper this upbeat video enhanced with bright and popular toons. A special highlight involves a tour of a candy cane factory to see how the famous confections are made. A highly recommended, lighthearted holiday romp that perfectly captures the joyous nature of the holiday season, Jingle-Bell Baby is a recommended addition to family, day care center, and community library preschool video collections.
- My 14 month old loves this Christmas show. He does get a little bored during the candy cane factory part, & then gets right back into it. I think older kids would like that part & be bored with some other parts. So you can think of it lasting through more ages, or as not completely right for one age. Unlike many kids videos, the music isn't annoying. It's good Christmas music that I don't mind hearing while he's watching. Has a large variety of stuff including Santa, snow play, tree decorating, etc. Really fun show & a good change for the season from regular baby videos.
- I bought this video after my 2yr refused to watch Baby Santa's Music Box. I'm so glad I did! He adores this video, we watch it twice a day at least. He's learned most of the songs words and loves the trip to the candy cane factory, the making of snowangels, skiing and ice skating he loves it all! It's educational (has some counting, color recognition, object recognition etc.) and is just.. cute. This is one of those video's you won't dread watching with your child.. TRUST ME!

- saw and heard it on dvd and it good enough to be released on vhs for michael bolton fans.
- Who invited Michael Bolton?
There are a few inspired moments in this holiday presentation, but Bolton does not provide them... It is clear he has had no serious vocal training and looks visibly uncomfortable when he actually has to stretch himself beyond soulful wailing in numbers such as "Fum, Fum, Fum." Domingo and Huang hold their own nicely, though Domingo's own composition is forgettable. Bolton's "Joy to the World" is abysmal, clearly the worst part of the concert, which you can see from the looks on Domingo and Huang's faces. On a brighter note, Steven Mercurio is fantastic and vibrant as ever.
- This video is excellent the songs were great. Being invited to sing by Placido Domingo is a great privilege. Obviously he thinks Michael Bolton's voice warrants this music. Placido and Michael sing a duet of the "Ave Maria" that is wonderful, Michael did a great job singing this. He also has a great video on dvd with Luciano Pavarotti, called Pavarotti and Friends For the Children of Bosnia, and also a great duet with Renee Fleming opera singer on another CD of Michael Boltons, "My Secret Passion" of all the Italian aria's.
- Buy the DVD (and not the VHS). A magnificent orchestra. Photography is also great. Overall, very beautiful music.
In this DVD I have a favorite song: Silent Night with Bolton (the first one) so that I obviously can not agree with the reviewer that said Bolton does not provide inspired moments.
Ah, there is also a CD if you prefer.
- I think all the involved musicians did a great job,the idea of joining mega-artists of classical and modern music is interesting, the repertoire they sing let's you taste the traditional music from a lot of European and American countries.

3 comments about Baby Songs Christmas.
- Baby Songs Christmas is a series of music videos for various popular Christmas Carols. The songs are very well done and the videos are all different so that they hold the attention of young children. My three-year-old loves watching it and, after dozens of playings, I haven't grown tired of it either!
- My toddler and preschooler both love this video. There is one song that we all find less appealing that the others, so minus one star. Most of the songs / visuals are wonderful in a homey sort of way - in the style of other Hap Palmer videos. For frame of reference, I have given "More Baby Songs" five stars, and would upgrade my review of "Baby Songs" to five stars, too, if I could.
The Twelve Days of Christmas, Peace on Earth (original song / non-traditional carol), Jungle Bell Rock, Hymn Medley, and Sleigh Ride are delightful and heartwarming. My daughters won't miss a second of the fun when these songs start and come running in to catch them - and we often sign along. The Wassail Song is interspersed with somewhat humorous dialog by puppet carolers, which detract from our enjoyment - and is only so-so. "We're Cooking Supper for Santa" is a real bore musically and visually - that is usually one we fast-forward through. Flaws aside, I can't think of any better holiday music videos, so I would encourage you to pick this one up to enhance the holiday spirit in your homes. Our kids love it, and it is not one of those that when played over-and-over, grates on adult's nerves.
- I love this video. It's the only holiday video thay my 4.5 and 3 year old will watch together. They love it. They dance a lot of the time. I think it's very creative, just like the other Hap Plamer videos.
