- Have not received this item. Why does it take so long if it states it is "in stock" when purchased? This is very frustrating. Especially when it is an item you really want!
Low rating due to the fact I have not received!
- This is a wonderful video for children that teaches the true meaning of Christmas. Adults will love it too. I never get tired of watching this video.
- The physical part of the video and cover where as described, in good condition. However, the sound quality is poor. One can hear the movie O.K., but It sounds like "static" at different times of the movie, but throughout the whole movie.

- My 3 year old daughter loves this movie. We borrowed it from a friend (VHS Format) and enjoyed it so much that we purchased the DVD. After placing the order with Amazon, I read a review which indicated problems with the DVD format. I just want to let anyone who is interested know that the DVD which we received works just fine, and we have enjoyed multiple viewings with our daughter. It is a terrific holiday movie.
- I did not hear of this movie when it was released and only bought it because I came across it (on DVD) in a local store for $3.99 and figured I couldn't go wrong at that price, especially with Tom Bosley, David Hyde Pierce and Jonathan Taylor Thomas on board. I was pleasantly surprised. I think it has a nice story line, good characters and nice music (good job with narration and songs, courtesy of Trisha Yearwood). My daughter wanted to watch it over and over and over. We even made Tangerine Bear cut out cookies that year! She loved it so much I went back and bought another copy to add to my niece's Christmas gift. When my niece opened it her mother was astonished, "How did you know she LOVES this movie, we get it from the library all the time!?" (We shared the cookies too!) I bought it for my niece based on my daughter's reaction and it turned out to be a good call. So from a child's stand point it is fabulous, and this mom is fond of it too. Don't expect Disney animation, more like Saturday morning cartoons, but I'd pay full price if I hadn't found such a deal.
- This is a very cute kid's movie, while at the same time being warmly touching and entertaining to any adults who are obliged to watch it. This is a perfect movie for Christmastime. Reminiscent of the old story "Cordouroy" or even a little bit of "The Velveteen Rabbit", it will tug at the heartstrings and make kids from one to ninety-two smile with warmth and emotion.
The story follows an adorable little bear at Christmas time who, after not going home with a lucky child, ends up on a discount rack in the big toy store, and then finds himself in a lonely thrift shop in New York city with a few other toys looking for homes. The sun fades him to a unique tangerine color, hence the name "Tangerine Bear". He ends up becoming lost in the big city during a snowstorm, followed up of course by the requisite happy ending where he finally finds a home, sure to please your kids during Christmas, as the storyline is that of a Christmas movie.
Much better than you'd expect for the price. I was actually expecting it to be the price of a regular kid's DVD considering that the quality is on par of or exceeding that of most other movies in this genre. I received this movie as a gift for my little girl a few years back, lost it, and just recently ordered the DVD version so she can watch it for Christmas. As a lover of kid's movies, this is definitely a worthwhile addition to any animated collection.
- A most wonderful movie. It is a tradition in our family. A touching and moving story of a little bear looking for a home and not realizing that he already has the perfect home. It brings me to tears and joy.
- the movie came fast couldn't ask to be any faster. i watched this as a child and i couldn't wait to see it again i wasn't disappointed . it a great movie for young kids to watch without any parents concerns. these days that hard to find. it a wonderful movie your kids will love it ..

5 comments about Merry Christmas from Vienna.
- saw and heard it on dvd and it good enough to be released on vhs for michael bolton fans.
- Who invited Michael Bolton?
There are a few inspired moments in this holiday presentation, but Bolton does not provide them... It is clear he has had no serious vocal training and looks visibly uncomfortable when he actually has to stretch himself beyond soulful wailing in numbers such as "Fum, Fum, Fum." Domingo and Huang hold their own nicely, though Domingo's own composition is forgettable. Bolton's "Joy to the World" is abysmal, clearly the worst part of the concert, which you can see from the looks on Domingo and Huang's faces. On a brighter note, Steven Mercurio is fantastic and vibrant as ever.
- This video is excellent the songs were great. Being invited to sing by Placido Domingo is a great privilege. Obviously he thinks Michael Bolton's voice warrants this music. Placido and Michael sing a duet of the "Ave Maria" that is wonderful, Michael did a great job singing this. He also has a great video on dvd with Luciano Pavarotti, called Pavarotti and Friends For the Children of Bosnia, and also a great duet with Renee Fleming opera singer on another CD of Michael Boltons, "My Secret Passion" of all the Italian aria's.
- Buy the DVD (and not the VHS). A magnificent orchestra. Photography is also great. Overall, very beautiful music.
In this DVD I have a favorite song: Silent Night with Bolton (the first one) so that I obviously can not agree with the reviewer that said Bolton does not provide inspired moments.
Ah, there is also a CD if you prefer.
- I think all the involved musicians did a great job,the idea of joining mega-artists of classical and modern music is interesting, the repertoire they sing let's you taste the traditional music from a lot of European and American countries.

- So sad that elderly Katherine Hepburn got involved in this 'stinker' at the end of her career. Not that she did a bad job, but the whole film is a disaster. The premise of the plot simply asks the viewer to stretch belief too, too far. An unusually boring movie. Ok, if you really want to see what a very elderly Hepburn looks like with palsy, or what aging, pudgy Ryan O'Neill looks like, go ahead and watch it...
- When Katharine Hepburn made "The Man Upstairs" in 1992 it was her first acting project in four years. Two years later she would end her distinguished career with a couple of television films and a memorable supporting role in "Love Affair." At the age of 85 Hepburn plays Victoria Brown who has a sprawling home. One day Mooney Pulaski (Ryan O'Neal) escapes from the local penitentiary and hides out in her attic. Mooney is a jewel thief, so while he is literally an escaped convict he is not a threat to Miss Brown's life. He just needs a place to hide, along with a shower and a hot meal. Convincing Miss Brown that he is innocent, she allows him to stay.
Of course, this cannot go on forever, but "The Man Upstairs" has to develop the relationship between the odd couple before the sorrow of their ultimate parting. The story takes place during the holiday season and most of the movie has to do with Mooney and Miss Brown telling each other their stories, sharing secrets, and forming a friendship. We are not surprised that the housekeepers become suspicious and that the police start to close in on the escapee, or that Mooney is willing to make sacrifices for his new friend. O'Neil reminds us of how charming he can be as a performer and we can well understand why he would jump at the opportunity to do a film with Hepburn. Her motives for doing "The Man Upstairs" are less than clear, because having her do this role is basically overkill of the first order. The problem is that Hepburn first forays into television movies was so solid, with productions of "The Glass Menagerie," "Love Among the Ruins," and "The Corn is Green." She was nominated for all three of those performances, winning along with her co-star Laurence Olivier for the middle work. Although she was nominated for "Mrs. Delafield Wants to Merry" several years later, you are inclined to think that was more out of a sense of habit than anything else and her final film work on television consists of trifles like this one. "The Man Upstairs" is pleasant enough, but we are talking Katharine Hepburn here and we expect something more. This is a predictable but enjoyable little story, but not much more. For fans tracking down everything Hepburn has done this is worth a look. My second viewing is due only to my spending the week watching every one of her 51 film and television appearances in chronological order.
- This little gem is one of the best Christimas movies ever. Ryan O'Neal is perfect as the jewel thief with a heart, who breaks out of jail. Katherine Hepburn is the sassy octogenarian who befriends him. Along the way, there is Champange, A Christmas tree, Carolers, snow and 'the right message'.
Here are two of our best liked actors in a sweet, small movie, very different from what they did in their heyday. This is a charmer. I suspect this film will not be issued again. So, get it while you can.
