1 comments about Christmas With Flicka.
- traipsing about the quaint little old world town of St. Wolfgang, Austria, feasting on sweets, dancing with the locals at the tavern, singing and dancing to Christmas songs with two nice kids in tow. This isn't an exciting program, but it's a lot like the Christmas holidays - even a complete Scrooge can't help but love it! I've watched this one ever since it came out. I am looking forward to the DVD!
My only disappointment is they didn't make a CD of just the musical numbers that Frederica recorded for this special (minus foley effects, narration, and Rex Smith - LOL!) That would have been nice.

5 comments about An Irish Holiday.
- This DVD has something for everyone.
For those who are proclaimed affecionados of Irish culture, this gem is a treat. It provides a conglameration of some of the most influential literary figures (i.e. Frank McCourt of "Angela's Ashes") and musicians (Phil Coulter and Máire Brennan from Clannad). The participants alone make it worth having in your library. For those who just want something for the holiday season, one would not go wrong with this presentation. The presentation volleys between some of the most traditional and regional (Irish) holiday songs and relaying scenes from a dinner where the guests relay some of their favorite Christmas memories. Try this edition with a glass of port or an Irish coffee as the snow falls outside. I would wager you have something that will fast-become a Christmas holiday viewing tradition.
- I really enjoyed watching this DVD, you feel like you are sitting around the table with the guests, listening to their stories, laughing and singing along with them. It has a real cosy feel and even though I am in Australia and there is no snow falling, it still has that wonderful Christmas feel.
I bought a copy for myself and a copy for my daughter to give to our Irish dancing teacher as a Christmas gift, she loved it as it is something she can keep forever and share with her own family, plus it made a nice change from more chocolates!
From the DVD case-Filmed at Slane Castle and over a beautiful Christmas dinner, listen to Frank McCourt read from Angela's Ashes and Jean Butler recalling her introduction to Irish dance. Watch ANOM as they perform a holiday dance routine. Enjoy The Celtic Tenors, Moya Brennan (Clannad) Maura O'Connell and Brian Kennedy singing seasonal Irish songs.
Let yourself be swept away by the spirit and charming allure of this Irish Christmas gathering.
- I thought this would have been about an Irish Christmas music and some of it was, but it was some sort of TV special with guests that i did not recongize and some discussion of the holidays. The music was great the discussion was boring.
-
A stunning array of Irish folk singers gather together to perform some traditional Irish music. Amongst the performers are Maire Brennan, Maura O'Connellm, Brian Kennedy, and Phil Coulter.
- This DVD was a replacement for the VHS tape I had, so I knew exactly what I was getting. The production is wonderful and anyone that is "head-over'heels" with Ireland like my family members are, must have it. It has become one of the Christmas rituals in our family ( along with Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas). All the performances are of high quality. I even enjoy watching it "off-season".

4 comments about Debbie Friedman - Hanukkah Tales & Tunes / Miracles & Wonders.
- The DVD is truly one of the worst pieces of "entertainment" I have ever seen. Horrendous acting, dreadful songs, and a goblin(???!!!) make this a true affront to the beauty that is Hanukkah and a slap in the face to Jews everywhere. Resist the bastardization of this sacred holiday and AVOID THIS TRIPE AT ALL COSTS!!! If I could give it a negative rating I would.
- This is very upbeat, my children, ages 3-12, love watching this over and over again-and we don't mind! It is educational and enjoyable. The coordination of the dancing and singing is just wonderful, the skit is funny as well. I'm so glad something fun exists to explain the basics of Hannukah-we keep singing the songs to ourselves, even when not watching it.
- This album is very entertaining and fun to listen to. I personally just love dancing to each soundtrack. I won this album in a compition in my shule. I had no idea what the songs were about. But then I tried it. The songs are not complicated and are easy to sing along to.I reccomend this album very highly.
- This movie was the most heartwarming and uplifting film i have ever seen. The acting by the young and talented David Brand is unparralled. I recommend Hanukkah Tales and Tunes to everyone of all ages and religions!

1 comments about Witchcraft 666: The Devil's Mistress.
- Oops, this is just a Troma flick, and there's really no point in reviewing anything specific aside from making a general observation. First, being a Troma chick vid, the only purpose of it is to show nude models, and pretty nice ones too. The rest of the film is apparently populated by members of the film crew judging by the acting (and most of them are wearing hoods anyway). It's a pretty telling tip off when the DVD features a quick link to the nude parts!
Okay, there's nothing wrong with the tradition of using a horror/killer flick to display skin, right? Well . . . in 1994, maybe. Now? No way. There is so much nudity available on TV and especially the internet, needless to say, that no excuse is needed anymore. Try typing any girl's name on a global search of usenet postings, the typical response is maybe 10 thousand images and videos, 99.9% of which are porn. Nudity here, nudity there, nudity everywhere! Troma is going to have to harden up and get out the whips and torture chambers, because as it stands their films are too corny and too nudie cutie to be of interest to the sleaze crowd.
That's it, two stars for cute girls and the NTRL factor (nudity to total running length), but I gotta say, the NTRL factor is reaching the end of its useful life.

- My child and I really enjoyed this video. A great way to celebrate the beginning of Winter with your little ones and the entire family.
I plan to give this as gifts and include some bird seed....
- I gave several of these vidoes for Christmas presents. It is a delightful story told by narration, music and still and live photography. The photography is exceptional. Both children and adults will be charmed by the story and the characters.
I highly recommend both the book and the video.
- Just average. The book is much better to use with children.

1 comments about Gettysburg Battlefield Tour.
- If you know anything about the civil war you know that the battle of Gettysburg was not only a pivotal battle of the civil war but that it was also the largest battle ever fought in the Western Hemisphere and considered to be among the most decisive battles in history. With that in mind, I would expect that any tour of the battlefield would be approached with respect and reverence. But you find nothing of the sort in this DVD. This DVD treats the battlefield tour like a tour of a cracker factory. It is a silly, irreverent treatment of hallowed ground. Not recommended for anyone remotely interested in Civil War History.
