1. Terrible!! Cheesy animated holiday programs that have nothing to do with Bing Crosby except for the fact that the producers shoved some badly mastered, ancient renditions of some of Bing's Christmas music in each episode. What a waste of materials & money.....AVOID AT ALL COSTS-



2. A FUN ANIMATED MOVIE WITH BING CROSBY SINGING THE SONGS TO THE STORIES.



3. This wasn't exactly the sort of old time Christmas show I anticipated from the description. Still, my three children enjoyed it thoroughly and watched it several times over the holidays. I picked it up on a special deal, and that's the way I'd recommend that other people purchase it as well.

1. My husband is the Jazz officianado and he really liked the music on this DVD, I like it too but couldn't tell you why. The fire place is okay to watch, but the scenery change view is very enjoyable. Snow on pines, ornaments, homes decorated for the season tastefully. Very enjoyable. Something you could put on your large screen TV during the family gathering and be sure it would make a nice addition.

1. this movie is sooooooooooooooooooooooo funny!!!!!!! Me and my cuzin saw it playing in a toy store and we almost died laughing!!!!! we were spazzing about it the rest of the day. a little disturbing, but funny. luv the great great great gramma cookie thing. shes dead but her cookies live on. its like the muppets but sooooooooooooooo much funnier!!!



2. This video has gotten a cult following at Rutgers University. It's so funny and random. You get the feeling that the whole think took one take. It almost seems like the narator is making it up as he goes along. This is absolutly one of those things that was probably made for children, but can only truly be apreciated by young adults on. Definetally check this out if you want a wacky christams expierience.



3. at a party, we popped this in the VCR just for fun. About five seconds later I was rolling on the floor in laughter. This is by far the funniest thing I have EVER seen in my entire life, no joke. I laughed so so hard that I cried. I'm now a huge fan of Fay, Crookie, Vatti and the whole gang. If you need some laughs, this is the perfect thing for you.



4. This is a video we have watched year after year. Sometimes we try to watch it on the 12th day before Christmas. If you love those dogs, you'll love this! Hey! It's the one they made!



5. OK, once you get past the first few minutes the laffs wear off. Its mildly amusing, but, really, I cannot see why people think this is so funny. If you haven't seen it yet, I won't give the punch line away, but it wears thin pretty quick. Add a star if you are a dog lover and you have a really, really dry sense of humor, like Sahara dry.

1. This is our family favourite video. The songs line up of this production is very natural, from the festive "Sleigh Runners" opening featuring the kids playing the percussion, through secular favourites to the more religious songs and ending with "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "O Christmas Tree" featuring Ron Romm in a Christmas Tree costume going across the stage. The music arrangement is fantastic. Beautiful counterpoints. The Canadian Brass performance is as usual, wonderful. Despite what some reviewers of the older release feeling that this is not as polished as they expected, the children's choir and dance performances are really top notched and add to fullness of it. The scenes are rich with pretty sets to faces filled with expressions. There are lots of lovely touches from the costumes to the use of Ophelia the dog and other real animals. There are details like the backstage shots and the camel in the "We Three Kings" segment. All of these resulted in a program with lots of holiday spirits, a delight to young and old alike.
   
   What the product description doesn't mention is that the show is not just produced on one stage. There are off stage sets, and outdoor scenes-- "Jingle Bells" features a sleigh rides and "Sweet Songs of Christmas" includes beautiful ice dancing of a professional ice dancing couple. It is really a well balanced program. So well done that I don't mind having to watch it daily for 3+ months! (Yes, that's a little extreme, but I have a preschooler. This is much better than a lot of things a young child might demand!)
   
   I do have to say that my husband wasn't too excited about the video at first. However, it grew on him and it is now our comfort video of sorts. It's great to watch whether you're decorating a Christmas tree or just because. We especially recommend this video to family with small children. It's a wonderful way to introduce them to good music and my little one has effortlessly learned all the popular Christmas songs, secular and religious. It also presents to her the popular ideas behind Christmas. It really is great!
   
   Note: I have the older DVD release from 2000. The cover of this one looks much better, though I'm now suspecting my 2000 copy's authenticity (I ordered the older version from one of Amazon sellers two years ago and the cover looks like a cheap copy and I've just noticed a typo on the back cover!). So if you're choosing between this one and the older release, I suggest ordering this newer one directly from a reputable seller.
   
   (For those of you who are interested in introducing more music to your toddlers' lives, I also recommend another video of Barbara Willis Sweete. We stumbled upon the "Falling Down Stairs - Bach Cello Suite #3" from the "Yo-Yo Ma Inspired by Bach" series at our local library. The dance choreographed by Mark Morris beautifully adds to the already wonderful music. It's another of our delights.)

1. A feel good movie. As the Christmas queen collector of over 700 titles I recommend this as a family night film gather the kids and grab some hot chocolate. It is a story of love and laughs and maybe a tear or two. My five kids watch this every year and they enjoy Micheal Keaton as the snow Dad to Charlie. Micheal Keaton was always too busy to spend time with his family and then tradgedy strikes when a horrible accident happens on Christmas Eve. I don't want to spoil the movie anymore so you will have to watch for yourself. Enjoy..

2. Also contains a Thanksgiving episode, but it is as advertised: a christmas episode from the tv show. I was disappointed that the opening theme song & music were not from the original show. Guess they didnt want to pay the royality fees to use the original music, oh well.

1. When I was in high school (1950) our speech teacher rented a film of "Holiday Inn" for a Drama Club party. It was in instant hit with me. For several years, our family has watched this during each Christmas season, on VHS taped from the Disney Channel (when they were still showing complete movies without commercials). Strangely, they edited out the "Abraham" sequence, I suppose in an attempt at political correctness.
   I looked for some time for a DVD, before I found this one. Unfortunately, the sound is a problem. It is necessary to pump up the volume for the dialogue sections, then bring it down again for the musical numbers. We have not even tried the "Going My Way" portion; so I cannot comment on it.
   I do note that now there are other recordings available. Get one of them, not this one.

1. Yes...I am the insane one who has watched this movie thousands of times because it's so interestingly weird, bizarre and strange.
   
   This DVD release is the ORIGINAL version with all of the correct soundtrack score and songs. The other release changes all of the music score and songs, which is what makes HHOH5 have it's feel and mood.
   
   If you buy Horror House, be sure to get THIS DVD release.
   
   It's too bad we don't have extras like commentary, interviews with the actors, etc. This is a rare gem of a film and it never gets old and never gets boring.
