1 comments about Red Skelton - Vol. 3 Holiday Collection.
- The comedy is classic and live, Red has fun adlibbing with his guests. The shows are fun to watch, but you better use a small screen TV. The image is no better than a second generation VHS tape at EP recording speed. It's DVD quality like this that makes one cautious about what labels to purchase from. It is too bad that Brentwood didn't get the original film kinescopes to master this classic material from. Hopefully this material will re-appear under another company DVD for better enjoyment.

2 comments about Happy Holidays with Darkwing Duck and Goofy.
- When it gets to the Chirstmas time, this would be a great video for kids 5 and under to watch. This video staring Darkwing Duck and Goofy tells the real meaning of Christmas. Goofy's son, Max, wants to do something new for Chirstmas other than his dad's silly Christmas tranditions. But later he finds that tranditions can be memories to treasure. Then in the next short, Darkwing's daughter, Gosalyn, learns that it is better to give than receive while Darkwing Duck has to save Chrismas from Christmas trees that can move. This movie will make a great present for Christmas
- I would like to know why this is called Happy Hoildays from Darkwing Duck and Goofy, when the only hoilday done in decmber is Christmas in this video. The shows titles from Darkwing Duck and Goofy are Have a Goofy little Christmas and It's a wonderful leaf. Have a Goofy little Christmas is the story of Goofy's son Max who is tired of doing hte same trations every year and Goofy's trations anger his next door neighbor Pete. So Pete has his family go to Colordo to spend Christmas. So Max talks Goofy into a trip to Colordo. And Goofy doesn't know that he is about to reunite with his grouchy next door neighboor Pete.
It's a wonderful leaf, okay know for the Darkwing Duck part of this video. Darkwing Duck's daughter can't wait to open her Christmas presents. But Darkwing won't let her open one until Christmas Day. But when a grinch wanna-be has Christmas trees starting to ruin Chirstmas. It's up to Darkwing to save Chirstmas. How do you keep Max and P.J. apart? Accordign to this video you can't.

5 comments about Miracle on 34th Street (1947).
- This product contains both an original black and white and a colorized copy of the original Miracle on 34th Street. Personally I feel that colorization is a major travistry but.. The black and white original is the cleanest, clearest copy of this classic that I have seen in years. The original cast is so good that there have been several remakes all of which were a waste of time. This is the definitive copy of a timeless story.
- I watched the original black and white version. It looks and sounds great. I didn't buy the video for the special features, so I didn't pay much attention to them.
I would recommend Miracle on 34th Street to everyone, young, old, or in between.
- This is a wonderful Christmas movie. If you love old movies this is a perfect one to get.
- The 2007 brand new beautifully color enhanced version of "Miracle on 34th St." is not the same color version as the one made in the '90's. It is also certainly not the same as the first color version made in the '80's. It's a brand new 2007 color technology produced color version. Whoever thinks this is the same color version, be it the AFT color version of the '90's or the bad '80's color version is wrong, this is an excellently color enhanced 2007 version. I know this for a fact because I watched the '90's A.F.T. version and the new Legend color version side by side as I watched this movie Christmas time 2007. The new version is sharp, clear, colors are nice and bright (no more brownish or dark reds, the reds are now bright and red red) and the movie now looks like it was originally shot in color. That's the best complement you can give a colorized movie. It's beautiful. Even some colors of things like ties, dresses, scenery background on the wall are different colors now than they were in the '90's color version. Watching these side by side on a split screen I could see first hand the vast improvements this 2007 version is over the past color versions. This ain't your Daddy's colorization anymore. So get over the snob/elitist comments. Welcome to a big beautiful colorful world. B/W you're thru. Now please color ALL the rest of the drab b/w movies and TV shows then I'll be in heaven.
- For years our family, having grown up and become self-sufficient, decided to donate to a few charities rather than buying presents (except for the children). Besides making for a much more relaxed holiday season, it let us get past the frenzy and allowed our minds to better appreciate the meaning of Christmas.
There are some things that generate sights and smells and memories in our hearts. This movie is one of them. For what Christmas could be complete than lounging together as a family and watching some of the Christmas classics. Certainly "Miracle on 34th Street" is one of them.

5 comments about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer & The Island of Misfit Toys.
- After watching the "entire" movie & reflecting on it, especially the 3rd act's surprize ending, this movie tells a great story about a toys' love of a child [and vice versa], separation, loss, reunion, & the tradition of passing things down to your children. Just about a tear-jerker.
In addition, the movie includes Rudolph & the other characters from the original movie from 1964, & with the same voices.
The key to enjoying this sequel, & the reason for my 5 star rating, is simple: I viewed it through the eyes of my 3 year old son, rather than through my now jaded & critical adult eyes. The only adult criteria was whether the story was good, and was it easy to follow for children, and it definitely is both.
IF I were a child today, would I love this film? The answer is yes.
My son watched the TV broadcast once & kepy asking about it for days after. Enough said.
- This really is awful- nothing like the original and very unsettling to watch. I DVRed this, thinking it was the old, stop-motion movie. What a HUGE disappointment!
- I was surprised how much I liked this movie. Yes the CGI animation isnt top notch but I really liked the story. The only thing I didnt care for was the hippo character which was a little risque although well voiced by Jamie lee curtis. For the reviewers who confused this with the original can't you read? Considering some of the voice actors of the original were
no longer living when this was made the voices are well reproduced.
- I picked up this DVD at a garage sale thinking it was the 1964 classic until I read the back when I came home to discover it's a sequel. Regarding the songs, they are horrendous (which is why it loses a point in my rating), but the cartoon, story and all, surprised the heck out of me! All the lovable characters (including Charlie-in-the-box) from the 1964 classic is brought back with a new set of vocal talents that sound so much like the original cast, it's breath-taking and a little eerie. Yes, it's computer-animated instead of the stop-action of the '64 original, but so much attention, care, and love was given to the details, it doesn't become an issue and it gives this installment its own special charm.
Even a new twist on the social issue of Rudolph wishing to be like all the other reindeers was thought-provoking, clever, and wonderfully done. The animators even gave new dimension to Rudolph's nonconformity that does not, in my opinion, ruin the charm of the original. If anything, I look at it as Rudolph's nose changing its nature as he grows older, just as children's traits grow and change and evolve as they go through life.
The writers and animators thought of everything, including Rudolph's continuing relationship with Clarisse, and even giving Hermie the elf a love interest after graduating from Dental School. There are lots of in-jokes galore, including Hermie's vehicle having a modern-day alarm remote that chirps when activated, and there's even a "borrowing" from "Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom."
The main crux of the story is a dark character called the Toy Taker who has taken toys everywhere including all of the toys in Santa's workshop, and it's up to Rudolph and his friends to solve the mystery, catch the Toy Taker and return the toys in time for Santa's run on Christmas Eve.
With all that being said, I heartily recommend you buy or rent this wonderful movie and be in for the treat of your life ESPECIALLY if you're a fan of the 1964 original!!
- Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys is an enjoyable holiday film for the whole family. It has good, crisp animation, a clever story line, a little humor, and even some mystery and suspense. The DVD has some scenes not shown in the TV version. Of course it has a happy ending, and it delivers a wholesome message. My 4 year old grandaughter has already watched it half a dozen times...in May!!

4 comments about Santa and the Three Bears.
- I was expecting the classic I watched as a kid. It looked as though someone was watching it on T.V and camcorded it with an old camcorder. It looks like a pirated dvd.
- I bought this DVD for my mother as an anniversary present just before Thanksgiving last year. She hasn't stopped watching it since! I'm twenty six yrs old myself and haven't seen it since I was a little girl!!! At its core, the video is an excellent reminder of childhood memories coupled with the underlying, but nonetheless prominent message of the season's real meaning!!! Definitely worth the money!!!
- I bought this to replace the old VHS Tape we have... which is of horrible quality... but this DVD was just as bad!! It's like someone copied our awful VHS Tape to DVD!!! It seems like someone created it in the basement or something!!! I couldn't help but think I was watching a pirated copy?!?! It has poor sound quality, is "choppy" in places with picture and sound, and is blurry and the color is muted! No remastering or sharpening of picture/sound quality! Just bad quality all the way around!! So disapointing!!
- Not too many people know of this show unless you were a child growing up in the 70's in Southern California. KTLA (channel 5)aired this all the time during Christmas Time. I love introducing this rare gem to anyone that does not know about it. This is a great family movie for Christmas! It's a wholesome, clean and an innocent story reminding me of a less chaotic world we used to live in.
Please enjoy!
