1 comments about Witchcraft 666: The Devil's Mistress.
- Oops, this is just a Troma flick, and there's really no point in reviewing anything specific aside from making a general observation. First, being a Troma chick vid, the only purpose of it is to show nude models, and pretty nice ones too. The rest of the film is apparently populated by members of the film crew judging by the acting (and most of them are wearing hoods anyway). It's a pretty telling tip off when the DVD features a quick link to the nude parts!
Okay, there's nothing wrong with the tradition of using a horror/killer flick to display skin, right? Well . . . in 1994, maybe. Now? No way. There is so much nudity available on TV and especially the internet, needless to say, that no excuse is needed anymore. Try typing any girl's name on a global search of usenet postings, the typical response is maybe 10 thousand images and videos, 99.9% of which are porn. Nudity here, nudity there, nudity everywhere! Troma is going to have to harden up and get out the whips and torture chambers, because as it stands their films are too corny and too nudie cutie to be of interest to the sleaze crowd.
That's it, two stars for cute girls and the NTRL factor (nudity to total running length), but I gotta say, the NTRL factor is reaching the end of its useful life.

5 comments about Alabaster's Song Video.
- As a Preschool Teacher of 4 and 5 year olds, I have read many books about the Christmas Story. This book is by far, the childrens' favorite. It is both touching and exciting. I have never read one of Max Lucado's books that I was not absolutely thrilled with.
- Alabaster's Song is a story that you should own, even if you don't have a child. It is warm and sweet, and brings you back to the place where the child inside each one of us still lives.
As always, Max Lucado has the gift of reaching down into the depths of your heart and soul, and touching you, drawing you closer to God. Make this book part of your library, part of your Christmas traditions. I read it each year to my "babies", who are now 19, 17, and 13. It is a tradition I will carry on with my grandchildren.
- This is a fabulous book that brings to mind the wonder of Christmas through a child's eyes. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is timeless and unforgettable! I read this story to my children, ages 11, 8, and 4, each year around Christmas. I even read it to my MOPS group as a Christmas reading last year. Thank you, Max Lucado, for another wonderful children's book!
- Very cute story about a little boy whose Christmas Tree angel comes to life to sing sweet songs to him. Gorgeous artwork brings the story to life with brilliance. I loved that the story repeated itself once the little boy grew up and had a son of his own who hears the angels music.
- This is one of the most beautifully illustrated, delightful stories I have had the good fortune to encouter. Alabaster, the spirited little angel, touches the life a boy with positive results. The message in this gentle story is that when good is done, pass it on. It is so lovely, so moving that it might make one misty eyed. This book is a real treasure. Max Lucado and the illustrator have used their talents to enrich the lives of others.

3 comments about A Christmas Carol (Jetlag Productions).
- A Christmas Carol is a great classic book by Charles Dickens and there have been many film adaptations of his book including this cartoon version and it was cute but too short and they left out some good things from the book. The picture quality of the DVD is not that good but Goodtimes is not exactly known for quality DVD's or videos! I bought this last year from Walmart. It was in their DVD bargain bin and was priced about 4 dollars so at least I didn't pay too much for it!
- A Christmas Carol, produced by Jetlag Productions in the year 1994 and released on DVD format by Goodtimes Entertainment in 2003, is based on Charles Dickens' timeless Christmas story, "A Christmas Carol". This animated re-telling of Dickens' classic masterpiece is probably the fifth or sixth of the different versions I've seen. I picked it up for under four dollars at a local convenience store and I must say it was well worth the price; just compare it to the many other poor, cheap animations you can find at such retailers. Jetlag Productions' "A Christmas Carol" cannot brag about its good animation, but it can certainly say that thought and the needed attention was put into it, far too many other animation "productions" can hardly even make that claim. "A Christmas Carol", along with Jetlag Productions' "The Nutcracker" (1994) and "The Magic Gift of the Snowman" (1995) are often found on bargain DVD shelves at Christmas time, and all three features can be bought together on a special, online semi-exclusive Goodtimes Entertainment pack. "A Christmas Carol" is directed mainly at a younger audience, rather than saying exclusively, and adults should take that into consideration upon viewing, perhaps with that in mind you'll enjoy the film more.
"A Christmas Carol" tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a cruel and selfish business man who's idea of Christmas is a very poor one indeed. He believes Christmas is nothing more than an excuse for workers to take the day off, for people to be merry despite finding themselves in tough economical situations, and to spend on things that are of no use and a waste of what he values above anything else: money. Ebenezer works at a counting house and his reputation as a cold-hearted man has spread throughout London; children fear him and keep at a distance, but the one who fears him most is Bob Cratchit, his over-worked, under-paid employee. Seven years had gone by on that very Christmas Eve since Ebenezer's old partner, Jacob Marley, had passed on. Like Scrooge, Jacob Marley had wasted his days counting money and caring only for work while watching the world go by. This Christmas night, the ghost of Jacob Marley makes an appearance at Ebenezer's lonely home as he sits in his living room. Jacob explains to his former friend and business partner why he has come, how he now realizes how foolish he had been in life, and how he will forever regret and pay for his actions now after death. Jacob wishes to spare Ebenezer the same fate and tells him that on that night, he is to receive visits from three spirits. Indeed, Ebenezer is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and is haunted by the Ghost of Christmas Yet-To-Come. Each of the spirits takes Scrooge on a journey through time and through his life, awakening awareness about the time and the opportunities lost, the ones he is losing on that very Christmas season, and the dark outcome of it all unless changes are made. Though a bit stubborn at first, Scrooge slowly becomes a new person through this remarkable experience; earning regret for a wasted past and opening his heart to those who he had considered the worthless, "surplus population".
As I've said before, I've seen several animated and live-action adaptations of Charles Dickens' story and I must confess that this was probably the one I enjoyed the least. It is certainly not bad, but as with all other Jetlag Productions films, the running time is limited to 45-50 minutes, not allowing time for deep characterization of any sort and making many of the characters have rather bland appearances. Tiny Tim, for example, is hardly a character one can really care for here, as his on-screen appearance is just so limited. The animation is good for Jetlag Productions' standard and the same goes for the chracter design, especially when compared against the disappointing character design in "Jungle Book" (1995). Songs and music are nice, however, Jetlag songs have been much, much better. The singer, who later sung the great "A Little Bit of Magic" in "Snow White" (1996) or "Follow Your Heart" in "Sleeping Beauty" (1995) seems to still be training here, and her voice gets a bit annoying. The first song, "Sleep No More" is somewhat awkward and not much like the typical song from this studio; the song plays just as Scrooge says farewell to Jacob Marley and is haunted by scary visions of lost spirits wandering the streets of London. The second song, "A Very, Wholesome Merry Christmas" is far more lively and uplifting, much more like the stuff I'm accustomed to. The song expresses the joys of Christmas as Scrooge finds himself a changed man, ready and able to enjoy and be part of them. The last song, "Keep Christmas in Your Heart" is played during the ending credits and serves as a final reminder that Christmas is the season of giving and of being kind to others, probably the best of the three songs in my opinion. As a few closing thoughts, the character of Ebenezer Scrooge is not drawn as I've come to picture him from other adaptations. This time around, instead of a crabby old man, he looks more like a crabby, well, younger man, with brown hair as opposed to white hair. Anyways, this version of "A Christmas Carol" is cute, and if you're like me who doesn't mind seeing and owning five different versions of a good story, then why should you not see this if you enjoyed Charles Dickens' story? Better versions in my opinion are definitely Burbank Films Australia's 1982 made-for-TV animated version; the 1984 made-for-TV live action version starring George C. Scott as Ebenezer Scrooge and of course, who could forget Disney's 1983 animated short, "Mickey's Christmas Carol"? All in all, an enjoyable addition to any children's Christmas film collection. Recommended.
- A Christmas Carol is one of the most well-known and loved holiday stories, and this animated DVD brings to life the classic Dickens story for children. Ebenezer Scrooge is mean and miserly, thinking that the most important thing in life is business. He has no use for all the frivolity of the Christmas season as people bustle about London, preparing for the holiday. If he had his way, his clerk, Bob Cratchit, would work on Christmas day instead of being at home with his family and especially his sick son Tiny Tim. But this Christmas Eve is different. Visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and yet to come, Scrooge is taken on a whirlwind journey through things he has done and things yet to happen. With each visit, Scrooge's heart is softened and he realizes he has a chance to change his ways. After his transformation, Scrooge becomes known for keeping the spirit of Christmas alive all year long. Make this uplifting your family's favorite film this holiday season! Running time: Approximately 49 minutes. Dolby digital, stereo and mono, English/Spanish.

5 comments about Pink Panther's Pink Christmas.
- It was surprisingly thoughtful of MGM to release the other two Pink Panther TV Specials here on this DVD along with "A Pink Christmas"! It's not obvious from the cover or the DVD info listed that all three Pink Panther TV Specials are on this disc, but they indeed are. "A Pink Christmas" which aired on ABC Dec 7, 1978; "Olym-Pinks" which aired on ABC Feb 22, 1980; and "Pink At First Sight" which aired on ABC May 10, 1981 were all approximately 25 minutes in length. "A Pink Christmas" was adapted from a 1906 O. Henry short story called 'The Cop and the Anthem' (credited in the cartoon) and is a wonderful 'haves and have-nots' type story that makes a perfect adaptation to the world of the Pink Panther - it's not an exact re-telling, the character in the short story is trying to get into jail so he can be warm and have food, while the Panther is on a quest for food, but he does try at one point to get into a jail. "Olym-Pinks" capitalized on the 1980 Winter Olympics that were held in Lake Placid, New York that year, and is a series of very competitive olympic games played between Panther and the 'little man' (as the animators referred to him). And "Pink At First Sight", although aired in May of '81, is essentially a Valentine's Day story. The studio could easily have only released the Christmas special and charged the same amount, but they used some foresight and gave we 'completists' a bonus with the other two TV Specials. While not having the 'classic-ness' (for lack of a better word) of the 1960s Panther cartoons, the specials are fun, and clearly the Christmas special is the highlight of the DVD and easily worth the price in and of itself. I remember when it first aired (I was 9) and it didn't really repeat all that often over the years. And as a fan of animation, it's cool to actually have it on DVD after nearly 30 years.
- 10 yr & 45 yr love the P.P any form this was a nice bonous to suprise
them
- I bought this DVD because I am A big Pink Panther fan. I have slowly made my kids to like him and other of the classic cartoons. This dvd is not as good as the collection of all the shorts but it is a great add on if you want the whole collection of cartoons since these cartoons are not included with the box set. It Is great that it includeds the Valentine special and the special Olym-Pinks I believe all of the classics are now avaliabe on DVD.The Pink Panther - A Pink Christmas
- I ordered this product a few days before Christmas, hoping that it would arrive in time to watch it before the holidays. I received the product before Christmas in its original packaging. The item was in excellent condition!
- The Pink Panther cartoons were among my favorite growing up. This particular DVD is okay, but I would recommend just getting some of the classics instead. The cartoons on this felt a little contrived and I actually found myself getting bored watching them.

5 comments about Monticello:Home of Thomas Jefferson.
- This is a true account and a great movie. The only ppl who have a problem w/ it are white people who don't want to believe that a white man, a president, could fall for a slave woman. This movie showed how times were back then, if you look deeply a lot of what is still going on and it shows how love really does rule! Great Movie, Great Buy!
- I recently saw this on cable and was overwhelmed by the fact that Sally Hemmings was a free woman from the time she was in Paris. Her faithfulness to Jefferson was really astounding in light of our modern attitudes on relationships. Watching it was very revealing in the sense that the nature of the movie and Jeffersons life as it intertwined with Sally Hemmings portrayed their faithfulness to each other. She was faithful to him from the time she first met him. That can't be said of todays marriages.
- If you love hitorical dramas and romantic fantasies, I highly recommend Sally Hemings: An American Scandal. Although I strongly suspect there was a real relationship between Jefferson and Hemings, this story is taken way over the top for entertainment's sake. The entertainment value is certainly there, but it is so strong that one can be easily swept away by it into the realm of belief.
An alleged "historian" once publicly stated that he "wouldn't let history get in the way of a good story." As a fan and writer of fiction, I can understand his statement. However, as a lover of history, I bitterly resent his idiocy.
History, itself, is a great story. But when the need for dramatic presentation leads that story far afield from the facts, it should never, ever be presented as real history.
I absolutely recommend Sally Hemings: An American Scandal as a romantic fantasy with a historical setting. To say that it is more is to do an injustice to both the Jeffersons and the Hemings, who are inadequately represented here.
- IF YOU LIKE HISTORY AND FICTIONAL HISTORY YOU'LL LOVE THIS FILM. THE DETAIL TO PERIOD DRESS,DECOR AND LIFESTYLE IS WONDERFUL. NEVER KNEW THE STORY BEFORE AND IT WAS BOTH ENTERTAINING EMOTIONALLY SATISFYING. CHARACTERS ARE ENDEARING. ALSO MAKES YOU THINK.SAW IT FIRST ON TV AND HAD TO HAVE IT. WILL WATCH AGAIN AND AGAIN.
- Sally Hemings: An American Scandal draws you in immediately, and despite its length, holds your attention the entire time. The story transcends time, as it still holds a very relevant message today. The actors are all superb at presenting the varied sides of the dynamic characters. The audience grows to feel great empathy for Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings as they attempt to follow, and sometimes fight, their moral compasses. The aesthetic is also spectacular; meticulous attention was paid to detail in all of the sets and costume design.
For a made-for-TV-movie, it really is extraordinarily touching, as it makes the audience feel both inspired and ashamed of this fascinating part of American history.
