1. This is a delightful little book that is great for ages two through 6. It includes all the great steps children go through getting ready for Halloween -- of course, this bunny family goes through the same steps. There isn't a lot of dialogue to bog down the story but the pictures fill in well. It is a great favorite in our home. One caution: as the children trick or treat they eat their treats right away so we always address that issue -- for that, we subtract one star.

1. From the gorgeous illustrations to the catchy rhymes, this book is a wonderful buy & a fantastic depiction of many holidays ("common" ones such as Thanksgiving as well as more obscure ones such as Earth Day). I especially liked how the author provided a combo poem for Christmas/Chanukah:
   
   Stars are shining
   Down the lane,
   Making halos
   On each pane.
   
   Celebrations
   For a night
   Made of holy
   Candlelight.
   
   For each candle
   Say a prayer.
   Blessings on us,
   Every bear.
   
   I am only surprised not to find more enthusiastic reviews of this book, but perhaps that is because it was published awhile back (I found our copy at a thrift store). It may be an oldie, but it is timeless & classic.

1. Jane Ray's beautiful illustrations make this book a Christmas treasure. Especially notable is that Mary is shown nursing baby Jesus.



2. The illustrations in this book are beautiful. This is really a "heirloom book"! Mary is shown nusing baby Jesus, which I thought was a great statement. The passages per page are short enough for a 2-year-old to follow. Our family can highly recommend this book!



3. I LOVE THIS BOOK! I received this book as a gift when my children were small, and we have been reading it every Christmas Eve since. Even my teenagers like to sit close to look at the vivid, inticate drawings as we read aloud the familiar words of the Christmas story. I have given it as a gift to many people, always with enthusiastic reports. I love that it shows Mary nursing, that the wise men are of varying hues, and I especially love the angels! When they were small, my kids would want it read over and over, and were engaged by the pictures for long periods of time. Get it in hardcover!
