1. Miss Spider is the best series. My daughter loves all the bright colors. Highly Recommended!



2. My 16 month old and I go to the library and get books quite often. When I read this book to her she loved it. It is hard to tell who loved it more though, my daughter or me. The colors are vibrant and the rhyme has a nice rhythm. I did not mind reading it several times a day.



3. In "Little Miss Spider: A Christmas Wish," Little Miss Spider finds herself without anyone to play with on Christmas Eve. She's really hoping for a new friend and so she sets out on the winter day. At first, she doesn't meet anyone, but then she comes upon Asparagus Beetle. Asparagus proves to be a great new friend, but it turns out there's something he needs too --- and Little Miss Spider is just the one to help.
   
   This book is written in the classic "Miss Spider" rhyming style by David Kirk. The young version of Miss Spider is very cute. The illustrations alternate between full page and text pages with a small illustration.



4. After we discovered my daugter's love for the original "Little Miss Spider", we endeavored to collect the entire series. Like the others, this one did not disappoint.
   
   The story follows much the same formula as Kirk's other Little Miss Spider books - one that works well for these tales. Miss Spider on a quest, encounters conflict, conflict resolves in a lesson of sorts.
   
   This is a lovely, warm little Christmas story and an enjoyable and fun read with its well-constructed rhymes, vivid colors, and endearing characters. And the hardcover version has those wonderful, durable glossy pages that hold up even to a toddler's not-so-careful page-turning techniques!
   
   Absolutely recommended for all young readers.



5. This is a cute rhyming book about Little Miss Spider, her mother (Bettie Beetle), and her friend Asparagus Beetle. The story is essentially one about how much more important people are than things. It is heartwarming and Holiday appropriate.
   
   I have to say though, that I was a bit puzzled about what was going on until I read the front flyleaf. The flyleaf provided a great deal of information about what the story was about. It explains something of Miss Spider's own adoption, and how she is missing all of her friends who are hibernating. I highly recommend you take a moment to read it with your child -at least once - before going on to the rest of the text.
   
   The Accelerated Reading designation for this book is 3.1 which means that it is suggested for children in the first month of Third Grade. Having said that I would note that my own children had a bit of a problem with the font because it is stylized (i.e. fancy).
   
   Vocabulary includes: boughs, beneath, Asparagus, gargoyles, frighten, cushion, and sheltering.
   
   Four Stars. [B-] :::: The artwork is typical of Miss Spider. Color is vivid and covers the entire page. Good Read-aloud. I liked the pro-family, pro-adoption attitudes, and the fact that the vocabulary isn't babyish. The AR designation for this book is 3.1.

1. Most Ramadan books are too difficult to read to my young students and I was missing that perfect book about this holiday. Now I can read them a book the students can enjoy and 1st and 2nd graders can read it on their own too! Thanks for the book, if only it had arrived sooner.

   Muslim holidays to kids. My son was able to read
   this book to his first grade class. As a Muslim
   Mom I want to be able to use story books to bring
   knowledge about our religion to the kids in a fun way.

1. Ages 3-6 will not want to miss Rebecca Emberly's Pinata!, a highly recommended bilingual Spanish/English survey of the items which traditionally stuff piñatas, and how piñatas are enjoyed at a party. Very simple drawings accompany a fine survey of the pinata in all its glory and appeal.

1. My daughter is only 18 months. She won't show too much interesting on every book I bought for her. But she likes this one. The color of the bookis bright and beautiful. She learnt the words: "seed", "bud", "rain" etc. from the book.
   
   There are not too much story inside but some simple words and very short sentence said by ants. Each ant has a name. That's the only thing we try to ignore now. I think my daughter is too small to understand them now. Maybe I am wrong.

5 comments about Valentine Princess (Princess Diaries, Vol. 7 3/4) (Princess Diaries).

1. I really enjoyed this book, it follows the format of the traditional fractional princess diaries. Mia starts freaking when she finds out Michael hates Valentine's Day, complains to us and Tina for a few dozen pages, we get the usual rift between Lilly and Boris. At the end, everyone ends up happy on Valentine's Day, except Lana, who's mentioned in about 2 pages of this book. My one qualm is that Grandmere seems like a rich dotty old lady here, following the advice of an astrologist, rather than the snappy down-to-earth b**** we're all used to. But overall, it was a nice read, and a good way to pass the time waiting for PD IX.



2. My daughter appreciated this as a Valentine's Day gift and is enjoying the peripheral storyline.



3. An enjoyable, very short book. Does not take long to read at all. Mia as usual is totally insane, though she seems a bit stronger and willing to let some things just happen, than totally freaking out. She is stuck b/c Michael has already declared that he doesn't beleive in the propaganda for Valentine's day, but at the same time Mia really wants to give him one since it is their first one together.
   
   Its funny and the ending is very sweet.



4. Meg Cabot has done it again. I just love her princess collections. Each one is as sweet as it can be. the way mia and michael express their love and the way mia is always confused is really interpreted in a beautiful way..



5. Short, fluffy novella for the series about Mia's first Valentine's Day with Michael. Her grandmere has gotten entangled with an astrologer, and some of Mia's friends don't understand the spirit of the holiday. Fun, light reading. Grade: B
