1. I have to admit to being an absolute sop and say I LOVE CHRISTMAS and Christmas music. I am manic at this time of year. This is one of the most beautiful Christmas albums I have heard. Aled Jones has a beautiful soothing voice and being a traditionalist I love the songs he has chosen. It is worth buying this CD purely for the most haunting versions of the `Coventry Carol' you will ever hear. His duet on `Silent Night' with Hayley Westenra is also magnificent, along with my favourite carol `The Angel Gabriel'. He also sings a duet with himself on the bonus track `O Holy Night', himself as a boy soprano which will take your breath away. If you want a haunting, beautiful and soothing traditional Christmas album don't miss this one because it is a real Gem.



2. I stumbled across this album quite by accedent and it hasn't been off my CD player since. Aled Jones really has the most beautiful male voice I've ever heard. His beautiful renditions of some of the most well known and loved christmas carols, as well as some of the less well known is a delight to the ears. His versions of The Covantry Carol, The Angel Gabriel and God Rest You Merry Gentle men gave me goose bumps and his duet Silent Night sung with Hayley Westenra is really too beautiful for words to do it justice. This album really is not to be missed.

1. Sure, most of the songs below are "the usuals", but Connick's pleasant voice and excellent pacing make them very listenable. Most of the accompaniment falls into the jazz area.

1. I really enjoy listening to this album. Its a nice change from the traditional Christms music (eg. Bing Crosby), with a good selection of artists. The BNL and Sarah McLachlan song is excellent, but so is most of the album.
   The iTunes version has 19 songs - not sure why the difference.
   
   Buy this and the new Diana Krall christmas CD.



2. For those of you who have been faithfully collecting the Nettwerk Christmas compilations (Christmas Songs, Maybe This Christmas, Maybe This Christmas Too, Maybe This Christmas Tree), you already have most, if not all, of these songs. That doesn't change the fact that it is an excellent Best of, it's just a shame it isn't otherwise noted as such. These are still some great alternatives to the holiday music you get inundated with every time you leave your house from November through mid-January, and if you don't already own the original compilations, this is a great place to start.



3. This was a good addition to my Christmas collection and I have listened to it many times in the short time I have had it. There are some more cheerful songs but I would say overall it seem to me to be more of an emo Christmas collection. There are several songs that speak to unhappy or emotional experiences at this time of year. If you like unconventional Christmas music you should enjoy this album.



4. I ordered this cd based on what I heard on Itunes, and for some reason many of the best tracks included there are not actually on this cd. I was very disappointed by the lack of tracks: it really detracted from the overall album. Songs like The Weepies' "All That I Want" would have made the album a little more heartfelt and fun. The cd is not without its merits though: Dido's track is beautiful, and the Barenaked Ladies are always entertaining .



5. The music is good, but I guess I'm confused by this collection. Even the "big" CD choice of the 2 Winter's nights CD's here don't have everything on the iTunes selection, which is annoying. But, what you hear is great and a nice variety. "God Rest Ye...." is probably my favorite track and the reason I bought the album.

1. This is the best Christmas cd I've ever heard. I play it all the time. I got this the week of Thanksgiving, and I got a Viva Las Vegas DVD too. Ann has become my favorite singer because of these and she'll be your favorite after playing this CD. She's awesome and this music is awesome. I wonder if she's made a DVD of these songs? She could also dance to these cool Christmas songs like in Viva Las Vegas. I hope she'll sing these songs on TV just like she does on this CD with this same band and these cool musicians.



2. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but arrived very quickly and in perfect condition.



3. Since this CD came out three years ago , I find myself listening to it , even out of season. Ann Margret makes every song so sexy and wonderful to listen to. If given the chance, this Cd would get airplay. Listen up radio stations , give Bing, Frank and Burl Ives a rest this hoilday season , play Ann Margret!!



4. I bought this based on a single song I had by Ann-Margret on a Christmas Compilation album. That song was great, sexy and witty and festive. Alas, this album is a real let down. It's just all treacly goo. If you like overly sentimental Christmas music you'll like it.



5. Beware of an album that doesn't have an occasional crackpot review! To the reviewer that wanted this to be an entire whimsical, kitten-with-a-whip, lounge Christmas album from Ann Margret, I say "Humbug!" This masterpiece has everything from sexy holiday music to real Christmas music. But I want the heart-filled, dramatic Ann Margret sound and message of Christmas along with the light fluff---which is exactly the gem that we have here. The amazing Ann Margret blows us away with her dramatic interpretations of Christmas classics along with an occasional fresh, new song or adaptation. Here, throughout this record, she charms, she seduces, she uplifts, she glorifies, she praises, she rocks, she twangs, she croons, she does a "diva" turn. An England music magazine called this "the greatest Christmas album of the past 10 years by a female vocalist." I call it one of the Top 10 greatest Christmas records of all time. This will become a must-listen-to album for you and yours every holiday season, it will become a family tradition. And if you are like me, you'll sneak plays all through the year just for inspiration to brighten your spirits.

1. Four stars for the singers, not the sound quality. The major drawback to this CD is the static and occasional audience coughing on the recordings. Also, there are no linear notes. The first 8 tracks are Pavarotti, the second 8 Carreras, and the last 1 Domingo. It seems strange that they gave only one to Domingo, and that not strictly a Christmas song. Track 1, of Pavarotti singing "Minuit Chretien (O Holy Night)" is one of the best. Track 16, of Carreras singing "Stille Nact (Silent Night)" is also a stellar performance. Track 9, "White Christmas" is definitely a different twist on an American song, with Carreras' strong Spanish accent. There are quite a few repeat songs, with "Ave Maria", "Panis Angelicus", "Mille Cherubini in Coro", and "Adeste Fideles" sung by both Pavarotti and Carreras. If you like to compare performances, so much the better. Overall, it is an enjoyable selection of songs by top-notch singers, but on digitally remastered recordings.



2. I was expecting (or just hoping??) that this would be a Christmas CD featuring the 3 Tenors performing together... It's still enjoyable, just not what I was thinking that it should be. Why are they called the 3 Tenore whan you only get 1 Tenor at a time???
   Anyway, I am very satisfied with the vendor description ans service.

1. Three incredible voices in absolutely gorgeous harmony. And they sound like they're having so much fun! Close your eyes, and even in the summer, you'll feel like you're sitting in a cabin in the woods, with a roaring fire and snow falling outside.



2. These are three of the most beautiful female voices ever, and their harmonies are just lovely. You really should buy this c.d.



3. I originally bought this cd for "A Proper Cup of Coffee" and I found that the cd stayed in my cd player for months on end. What lovely voices and the range of styles on the from humorous to spiritual is just sublime.



4. I was at the recording of this, everything came together perfectly. These ladies have beautiful voices and were having a lot of fun. The last song on the album is pure magic. They were just finishing the song as the bells from the church rang, you can hear total silence as the people sit stunned in amazement.
   
   This is not just a holiday album, I listen to it all year long.



5. I ordered this twice, they sent three copies of Pianst, which I had not ordered. I returned the three wrong cd's and never was able to get the correct cd. Sorry
