2 comments about Smooth Grooves: Wedding Songs { Various Artists }.
- Nice cd to have if you wish to spend a quiet evening with the lady or man of your choice.
- This collection of songs is great when trying to decide on music for a wedding ceremony and even for a "first dance." Recordings from the various artists gave it different flavor.

5 comments about 8 Days of Christmas.
- That Eight Days of Christmas track really says it all about this shallow, tacky, soul-less drivel. Also, I admire her, but Beyonce needs to stop working on blue jeans and become a better musician. You can always tell a song she's written because her melodies and choruses are limited to the same four repetetive notes. See if the 8 days doesn't sound just like Independent Woman. Seriously. Why is she afraid to use the whole scale?
- I love this album! It rocks. It's up beat and fun. Instead of singing the same old songs the same old ways each song has a new flavor and style that brings new life and joy to Christmas. I enjoy listening to it every year. This is my all time favorite Christmas album.
- They're young, hot, and dominating the charts. But they just don't have what it takes to make a good holiday album.
Destiny's Child attempts to take traditional Christmas carols and make a modern, fan-geared holiday album. And, sorry to say, but it just doesn't work here.
The album opens with the title track, which I'll admit is a catchy spin off of the original "12 Days of Christmas." But the lyrics are ridiculous. Example: "On the eighth day of Christmas my baby gave to me/A pair of Chloe shades and a diamond belly ring."
The next track, "Winter Paradise" is the best of the original tracks on the disc. It's a more moderate R&B number that talks about Christmas memories. It's pretty good. But, "Spread a little love on Christmas" is about on the same level as the title track, but it focuses on all the other holidays going on at Christmas.
The girls DO get a few things right. The ridiculously-titled "Opera of the Bells" (featured on the Victoria's Secret holiday commercial) is a slowed-down version of "Carol of the Bells," complete with nice harmonies that are actually quite enjoyable. "This Christmas" is also complete with tight harmonies that give it an enjoyable spin and make it almost unrecognizable. "A DC Christmas Medley" is a fun assortment of kid's Christmas carols, such as "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," "Frosty," and "Holly, Jolly Christmas." And the best track on the disc, "Do You Hear what I Hear," is a wonderfully original take on the classic that doesn't wander too far from the original sound of it.
However, the album also takes a turn for the worst in a few places. "Platinum Bells" is a ludicrous cover of "Siver Bells" that talks about the group's success (platinum albums). And the cover of "The Little Drummer Boy" is absolutely laughable. The girls don't even get the story right! ("And then he smiled at me/the little drummer boy smiled at me" -- correction... baby Jesus smiled at you, and YOU ARE the little drummer boy!)
Download the few good tunes off this album from I-tunes and save yourself the money of every single song on here. Trust me, buying the whole CD is not worth it.
Best Song: "Do You Hear What I Hear" (great original take, true to classic song)
The good:
"Winter Paradise" (enjoyable, laid-back original with good harmonies)
"This Christmas" (a different take, very original)
"A DC Christmas Medley" (it's fun)
"Opera of the Bells" (nice harmonies)
The OK:
"Silent Night" (pretty good, but Beyonce oversings it)
"8 Days of Christmas" (catchy, but with stupid lyrics)
"Spread a Little Love on Christmas" (ditto)
The bad:
"The Little Drummer Boy" (at least get the story right)
"White Christmas" (I don't like their version of this)
"Platinum Bells" (too stupid to even laugh at... worst track on the album)
"O Holy Night" (I'm very critical of covers of this song because it's my favorite Christmas tune and Michelle's voice just doesn't fit it)
- I was looking for a Christmas album that was a little more upbeat than the norm. I thought Destiny's Child did a pretty good job of it. Their songs are fast-paced and fun! I'm not normally a fan of Destiny's Child but enjoyed this CD rather than the slower-paced Christmas CDs we are used to.
- not great but good. of course i am a lil biased considering i praise myself as the biggest dc3 fan in the world lol

5 comments about Christmas...A Time for Peace.
- This is my all time favorite Christmas CD. It combines the sounds of nature with beautiful renditions of Christmas favorites. I have just about worn out my CD, and am planning to order another one, so one can be in my car as well as in my home CD player. Light the fire, have a glass of wine, and put this CD in for a truly romantic Christmas evening.
- Wonderful! I purchased this music on Cassette in 1992-93. I have been looking for it on CD ever since. I too need this Christmas music for car and home, and concerned that I might wear out the tape before finding it on CD.
Christmas a time for peace, takes you on a holiday journey through the sounds of the Season.....it is the first holiday music I put on & the last to be put away for another year! Today I found Dino Collector's series, 2 cd's, in my Christian Book store WOW. Beautifully arranged classical & Gospel Music. The most beautiful music I have ever purchased! Enjoy, Marilyn Lewis
- I first heard this album when my sister brought it home from a shopping trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, with the words, "You have GOT to hear this."
If you're looking for a unique sound to Christmas, this is the album for you. In addition to the familiar tunes, the background sounds add a whole new level of listening enjoyment. A crowd of folks coming in to town from the train station accompany "Merry Christmas, Darling." The sounds of lambs baa-ing are in the background of "O Little Town of Bethlehem." And my personal favorite - quite unique! - is the sounds of crickets and other summertime insects during "Silent Night" played on, of all things, the harmonica. When Dino's piano plays "O come let us adore him" in time with the harmonica's "Silent night, holy night"...well, it makes for auditory magic. I heartily recommend this to anyone wanting something a little different for their Christmas music fare.
- This is hard to find, but cokesbury.com may still have a few copies left.
- I got this CD as a mistake from one of the vendors at Amazon. I was going to send it back but never got around to it. So one hot evening in August I came across it again and thought I'd give it a spin for giggles. Was I taken by suprise. This is a great piece of work ( yeah it's full of fluff, but it's so much more...). What a mind picture this produced for me. I was taken back in time to a more innocent age, with PJ's on in front of a glowing fire with a warm feeling of peace in my heart, and family past and present all around. It took me home to a lot of good places. When I got to track 7 it just took off from there. Not sure where it will take you, but I think it's worth the trip..........Don't forget the hot cocoa. Keep safe and warm, peace to all.........

5 comments about Halloween II: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
- The Halloween II soundtrack is an 80's version of the 1st. The main theme sounds way different is less scary but still pretty good. The songs I recommend are Halloween Theme, Lauries Theme, The Shape Stalks Again, and Mr. Sandman. Again in many of the tracks there are random sound effects. Mr. Sandman would go better if put with the Nightmare soundtrack. A good piece to the Halloween collection.
- With the music of the original halloween getting an improvisation here in the sequel, the soundtrack stands as the best soundtrack of all the halloween movies. from the opnening theme, to the 1-minutes stalking music, to the bonus "mr. sandman," halloween II is definitely the soundtrack to get creepy with.
As a teen, i have always wanted to acquire this soundtrack way back in vinyl form in 1981. i got this cd in 1995, and never regretted from then on that i did purchase this soundtrack, if only to immortalize the alarm-clock, heartbeat, synthesized horror i was looking for!
- This is overall the best score to Halloween!!!! It gives creepy sounds to Halloween Theme, a polyphonic version of Laurie's Theme. Its basically the same thing done over by Alan Howarth. You can hear the piano in Laurie's Theme right off the bat. Great soundtrack!!!! Worth every penny!!!! Also check out my new Soundtrack for Halloween: The Awakening!
- HALLOWEEN II OST IS ONE EERIE SOUNDTRACK! HALLOWEEN II STANDS TO ME AS ONE OF, IF NOT THE CREEPIEST HALLOWEEN SOUNDTRACK. HERE'S WHY: 1. HALLOWEEN II MAINTAINS THE "ORIGINAL THEMES" ALONG WITH SOME NEW IDEAS. 2. JOHN CARPENTER'S ASSOCIATION WITH ALAN HOWARTH BRINGS TOGETHER TWO GENIUS FORMS OF TALENT. WHILE THE ORIGINAL HALLOWEEN SOUNDTRACK IS A MASTERPIECE, HALLOWEEN II'S FEATURED ELECTRONIC ORGAN BUILDS VOLUME TO THE ORIGINAL THEMES WHILE STILL KEEPING SOME PIANO-BASED TRACKS, SUCH AS "HE KNOWS WHERE SHE IS!" OVERALL, HALLOWEEN II'S ENHANCED SOUNDTRACK IS A HALLOWEEN "CLASSIC."
- This has to be one of the best scores in the Halloween series. It has a synthesized-type sound in the opening Michael Myers' theme that sounded better than the original (Halloween 1) piano track. The synthesized/electronically altered score throughout actually works well, especially track 5 "Murder Montage" which is a collection of several cues showing Myers' homicidal violence, including the hydrotherapy tub-scalding-murder. In his demented mission of murder, Michael Myers had some assistance from Carpenter & Howarth in creating a score that's as creepy as the movie it's written for.

- This limited edition CD by Bianca Ryan is an incredibly great CD! It has 5 tracks: Why Couldn't It Be Christmas Everyday, Someday At Christmas, Home On Christmas Day, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, and O Holy Night.
All are masterfully and professionally done by Bianca. Her passion, power, control, range, interpretation, and beautiful voice, make this a gem of a CD. It is essential for any fan of Bianca Ryan!
- There's five songs on this CD and all of them is five-stars quality! You will NOT regret buying it even so as a christmas present so someone you care about or would like to have a better relationship with ;)
If you bought here first CD last year you might have a second thought about this one - don't - this is what it's all about! Beautiful voice, great mixing and.. what the first CD should have been!
- bianca was a AGT winner 2 years ago, havent heard from her since, not surprising with material like this, she tends to "shout" most of the song, not recomended

5 comments about Radio Disney Holiday Jams.
- Great Christmas Music for all ages. Great selection of songs and musicians all on one CD!
- This is a very good Christmas CD! The best song has to be Myra's "Frosty the Snowman." If you enjoyed this song, be sure to pick up her CD called, "Myra."
- This CD totally brings the holiday spirt out in ages young to old! Celebrate this year with these timeless songs!
- Sometimes I pull out this CD in the middle of the summer to bring me back to the most special time of the year. I really like SHeDAISY's "Deck the Halls" and "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee. "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" is still funny every time I hear it. It's good that this is a mix of holiday classics and newer artists too!
- I usually don't like anything that Disney puts its name on. If its a CD, it means that hilary duff, jesse, raven, aaron, aly/aj or something will be on it. So when we ordered this, I thought it would be trash.
But it had ShEdAiSy's deck the halls, which is a favorite, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, NSYNC(which is actually okay) and NO hilary duff! We also got Jingle Jams and it wasn't as good as this CD. So if you want to buy a disney holiday album, buy this one!

5 comments about Season's Greetings from Dean Martin.
- Nifty little (only 25 minutes) cd for your holiday collection. Holiday and just plain winter time classics crooned only the way Dino could do it.
- Dean Martin's "Season's Greetings" is the only Dean Martin album I own--a friend got it for me after being shocked that it was not part of our Christmastime CD collection. I have been really very pleasantly surprised by it. What an incredibly smooooooth voice this native Ohioan was blessed with, and how skillfully he uses it! The album opens with "White Christmas," on which Martin conveys regret and longing beautifully. The very next song--"Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" is a gorgeously boppy, finger-poppin' Rat Pack rendition of this classic Christmas tune. Martin sounds as though he's holding a martini and a cigarette while he's singing, and that's part of the fun. What can I say--the guy was the epitome of cool!
On the underused "Baby, It's Cold Outside," Martin tries to convince a cadre of female singers to stay inside with him ("I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice")--I know I'd be convinced! "Winter Wonderland" incorporates sleigh bells, smooth violins, and oohing-aahing background singers to evoke a fantasy winter snowscape. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" never sounded as good and as swingin' as it does here in Martin's capable hands. His voice is so mellow, so rich, so inimitably smooth that every song is a delight. Highly recommended!
- Buy the Capital release entitled "A Winter's Romance", and get an ORIGINAL with all 13 songs, not 10. This CD is a CHEAP RIPOFF!
- Collecting Dino from back in the Jerry days (50s). Have this timeless
christmas songs from first "A Winter Romance" and so "Holliday Cheer" LPs.
This is a well done RR BUT it's NOT the cover you see pictured on the
product In my case it was o.k. as I dont have this one ever but
it's very inportant for a collector that what you see is what you got.
Roland
- From Dean Martin's years with Capitol records, comes this collection of Christmas songs (There are many other repackagings these songs; all are pretty much the same). This is a warm, smooth and varied Christmas CD. Dino is quite capable on old Christmas standards like "White Christmas" and "Let It Snow", but "Christmas Blues" also reveals that the Dean can also sing the blues. Dino's comedic talent is also put to good use in his version of "Rudolph" and "Baby It's Cold Outside". Although only a little more than a half hour of music, Dean Martin's "Season's Greetings" should be an essential part of your Christmas library.
