1. Another great CD by Dave Koz and Friends - he seems to have alot of them! This CD really gets you in the Holiday Spirit.



2. If you liked this, do a search for Terry Zylman. His CD "Moods of the Season" is wonderful. While it contains many of the Christmas classics, my favorite songs are the ones you won't find on other CD's. "Joseph's Song" is incredibly poignant and moving while "Fireplace" is dreamy and soothing. Many of you will recognize "Christmas Time is Here" from "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Mr. Zylman is an incredibly gifted musician, who has created a timeless listening experience you will enjoy for years to come. "Smooth Jazz Christmas" is one of my favorites during the holiday season, and my favorite of Dave Koz' Christmas CD's. Not only do you get to enjoy Koz, but several other talented artists as well. I think my favorite track is "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" but the "Smooth Jazz Christmas Overture" medley is terrific. Happy Holidays!



3. I usually love the music and styling and Dave Koz. I expected this to be exactly what the title said --- Smooth jazz, but it's more an assorted mix of styles. I played it one time, ended up burning the 3 titles I did like to a Christmas CD, and will probably never listen to the original CD again.



4. This album is filled with inconsistency. Even within a single song, the artist moves from mellow to racing. This is across songs. Vocals could be left out altogether, and what was there was not good work.



5. This is a good CD for the holidays. It offers a different twist on the classics. It will make a nice addition to anyone's smooth jazz holiday collection.

1. I rarely write reviews, but just had to write about this amazing CD. It's not your typical kiddie-fare. My three kids (ages 4, 6, and 8) listen to this one over and over again, and my husband and I are hooked, too. We are not into jazz at all, but the songs here are so catchy and fun. It's cool enough that you could even play it at an adult function, and everyone would like it. In fact, I'm buying it for my mom, who is 64, because I know that she'll be singing it around the house in no time at all -- just like we do!



2. My grandson Carlos love this CD. He is four years old and has learned half the songs.This is a great way to introduce a variety of music .



3. Not only do my children expand their horizons by listening to jazz, but I am able to listen to the cd over and over and over, and over some more every single day. My son-3- just loves it and asks for it every time we get in the van. Once the cd starts, he starts singing and doesn't want anybody singing or talking so that he can hear all of it again. Needless to say, my daughter, who is two loves it as much. Highly recommend this to anyone. By the way, we have to have it in the van and in the house, along with other favorites.

   This is real grown-up music with kid friendly selections.

5. Our son isn't big enough to fully appreciate this CD yet (he is 10 months old) but his parents love it! We play this for him during mealtime and all of us have a good time. We sing along, he smiles (and sometimes eats) and we are all entertained. My husband is a musician and is a critical music consumer...this rated five stars from him as well.

1. Bette Midler never disappoints and this collection of Christmas songs is no exception. Especially Cool is the duet with Johnny Mathis.



2. Bette Midler released her first Christmas album. Thank goodness! This album is a rockin', fun album with a sense of joy that is missing from a lot of Christmas albums by contemporary artists. This is one of my favorite Christmas albums already, and I've only had it for one season. I highly recommend it.



3. Once again Bette Midler manages to record an album that is fun and merry, which couldn't be better for a Christmas album. It is always nice to hear new Christmas songs: "Merry Christmas", "Cool Yule", "Mele Kalikimaka"; all of which are fantastic in their own right. I especially liked the "Mele Kalikimaka" which has a Hawaiian theme (Bette's place of birth), and "Cool Yule" is simply catchy and upbeat which adds to the seasons cheer.
   Of course old standards with Bette's vocals always sound good: "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", "Winter Wonderland/Let It Snow! Let It Snow! (excellent duet with the incomparable Johnny Mathis), "I'll Be Home For Christmas" (sounds forlorn enough to make you cuddle up by yourself and still feel good about it), "I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm" (typical Bette and sung in a style that no one can duplicate), "O Come, O Come Emmanual", "From A Distance" (nice reworking of an old song; sounds new again), "White Christmas" (a nice way to end the album, very touching and Christmas like).
   I enjoyed this album immensely and would recommend this to anyone who loves Bette Midler, and for those who are looking to buy new Christmas themed albums.



4. She is a true entertainer, very few of them around these days. She has a wonderful voice and energy about her and does so many great Christmas/holiday tunes to enjoy and it always in my mox at Christmas time.



5. The Divine Miss M has created yet another stunning piece of work! You hear all the wonderful colors of her voice in this album. From the jazzy Cool Yule to the somber O Come Emmanuel. This is definitely one of my favorite Christmas albums!

1. I preordered this CD and I'm so glad I did. This CD is perfect for curling up with on a dark and cold night. It not only has Christmas songs, but also Thanksgiving and New Year's. Each song is so perfect I can't even begin to pick a favorite.

4. After listening to this CD, I've fallen in love with Jim Brickman's music all over again. The CD has so many beautiful holiday songs. I especially love Coming Home for Christmas sung by Richie MacDonald. Now if I could get Jim to write a beautiful love song for my all time favorite romantic crooner singer (won't give name) life would be perfect!



5. A friend of mine told me about Brickman because I had never heard of him but once I listened to some of his music I can honestly say that she was right because his music is mellow, soothing and quite good.

1. A good holiday CD, had all types of Christmas songs, hymns, pop, instrumental. Great for the season.



2. This is a classic Christmas Album! Great renditions of old standards and new material. With 40 songs, including 3 medleys, it's a great value.

Not only was the product shipped to the wrong address, the charge for the purchase was my paypal account, that for some reason charged to an expired credit card that was for some reason still in the system. I have been contacted by a collection agency to collect the $14 for the product plus a $45 returned payment fee!!! Ouch!!! You guys are really slipping.



5. This has been a favorite of mine for 20-30 yrs and her voice and her brothers arrangements on these Christmas classics are amazing to me and very traditional as how I like to see and hear the Christmas season.

1. I must be getting sentimental since having children, but this is the only Christmas CD I routinely put on. It is so good, I bought a replacement one this year when either I lost it or my 3 year old confiscated it...only time will tell what happened. Amy Grant really can sing the xmas stuff.



2. This is one of my favorite Christmas CD's! I love every song on it!



3. Although I have known about Amy Grant for some years, I did not have any of her recordings in my collection. Then I heard the song "Breath of Heaven" on the radio and it absolutely captured my attention. "Home for Christmas" is a wonderful collection of Christmas standards and some songs which may not be as familiar to you. All are well produced and recorded. Amy's voice is as smooth and rich as honey and every song is done to perfection. Even if you already have a large collection of Christmas music, make room for this one. It's definitely worth your money.



4. I first bought the tape of this many, many years ago as I am a huge fan of Amy Grant's christian music. I have since listened to this (now CD) every year during the holidays and my Christmas would not be complete without it. The songs are beautiful and very meaningful. It's a great album for "little ears" to listen to as well. I highly recommened this CD to anyone looking for a warm and cozy Christmas album to enjoy the holidays with.



5. This is Amy Grant's second Christmas album, and it's a lovely effort. It's full of fun, spiritual, and sweet Christmas songs. From "It's the most wonderful time of the year" to "The Night Before Christmas", it's wonderful christmas songs all the way through. Amy sounds especially good on "Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song)" (Written by herself and another writer), and "Grown-up Christmas List", as well as "Winter Wonderland." It is a beautiful Christmas album, one that the whole family can enjoy.

1. This is great children's CD. I use it daily in my preschool classroom. The songs are catchy and educational.I particulary like "Hand Jive". This is a song where children listen to clapping beats and repeat back the same beat. Great fun! I also like "The Days of the Week" songs in English and Spanish. This is a great way to help children learn about another language in an easy,fun way. I would recommend this CD to anyone who works with children.It is a great CD for parents to keep in the car for those long car rides.



2. Another must for subs and teachers of primary elementary grades. Songs are lively and active and kids love them.

5 comments about Home Alone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

1. This makes for wonderful background music if you are making your own home movies with family and friends for Christmas. A must for any music lovers collection.



2. This CD is FANTASTIC, just what I was wanting. It follows the sequence of the movie perfectly, and it great.



3. this is a great cd to listen when doing almost anything. i had bought it for my sister for Christmas and she has been listening to it 24-7 when studying for her college midterms. great cd i would recommend it



4. Home Alone has a great score and the music is original. The use of the different variety of bells really captures a christmas spirit. However, a lot of the themes are repeated over, and over ,and over again. Especially "somewhere in my memory". Don't get me wrong, I love this piece, but i don't need to hear it in almost every single score track of the soundtrack. "Holiday flight" is very good. It captures exactly what it feels like to be rushing and sets a hectic mood.
   
   The choir versions of "star of bethlehem" , "carol of the bells", and "O holy night" are very good. It is also nice to have a few of the vocal tracks like "White christmas" are nice too.
   
   Overall, this is a good soundtrack to have in your collection, just don't look for a lot of different unique tracks.



5. I'm a huge fan of the Home Alone movie, and have watched it every holiday for the last decade and a half. It's like a family tradition. Having said that, you can understand how listening to the soundtrack allows the movie to play inside my head.
   
   Every theme is here in its complete form. None of the tracks feel truncated or compacted. At $7 bucks, this is a steal for fans of the movie. If you haven't seen the movie (you really ought to!) you'll still enjoy one of Williams' few playful-but-dramatic scores out there.
