- I highly recommend this to anybody who loves Christmas music. It has some of the best christmas songs of all time and Kenny Rogers does a incredible job on this album.
- Kenny Rogers has released a plethora of Christmas albums, and of the ones I have this is the best. The title song is a very appropriate mix of patriotism and Christmastime-a seemingly odd combination that works very, very well.
Except for this genre-bundling selection which is reprised throughout the disk, all the other songs are well-known Christmas standards. In addition to the title track's uncommon concoction, the disk also departs from the norm by featuring a snippet of this tune between all the other songs and having the music play constantly; there are no silent pauses between cuts.
- As another reviewer has already said, Kenny Rogers has released many Christmas CDs, and this is probably the best with "Once Upon a Christmas" with Dolly Parton a close second. I have this album from its original release on tape, and I was pleased to find it now on CD; also, it is because it came out at the time that CDs were young that "Christmas in America" has a reprise--on the tape, it's the beginning of Side 2. It's also interesting to note that the title song was written by Dolly Parton. This is a great collection of mostly traditional Christmas songs sang as only Kenny can.
- I have admired the contributions Kenny Rogers has made in music through the years. This Christmas collection proves just that. The title track gets me a little emotional at times when I hear it. I do enjoy his rendition of Winter Wonderland. Good Christmas sounds from The Gambler!

- This CD is like totally AWESOME! You should buy this, it's great!- Buy this! It's appropriate, happy, and fun!
- I think that this cd is soooo GREAT!! after listening to a few songs, your heart will be filled with joy and the christmas spirit. I especially liked the song " Christmas don't be late". It was funny in the beginning and the middle when the man was talking to Alvin and Alvin wasn't paying attention and the man had to scream his name to get Alvin's attention. hehe haha. :-D
IF YOU ARE WONDERING IF YOU WANT TO GET THIS CD. YES!!DO. ITS THE BEST!!!!it is soooo christmasy
- this cd is sooooooo great. i mean it brings joy and happiness to all the people who listen to it. they also sing so cute. alsmost all of the songs i know so its easy to sing along
if you are sondering if you want to get this cd. well the answer is YES!!!OF COURSE!!ITS GREAT!!why not. it bring joy, happiness, smiles, christmas to everyone that hears it in your house!!GO FOR IT!!!
-a child
- Why you ask? I could barely hear the chipmunks over the music! I had to crank the volume up WAY loud and I could still barely hear the chipmunks over the music. I have listned to another Chipmunks Christmas album and had no problem hearing them at all. But this one was bad. Sad as I love the chipmunks even though I am an adult!
- Please note to get instead the new great sounding Capitol 2007 release which has all 24 songs (includes both Volumes 1 & 2) plus one bonus and is very reasonably priced. The 2006 version has a recording flaw. This is a classic Christmas album that should be FULLY enjoyed and the 2007 is the best version out there!

- Ron Isley must have recorded this while he was still in jail! He sounds high and i can't believe that they are promoting their CD and not Patti laBelle's Hot new x-mas Cd which is 1 million times better go get that not this!
- This CD will be loved by the true Isley Brothers fan. I've been a fan for years and this CD captures the pre "Mr Bigg" era at it's best. Ron Isley's voice is heavenly on the eight Christmas classics. The two original songs "I'm In Love" and "What Can I Buy You" are Isley Brothers gems that will go down in history and be added to a long list of unmistakable music. Jam & Lewis and Big Jim did a great job on this CD.

- Had to wait a long time, but it was sure worth it.
A lot of these songs on this CD will become radio classics.
You have to appreciate Ron, his voice is better than ever & Ernie's guitar on "What Can I Buy You" will surely take you back to classic Isleys.
- i read the reviews and made my choice with suggestios from others. i sampled some of the reccomended cuts and decided the listeners were right

5 comments about Have yourself a FAB-ulous Little Christmas.
- If you are a Beatles fan then this is the Christmas album for you. The Fab Four are a Beatles Tribute Band, and they make an excellent job of the singing. Most of the tracks on this second album continue in the way of their first, and use material from the later Beatles period. What's really clever is the way you start off listening to a familiar Beatles into, and instead of the lyrics you are used to, a Christmas carol or song emerges. The time they must have taken to get this right, and at one point I really thought they had stolen the Beatles backing tracks, but no they play them all themselves.
- clever, thoughtful fun for the holidays. a must have for any fan of the beatles. worth at least three times more than what you will pay for it here.
- This album is very cleverly done. If you are a Beatles fan you will appreciate how good the instrumentation is and how clever some of the touches are.
- Awesome for Beatle fans. Very very interesting and clever way of making your favorite Beatle tunes Christmas songs.
- Chistmas tunes set to the music of classic Beatles songs.
The novelity wears off quickly.

- This is a beautiful collection of holiday music artfully performed and creatively arranged. I find myself playing it throughout the year! You won't be disappointed, in fact, you'll love it.
- I have this and the 2000 Hawaiian Slack Key Christmas cut. Both are fabulous but if you had to choose one, I'd favor the 1996 cut for the sweet, mellow sound... the old style.
- I love slack key and the condition of this CD is awesome. The timely manner in which I was notified of its pending delivery and the delivery itself was very satisfactory. Thank you Amazon and all those who are a part of this family!

Jeanne

1 comments about Comfort and Joy.
- This is great ambient music for holiday gatherings and for playing in your car. I appreciate the blend of styles used in this work as well as hearing the more "nontraditional" songs. I was least enamored with their rendition of "Angels We Have Heard on High." Perhaps I have too much of the traditional rendering of this song in my head to appreciate what was attempted here. It felt choppy and disjointed. However, the exquisite oboe on other songs more than made up for this initial disappointment. "O Little One" "Walking in the Air" and "Masters in This Hall/March of the Three Kings" conveys the "comfort and joy" of the album title as well as the sentiments of the Season. I won't soon tire of this gem!

- No regrets buying this CD. It will surely be played in our house for many holidays to come. Billy Gilman did a perfect job interpreting these classic Christmas songs. The "Warm and Fuzzy" song is very enjoyable. Good luck to him in 2008!

- This is my favorite of Kurt's four Christmas CDs. It sounds as if he is in my front room playing for me personally. Highly recommended listening!
- In his only solo piano release, Bestor brings to "One Silent Night," the wonderful emotion and engaging arrangements that he has always incorporated in his more orchestrated albums. Never too intellectual, yet anything but ordinary, this CD will let you relax, and, if you wish, take a very interesting musical journey through some tried and true holiday classics. It's a refreshing change from the often over-produced holiday fair that so often adorns the musical shelves this season.

5 comments about Christmas Through the Years.
- Louis Armstrong was definitely a one-and-only. This CD shows off his skills as both a musician and an entertainer, provided you get the right CD. If the first track on your CD is not "Cool Yule", then you got ripped off! Return it and go get the right one because you'll also be missing "White Christmas", "Winter Wonderland", and "Christmas Night In Harlem". For some reason, even the "right one" throws in some non-Christmas songs to fill up the CD... I guess that is what you get for a budget price.
"Gone Fishin'" isn't even a Winter time song, but it features Bing Crosby who just sounds Christmas-y.
"Joseph 'N' his Brudders" is based on the Bible, so close enough.
"What A Wonderful World", well, everybody loves that song, don't they?
Along with "Cool Yule", some of the other stand-out Christmas tracks include "'Zat You Santa Claus?" and Satchmo's unique reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas". It's hard to describe his duet (with Velma Middleton) on "Baby It's Cold Outside". He either couldn't remember his part of the lyrics, or just felt like making up some new ones. Either way, it's pretty funny.
While it's not perfect, it's arguable the best Christmas CD you'll get for this price. Just make sure you get the right one!
- Laser Light's usual crappy quality. Bad selection of songs, horrible sound quality and no liner notes. Stay away from this and anything with the Laser Light label.
- Louis Armstrong can put a smile to anyone's face, and this CD is no exception. What happened to that New Orleans jazz style? It seems that it can make everyone happy, but it seems to be extinct in today's world. Quite a shame. However, we do have the recordings of all the greats of yesteryear. This CD is a wonderful album to listen to before Christmas. For anyone who gets into the mood quite early along with all the department stores, it is perfect. You could listen to this CD before Thanksgiving because it isn't solely Christmas songs. It also includes semi-Christmas songs like "Baby, It's Cold Outside" with Velma Middleton and non-Christmas songs like "Hello Dolly" and "Blue Moon."
It is exciting to hear Louie banter with the audience and with guests on the CD; it shows that he was able to make people smile outside of his music as well.
- Satchmo's recitation of "The Night Before Christmas" establishes this CD as a certifiable gem! Absolutely superb. Indeed.
- This CD includes some non-xmas music, but all selections are great. No one can recite 'Twas the night before xmas' like Louis did!
