- This movie brings back a lot of memories. And who ever wrote the offical review needs an additude adjustment cause there may be some strange parts in it but it is a gret movie! Tim Curry Rocks!
- I loved the book so much as a child that I read it to death! I've added the D.V.D to my wish list with my fingers crossed and hope to get it for my 8 year old son. Just an excuse for me to watch it though! I'm 28 now and am so glad to find it still popular all these years later, Mildred Hubble is the clumsy young girl we can all identify with. It's full of characters that are so like those we meet when at school that you feel empathy with Mildred. Who remembers the square creep like Ethel?
Definitly a must for nostalga and will live on in generations to come!
- I don't know what those reviews below are.... But I think this series is better than that film.. DEFINITELY
This DVD is a great, charming, NOT CHEESY & A MORE MODERN adaption of the Jill Murphy books, starring GEORGINA SHERRINGTON as Mildred Hubble, the cute bumbling witch. A co production from Canada/United Kingdom-for HBO family. This is the second DVD---Battle Of The Broomsticks being the first----it contains three episodes. And is definitely viewable NOT JUST ON HALLOWEEN--- A MEAN HALLOWEEN----In the first episode, the girls learn that the school is preparing to put on a play for the grand wizard ---Miss Bats wants to do this hip Halloween song, but Miss HardBroom insists it be traditional. Miss HardBroom's class has been chosen to represent the school, which makes her a little wary, because Mildred's in her class--To choose who will play the good witch Lucy who rescues the suffering peasants from a tyrannical Baron in the play, Miss HardBroom wants to be fair and picks the name out of a cauldron---and wouldn't you know it, it's Mildred! Mildred's part means she has to brush up on her Broom flying skills. And she can't fly very well, on HER broom---since in the first episode it was broken in half and clumsily repaired with packing tape-- so Ethel reluctantly offers her broom, but she just can't be nice to poor Mildred and casts a spell on it --subsequently ruining the presentation when Mildred crashes in to the grand wizard. Now everyone thinks it's Mildreds fault the school was humiliated--Mildred runs away EPISODE TWO--DOUBLE DOUBLE TOIL AND TROUBLE Is a continuance of episode one---Mildred discovers a plot to overtake the school by over-hearing three witches in the forest---one of whome looks remarkably like Miss Cackle--- Their plan is to sneak into the school and turn all the students and teachers into toads, since after Halloween it's a tradition for everyone to oversleep, it may have been easy if it weren't for Mildred! In the third episode---MONKEY BUSINESS--- We meet new comer Enid Nightshade, Mildred is in charge of showing the new girl around. Enid is kind of quiet at first. And she thinks the castle is pretty boring, no matter how exciting Mildred tries to make it sound. But she's making trouble for Mildred--she purposely sings off key in chanting class, making Mildred laugh. Mildred finds out she keeps a monkey "Coco"--- And she after she sees how mean Ethel is, Enid sabotages a stage set to fall right on her head----of course Miss HardBroom thinks it was Mildred--she gives Enid and Mildred the chore of scrubbing the staircase---but Enid ditches the job to have more fun Mean while, Mr. Blossom is battling some kind of mutant fungus growing on the castle walls (yuk!) And Enids monkey escapes from her room--going out Ethel's window, and putting on her school uniform tie in the process of climbing out on to the roof---Mildred has to chase after it on her broom---and we know flying isn't Mildred strong suit---- When HB sees Coco wearing Ethel's school uniform tie she thinks it's Ethel------Well we eventually see Enid isn't all that bad, when she comes to clear every thing up ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a delightful, whimsical and nicely presented---- If you're familiar with this series from HBO (and like it) THAT'S GREAT! --If you're not; check it out! Great for children and people young at heart---beautifully filmed with great sets and outdoor scenes shot in the gorgeous Canadian countryside and forest---and with a wonderful cast--- VERY CUTE, WHOLESOME and LIKEABLE MM & BB ;-)
- The story line is ok but the series sucks!
See the Original movie with a fetching young Fairuza Balk as Mildred Hubble.
Even my niece who's 7 hated this movie but loved the original. When she saw that there was a series on tape she made me buy the first one then cried when she saw it and wanted to break it.
If you can, skip the music video by Curry and concentrate on the movie. You'll love it !!!!!!!!!!

- This DVD, released last year, is an absolutely terrific representation of John Carpenter's vision of terror in a suburban setting. The picture is nice and crisp, thanks to THX, the sound and video system developed by Lucasfilm, a great restoration of this true classic of horror. In the film, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is terrorized by the man who later is found out to be her brother, Michael Myers, an unstoppable juggernaut of a masked killer. Myers is pursued by his Doctor, Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasance in a very memorable role), who seems to encounter hints of Myers' evil as he chases him down to attempt to apprehend or kill him. 30 years later, this film still does not disappoint to frighten everyone. But hey, as Sheriff Leigh Brackett points out, "Everyone's entitled to one good scare." Plus there is a terrific behind the scenes featurette, along with cast bio and behind-the-scenes photos. Get this one if you can. 5 stars!!!
- I've watched this movie many times over the years. It's creepy and scary, yet it has no gore. If you like horror classics with a good, creepy score, rent it. You'll be satisfied. I would like to buy it and you might, too!
- I think HALLOWEEN has been around so long that nothing new can be said about it. It is a classic and shall forever be. I was a senior in high school when it came out. It has forever changed the Halloween season for me. I cannot imagine Halloween without HALLOWEEN. I think it has a lot more meaning for us "older" kids. Just like DAWN OF THE DEAD, FRIDAY THE 13th, CARRIE, and my personal favorite, THE SHINING. they were all pioneer movies. The music and the mood of these films will never be matched, copied, yes. I highly recommend all five of these movies. There are alot of other decent horror movies out also, but if I want to "go back in time", I just pop in one of these and let the memories & goosebumps start.
- I watched the movie and was quite impressed at how great it looked for such an old movie. I popped in my old regular dvd and WOW! Man was it poor quality. This Blu-ray rocks!
- An old classic now better than ever. I bought as a gift for my son.
He loves it.

5 comments about Halloween II: The Nightmare Isn't Over!.
- I love HALLOWEEN II! I love how it takes place right after the original ended! Michael has been shot six times by Dr. Loomis, but he gets up and walks away! Loomis continues his hunt and Laurie Strode is taken to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. Michael stalks the hospital in search for Laurie. Loomis finds out something about Michael that he NEVER knew. I love the showdown at the ending with Michael, Loomis, and Laurie. HALLOWEEN II is a treat for any and all fans of HALLOWEEN, horror, and slashers!
- The horror continues and it should have ended the series after this one.
Buy you know Hollywood????????
Any chance to milk a franchise to death and they'll do it.
Is this as good as the first? No.
It's a good continuation of the first one.
The classic cast is back and the story is great.
However........... H2 starts to go in a more typical horror direction with this one and every one after it.
Less intense thriller than the first and more of a typical Hollywood bloodbath.
The intensity is lost among the increasing body count.
More blood, more gore, less brilliance.
They messed with the music too, not as scary, not as effective.
Still, a must see for fans of the original and the last decent one in the series until Halloween H20.
- What makes Hallowen II a good a slasher sequel is that director Rick Rosenthal had a lot of help from the films writers Debra Hill and John Carptener. The hosptial setting gives the film a dark atmopshere and although the film isn't as scary it's fun.
- just a tip that box set IS NOT worth it. If you want all the movies> walmart has halloween 1 for $10, H-2, H-3 combo pack for i think $8.00 and then theres BEst bUY whom has H-4, H-5 for $15 ea. Walmart just got in recently a NEW odd never seen b4 till recent a box set of Halloween 6, 7, 8 combo for $15. Buy it if yur a hard core fan. Good $ price for 3 movies!! Plus just about anywhere has the 2007 vs of halloween for about $20 i think. so for bout $85 you can get all the Halloween movies if you got the $$$ and are a hard core fan! SOOOO wish a produceers cut of H=6 would come out. I heard its about 45min of additional footage that the theatrical release didnt show?? for whatever reason... SO there you go... AND another Halloween movie a sequal from last years (2007) will be out in 2009 i heard>?? who knows the more remakes and or ssequals they make there just ruining what few great halloween movies there are currently. If there going to make a sequal make one w/ john(josh hartnett) lauries son coming back and facing michael one last time or something like that. who knows what those joker producers will end up doing???
- HAPPY THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY, MICHAEL MYERS!!!
"Halloween II" is one of the best sequels ever made in horror history. It begins exactly where the first one ended - Michael Myers is shot and falls from the balcony. Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasance reprise their roles as Laurie Strode and Dr. Sam Loomis. John Carpenter and Debra Hill wrote the suspenseful script and Rick Rosenthal provided great direction. The eerie trademark soundtrack from the original is also used in this superb sequel.
If you enjoy a high body count, you will enjoy "Halloween II." Michael Myers pursues Laurie Strode to the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital; he begins dispatching the entire staff within its sanitized, claustrophobic corridors. In this sequel, we learn why Michael Myers is intent on destroying Laurie. We also learn that Michael Myers is well versed in the ancient occult religion of Druidism.
Michael Myers is Samhain, the Lord of the Dead. He can't be killed because he is already dead. Satanic evilness has possessed his body and given it the illusion of life. Bullets and fire can not stop him.
This film is a must see for fans of high body count slasher flicks and horror films set at hospitals. "Visiting Hours" is also highly recommended.
