- I always wanted the whole collection of halloween and ordering it from amazon was a great, recieved all of the movies really quick.
- Halloween II starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence picks up right where the original left off. This seuqel is a complete letdown, the actors look bored and robotic and the twist ending just about killed it for me. Stick to the original and leave this one to rot!
- I love HALLOWEEN II! I love how it takes place right after the original ended! Michael has been shot six times by Dr. Loomis, but he gets up and walks away! Loomis continues his hunt and Laurie Strode is taken to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. Michael stalks the hospital in search for Laurie. Loomis finds out something about Michael that he NEVER knew. I love the showdown at the ending with Michael, Loomis, and Laurie. HALLOWEEN II is a treat for any and all fans of HALLOWEEN, horror, and slashers!
- The horror continues and it should have ended the series after this one.
Buy you know Hollywood????????
Any chance to milk a franchise to death and they'll do it.
Is this as good as the first? No.
It's a good continuation of the first one.
The classic cast is back and the story is great.
However........... H2 starts to go in a more typical horror direction with this one and every one after it.
Less intense thriller than the first and more of a typical Hollywood bloodbath.
The intensity is lost among the increasing body count.
More blood, more gore, less brilliance.
They messed with the music too, not as scary, not as effective.
Still, a must see for fans of the original and the last decent one in the series until Halloween H20.
- What makes Hallowen II a good a slasher sequel is that director Rick Rosenthal had a lot of help from the films writers Debra Hill and John Carptener. The hosptial setting gives the film a dark atmopshere and although the film isn't as scary it's fun.

- Halloween is a hands down classic horror film. John Carpenter made a film that was often imaited but never duplicated. The camera angles are one of the many things that make the film scary. Carpetner allows the viewer to see through the eyes of the killer with the subjective camera and then there's the classic music score. Jamie Lee Curtis had a star making role in this movie and if you've never seen the film you should
- This is an awesome 25th anniversary edition of the film, especially the special features... Halloween, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence came out in 1978 and will forever be a slasher classic!
- This film is often hailed as Carpenter's masterpiece. Though it isn't (that would be Assault on Precinct 13), it is, nevertheless, one of the greatest slasher films ever made. People also often wrongly state that Halloween is the first slasher film ever made. Not so. There were many Italian slashers before it, including The Bird with the Crystal Plumage and Twitch of the Death Nerve.
The mood and pacing of this film are nearly flawless. The soundtrack is classic. What many don't know is that Carpenter based the theme song to Halloween off of Goblin's theme song from Argento's Deep Red, which was in turn inspired by Tubular Bells from Friedkin's The Exorcist. Though the film takes place in Illinois, it was filmed in California, as evidenced by the trunks of palm trees seen in people's front yards. Further, though the film is set in the fall, it was filmed during springtime. Carpenter had a bunch of fake dead leaves that they would throw in the front yard of the house they were filming at. When they switched houses they would have to gather up all the fake leaves and move them!
By the way, the mask that Michael Myers wears was a William Shatner mask that they somewhat altered. Shatner has since said that he does not appreciate being referred to as "evil incarnate." The crew of the film referred to Myers as "The Shape," implying that he is, as implied in the films, a supernatural force and not a human being.
- Thirty years later and this horror classic is still as scary as ever. In the Hollywood horror genre today over-run with blood and gore, it is refreshing to take a break and return to the old school when horror films where truly (and still can be) scary. There are many devices that has made Halloween a success. Number one is Michael Myers, perhaps one of the most memorable horror villains of all time. There is no motive for his actions. He seems to kill without cause - an emotion-less villain who has never spoken a word almost his entire life. One moment he appears out of nowhere, glaring from a distance, and the next moment, he's gone. No matter how fast his victims run, Michael is always right behind, ready to make the kill, stabbing his victims with his trademark kitchen knife.
Audio is one of the most important elements that can determine the success of a horror film, and above all else, John Carpenter's Halloween theme sets the tone all too well. Even at the opening credits the theme begins, instantly placing the viewer into a creepy horror state of mind. Slight variations of this simple theme are constant throughout the film, adding tension and suspense, and progressing scenes along nicely that might have seemed longer otherwise.
The usual weak dialouge and acting are certainly present here, as in most horror films, but I can't say it takes away from the fun, as it is to be expected (especially from a film made 30 years ago). Jamie Lee Curis does a memorable enough performance as her charcater Laurie, the babysitter who Michael has targeted on Halloween. Donal Pleasance does a decent job as Dr. Loomis, a man who basically becomes obsessed (and has every right to) on taking down Michael Myers. The remainder of the cast is unimpressive, but serve up well as Michael's victims.
Halloween has spawned off 7 sequals and even a recent remake. Though they don't match up to this original, it says enough that Halloween has become a popular sucess. I wish I could say for a movie that is 30 years old, it might be difficult for first time viewers today to appreciate, but the fact remains that this is from a different era of horror, a time when good horror films presented us with "less is more" Halloween is the perfect demonstration. There is less blood, less gore, less violence, and we know almost nothing of Michael's background, and the end result can be truly scary when we are not given details and must deal with the unknown.

- I grew up with this film in its various incarnations on home video. And, yes, i probably own it in practically every format. But this version really packs a punch. It is really spectacular to see the crisp images from such a gritty film. You would never know this movie is now 30 years old by the Blu-ray transfer. The only element that was somewhat disappointing is that I noticed the audio dropping out occasionally, probably due to imperfections from the original mono source. Otherwise, you will find new details in this film that you never noticed before on this great hi-def version!!!

- I went into my viewing of Halloween Night cautiously, not expecting much. I was dead wrong! This horror flick will produce some gruesome and horrifying scenes that will make you want to watch it over & over again. The acting is classic & will make you want more! If you're a true horror and gore fan, you have to have this in your collection.
- Gee could this be Asylum's version of Halloween? Wow, guestar57 liked another Asylum production. Read the reviews and after watching any single Asylum movie you will know they make Troma look like Paramount!
- This has to be the worst movie I have ever seen in any genre! The acting is so bad that these people can't even pull off a McDonald's commercial! Even worse, is that the story is not even based on actual events. The actors can't even die well, meaning if you enjoy gore this thing will just put you to sleep. The obligitory lesbian scenes are overused to the point of being boring as well. I spent almost $5.00 at Blockbuster for this DVD rental, while it should be $3.00 to own, if you really want to waste the 1.20 mins. to watch it. If the makers took their time just a bit,it may have been a decent story, as it does show some promise with the Halloween party prank(which is the subplot),but it falls short as being a direct to video, and tries to borrow too much fromm other worthy classics.
- Ok, they tried and thats why they deserved a review: The plot overall is a little old,you know, the mother gets raped and murdered in front of her kid, the kid gets nutts, goes to a hospital, grows older, escapes, and seeks for revenge. Two things in the movie that made me laugh was when one of the girls gets handcuffed to a bed (lift that side of the bed and your free!) and the other one, another girl blocks a door by putting a chair to hold the door closed by the knob(but, the door opens the other way, but nobody noticed during the film!!! o my god) ok, i still enjoy a little watching B horror films.
- We, Sid the Elf, have seen a ton of crappy movies in our time. It's our lifeblood. There's nothing we enjoy more than a movie trying to be legitamately good and falling on its face, causing us to fall on the floor laughing. We consider Death Ring the best movie we've ever seen--seriously. We once reviewed a film called Wicked Games. Here's a line from our review, "We are 100% convinced that this mess was filmed in one day with a home video camera, and a very cheap one at that." We gave Wicked Games 4 stars so obviously we don't have a problem with low-budget bad movies. But this one was truly awful in every way imaginable. We decided to pick this one up because the cover passed the movie off as kind of a based on a true story version of Halloween which could not be more up our alley. Not so much. Excellent marketing idea, though by the losers who made this film, take something successful and ride its coattails by leading people to believe your product is similar. Then add the "based on a true story twist" and you've snookered enough people in to keep yourself in lattes and hybrids for at least a few years. Check out Derek Osedach on IMDB and you'll see this is a patern.
The film starts out with a kid watching his mother being raped and killed by guys in white masks. One of the killer's bullets hits a steam pipe the kid is hiding behind, burning him and badly disfiguring him. So the kid gets sent off to a sanitarium. That's the true story part of the film, not that interesting. Then we have some complete yambags years later who utter "dude" every two seconds. These winners are having a halloween party. The disfigured guy escapes from the sanitarium and makes his way back to his old house--you guessed it, the same house where the halloween party is taking place. And, if Sid was a betting man, the producer's house as well. While we're on this subject, there is absolutely no way that this film cost more than $2000 to make. Anyway, the disfigured guy is wearing a copper mask and black getup, this is aparently the same costume as one of the party-planners. Not that this matters mind you, because the disfigured guy just obliterates the idiot at the door letting people in. So once he's inside, the killer just takes people out in some really gory ways, appealing to people who like that sort of thing. So it had that going for it as well as some truly lukewarm girl-girl makeout scenes. A decent ammount of gore and chicks kissing chicks, and a few nude shots. Those are the highlights. I'd love to see the people who enjoyed this flick.
At the end, the killer gets away from the party house after killing mostly everybody because all the partygoers and even the cops believe the whole scene to be an elaborate hoax by the hosts of the party. The last thing we see is the killer wearing a paper plate and magic marker mask--seriously--getting picked up while hitchhiking by a guy in a '93 Chevy Cavalier. What does this mean? Well, for one, that our hypothesized $2000 budget for the film is probably grossly over estimated, and that there is room for a sequel. For the sake of horror fans, let's hope the stars, director, and producer stay on at their landscaping/cashier/Starbucks barrista jobs instead of making a sequel to this crap.
Sid believes it is needless to say that we are recomend staying away from this garbage. If you're a huge Halloween fan, like us, you will be temped to pick this one up. Resist the urge, this film is nothing like Halloween. Not even remotely in the same league. And yes, this is the worst film we have ever seen. And yes we were pretty steamed that we wasted time watching the crap. We only reserve this barb for films we truly hate with a passion: If you do decide to rent this movie, when you return it to your local video store, scream "He's gone! The Evil is gone from here!"

2 comments about The Clown Murders.
- "The Clown Murders"(1976) featuring an early performance from a young and un-funny John Candy is one of those foggy oddball but some-what creepy films that only the 1970's could cough up. The film seems like it doesn't quite know what it wants to do with itself yet still manages to have a eerie feel to it that seems to consistantly grow throughout. The climax, even though pretty tame held up to todays standards(though all over the place as well) still makes you feel somewhat dirty & abused...like being forced to witness something that you shouldn't have.
In the end a film like this may not be for everyone but for those of you who (like myself) really have a sweet tooth for those obscure lost 70's weirdy flicks "The Clown Murders" is pretty much a keeper.
- This movie is very creepy and the clown killer is awesome, very creppy and provides the best parts of the film when he actually shows up. But the cover art is rather decieving, it looks amazing but to show a cool graveyard with a clown & Machette full of blood makes people rather dissapointed after seeing this film. Over all a strange film that as the previous reviewer stated is unsure of exactally what it wants to be, if the Clown was in it more and had more scary parts like he was limited to this film would have gotten 5 stars.

- All the matches were Great.Savage and Page stole the show beating each other from one end of the Arena to the other. The Hogan/Piper cage was awesome with Savage interfering. ... This was WCW at its very best!
- This PPV was pretty weak, the Flair/Henning match was a dream match but also a letdown. The rest of the mid card you could have seen on Thunder. The Cage Main Event was pretty silly with Savage doing an insane dive off the cage that i don't even think Foley of New Jack would attempt. Also a fan jumps the cage and some phony Stings break character and tackle him.
- a great show. buy it, just not here. go somewhere else
- Ok 1st off this PPV was good only for the fact of the talent involved. You had many veterans competing such as Mach, Hogan, Piper and, Luger. You had the
awesome power struggle between the NWO and WCW. Raven and his folck at ringside for the whole event which made it that much better. Jericho early in his career taking on a wrestler whom I never heard of from Japan. Stilla good match if you are a jerichoholic. Mysterio and Guerrero had a classic with plenty of high risk and near falls. DDP and Macho have a solid street fight. Hogan and Piper go at for the 3rd time in their WCW PPV career. After watching that match
you can really tell the difference between 85 and 97. Anyway, you gotta give it up for these two. They are legends and they can still control the crowd. It is complete chaos towards the end so bad and funny that I can't even wrtie about it. Fake Stings, Macho jumping off the top of the cage, and a fan trying to climb in into the ring! Best matches of the night:
Piper VS Hogan
Guerrero VS Mysterio
DDP VS Macho
My opinion this is a golden video with many of the stars that made Mcmahon sweat in his gucci draws! Definetly pick this one up while it is cheap.

3 comments about Death on Demand.
- This is a cool story and has great visuals if you like a good horror flick!
- Playing like a bad mix of 'House on Haunted Hill' and 'Halloween: Resurrection' (yes, worse than 'Halloween: Resurrection'), we follow the story of three couples (including a couple football players, an emo lesbian, and a porn star. . . seriously) who are invited to the former home of amateur mountain climber & psychotic murderer Sean McIntyre (which might be the lamest name for a killer in the history of horror). Why? Because some rich guy (who looks like the prickish lovechild of Eli Roth and Colin Farrell) promised them $5,000 if they'd participate in his live-stream webcast at the haunted house. As expected, the ghost of McIntyre is brought back during a séance (why do I even bother?) and begins to stalk down his house guests.
Well, what's there to say? I wasn't expecting much here, and I got what I was expecting. This simply is not a good film. The premise isn't awful, I suppose. Worse ideas have made better films. But, though it's said too much: The execution was just plain bad. The writing was stale, clunky, and chock-full of clichés; and it wasn't helped by the laughably bad acting. Sadly, unlike many other modern straight-to-video horrors, the cast that kept their clothes on isn't even attractive enough to make up for their lack of talent. I will give the film one compliment: the gore FX were pretty good. . . even though the violence was unrealistic (I mean, severing a head with a kitchen knife? C'mon). The direction (by someone who'd previously been into 'Sesame Street' videos) isn't terrible, but it seemed he didn't know which way he wanted to go with it, as it blends hand-held, steadicam, and realistic video. . . then there are jumping camera effects (including some little girl with cataracts or something) in only one scene that never show their face again. One style would've done better. . . at least we could've depended on SOMETHING in the film.
Beyond some good gore/violence, there really isn't much else to see in this amateurish film. There's better gore and better violence in better films. No need to bother with this one.
Final Verdict: 2/10.
- Some people don't understand the slasher genre. This is not a big budget hollywood production. It is a slasher film and you either "get it" or you don't. Sound is terrific. Acting is so-so. Have fun with it.

5 comments about WCW/NWO Halloween Havoc 98.
- This is the best PPV of 1998 without a doubt. Most of the matches were great and it also features a whole heap of DREAM MATCHES which you thought you'd never see. A MUST for all wrestling fans out there!!!
The best matches of the event were: - Raven V Chris Jericho - Kevin Nash V Scott Hall - Sting V Bret Hart (US title)*2nd best match* - Hogan V Warrior (Wrestlemania 6 rematch) - Goldberg V DDP (World title match)*match of the year*
- Halloween Havoc 98 is one of the best wrestling cards of alltime on paper. It is not that the matches were not good it you just expected more. The crusier wieght matches were ok except for the fact disco fought twice. Hogan vs Warrior sucked it was terrible. Bret vs Sting was good but I expected spectacular as Bret usally pulls off. Goldberg vs ddp was pretty good considering Goldberg is so terrible. Nash vs Hall was incrediblly dissaponting. But Rick Steiner did steal the show winning both tag belts. If you are a Rick stiener fan this is for you.
- Match 1: Chris Jericho beat Raven to retain the WCW Television Title.
-This was a back and forth match, with both men performing their finishing moves to no avail. Kanyon jumps up into the ring and Raven throws Jericho into him. He then attempts the Evenflow, but Jericho turns it into the LionTamer. Raven tapped out.
Hollywood Hogan Interview
-Hollywood came out accompanied by Eric Bischoff. He ranted about how bad he wanted to beat the Warrior, and re-told the story of how he beat up his own flesh and blood, Horace. He warned the Warrior about "crossing that line" and said he would beat the Warrior tonight.
Match 2: Wrath defeated Meng
-Throughout the whole match, the two wrestlers tried to prove their mentality. Meng became "one of the first to knock Wrath down". Meng never got a chance to put the Tongon Death Grip on Wrath, because Wrath performed the Meltdown on Meng to get the win.
Match 3: Disco Inferno defeated Juventud Gurrera
-Juvy came out in a flourescent outfit to fight Disco. Througout the match, Disco would get Juvy down, and then taunt him by dancing, losing advantage. Disco ended up winning with a Jumping PileDriver. Disco will go on to fight Kidman for the Cruiserweight belt later tonight.
Match 4: Scott Steiner Interview
-Big Poppa Pump came out and said that he had been around freaks all his life, so Las Vegas was a night off to him. He then commented on Buff, and called Buff and Rick "losers". He then challenged Buff and Rick to a tag team match against the Giant and himself. The match would be for the World Tag Team Titles. He then said he would also wrestle his brother after the match, if he loses the titles.
Match 4:
-This was originally supposed to be Finley vs. Jericho, but got scratched at the last moment. Finley was said to put Alex Wright's dad out of wrestling. Chants of "Boring, Boring" also went up during this match. Alex Wright turned against many of Finley's moves, and won with a Forward Neck Breaker. (I believe)
Match 5: Saturn defeated Lodi via Death Valley Driver
-Lodi claimed to be "anywhere" but Las Vegas. Saturn came out dressed like a "80s fag", and kind of walked like one, with a beret on his head. Lodi tried to slow things down, with no avail. Several times through the match, Lodi would leave to chase his signs. Saturn signed for the DVD and landed it on Lodi to get the win.
Match 6: Kidman defeated Disco Inferno to retain the Cruiserweight Title.
-Disco won a chance against Kidman by defeating Juventud Gurrera. By the way, Kidman came out to new music. Disco again would become unfocused by taunting Kidman. Disco set up for the Piledriver that beat Juventud, but Kidman jumped out of it. Kidman eventually took advantage and landed the Shooting Star Press on Disco to get the win.
Airing of Konnan's Music Video
-This was the debut of Konnan's music video, which was a rap video. If you didn't see it, you didn't miss much.
Match 7: Rick Steiner defeated Scott Steiner and the Giant to win the Tag Team Titles.
-Steiner and the Giant were defending the belts against Buff and Rick. So, if Scott loses, he has to fight Rick for fifteen minutes after this match. Buff was wrestling in blue jeans. When Buff was finally tagged in, he turned on Rick Steiner, and ran off, leaving Rick to fend for himself against Scott and the Giant. The Giant toyed with Rick by pulling him up while he was pinning him. The Giant had problems getting to the top rope, and when he did, he accidentally drop-kicked Scotty. Rick Steiner wins after Bulldogging the Giant. Scott argued the call to no avail, leading to his match with Rick Steiner.
Match 8: Rick Steiner defeated Scott Steiner
The match began right after the last one, with the Giant interfering several times. Scotty Steiner continually low-blowed Rick, right when Rick got an advantage. Someone in a Bill Clinton outfit, turning out to be Buff Bagwell, hit Rick with the SlapJack, while Rick jumped out of the pin. After a Frankensteiner, Rick kicked out again. Rick Steiner landed the BullDog on Scott Steiner, while Nick Patrick came in to make the pin on Scott.
Match 9: Scott Hall beat Kevin Nash via Countout
-What was originally scheduled to be a Bar Fight turned into a regular fight in the ring. Halfway through the match, Hall got on the mike and taunted Nash. Nash came back into the ring when the trainer told him he couldn't, and the fight continued. Nash let Hall beat him, and opened up and did not defend himself. Both men went for the Jackknifes, and both escaped them. Nash PowerBombed Hall once, then twice. He then crotch-chopped Hall, and left the ring.
Match 10: Bret Hart defeated Sting to retain the U.S. Belt
-Sting has grown a Gotee since we last saw him. Sting chased Bret in and out of the ring. Both men put on their versions of the Sharpshooter, and both got out. Bret reached in his pants for a foreign object, and Sting took it away from him. the referee took it away form Sting, allowing Hart to get the advantage. Sting accidentally knocked out the ref, and Hart intentionally leg dropped the ref. Sting then Superplexed Hart right on to the ref, making things worse. Sting went for a Stinger Splash, and hit the back poll, and then was beaten hy Hart with the baseball bat. Bret Hart then put the Sharpshooter on a knocked-out Sting to retain his belt.
Match 11: Hollywood Hogan defeated the Warrior
-The pace of the match was extremeley slow, and the ten minute entrances came as expected. This match was alot like the one from Wrestlemania VI. It was slow-paced and technical, not fast and high-flying. Eventually, Hogan dropped a knee on Nick Patrick. He then called the rest of the nWo out to come and jump the Warrior. The Giant missed Warrior with a kick, and the Warrior rid the Giant and Stevie Ray of the ring. Hogan continually hit Warrior with his work-out belt, and also used it to choke the Warrior. The Warrior then stole Hogan's belt and used it the same way. Hogan then pulled some illegal substance out of his pants and attempted to blind the Warrior with it, unsuccessfully. Hogan is now busted wide open. Horace then made his way out, distracting Hogan, with Biscoff not far behind. Horace went into the ring and hit the Warrior in the back of the head with a chair. Hogan then pinned the Warrior for the win. This was one of the worst Pay-Per-View matches of the year.
Match 12: Goldberg defeated DDP with the Jackhammer to retain the World Title
-Both men came out with Michael Buffer introductions, not surprisingly. Both men would take each other down, and then get right back up. DDP went for the Diamond Cutter, to which Goldberg threw him out of the ring. DDP signaled for the Diamond Cutter, and then was speared. Goldberg hurt his shoulder, and then DDP Diamond Cutted Goldberg. Goldberg kicked out and then speared DDP again, followed by the JackHammer to retain his belt.
- You got the return match 8 years in the making.
Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior.
Not a very good match and has a weak ending.
Not so bad on the U.S Title Match between Bret Hart & Sting.
Awesome match in my opinion. This is not the real Sting here.
Got beat up with his bat.
Brother vs Brother match between The Steiner Brothers.
Rick Steiner has to battle Scott & The Giant to getta Scott
a one on one match. Also, it was a tag match with Buff Bagwell
wit Rick til Bagwell turned on him. Steiner upset the 3 of them
and won both matches. And he won the Tag Title by himself.
2 former friends Scott Hall & Kevin Nash went one on one.
Ends by count out with Hall winning the match. Nash walked
out after delivered 2 Jacknife on Hall.
Then The Main Event. Goldberg vs DDP for the World Title.
2 of my favorites in WCW clashed on one of the biggest PPV
of WCW. My favorite match of the night.
- WcW HAlloween Havoc '98
-TV Title:Chris Jericho vs. Raven
8/10 solid match
-Disco Inferno vs. Juvi
7/10 way better than expected of Disco
-Cruiserweight Title:Kidman vs. Disco Inferno
8/10 another great Disco performance, back and forth offense wrong man won
-Tag Titles:Scott Steiner and Big Show vs. Rick Steiner and Buff Bagwell
6/10 Buff is pointless,Rick tries to look good, awesome Big Show missile dropkick from the top.Too many damn low blows
-Scott Steiner vs. Rick Steiner
8/10 short and way better than the tag match but another pointless Buff. Both Rick and Scott do better than the first match experience.
-Kevin Nash vs. Scott Hall
8/10 an entertaining match to watch. slow at spots but has a steady pace with these 2 outsiders.
-US Title:Bret Hart vs. Sting
8/10 Starts slow but picks up in pace. Bret does a lot of the usual and Sting is more decisive in his ring moves (with the sinister goatee). Batdown ending
-the reurn match:Hollywood Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior
7/10 it is slow with some botched spots but not as bad as some people say. Defintly not a rematch classic to their 1st bout.
-World Title:Goldberg vs. DDP
10/10 A great fast paced match really back and forth for a Goldberg match (DDP carried GB). Nice moves and athleticism from both men. DDP is so underranked and laughed at as a wrestler but he is really good especially in this match. One of the final great WCW main events.
All in all a must have WCW tape. The card looked great and suceeded in delivering. MUST HAVE
E.T. Out!
