5 comments about Revenge of the Living Zombies (aka Flesheater).
  1. I went in to this film expecting the worst, I was dead wrong (excuse the pun.) This movie DOES have poor acting but it also wastes no time getting to the zombies and gore. I liked it a lot. It wasn't scary, but it was cheesy, gory, and fun. I also thought the special effects weren't too bad really. Give it a try, but b4 you do, try to find it cheaper. I wouldn't pay 22.00 for it.

  2. Sometime back in either February or March, we had a big snow storm and got out of school for a few weeks. During that time I bought a bunch of Zombie flicks such as Zombi 2, 3, 4, 5, Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror, Zombie Holocaust and FleshEater (a.k.a.) Revenge of The Living Zombies! I love this movie, not only because it's a Zombie flick, but it's a Zombie flick that takes place on HALLOWEEN, which is awesome!!! It has gore, female nudity, zombies, HALLOWEEN...what else could you possibly ask for in a horror flick! I knew how it would end because I'm so smart! The lead zombie is the cemetery zombie from George A. Romero's classic Night of the Living Dead! If you love horror, zombies, and HALLOWEEN, you'll love FLESHEATER (a.k.a.) REVENGE OF THE LIVING ZOMBIES!!!

  3. There's a reason why I kept this around for so long. Even though it's a poorly acted and unintentional hilarious zombie flick at times. It's still a zombie flick with some bite.

A group of teens take a trip into the woods for a hangout session. Their fun eventually turns into hell when a zombie is set loose from his grave. He then begins to attack anyone within arms reach and of course this begins the zombie plague.

The movie does start out pretty well and presents a creepy atmosphere at first. But several events take away the fright in this movie. And to me it just felt like another zombie movie. In which it is.

I will admit the gore is pretty well done. And things pick up fast and are well paced. There is more than enough zombie mayhem to go around. I also liked alot of the make up. Also brace yourself for some long mindless make out scenes.

There really isn't too much to say about this movie. If you're a diehard zombie fan looking for a gory munchfest. This movie will certainly deliver but don't look for anything special.

  4. Bill Hinzman'z extremely low-budget film, FLESH EATER has everything necessary for a halloween-time classic. A farmer disturbs a grave, releasing a ravenous ghoul (Hinzman), who immediately attacks him turning him into a cannibalistic corpse. Meanwhile, a group of swingin' '80s teens are partying nearby, unaware of the drooling horror about to strike. The rest of the movie is a vicious zombie feeding frenzy. The gore effects are well done, and obviously got the lion's share of the money for this production. Hinzman himself pretty much reprises his role as the dead guy in Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. He shambles around biting people, which results in a fast-growing army of undead! No one is safe, and nothing is sacred in this movie! Even the kiddies are doomed! So, don't expect any mercy or an uplifting finalé. If you like blood, rampaging zombies, gratuitous nudity, and gun-toting hillbillies, then you have just found heaven...

  5. I've known about this film for quite some time now , it has garnered an infamous place in zombie movie lore partially because of the appearance of Bill Hinzman , Zombie number 1 in the original Notld .

He not only plays the lead zombie in this film , but he manages to wear three other hats for this production , that of producer , director and editor .

At first , this venture reeks of someone trying to capitalize on their cult classic stature and of someone ripping off a genuine classic . Although i admit that it borrows heavily from the original Night , it has a mind and an enthusiasm for the genre all it's own .

The blood flows freely in this , they didn't seem to hold back when it came to the grue that fans of these films enjoy , it's in abundance here and most of it is excellent . There are some moments when the budget with regards to the makeup fx becomes obvious , but overall , kudos to the makeup crew , more of the " gags " work than don't . And for them to fashion such effective fx on an obviously small budget is more of a revelation . We have death by pitchfork , numerous headshots , noses being bitten off , a hook in a leg , burnt bodies , it's all here , and for people who love z grade horror films and exploitation , you'll enjoy yourself immensely with this .

I was surprised at the amount of zombies that were in this film , because i've read some reviews about how there is hardly any to speak of , let me put your apprehension to rest , there are plenty to go around , especially in the bravura final 30 minutes . Now , granted , the zombie makeup is admittedly sub par , but the excellent gore fx and the amount of zombie action more than make up for it , it's a minor deficiency that didn't bother me at all .

Then for you cheap Italian exploitation film fans , there is gratuitous nudity . yes this is an American production , but with the amount of skin on display , you would think you were watching a Fulci film , if anything this has more flesh on display than some of those films .

If that isn't enough , the acting is overall atrocious , overacting , underacting , non acting , it's all here , and the film is dubbed for some reason , adding to that cheap Italian horror movie atmosphere even more . Some the dialog is classic , and i wouldn't doubt if the makers of Shaun of the Dead stole a scene right out of this film . Oh boy , there are some groan inducing lines spouted in this film , but i loved it all the more because of it , it was endearing .

I have to mention that there is just about one musical track that plays for almost the entire film , and it's too good for a film such as this , but i'm glad it's here , it makes everything seem more menacing , it creates an appropriately suspenseful tone even in light of all of the silliness .

I highly recommend this hidden gem , it delivers on all fronts in the zombie genre . It may be somewhat derivative , but it does what it set out to do , and that was entertain like only a z grade zombie movie can when done " right " . BH has made his own little legend , because this thing is a classic now in my opinion .

I wouldn't buy the single disc though , it's a bit expensive , i would buy the zombie pack 2 , it will only work out to about 6 dollars or so and you'll get two other films in the package . JV

5 comments about All Hallows' Eve (2007).
  1. Wow! This movie was entertaining from start to finish. The first story was perhaps the stongest from a narrative point of view. It was also the most suspenseful. I must say, I did not see that ending coming. The second story was the most emotional. Very intense and it had plenty of dark humor. My favorite was the last story. This was the most fun and I am partial to vampires. Great music, great cinematography and effects and the actors were great all around. I can't wait to watch it again.

  2. congratulations!

Another remarkable piece of work by the multi-talented Harry and his crew. "All Hallows' Eve" is a facinating film; it is colorful and suspenceful, the dialogue awesome and the acting performances impressive. This movie will hold your attention through to the end.

We urge anyone who has not seen "All Hallows' Eve" to not rely on the bland, critical evaluations of it.

The future of the horror movie industry may be in the hands of young Mr. Sparks and his team keeping it alive. This movie is worth adding to any serious collection of horror films. Don't wait, buy it, watch it again and again.

  3. Simply a fantastic horror film and highly recommended for those interested in small, local films. Joseph D. Durbin is a terrific young actor and should have been named one of the headliners of this film. The film industry should take note of the special, unique, potential and talent of Joseph D. Durbin. Hats off to Joseph D. Durbin for his role in this film, A+, 5 star performance.

  4. I've read all of the rave reviews as well as the nasty ones regarding this independent horror flick, but my comments attempt to find a middle ground. All Hallow's Eve is indeed made on a shoestring budget, but accomplishes a lot with what it has. The action is initially set at an apartment where a group of costumed young friends have gathered on Halloween for a party. They proceed to tell spooky stories, which take place as three small movies within the movie and cast members playing double parts. The stories are basically enactments of urban legends related to an escaped convict, a jealous lover and a local vampiress. All of the stories are told by females in the group, and in each, the boyfriend/husband is a lunkhead. Actual rivalries among the young women are inserted in the stories as well, taking the form of frequently naked seductresses and their aggressive avengers.

Some aspects of the film are surprisingly effective: the energetic cast, the moody theme music, and the stories themselves, which are often suspenseful. However, other aspects are pretty lame, particularly in the middle story, where the acting, staging and special effects (is that chocolate syrup they're trying to pass off as blood?) don't rise to the occasion.

Those weighing whether to check this film out might go the unbox route, as I did; you get to watch the movie without being saddled with a disk you don't want.

  5. I'm not a fan of the genre, but I enjoyed watching the flick. The concept was good and there were some moments that were truly well-done -- the vampire's erotic bed scene was mesmerizing. Overall, however, the film's indie origins were too evident. Some of the visual segues were too abrupt and distracting. I kept wondering: "How did we get from there to here?" "How did it change from night to day in minutes?" etc. Also some of the background details need to be watched carefully. Indie films are made on a hairline budget, but it doesn't cost anything or take any time to remove distracting items from the background, the room, etc., or to change the camer angle to avoid getting them in the frame. Example: The real estate box on the door of the vampire's house. Still, it was fun to watch as long as it wasn't taken too seriously. The people making it were obviously having fun. So should the viewer.

    #1:

As co-producer of GROTESQUERIES I am delighted to be able to share the following comments on the DVD from Walter von Bosau of the Film Department at Boston University:

I just wanted to drop you a note, telling you how delighted and thrilledI am with the DVD of
GROTESQUERIES. I had originally heard about it through the Creepy Classics website, and ordered it.
I'v e just finished it, and it is a treat from beginning to end. It' s the best DVD I have purchased this year.
My thanks to all involved for putting this together. "

    #2:

    Title: Gilbert & Sullivan's `Ghosts' High Noon'

A highlight of this DVD, the Finalé to Act Three, is an animated visualization of `The Ghosts' High Noon' from Gilbert and Sullivan's Comique-Opera, "Ruddigore' or `The Witche's Curse'.

The `curse' is upon the descendants of Ruddigore. They must commit one crime a day or perish.

In the sequence depicted, the picture gallery of Ruddigore Castle, the heir apparent, Robin Oakapple, is confronted by his ghostly ancestors led by Sir Roderic Murgatroyd, who warns the youthful lad that `they fate thou canst not now avoid.'

But Roderic and his spirited relations are a jolly crew, and they sing about their revel-making on `The Ghosts' High Noon.'

The song is repeated with viewers invited to sing-a-long to lyrics at the bottom of the screen. Sir Roderic is sung by Darrell Fancourt with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Chorus under Maestro Malcolm Sargent -from a 1931 HMV pressing through the courtesy of Chris Webster.

And if you feel like polishing-off yet another Gilbert and Sullivan tongue-twisting tune try warbling `The Sorcerer's Song' from `The Sorcerer' offered in Haunted Melodies, one of 13 wicked bonus features.

An image from `The Ghosts' High Noon' is now available on this site.

  1. ATTENTION HORROR FANS! This may be just the type of fright flick that you've been looking for... gritty film stock, perfect use of music and sound (especially violin stabs!), nice gooey effects, actors that look and act believable enough to make the whole situation plausible, all wrapped up in an intense and stylish 81 minute micro-budget package by a director who wears his love of the genre proudly on his sleeve (not a former music video director who casts porno stars and wrestlers for a quick check)! Sounds too good to be true right? Well with Director Ti West's first full-length film we get all of the above crammed into a plot that is "unique" to say the least (it's better to see what I mean then hear it on here). When you watch as much direct-to-DVD shlock as I do it's truly refreshing to be scared and entertained rather than sleepy and dissapointed by the films end (about 1 in 12 of these type of films are worth it). Highly reccomended throwback horror film that if given the chance will most likely suprise (and frighten) you. It should be noted that the flick starts with a "Midnight Movie TV Show" segment hosted by the great Tom Noonen (Ripper from "Last Action Hero" and Frankenstein from "The Monster Squad") that I highly enjoyed but may not appeal to others, just don't give up on the actual movie itself by this opening sequence (it's only about 4 minutes long).

  2. I really wanted to like this film, I really did! I remember watching the trailer and thinking, "For an indie horror film, this doesn't look half bad." Then I actually watched the movie. What a disappointment! Not only are all the characters in the film completely unlikable, whiny, grouchy twits who seem only able to complain about anything and everything at every moment, but what little story there is to the film is painfully drawn out and stretched so thin that you can't help but feel that this would have made a much better 20 minute short rather then the overwritten, lethargic 81 minute mess that it became. And about 15 minutes of that time is spent on some lame, horribly acted late night Horror Host who it is never really explained as to why they threw him into the film except maybe as filler for a film that was too short to be called a feature length film otherwise. I literally found myself yelling at my TV saying, "Come on already, get to the action! Get to the story!" as I tried to endure a plot as slow and boring as watching maple sap trickle down the side of a tree on a bitterly cold morning. Actually, watching maple sap would have been a lot more interesting.

  3. I have one of those wonderful devices called a DVR and I was perusing the horror films one night and this was listed with a good review and one of the more interesting lines that caught me - vampire zombie bats! Huh? That alone made me very interested in this picture.

So I watched this with my girlfriend and we were both excited to see the vampire zombie bats, she loves horror and zombies as much as I do! Well the film started out in black and white as an old Creature Feature late night horror show (with TV frame included) and I thought that was an interesting opening, then the film started and that's when my interest "flew" out the window.

Talk about a ponderous and plodding movie. My god! The writer/producer/director Ti must have been taking sedatives and I don't know how the editor stayed awake to put this mess together. The opening of the "film" is a stripe running down the road and then suddenly you hear a car crash - couldn't afford to show it obviously, then people just talk to talk and wander around pretty aimlessly around a farmhouse for a good 50 minutes before the film breaks and we go back to the horror host again. Ok, thank god, he's the only saving moment of this picture, but OH NO, he returns us to this mess. I swear I don't think I've stared outside of an open door to a barn so long in my life! The same scene repeats over and over and the "cast" more like zombies, acting wise( although there are 2 zombies in the film), just wander aimlessly in a barn and start dying. Dying from what is the question, it's sometimes hard to tell, unless you mean the poorly CGI'd bats that you never really see up close. The one you do see is late in the film and is dead but it has some nice teeth although it's obvious it's plastic, where's OZZY when you need him?

So why did I give it 2 stars? I think I liked it because my girlfriend despises it so much. If I want to put her to sleep, this film will do it! I even bought the DVD on sale for about $3 just to see her shocked expression, that I actually picked up this snoozer.

If you suffer from insomnia, trust me, this one will cure it! Great for those nights when you just "can't get to sleep." Roost away.

  4. This movie is so bad it's not even worth watching on "fast forward".

To those of you who gave this movie a 3 star or more rating: Did we watch the same movie?!

I loved Grindhouse and it's concept but to compare this movie to Grindhouse is ludicrous. To say that this movie concept inspired Grindhouse is unbelievable.

The acting is awful. The story is awful. The production quality is awful. The attempt to mimic a "Creature Feature" type intro and movie is just awful! Taking massive amounts of hallucinogenic drugs before viewing this movie will not even help! This movie will still be awful!!!!!!!!

I've noticed that good reviews of products get high ratings and usually bad reviews get rated as "not helpful". Well, here is a BAD review because if my review can stop even one person from watching or buying this movie, it's worth it.

  5. When i seen Wil Horneff and his sister Vanessa was in a horror movie together called the roost i was hoping that it would be about Vampire bats and i was right. And it ended the way i never would thought instead of Wil's charcter that Wil played killing his sister his sister ending his life and that's what made it different from any other vampire movie i ever seen. Way to go guys.

3 comments about Drew's Famous Ghoul Log.
  1. I can't find the words to describe this utter failure. The spooky sounds and images are highly repetetive and hokey. The production value is hilarious. There is no way to skip the more annoying effects to get to the halfway listenable ones because it's all one long track. The only scary part was that I actually paid 13 dollars for it.

  2. This is an awesome DVD! Play it on "Ghoul Log" and it will play all the songs and stories on the back of the case. During play you will see three ghoulish Jack-O-Lanterns. Play the "Haunted House" and it will play music and show the pumpkins bouncing all around and a monster or two. If you have a Halloween party, then this is a must-have for you. This is by Drew's Famous who make great party CD's like "Fright Flicks" and "Hawaiin Halloween Party Music". You might want to check into these and in the meantime purchase this magical DVD.

  3. If there was a way to give this dvd several negative stars I would definitely do it! What a waste of money! All you see in the whole thing is a couple of different PLASTIC pumpkins set in different badly staged places. Sometimes they are lit with a fake flame sometimes they aren't. Oh yeah...there is some guy skulking around in a cheap Halloween costume too. The sound effects are laughable. I was planning to have this playing in the background of my Halloween party this year but would now be embarrased to. The packaging is deceiving in regard to whether it was made professionally. I'll either be giving this away, probably anonymously to an enemy, or throwing it away which is redundant in regard to the $10 I spent on it. Be warned...the 5 star rating this has received was probably entered by the creater of the dvd.

  1. This is a mildly spooky tape of that sweet, helpful little ghost we all know and love. It was my 3 year olds first introduction to Halloween on screen. I am so happy I picked this. He is a little fraidy cat who did not get past the first fifteen minutes of Monsters Inc but was able to watch this entire video. This is not one of those 30 minute tapes. It is over 90 minutes long. The first cartoon is all about halloween and trick or treating the last is about a vampire. All are fun and precious! I just wish they had this on DVD

1 comments about Halloween with the Addams Family.
  1. Gomez has to temporarily leave for Tombstone, Arizona for a day, but finds it quite painstaking to be without his total environment, much like the vampire, thus leaving affairs in the hands of his younger brother Poncho, who is also absolutely enthralled by the ever-lovely Morticia, & harbors the same amorous inclinations inspired by French inunciation.

The house is a bit different, set in a residential neighborhood in suburbia, rather than in a palacial mansion - more of a large house. Yet still, erstwhile crooks again attempt to leach from the Addams' wealth. This time, by crashing the Halloween party {a monster mash, really}, dressed & identified as the "Boston branch of the family" - one cross-dressing as Little Bo-Peep, another as John Quincy Addams, accompanied by two bodybuilders, who are extremely poor actors, who from time to time abduct Gomez, attempting to contain him tied up in various locations throughout the house, to which, by his ingenuity, releases himself with the help of Wednesday Sr., who herself has returned from conservatory, enchantingly developed both in talent & physique. They communicate in morse code, thus releasing Gomez from various predicaments, much to the chagrin & frustration of the so-called "John Quincy Addams". Along with them, Gomez & Morticia assimilates sneak into the house with no-one the wiser, as it is assumed they are the actual ones, as their clonage is assumed to be so great, which upon observation, is not the case.

Earler on, the spying crooks sent an agent posing as an inspector taxman who is eventually driven insane, unto a complete blubbering & blabbering idiot by the Addams' lifestyle, particularly Thing, & Uncle Fester's "Playroom", which includes The Rack {looks to be quite a stress-reliever}, & the noble & adorable lion "Kitty-cat", the family pet. A reminder of Togare is readily apparent.

Lurch takes a fancy to Little Bo-Peep, & dances the night away with the erzatz lady. He even shares his passion with her/it - terradaktyl-hunting, but instead, manages to net Mother Frump who was out for a night broom ride, until later in the film, when he realizes the true state, lets forth a moan of disappointment.

One by one, the interlopers are eliminated, by reasons of insanity &/or fear.

Eventually, as most of them are subjected to Fester's relaxation machines, & confess their intentions, & are finally apprehended by law-enforcement. Good riddance to such flotsam.

This obscure presentation provides for select family values - it could be described as an "after-school special", as it were, for Infernal Progeny. I found "The Legend of Cousin Shy" to be both useful & motivational, & as a matter of fact, inspired in part My own XXVII Nights of Halloween; The Addams Halloween Hymn "Merry, Shhh, Creepy Halloween" is an eternal memoriam, & an ode to various spooks of the subconcious; idealizations & archetypes we hold near & dear to Our Black Hearts.

One factor stands solid throughout The Addams Family lore - The Addams Family is a functional family characterization, very poignantly demonstrated in the warm, wholesome ending scene, where each member of the family grasps a black candle, & pace single-file up the stairs singing the Halloween Hymn, up to the attic, where Cousin Shy parts the cobwebs & carves the pumpkin atop the shoulders of the scarecrow, as they all look on in awe, then to open the presents wrapped in black & red, happily uncovering new possessions.

The element of tribalism is always present, loyal to one another, preserving the pack with etiquette, & surrounded in chosen fineries. An ideal of a family to emulate, which in many cases, has already been naturally in practice. Comparisons are inevitably drawn between the Satanic Family & the prorotypal Addams Family. Such a dynamic occurred with Dr. LaVey & Family. I believe this film, as well as all the others, including the original series, will humorously suppliment the overall Satanic Family. Hail Infernal Progeny! HAIL SATAN.

5 comments about Splendor.
  1. Gregg Araki has made a name for himself in the darker and more obscure side of film. Though this film has flourishes of the same Araki we have come to know (threesomes and homosexuality) this title is suprisingly hip and even refreshing. Being canadian, I have come to like the talents of the few actors hailing from my country. Kathleen Robertson fills a role that is nothing short of ravishing and adorable. It's much different from the sarcastic and barbed character she played in Nowhere (Lucifer). She is by far the heart and soul of this delightful and sexy comedy. Watching this movie, to me, was like drinking a strawberry milkshake in every sense. The storyline was, as some have put, a more modern version of "Three's Company" wich is also made mention of at one point in the movie. The plot takes many unique turns and the ending is even more of a delightful suprise. The soundtrack to this movie is excellent as Gregg once again proves his talent in musical selection as well as filmaking. Like in Nowhere, if you follow the closing credits through for a bit you'll be treated to another half a minute or so of antics from the characters. In summary this movie is a 3/4 or so change from the Araki we have come to know and love, but definitely another great movie success. (For the record.....Ms Kathleen Robertson, great job! Love ya lots!)

  2. I was not conscious of "Splendor" being a Gregg Araki film when I started watching it but after the first two sequences I was thinking: "this is great directing-who did this"? While the technique screams "Araki", as does the casting of Kathleen Robertson, the narrative is so conventional that you find the combination hard to reconcile. I loved an earlier comment that "Splendor" is like a John Hughes remake of "The Doom Generation.

Although Araki is paying homage to the great screwball comedies of the 1930's: "Topper", "It Happened One Night", "The Awful Truth", and "Bringing Up Baby"; the style and substance of "Splendor" is closer to Mike Nichols' "The Graduate" (not to mention an amusing parody of the "Graduate's" climatic wedding scene).

Kathleen Robertson has the Rose McGowen part in this version of "The Doom Generation" and is generally well suited to the role. I have not decided yet if Robertson is in McGowen's class as an actress, or in the class of her fellow Canadians Mia Kirshner and Sarah Polley. Robertson was excellent in "Maniac Mansion" and "Beverly Hills 90210", but these were similar roles that appear to mirror her own cool and detached personality. One thing that is clear is that she was a great choice for Ariki's trademark close-ups. Anyone perceptive enough to close the camera to face distance when shooting McGowen, Robertson, and most recently Michelle Trachtenberg has a eye for breathtakingly beautiful visuals.

The premise does not really have enough substance to sustain a feature although it might work as a half-hour television sit-com (see "Three's Company"). When the premise becomes tired the story brings in a new character, Eric Mabious; and the film self-destructs, killing time until a decent ending sequence. A tip-off that a screen writer has limited life experience to draw from is having cast and crew occupations for the characters. Robertson's character is an aspiring actress and Mabious is directing her in a made-for-television drama. His character is so hopelessly one-dimensional and painfully pathetic that I was convinced that he had a sinister side (what was with those blue contact lenses) that would eventually manifest itself. But this does not happen, maybe Araki had something interesting in mind and abandoned it in re-write. Mabious becomes a non-factor (see totally irrelevancy) and his scenes were simply inserted as padding to get this thing up to feature length.

The bottom line is that Araki fans will be a little disappointed with "Splendor". It is very conventional, it isn't much of a story, and the good banter is limited (although Kelly MacDonald has fantastic dialogue in all her scenes) . But if your Araki appreciation is more for his directorial talents (casting, mise en scene details, camera movement and placement) and his post-production originality, you will find "Splendor" measures up very well to his prior work. The morning after scene early in the film simply blows away anything similar from any director.

Then again, what do I know? I'm only a child.

  3. SPLENDOR is a quick little film that once again demonstrates writer/director Gregg Araki's talent in making big social comments out of just a little idea. Though this may not be one of his most successful films, it certainly has enough going for it to give it a look.

Narrated by flippant, kooky, slightly irritatingly shallow Veronica (Kathleen Robertson) who also is the main character of the story, we find that Veronica (aka V aka Ron) has been on a dry run for a love life for a long time, and just when she thinks she'll never find her man, up pops Halloween, and with her best friend Mike (Kelly MacDonald) she ventures into a party where she meets not one but two candidates for relationship - Abel (hunky Jonathan Schaech) who is a would be writer and is inept at about everything social and Zed (also hunky Matt Keeslar) who is a drummer whose intellect and socialization skills don't go far beyond his drumsticks. Veronica beds them both, finds them equally attractive and eventually the three become a ménage à trois in the same apartment. The two men, while transiently jealous of each other, ultimately find happiness in Veronica's breadwinning capabilities and both truly love her and each other. Things become strained when Veronica learns she is pregnant!

Meanwhile, Veronica is offered upward mobility by yet another hunk Ernest (Eric Mabius) who represents stability and money whereas Abel and Zed represent only passion. Considering her pregnant life choices she agrees to marry Ernest despite her lack of loving him and all proceeds towards the wedding day when Abel and Zed decide to make changes in the plans.

Schaech, Mabius and Keeslar provide sufficient eye candy to overcome a strained script. Had Veronica been cast differently the story may have had a better impact, but as it is this remains a fun, spunky movie that for Araki fans is a good diversion. Grady Harp, November 05

  4. Because gosh, you know what America needs? Sexual freedom. I mean, we really only THOUGHT we were liberated, sleeping with anything and everything that takes our fancy--but we weren't. What we NEED to do is to combine the promiscuous experiences, so we can collect venereal diseases and birth children of confused parentage even faster! Splendor shows us just what we're missing as it invites us to liberate ourselves from primitive notions like jealousy and knowing who the hell your father is. Don't let people judge you, man, as long as you're having fun, cos isn't that what it's all about? Me, I'm about promiscuous polyamory! Way to go, Splendor, lead the way!

  5. And a charming triangle, splendor despite being a not conventional story is touching and lovely , Veronica cannot decide what is the best for the child shes expecting after a season living with her two loved best friends Zed and Abel whom maintain a sexual relation with her in a "friendly" sense but then Ernest came along, a sucessfull independant movie director who falls in love with Veronica and seems to be the rigth guy for her and her coming child, her mind tells her that, but her heart tells her to keep the relation with Zed and Abel so theres the crossroad, you gonna have to find out what happens at the end, in other hand the soundtrack is awesome, New Order "Bizarre love triangle", Blur , Slowdive (amazing band), House Of Love , Suede, wow!!!!!! a transition from 90s and the new millenium.

5 comments about Barney - Barney's Halloween Party.
  1. Very interesting to my 2 yr old grandaughter. Excellant for the upcoming holiday.

  2. Even for those parents, who are not Barney fans, this DVD is a good one. The songs are cute & our two year old son manages to be able to sing along with some of them. The decorations that they make (spiders from hand prints, ghosts from foot prints) will give you some ideas of ways to entertain your children around Halloween. The costumes are good - certainly not too scary for small children. Overall, our son gives it two thumbs up and requests this DVD by name (even after Halloween)!

5 comments about The Best of The Simpsons, Vol. 4 - Tree House Horror (The Simpsons Halloween Special)/ Bart Gets an F.
  1. This is a great tape. "Bart Gets An F" was a great episode, one of the best, so don't let anyone tell you it's not, it was great! Bart was a three-dimensional character, and his problem was easy to relate to. "Treehouse Of Horror" manages to top it though. It was so good it started a yearly Simpsons tradition! It's a good buy, but I'd get it in the box set instead of just the single.

  2. Series 2 was well below the usual Simspons standard, as the characterisation was still mvoing from its initial status onto what we've loved for years. And neither of these episodes are up to scratch, both being well short of good jokes (only the 'Snow Day' scenes really stand out). And the Treehouse of Horror episode was a poor start.

  3. Of the 2, The house of horror was the best. Bart gets and F somehow wasn't very funny. But The House of Horror is the Halloween special. An example of the funny parts is (Homer "When you sold us this house, you didn't tell us it was built..on an INDIAN BURIAL BROUND! Yeah?! What? Well, that's not my recolection! Ok. Well, bye. He said he mentioned it 5 or 6 times." HaHaHaHa. I laughed alot on that one. There are many many more histerical lines, phrases, and scenes from the collection you won't forget!!

  4. As always, the Simpsons rock, no matter what! And the Treehouse of Horror kicks butt! I used it in the classroom when I taught the Raven. The kids loved it and it brought about some interesting discussion! Plus, it's just plain hilarious!

  5. With "The Best of The Simpsons, Volume 4" we get to the second season of the animated series and the first of the celebrated Halloween specials. These really represent the early years of the show when the focus was on Bart rather than on Homer as it is today, which makes the second one of these two episodes a paradigmatic story for the series:

Episode 16, "Treehouse Of Horror" (First aired October 25, 1990), is the first Halloween special for "The Simpsons," complete with Marge's warning (if you tuck your kids into bed tonight, you do not have to write angry letters tomorrow) and James Earl Jones doing voices. There are a trio of scary stories that Bart and Lisa tell each other in the treehouse while Homer listens outside: "Bad Dream House" (Written by John Swartzwelder) has the Simpsons moving into a house that is cheap because it is haunted. However, the house has met its match in the Simpsons. "Hungry Are the Damned" (Written by Jay Kogen & Wallace Wolodarsky) has the Simpsons abducted by the giant one-eyed aliens Kang and Kodos. Aboard the spaceship Serak the Preparer keeps giving the family an endless feast of food. Lisa is suspicious that the aliens are fattening up the family for a feast of a different kind. "The Raven" (Written by Edgar Allan Poe and Sam Simon) turns Homer into the narrator, Marge into Lenore, and since Lisa is reciting the poem, Bart gets to be the raven. Not as good as the Treehouses of Horror to come, but a start in the right direction (especially since it turns Poe into a writer for a cartoon series). (4 Krusty Burgers)

Episode 14, "Bart Gets An F" (Written by David M. Stern, First aired October 11, 1990) begins with Mrs. Krabappel warning Bart that he is going to flunk history if he does not do better on the next exam. Of course, Bart watches TV instead of studying and then pretends to be sick to skip the test. When he takes it he not only gets an F, but is also told he is going to be kept back a grade. Bart makes desperate deals, first with Martin and then with God (the latter proves more helpful). An unusual episode simply because Bart freaks, otherwise you actually have to know something about American history to get some of the jokes in this one (what a subversive show). This one has the Itchy & Scratchy cartoon "Let Them Eat Scratchy" and Bart writing, "I will not encourage others to fly" on the blackboard during the credits. (4 Krusty Burgers)
