5 comments about Winter's Crossing.
- Once in a while, you find a CD that really is "moving" and special. I knew that "Winter Crossing" was one of these CDs the moment I put it in my CD player and pressed "play."
"Winter Crossing" is the "musical" story of Irish immigration. The fact that this CD is a "story" is one of its many unique aspects. Often, we listen to CDs that are simply a series of "pretty" or "cool" music, but these CDs aren't trying to tell us or show us something. Yet in "Winter's Crossing," it is apparent that by choosing certain songs in a chronological order, the makers of this CD were seeking to capture the many emotions-anticipation, anxiety, nostalgia, fear-of an Irish immigrant. Galway, Coulter, and their orchestra not only tried to capture these emotions and "make" us feel them as well, they succeeded in their attempt. "Winter's Crossing" opens with a haunting ballad, "Steal Away." Complete with "throaty" Irish pipes and soulful Irish voice, this song captures the feelings that many Irish must have had when they decided to leave their native country. Other moving "farewell" songs include the bagpipe/Irish pipe duet "Farewell to County Atrim," and the poignant narrative-set-to-music, "Thousands are Sailing." The next "phase" of "Winter's Crossing" shows the Irish experience on the actual journey (via ship) to America. Perhaps my favorite of these "journey" songs is "Gartan Mother's Lullabye," which uses the tones of Galway's calming, angelic flute to capture the sounds of a mother singing her baby to sleep amidst the squalor of the ship. The final "phase" of this CD deals shows us how the Irish adjusted to their new life in America. This final section opens with nostalgia (in the form of ballad "On the Shores of Amerikay") and ends with joy and triumph ("Appalachian Roundup") Galway, Coulter, and the orchestra involved in making this CD certainly deserve thanks for creating such a moving "work of art." When a piece of history is so wonderfully told, who needs the textbook?
- WINTER'S CROSSING is the second collaboration between two of Ireland's best known musicians: Phil Coulter and James Galway. The two create a musical tribute to the men and women who left Ireland in the nineteenth century to escape famine and poverty and find a home in North America. The music commemorates Irish history and the treacherous crossing of the cold Atlantic waters. In the music, the artists create a combination of at times opposites. The music can at times have a hard and harsh feel to it, yet it's also hopeful. There is a twinge of sadness but there's also great optimism in some pieces. We get a glimpse of Irish history in some pieces, and while we sense the hardship, we also know it's a new beginning.
Upon listening, I fell in love with certain pieces. "Farewell to County Antrim" is infectious. "Grand Banks Newfoundland" has a nautical appeal to it. "The Belfast Polka/Pennsylvania Railroad" is a medley the two artists seem to just enjoy and listeners do too. "Christmas Eve Ellis Island" and "Home Away from Home" are both beautiful and haunting, of people trying to make the best of a place they'd rather not be.
The disc was released not long after I returned from a trip to Ireland, so I was a bit more aware of my Irish heritage and a bit nostalgic as well, longing for good, authentic Irish music. Perhaps that's why I love this disc so much. People who enjoyed LEGENDS will love this set. The arrangements are similar to the first set, and like LEGENDS, Coulter and Galway work well together, always performing in a way that compliments the other. For me, it's perfect winter listening that helps me recall my heritage while listening to great music at the same time.
- What a beautiful collection! These are not your traditional Christmas songs. I was not familiar with any of the tunes. Very Irish flavor. The collection is a blend of ballads played with that unique Galway sound along with jigs. The collection is also available in sheet music form. Personally, there is nothing that has helped my sound more than listening to Galway and then playing the same thing I heard on the recording.
- I was introduced to Galway and Coulter via this CD. This music haunts me in a very positive way. I purchased the CD as one of my "New Christmas CD each year" projects several years ago. I moved 4 times after the purchase and in 2005 when I finally landed in my current (hopefully permanent) location I found I had lost the CD. This Christmas I was determined to find it or replace it because I needed this music to truely feel "home".
- The story of Irish coming to America told in song. A very moving collaboration by Phil Coulter and James Galway. The vocals as usual are outstanding.

- This is a great CD, perfect for the Halloween party or even at a Haunted House. A must have!!!
- "This CD is great to create a scary backdrop for trick or treating or a Halloween party. While other CD's have cheesy sound effects and music this one has a fluid story line and cinematic feel. We plan on having the best house on the block with the help of this CD."
- This is the GREATEST Halloween CD since Monster Mash. It is fun, entertaining and really puts you in the Halloween mood. The sound quality is impressive and the story line flows seamlessly track to track making for a compelling, enjoyable listen. More producers and writers should make an effort like this - this is Halloween entertainment!
- Have added this to my arsenal of Halloween stuff and love it! Very high quality and very scary. Definitely one to sit and listen to with the lights off and stereo turned up. Looking forward to using it at my party coming up in a few weeks. THUMBS UP!

- GREAT ALBUM! Not quite as BIG as Trans Siberian but still a keeper!
- The first two Mannheim Steamroller Christmas albums were absolute classics. Sadly, Christmas in the Aire is just a feeble attempt to generate some more sales by cashing in on Mannheim's previous fame. Save your money and stay away from this album.
- I read one review that said 2 stars... I'm assuming they were "under the influence" when they wrote that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though, no matter how cruddy. I LOVE this album. As a musician and someone who knows a little bit about sound engineering, it a treasure I enjoy every Christmas and sometimes a little into January! = )
- I must have lent, or gave away, my original copy of Christmas in the Aire; how happy I was to be able to obtain another copy to replace it. Keep up the good work, Mannheim Steamroller! You make my holiday complete.
- I have most of Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas CD's. This is one of the best and I never get tired of them. I bought this one to replace the one I had that no longer played.

- When I fist listened to the clips from this CD on Amazon I wondered why on earth they put the patriotic songs at the end, and also wondered a little at the other non christmas songs. After listening to it several times however I realized why. They don't leave Jesus in the manger, but take him all the way up to today! Wow. To me that is totally amazing. There arn't many christmas CD's that do that, but I think it really balances things out. I really enjoyed the Drummer Boy, and all of the rest of the songs. I would definantly say that this was a good buy.
- This was VERY disappointing - too noisy & just the wrong type of music for these guys. I played it once & will try to get someone to take it off my hands - I love listening the them, usually, but this album is just a dud.
- The 3 Irish Tenors are a joy to listen to in the Christmas season. I thoroughly enjoyed all of it.
- I love these Irish tenors, and am so happy to hear Finbar Wright replacing John McDermott..BUT - - am disappointed in this CD, mainly in the balance of tone. Sometimes the one carrying the melody is overpowered by the other two, and the orchestra on occasion drowns out the voices. Likely a problem not addressed by the engineer. The voices are gorgeous, though, as usual. My favorites on the CD are the solos and duets. "O Holy Night" is quite stirring. I have the disk on as I write this, and actually, I like it better the 2nd time than the first, but I won't want to play it very often, in contrast to the original trio on video. That one I like to play over & over. IMHO, "How Great Thou Art" is rather pedantic; very little feeling in the rendition by Finbar. In contrast, Anthony does a great job with "The Lord's Prayer." Makes you want to cry.
In these days when so many people are finding fault with America for so many things, it does my heart good to hear the Irish Tenors choose to sing "America the Beautiful"!
- As an avid fan of the Irish Tenors I thoroughly enjoyed this CD until the last three songs. While I appreciate the Irish Tenors showing their respect for this country and their American fans by recording "God Bless America" etc., I fail to understand what such songs are doing on a Christmas CD. I am especially surprised by the inclusion of "Battle Hymn of the Republic." This song was a marching melody for the Union Army during the civil war and I think it shows a naive misunderstanding of history to include that track on this CD. What has Christmas to do with the Civil War? The tenors need to realize they don't have to include American songs in order to sell to American citizens. Stop catering.

- This came as a CD and was in perfect shape. I gave it to a friend, who loves music. He was thrilled with the quality of the sound.
- You can't help but be in the Christmas mood when listening to this CD. Burl Ives IS Christmas personified! Great CD!!!
- My Mom had this on vinyl when I was still young enough to believe in Santa Claus. Listening to this album brought back all those wonderful childhood memories of Christmas before innocence is lost. Also, I got a real kick out of singing the title song with my daughter.
- This is my ALL TIME favorite Christmas CD, I had one for many years & when I opened the box up that held all my Christmas ones, the case was there but "NO" CD, I was "frantic" & searched the entire house, it was no where to be found.
I checked every store that I went into that sold CD's, but to no avail, then I came here and "WAHLA" there it was.
Thanks for making a 65 year old woman so happy.
- Burl Ives' 1965 "Have A Holly Jolly Christmas" is a perfect "album" - a truly cohesive audio snapshot which captures the aura of joy and hope which is what Christmas ought to be all about - even for atheists like myself.
My parents bought the LP in the sixties - and by the late seventies the LP was worn out. By the nineties the cassette recording of the LP had also bitten the dust, but the memories remained of my alltime favourite Christmas album.
This "AAD" (analogue source, analogue master) CD is an original stereo recording which has clearly been made with due care from the original master tape. It is a thrill to listen to - especially if you're already a fan of Burl's. I've been blessed with finding great condition LP versions of his earlier albums that I love - including "Wild Side Of Life", "Old Time Varieties" and "Captain Burl Ives Ark" - which I've transferred to CD. But vinyl is not the best quality long term storage medium - there's no substitute for a good condition master tape.
The production is excellent - even though there are a few places where you can hear the limitations of early sixties mixing equipment. A robust and warm tone is evident in each track and I love the instrumental and vocal arrangements.
I also greatly appreciate that this CD includes the LP's original cover notes (and that no "extra tracks" were added).

5 comments about That Holiday Feeling!.
- I have enjoyed this for over 30 years. Up until now I had to listen to the vinyl version. It's great they finally made this available on CD and give you 2 bonus tracks too. This is Christmas Music at it's best. I just hope the radio stations add this to their playlist.
- Growing up in the 60s and 70s, this was my family's favorite Christmas album. Even with the durable vinyl that Columbia Records used, I believe we went through three or possibly four copies.
With the advent of CDs in the early 80s, I gave up my turntable and sold off most of my LPs -- and of course soon missed this recording, since it wasn't to be found on CD. After dozens and dozens and dozens of listenings over the years, I could "hear" this album in my head, but of course it wasn't the same.
So I was overjoyed to find this recording finally remastered onto CD last year. Having become a musician in the intervening years, when I played the CD I experienced not only nostalgia from my childhood but also found that my now-trained musical ear immediately recognized these instrumental arrangements as being top-notch. Steve and Eydie were of course in exceptional vocal form when they made this recording [and the digital transfer is terrific], but since they are noted for being dedicated to having the right orchestral sound, they certainly chose an excellent crew [headed by the great Don Costa] when they made this recording. The musicians and the orchestrations are a perfect match for the vocalists.
The "big band" sound on some of the tracks is terrific, but the softer selections feature some really shimmering and subtle orchestral work. I won't do a track-by-track review, but here's a prime example: Anyone doing "White Christmas" always has Bing Crosby in their memory, since that song-and-artist are one of the classic partnerships. There have been a LOT of covers over the years, but they've all been lame attempts at being cheery and warm. However, the arrangement here for Eydie Gorme takes a decidedly different tack, starting with a decidedly bittersweet intro and going on to include some rapturous yet very subdued backing vocals. And Miss Gorme's vocals are passionate and full-bodied. The result is a version that is so unique and beautifully artistic that it more than holds its own if anyone insists on comparing it with Crosby's. No easy task, that.
Mr. Lawrence is of course terrific as well. His creamy baritone fits his solos very well -- a smooth sound, and a knack for lyric interpretation. Well, the same can be said for Miss Gorme, for both these artists have a true talent for really dedicating themselves to the song at hand [as opposed to the multitude of performers whose prime concern has been to make the song merely a tool to show off their voices]. On the numerous duets, they both make the fun palpable and engaging.
Given the plethora of pop music Christmas albums that have been produced over the decades, this really is one of the few that really feels like a holiday album. Other artists think merely warbling their way through holiday songs is sufficient, but Lawrence and Gorme are never anything less than a joy -- their infectious fun and heartfelt singing make this sound like a live performance rather than a studio recording. Even the use of sleighbells on one number, usually a very hackneyed, trite, and pedantic orchestral trick, actually contributes to the fun and doesn't sound remotely corny.
So if you like singers with exquisite taste and solid vocal technique, if you like Christmas albums that aren't hokey and workmanlike, and if you appreciate truly artistic and vibrant orchestrations, you will quickly come to love this fine recording.
Forget Amazon's limit of five stars for ratings -- this one gets ten stars from me.
-
I used to have this "album" on 33 1/3 vinyl and made the mistake of lending it out one year. I have searched for this title for 25 years and finally it was re released. It is the essence of the time of year brought
to you by sincere and dedicated singers who "live" the Holiday season. A must buy.....
- This CD was hard to find in the stores. However to my delight, Amazon had it in stock. Thank you, thank you, I'll be enjoying this CD for many years to come at Christmas time.
- In 1964, STEVE LAWRENCE and EYDIE GORME recorded a christmas album called THAT HOLIDAY FEELING. It was arranged and conducted by DON COSTA, a well known arranger/conductor who was in high demand in those years because he was so good at what he did. This album, now released on cd, has become a christmas masterpiece and classic and is so good that it is a contender for the "greatest 'crooner' christmas album of all-time." Not just that but it is also one of the greatest christmas albums, regardless of 'crooner' or not, that has ever been released. I would say that out of over 200 christmas albums I own, this is probably in the top 10 and maybe, just maybe, the top 5.
Along with the fabulous duet singing of STEVE LAWRENCE (who sounds so much like FRANK SINATRA on this release, but a more cheerful SINATRA if you can imagine that) and EYDIE GORME (what a sweet voice she has), both STEVE and EYDIE take solo turns on some songs as well. Their singing, whether as a duet or solo, is pretty much as great as the greatest vocal singers of the 1950's/1960's era. Add to that a wonderful chorus that pops in sometimes and of course, the more than wonderful orchestra music from DON COSTA and the orchestra that often goes into the very lush mode, you know you have the making of a great to perfect christmas album.
It's style is a take on the traditional 'crooner' approach but magnified a time or two over. It goes over the walls of the norm of 'crooner' christmas music and becomes something magical and at times, dreamy. It has it's deep, emotional but lush (including very lush strings) and sometimes magical and dreamy moments in songs like THE CHRISTMAS SONG sung by STEVE LAWRENCE or HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS or WHITE CHRISTMAS sung by EYDIE. There is even a bit (or influence) of lounge music here and there in these songs and some others by the orchestra.
However, it's often style is that of happiness, with such songs as THAT HOLIDAY FEELING, WINTER WONDERLAND, SLEIGHRIDE, HAPPY HOLIDAY, SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN, HURRY HOME FOR CHRISTMAS, and so many more. All of these are sung by STEVE and EYDIE together in their fabulous and flawless duet style.
And speaking of their duet style, that's one of the things that helps make this album so special from most/all the other 'crooner' christmas albums out there, is their duet style. No other that I can think of takes this approach so you get something very fresh, new, and original with this, THAT HOLIDAY FEELING album and so you can have something different and unique from the usual christmas 'crooner' standards yet just as, or more beautiful and great than these normal christmas 'crooner' standards.
In many of the songs, you will be able to tell that STEVE and EYDIE really are enjoying themselves and had alot of fun recording this album and many of these songs will really give the listener that 'fun' feeling.
There are also 2 bonus songs on this cd reissue but they are of the same style as the actual album from 1964, so everything fits together perfectly to where I can say that every single song on this cd is a christmas gem. No weak song anywhere throughout. That's one of the reasons why this is a christmas masterpiece.
I would compare this album, if I can, mostly to KATE SMITH - THE KATE SMITH CHRISTMAS ALBUM (1966). If you own this KATE SMITH ALBUM, you get alot of that same singing power and music power here on this THAT HOLIDAY FEELING album. Other comparisons are PERRY COMO - SEASONS GREETINGS (1959), and FRANK SINATRA - A JOLLY CHRISTMAS WITH FRANK SINATRA (1957). But this, THAT HOLIDAY FEELING album has it's own overall flavor and let me tell you, you wil be getting something really unique and powerful here. As mentioned at the top of this review, it may be the #1 christmas 'crooner' album ever and is battling for that position against a few others including the KATE SMITH and PERRY COMO albums mentioned above.
If you want the best in christmas music for your holiday season, then this is a definite one to get.

5 comments about Medieval & Renaissance Minstrels, Songs & Dances.
- This cd is worth picking up. Yes the first couple of tracks have pops and crackles in it. And yes it sounds as if the music was transfered directly from a vinyl source. But the performances and selections on this cd are fabulous. And you get use to the flaws in the recordings. Which I find minor.
This cd was actually the first Medieval and Renaissance album I ever bought. I bought it randomly in 1992 to try and introduce myself to these two era's of Classical music. And it was PERFECT. I have been a loyal fan of Medieval & Renaissance music ever since. I currently own 25 to 30 cd's covering these era now. And this album is still one of my favorites......
- This was one of the first recordings of early music I ever bought. It's a broad survey of styles and periods, from the 12th to 17th centuries. I've become a more sohisticated listener since then, but I still get this one out fairly regularly. The recording is apparently old and the digital remastering was not done extraordinarily well, but those who are more interested in music than in audio equipment should be able to listen through the occasional (minor) vinyl surface noise. My major complaint (why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4) is the lack of documentation--there is no information about the musicians, and many of the composers are uncredited (some because they actually are anonymous, but sometimes out of apparent laziness). Still, at this price it's a bargain.
- It is perhaps unfair to judge the performances on this recording (presumably made in the late 1950s/early 60s? - we are not given a date) by modern standards of early music performance. Yes, there are moments when the experimental nature of the approach is all too apparent, both in terms of the [im]plausibility of the interpretations and in the [at times] excruciating intonation (a particularly pertinent example is the shawm playing in track 10). But what is in fact by far the most deplorable feature of this recording is the utter sparsity of information provided - about the performers, the instruments, the composers, the repertoire, etc. Worse still, what little that is provided is often hopelessly inaccurate: sometimes in the form of blatant spelling errors (eg the Coventry Carol becomes here 'Lully Lullary', etc), at other times factual blunders (the medieval 'Estampie' in track 10 is in fact a 16th cent [ie Renaissance] tourdion, 'Quand je bois du vin clairet', whilst John Dowland's 'Frogg Galliard', c.1597, is here given an anonymous attribution...etc, etc, etc).
In short, for those not acquainted with pre-Baroque music, this is NOT a good place to start!!! Seasoned Early Music connoisseurs, on the other hand, may find a perverse pleasure in some atrocious moments, or perhaps take interest in its value as an example of historically informed performance style in the pioneering years - but you have been warned!!
For those interested, here are some alternative recommendations if you are new to this music: firstly, 2 wide-ranging compilations by 2 well-known ensembles -
1. Sinners and Saints - The New London Consort/Philip Pickett (Decca 48559)
2. Portrait ('Moyen Age et Renaissance') - Hesperion XX/Jordi Savall (Auvidis Fontalis 'Portrait' ES9904), or either of the 2 new compilations by Savall and his ensemble(s) on Alia Vox ('Harmonie Universelle', AV9810; 'Harmonie Universelle II', AV9839).
and a compilation (mostly of early music) featuring a number of different groups -
'Pastime with Good Company' (Alpha, A901) [includes groups like L'Arpegiatta, Le Poeme Harmonique, Diabolus in Musica...]
- The first one I got had a lot of popping and crackling, and some digital defects that cause the CD player to skip. I liked the music so I bought another copy and it was the same. Both wound up in the trash. Don't waste your money on this disk.
- This is a fun album. it's festive, playful, and a real joy to listen to. There is something for everyone in this album--including and especially SCAdians. In fact there's probably at least one piece on this album that every SCAdian dancer, musician, and/or bard will recognize. There's courtly songs, love songs, and get out of your chair dances, even formal pieces you associate with concert halls.
Whether you play in the SCA or just love great historical music, this is one of the better albums I've ever bought--on amazon or anywhere else!

5 comments about The Christmas Album, Vol. 2.
- With a velvet voice what more could you wish to listen to,sat next to a blazing log fire, with snow gently falling outside
- Neil Diamond's second Christmas album is a rare treat. It's debatable as to whether it's better than volume 1. Some may say it is; I personally say #1 is the superior. But most are agreed that they're both enjoyable and memorable Christmas albums. My favorites are "Joy to the World" (it begins with sharp piano notes and is eventually joined by a young gospel choir); "Mary's Boy Child" (a little-known and little-heard Christmas hymn and Neil does a wonderful job with it); "Away in a Manger" (nothing unique here, it's just that this classic song, for whatever reason, is missing on most Christmas albums); and the "Hallelujah Chorus" (an admirable effort that pays off very well).
Most of the others are sung in the good old fashioned traditional style--the way they were meant to be sung, if I may be so bold. The only song I don't really care for that much is "Deck the Halls/We Wish You a Merry Christmas". It seems to have a little of that musical style somewhat similar to his rendition of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" on volume 1. Except this one does not have as much of the "barbershop quartet" style to it. Whatever it is, it's an approach that Neil Diamond does not have the right voice for. But even that one is tolerable.
Overall, this is an excellent Christmas album which will not disappoint the average Christmas music enthusiast.
- I may be giving this a rating that's slightly too high, but because he is much better this time around, this will get a four star rating. These songs are still "Neil Diamafied"(A description of the stately way that he kind of talk-sings), but at least I could sit and listen to this volume without wanting to leave the room or vomit. I don't know if these songs suit his singing style, or that he worked harder at singing them correctly or what, but I think I might not sell Volume II like I did my Volume I a couple of days ago on the Amazon website. I am kind of dumbfounded how a Jew who doesn't believe that Jesus is the messiah, can sing songs about Jesus being the savior, but whatever floats his boat. Who knows he might be in the organization JEWS FOR JESUS, which are Jews who believe Jesus is the messiah. He doesn't ham up this set of songs like he did on the first volume, so that makes it a much more enjoyable listen. If you're a big Neil Diamond fan, you need not hesitate.
- Awesome! Neil does it again. I love his voice, his choice of songs. Volume 2 is almost as good as Volume 1!
- o' come all ye faithfull. when i think of christmas my thoughts are of christmas trees, a warm fire, a tall glass of a fine coniac, and an old jewish man singing carolls. this is the only christmas cd that will really bring the hollidays home. if you want your family home for the hollidays, just let them know that neil diamond will be there wanting, singing and steeling the good china.

- Simply put - you need to have some modern Christmas music, so as not to get overwhelmed with Bing Crosby and the sort. This is one of the rock genre must-haves, although also included are traditional tunes with beautiful harmonies. I know you remember "Little Saint Nick" but wait till you hear the humorous "Santa's Beard". It's another modern Christmas classic. We drove around last year looking at lights with my sister-in-law and her 5 year old son (both new to this music) and they were enthralled with The Beach Boys!
Add Phil Spector's Christmas Album and some Chuck Berry ("Run Run Rudolph") and Elvis and Eartha Kitt ("Santa Baby") and you can make it through December.
- great harmonies on a varied selection on Holiday tunes. Not just the same dozen overdone by so many artists.
- If you love the beach boys these are great songs. Has songs that are not all traditional. Even my teenagers liked it and they are not big on older music.
- This CD is a terrific one! Everyone, including my 3 year old, really enjoyed listening to it and it really got us in the spirit of things!
- This album sounds unusually in comparison to some other Christmas albums showing Beach Boys A Capela famous sound. I would suggest this album to every BB fan.

3 comments about Christmas with the Everly Brothers and the Boys Town Choir.
- I became interested in this album back in the 80's when I saw the Everlys reunion concert in Minneapolis. In the souvenir book they had a picture of all there Warner Albums and to my surprise a Christmas album. After looking for it for about 15 years in every antique store and record shop around I finally found it online. Now to my amusement its a budget cd. When I first heard this album I was surprised, no chugging Gibson guitars, no country or rock and roll. This album is the closest thing to Gospel with choir and Church organ, that Phil and Don have done. With this album being out of print so long I would recommend it to any one who is sick of the modern secular and christian pop Christmas Albums. Phil and Dons version of silent night alone is
worth more then the price of the cd. My only gripe is that I had hoped this would come out with some unreleased songs or takes if they exsist.
- Well, I found this album on record last Xmas - I love the Everly Brothers, and if you're like me, you'll want them singing Xmas songs to you when that time of year comes around. As far as albums go, well, it was probably cut in a few hours - no need to critique it, as far as Xmas albums go in general, this is pretty good fare - not a whole lot of energy in it, and in a way, it's pretty strange to hear their voices singing Xmas songs with a choir behind them - but that alone is worth the price of admission. Probably only for the true fan, or those who want some good quality Xmas music.
- This cd is of course a new pressing of a very old recording of the Everly Brothers with The Boys Town Choir.
The recording was for that time very good, but the sound of this cd is not as you may expect from its first budget cd release from 2005.
Still it's The Everly Brothers with the wonderfull Boys Town Choir. A true collector's item for the fans of the Everly Brothers and of Boys Town and it's choir.
It's a unique combination. They sing the Chrismas songs as they should be sung. Far better than the commercial Christmas songs from this time!
It is a Christmas to be remembered! A pity that the playing time is only 26 minutes!
