1. Anne's voice never sounded better and it's a delight to see and hear the talents of Canadian Roch Voisine (who's phenomenal voice sounds like Jim Croce) and Barenaked Ladies. With lush scenery of Toronto landmark The Old Mill as the backdrop, there's plenty of music (and two performances of Elvis Stojko) to keep young and old happy. Despite some trite dialogue with the guests on this special, the musical highlights include the gospel-sounding "No Room at the Inn," and, quite surpisingly, the inspired harmony of Anne singing with her husband, son, and daughter. Who knew!?! A MUST for Anne Murray fans and those who appreciate gifted voices and harmony.



2. Anne Murray, The Barenaked Ladies, Rock Voisine, and her family join you in an hour of singing carols and rejoicing in the Christmas Spirit. A Christmas like no other, it will bring your spirits of Christmas right along with you, and once again Anne Murray has succeeded in bringing her voice into your heart and making your soul sing along.



3. The richness of her voice and the warmth of her style make you feel that Anne Murray is having this Christmas gathering just for you.
   
   The beautiful setting lends itself to holiday photography and there is excellent sound on this DVD. While the jacket lists one of her guests as "international sensation Roch Voisine," I never heard of this Canadian favorite. Now that I have heard him, I'll be looking for more of his work. Roch introduces a song he wrote just for this party, CHRISTMAS IS CALLING. His guitar work is outstanding. Anne and Roch follow with an unusual medley WE THREE KINGS, THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY, THE STORY OF THE THREE BELLS (about Little Jimmy Brown) and DECK THE HALLS. Their voices blend beautifully. It would be a treat to hear more of their duets on another Christmas special. It's worth the price of the DVD just to hear these stars sing together.
   
   Two ice rink segments feature champion skater Elvis Stojko and there's a segment where Anne sings with the pop rock group Barenaked Ladies. There are plenty of old standards but it's nice to have some contemporary Christmas songs, too. THIS SEASON WILL NEVER GROW OLD with words and music by Canada's Rita MacNeil is now on my list of contemporary favorites. It's a joy to have Anne's voice fill my home with this song along with all the others on this program.

1. Ok, yeah, wow, can't believe I'm the first to review this. This is one of the BEST Christmas albums I've ever heard. See, it's weird cuz it's not like normal Crystal Lewis stuff. She took her voice which is SOOO jazzy anyway, nice bluesy quality, complete with odd vowel-sounds and everything, then she took herself, an AMAZING pianist/arranger (I think his name is Alan Pasqua, or somesuch), a great jazz drummer, and a great bassist (along with some others guest musicians here and there) and they went out west in the summer and cut this disc. But see, they did it the old-school way: live in the studio, recorded in one or two takes. And it really is evident, THIS ALBUM FEELS OLD. I mean that in the best way possible. This isn't pop-star croons christmas. This is like taking a trip back to the heyday of jazz, but with EXCELLENT sound quality and music theory that's just brilliant. Much more sound theory-wise than her "attack of the screamin' rays" swing project. It's fun enough and beautiful enough to win the masses, yet technically sound enough to stand up against the most brutal jazz musician's critique. Enjoy!

1. I am begging Papa Roach fans to not purchase this album. Why you may ask? Because this cd is not endorsed by Papa Roach at all, it is the recordings of Papa Roach's first cd but in no way are they recieving any of the profits made by this cd. This cd is being released through a corrupt producer who stole the old recordings they originally did so he could make his own profit, Papa Roach had said it themselves that they would you rather download Potatoes for Christmas then buy it. If you want proof please visit their official messageboard at www.brokenh.com to hear it from their own mouths. I have also strongly urged amazon.com to discontinue the sale of the cd as the "producer" is making a profit on someone elses stolen property.
   
   Please i beg you again if you love Papa Roach as much as I do, do the right thing and do not purchase this cd

I want to thank the fan that said DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! i am on my knees begging along with them i love Papa Roach and would love nothing more than to own this album but i checked it out and it's true it is NOT endorsed buy the band and there getting nothing!!! out of the pure respect i have for the best band of earth, if you just wait the band will endorse and redo the songs themselves, i DID NOT!!! buy this, i beg you all to do the same.



3. I do enjoy this cd...it sounds nothing like what your known papa roach sounds like. But i would also say do not buy this. Lik emany of the other reviews say..the band did not approve of the release of this cd. It is a copy of their first album. If you want the tracks jsut download them...as said by teh band. Entertaining to listen to...very energetic...and different...but dont buy it ...not because its bad...because the band doesnt want you tooo.



4. What!? The band from my hometown that currently puts out retarded melodic poppy albums actually has a good CD? Believe it or not, yes. The band members have obviously lost their mind by abandoning their older style that appears on this, their first release (released in 1994). And what's even more stupid is the band apparently was upset because this was released without their permission! And apparently they aren't making money off of this. This is one reason I encourage people to buy this album, because I absolutely DON'T want to support this band, they put out too much gay heartthrob music now. So, do the band a disfavor and buy this album now.
   
   The closest band that can be compared with this CD is Nuclear Rabbit, whom they kind of rip off (and whom Toby, the vocalist, has said was an influence on their music), though this album (well, demo technically) is more alternative/grunge/garage rock sounding, but also with funky guitar playing and bass slapping/popping. This music is much more fun, care-free, interesting, energetive and with less restraints than there current awful sonic dissatisfaction. I Love Babies is by far the best. If you think that their newer releases are better than this CD, than something is wrong with you.

5. i remember seeing them live at 3 oaks community center...it is a shame they didnt release this a long time agi..they could have gotten somethign for it. now all the got to do is release the "real" version of tight rope of the last demo they made..plus the 5 tracks deep cd...which was stolen. even though the band members arent still around this cd is still good. its a shame they made it big...they rarely came back to vacaville

1. Praise God!!! Praise God!!! Praise God!!! I love the anointing that God has placed on Pastor Shirley's life. I love the way that she sings "O Holy Night" I ordered it last week and I played that song over and over. I wish that she'd put all 3 verses in it. I know that 2nd verse was a God given verse.
   
   I just ordered her album called Christmas. I believe I'll enjoy it also. It's now September 17, 2006. I'll now have some beautiful songs for this up coming Christmas.
