1 comments about Santa Paws: The Picture Book (Santa Paws).
- I am a sucker for happy ending animal stories and saw this one at the library and knew I would make my child read it as part of her schoolwork. As a second grader, it took her 40 minutes to read at a medium pace. It is about a dog looking for a home around Christmas time, but while doing that he does several heroic deeds and becomes recognized in the community as Santa Paws. One particular boy has run-ins with him and wishes he could keep him. The dog also wants the boy to take him and he spends several pages in the book looking for the boy all over town. The ending is for you to find out by yourself.
The artwork is nice in the book, although is a step below my favorite such as the illustrations in the Jan Brett books. The story doesn't pull on your heartstrings too much. You feel sad for the dog, but he is never described as suffering other than being a little hungry and cold at times. I liked the book, but not enough to go out and get my own copy to keep for years and years.

3 comments about Big Bird's Ticklish Christmas (Sesame Street).
- My two year old loves this book. We received it as a present last year for Christmas and have been reading it all year long. I know it by heart. "Next there passed some carolers singing fa-la-la-la-la. They heard the laughs, then changed their tunes to Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha." She loves this part and says it each time. It is a really cute book for a little bit of money.

5 comments about Alabaster's Song: Christmas through the Eyes of an Angel.
- As a Preschool Teacher of 4 and 5 year olds, I have read many books about the Christmas Story. This book is by far, the childrens' favorite. It is both touching and exciting. I have never read one of Max Lucado's books that I was not absolutely thrilled with.
- Alabaster's Song is a story that you should own, even if you don't have a child. It is warm and sweet, and brings you back to the place where the child inside each one of us still lives.
As always, Max Lucado has the gift of reaching down into the depths of your heart and soul, and touching you, drawing you closer to God. Make this book part of your library, part of your Christmas traditions. I read it each year to my "babies", who are now 19, 17, and 13. It is a tradition I will carry on with my grandchildren.
- This is a fabulous book that brings to mind the wonder of Christmas through a child's eyes. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is timeless and unforgettable! I read this story to my children, ages 11, 8, and 4, each year around Christmas. I even read it to my MOPS group as a Christmas reading last year. Thank you, Max Lucado, for another wonderful children's book!
- Very cute story about a little boy whose Christmas Tree angel comes to life to sing sweet songs to him. Gorgeous artwork brings the story to life with brilliance. I loved that the story repeated itself once the little boy grew up and had a son of his own who hears the angels music.
- This is one of the most beautifully illustrated, delightful stories I have had the good fortune to encouter. Alabaster, the spirited little angel, touches the life a boy with positive results. The message in this gentle story is that when good is done, pass it on. It is so lovely, so moving that it might make one misty eyed. This book is a real treasure. Max Lucado and the illustrator have used their talents to enrich the lives of others.

1 comments about Mickey's Christmas Carol (Disney's Wonderful World of Reading, 53).
- Walt Disney has superbly adapted his characters to those of the famous Charles Dicken's Christmas story. Great entertainment for young and old, with lots of laughs. This story keeps with the true meaning of Christmas and is a great book for the kids. It shows all about love and sharing, and teaches what Christmas is all about. Disney has been delightful in the choice of characters and settings. A MAGICAL book!

1 comments about A Rancid Little Christmas.
- Clever, engaging, and worthy of being animated and turned into a seasonal episode of the series, this is one of the better NICKELODEON juvenile novels and a superior treatment of the tricky characters from the CatDog universe. Fast paced and laugh out loud funny for kids (and adults), this surreal treatment of Rancid Rabbit's attempt to muscle out Santa Claus AND the Easter Bunny is not to be missed. Highest Recommendation!
