1. I'm an elementary music teacher who bought this book to share with my classes. It is a beautifully illustrated book, but the reading level is a bit advanced for a picture book. I found myself having to explain every page because it was written in such a idomatic, abstract way, with advanced sentence structure and vocabulary. The themes were a little grown up too: his Godfather was an executioner? The page about World War 1 was almost cryptic the way it was written. I had to read it twice to my 4th and 5th graders before they had even a slight idea what it was talking about. For my K through 3 students I found myself mostly summerizing and paraphrasing everything to keep from having to explain all the time. This book LOOKS child-friendly, but the writing style is definitely NOT.

1. This is not a regular lift-the-flap book. It's a foam book, with cardstock pages glued on. It has removable shapes, like several one-piece puzzles. I'm worried that the pieces will get lost, so I am planning to return the book.



2. My daughter loves this book! She was 20 months around Christmas time and it is so hard to find nativity books for that age group that keep their interest. This book is so well loved, we haven't put it away even though it is well after Christmas.
   
   To respond to the other review, yes, it is foam with puzzle pieces. They are, however, very sturdy and do not fall out on their own. They are easy enough for a toddler to get the pieces out.
   
   I like this book because it is the one nativity book that my daughter wants to read again and again because it is fun. She lets me actually read the words since she is interested in the book.
   
   I will be ordering the other books in this series.

1. I have been waiting for this book to arrive for more than two years. Ever since I heard Leslie Norris read it along with his poetry I have waitied and waited for this book to be here so that I could read it at my family Christmas party. Unlike so many other things, my memory did not overshadow the real experience when the book finally arrived. After seeing the illustrations and reading the book for myself, I can forgive the publishers for the many delays I was made to endure. I read with renewed astonishment the wonderful prose of Leslie Norris telling the story of Albert trying to get his mother a special gift for Christmas. I fell in love with children's stories once again.

   Once every now and then, a book comes along that you are just dying to share with your friends and family. This is such a book. Norris has a beautiful ear for the way children speak and an amazing imagination to see things the way children must. I say this because it is remarkable how close his words come to the way my own son speaks and plays.

   Albert and the Angels makes you believe in a world of magic and inspiration. The words and the illustrations make for a wonderful evening with your children. I cannot praise this book enough, so you will have to see for yourself what I am talking about.




2. Leslie Norris's book is excellent. I bought three copies... one for my nieces, one for my aunt, and one for myself! I was fortunate to hear Mr.Norris read the book, as well as read a rough draft he wrote that might soon be another Albert and Lucille story!! For anyone looking for the perfect holiday gift, Albert and the Angels is excellent! The writing is superb and the illustrations are fabulous. This book is HIGHLY recommended.

1. My own reason why I think that The Wiggles: A Very Wiggly Christms is just like the DVD, Yule Be Wiggling, is because Santa Claus, needed help from The Wiggles. Since one of Santa's reindeer was sick and couldn't pull the slaigh, The Big Red Car was The Wiggles only hope-and delivering presents to children from around the world worked so magically well.
   All I have to say now is that today, I've already read this new book. I'll wish The Wiggles my very own Wiggly Christmas to them, in December.



2. I bought this book as a special treat for potty training and boy, did it work! The story is so very cute and really helps with introducing the different celebrations of Christmas throughout the world. It's nice that there's someone out there finally caring about the quality of books and videos that children are seeing and reading, and the Wiggles are simply the best, in my opinion. Thanks so much Wiggles for providing such educational, fun, and enjoying items!



3. We got this book for my soon to be two year old son at Christmastime, it's now February and he wants it read to him every night and even sleeps with it! I would highly recommend it, especially to help your young child get used to Santa.

1. This tiny, 4 inch book is not at all what I was expecting. I teach New York State History and Geography, and was hoping I could use this book with my class. Instead, I found a Santa headed for Sing-Sing...not exactly the uplifting, positive role-model-type book I want to read to my class. Quality of book and writing VERY disappointing.
