1. At first I felt this book was a way to brain wash into Cheerio world...no need for that.. Cheerios are already a favorite.This book has a great combination of color and designs. I think because the spots where the real cheerios are supposed to be placed are cut out into the page it makes it that much more interesting to the touch and inquisitiveness. We look and "read: this book everyday! Thanks!

1. Tell the publisher to get some more copies out here! This is the best Christmas book for children. A wonderfule story, wonderful pictures - reverential, yet understandable for children.



2. What more can be said? The story tells the nativity story in a sweet, gentle, non-preaching way. It shares the warmth and love of a child, hearing the story for the first time. A must have for any family with children and should be considered a classic.

1. A very dear friend of mine gave me a copy of Roberto Innocenti's lavishly illustrated take on Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." A holiday classic in its own right (check out the wonderful 1938 cinematic adaptation starring Reginald Owen, newly released on DVD for the first time), Innocenti's incredibly detailed watercolours bring Dickens' London to life: we peer through windows to see mothers caring for sick children, see delights piled up in shop windows, and small details that give depth to the story (the Dutch-tiled fireplace in Scrooge's home, the Cratchit threadbare hovel). The paper stock is very good quality, as is the ink. A worthwhile investment for children old enough to appreciate this timeless tale, sure to become a treasured symbol of Christmas.



2. There's not much to say about Dickens' classic that has not already been said. But what one can say is that the illustrations from Roberto Innocenti are wonderful, with an astonishing attention to detail and a keen sense of period (one of the illustrations, the one set at a corner of a busy and snowy market street, has almost 100 characters in it, and a richly detailed portrayal of common life).



3. This edition is simply beautiful and we're really glad that we got it. The illustrations are gorgeous. This book is a keepsake. Charles Dickens is, without a doubt, one of the greatest storytellers ever. This story is one of the best ever. Our entire family is loving this story - 3 generations of us! - the oldest being in his late 70's and the youngest is 8. Proof a great story. Everyone loves the pictures. Amongst the most beautiful ever!

Another classic story from the author of "The Beejum Book", "Lara's First Christmas" is a lovely story about a lonely little girl who finds the meaning of friendship and Christmas in a snowbound little hotel in Norway. "Lara's First Christmas" is vividly written in simple prose that makes the story enjoyable and accessable even to a small child. But this sweet little book is not only for the little ones--the message of love, kindness and Christmas spirit can be heard and embraced by everyone, even an ancient 12-year-old, such as myself. "Lara's First Christmas" is absolutely charming, and I heartily recommend it.



2. This is not your typical Christmas story, as it reflects a child's life so effectively in capturing the bittersweet miracle that is Christmas. Ms. Howell is a natural story teller and carries the reader along on that midwinter train ride to the upper reaches of Norway's mountains with Laura and her family. As an adult I was fascinated and frustrated by the political fears and apprehensions that seem to haunt her parents, yet Laura obviously wise beyond her years knows how to cope and thrive in uncertain circumstances. The friends she meets upon that Norwegian mountain opens her heart to joy and universality of the Christmas experience. This is one Christmas book that avoids all the sentimental cliches that make similar books so mawkish.
   This was such an enjoyable read that I have ordered Ms. Howell's "Beejum Book" in anticipation of more reading pleasure.
