  1. This book is one of the best books I have ever read. It kept me interested through the entire book. I couldn't put it down! I recommend this book for anybody who likes an amusing story and plot and a book that is wild with adventure every second of the story!

  2. This is a cute, humorous book but parents BEWARE! This book is NOT for Santa believers.

  3. My son, 10.5 tore through it! He couldn't put it down. Something really cool, when your child is reading to themselves and they bust out laughing out loud.

  1. When I brought these books home, my kids (5 and 7) took one look and had to read them right away. The stories are entertaining and they loved the colorful, funny illustrations. The kids especially enjoyed reading along with the CD that came with the story. It has the author reading, as well as sound effects and voices. My son reads the books on his own now and repeats all the sounds he heard on the CD. There is always a good lesson to learn in each story as well. This is a great series of books for any kid, of any age, who ever wondered what Santa Claus does when he's not delivering Christmas presents!

5 comments about Morris's Disappearing Bag: A Christmas Story/ Storytime Tie-in (Storytime).
  1. I have been searching for this book since we had our first grandchild five years ago. I read it to my girls; it was one of their favorites. I'm sure our copy fell apart from "too much love" and I want to be sure our grandchildren have a chance to experience Morris.

  2. Like all of Rosemary Wells' work, this book could not be improved upon! I grew up on her books, and still collect them. Her characters are illustrated in such a way that their every expression enchants, and not a word is wasted in the creation of a perfect story. In Morris' Disappearing Bag, youngest child Morris feels left out on Christmas morning while his three older siblings exchange turns playing with each others' new toys. Morris will not be consoled by his parents or by his new teddy bear. But (in characteristic Wells fashion) a surprise is in store for us that will make this Christmas a magical one for Morris--and an unforgettable read for everyone. (I've read this book every year since 1980, and I assure you, it's a must-have!)

Rosemary Wells always knows how to touch the heart, be the reader adult or toddler. Max and Ruby and her Bunny Planet books are fantastic, but please keep a look out for her older (and just as perfect) ones as well.

  3. From the first reading this book was an instant top of the bookshelf for my two sons, and then later my niece. It is simple, but somehow entertains the imagination magically. Just what does go on inside of that bag??? Even though the kids are now teenagers, they still argue over who truely owns "Morris". This Christmas all three "kids" will receive their own copy, but mom is keeping the orignal hardback version!

  4. This charming little book has been an important part of our children's Christmas for 15 years. We have had to replace it several times due to loving wear. Now we give it regularly to friends young and old. A perfect story, gentle and understanding, for everyone who remembers being a little kid at Christmas.

  5. This was one of my favorite books when I was a little girl. In my early 20s, I somehow thought of this book and tried to find it again, but I couldn't remember the author's name or the title of the book. All I remembered were bunnies and a "disappearing bag." I am ordering this book right away. This book is a must for all children.

3 comments about Shrek the Halls (Shrek).
  1. I'm a devoted "SHREK-ITE." Sad to say, but I missed the televised Christmas special last week. Consequently, I'd like to buy a copy of this "mini" Shrek IV! When might it become available? We have a lot of holidays and I'd love to share ALL OF THEM with Shrek and family and friends!

  2. I bought this gift for two different people at christmas. A woman who loves Shrek. And a guy who calls me and my husband mr and mrs shrek!

Wonderful books, great for kids, great for adults. If you own the movies buy the book!

Add it to your collection TODAY!!

  3. I've seen the Tv Special Shrek The halls, and although I admit that I'm not a huge fan of Shrek, I decided to give it a watch to get into the Christmas Spirit. Let me tell you that I've never laughed sooo hard at the comedy antics of this special. Shrek doesn't know the meaning of Christmas, so he gets a book "Christmas for Village Idiots." to better understand the meaning of Christmas. I thought it was hilarious when Donkey had produced a special Christmas card featuring himself dressed in a Santa suit as "Donkey Clause" or "Santa Donkey" with his big smile standing next the Christmas Tree with the message written on the bottom "Merry Christmas from Donkey and Family" Then during the party, Donkey tells his side of the story of "Twas the night before Christmas" and it's really funny since it shows huge giant cheese logs, a giant fountain of egg nog, and a giant waffel float in a parade covered with maple syrup. Then the Gingerbread man tells his horror story of his date ending in horror, as his gingerbread girfriend gets eaten up by a giant Santa Clause. The dragon was asked by Donkey to help cook the Christmas Eve meal, But it got too well done.
But the ultimate funny story is when Shrek finally understands the true meaning of Christmas and tells his Oger babies the Christmas story in Shrek's own oger way. The kids and maid are sound asleep Kazooin in their beds. Santa Shrek gave the babies each a bottle of stinky swamp juice and he then goosed the maid. (almost what you thought is was going to be, but because it's a kid's special, he gave her a goose to cook for Christmas dinner.) Then Shrek gave off a huge burp that decorated the home with Christmas decorations. A very funny Tv Special, and I would definately buy a copy of this tv special when it comes out for the Christmas holidays.
