1 comments about Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Merry Christmas (Strawberry Shortcake).
- Gorgeous illustrations and a sweet tale are the highlight of this Strawberry Shortcake book. She's just as sweet as ever, in this new reincarnation of the 80's classic, with her cheery personality and generous heart.
Strawberry Shortcake wants to give her friends the perfect gifts, but mishaps happen along the way. But she learns that friendship and love conquer all in this heartwarming story. This Christmas storybook will be a great read for children, because it illustrates the important of gift giving and the fact that it is always what's in your heart that counts.

3 comments about What Cats Want for Christmas.
- Nice pictures, really cute, but the text is just cruel bordering on creepy. With talk about making sweaters of Irish Setters, giving fleas to your neighbors and making a rug out of pomeranians and pugs the book just seems over the top and not for children. Yes, I know cats in general are merciless and would probably approve, however this is the stuff of nightmares for the child that understands the words. This is probably a fine gift for the cat lover with a black sense of humor.
- Nice illustrations and clever rhymes from the author of "The 12 Cats Of Christmas."
Author of "Hobo Finds A Home"
- I really liked this little story. While maybe not for all children, it truly is charming and more than likely captures the idea of what cats really do desire and want for Christmas. Anybody that knows and loves cats has to get this book! It is a quick read and will put a smile on the faces of young and old.

1 comments about Annabelle's Wish (Little Golden Book).
- In an age where children are coaxed by Sony Playstations, and the wintery outdoors; it's hard to find something simple that they can cuddle up with in the corner and quietly explore.
The story of Annabelle's Wish seems to facinate both younger children and more experienced level reader's. Because its from Golden Books interactive series the child could "sound off" characters at any point in the reading. The book offers large bold illustrations, a clever plot twist, and original narration. As all Christmas classics remind us, this book does make you think about the reason of the Season, and try to make your Heart feel warmer. It builds on the folklore of Santa giving the farm animals "voices" once a year on Christmas. And the friendship that builds between a mute boy and the calf, Annabelle, born on this Holiday. Although Tommy and Annabelle are its main characters, the storey is about more than the "special" gift they exchanged. It was about how others around them put aside their personal differences to come together in Friendship. Your child can easily relate to the animals and the frienships found in the storey. And if they understand what is being shown by "unselfish giving" recreate for your Family a special and powerful magic.

1 comments about Spunky's First Christmas (Spunky).
- My four-year-old loves this book--no matter what time of year it is. We read it together again and again, then we go back over every page to find the hidden bones. The adorable illustrations only enhance the story. This book is a sweet Christmas treat.

1 comments about Miracle On D-Roc's Street (Thugaboo).
- The storyline is fantastic! Although, the hip-hop lingo was a bit rough for me to read aloud to my children. I tried to get into character so my children would feel more involved with the storyline, it wasn't as easy as I had hoped... The hip-hop lingo is getting a little easier to speak aloud as I read the story more often to my children. Although, it'll be a relief when the DVD version comes out later this year.

1 comments about The Berenstain Bears Holiday Audio Collection.
- My kids love the Berenstain Bears and I was thrilled to read that Jan and Stan Berenstain actually read the stories on this CD. But, unfortunately, after enjoying the animated voices on the TV show so much, my boys were a little disappointed with the narration on the CD. It's touching to ME to know that these are the two people who created and wrote all of these great, touching stories, but that means nothing to my small kids and they just don't like the narration. It is a little flat compared to the voices on the TV show. Otherwise the stories are fantastic!

3 comments about The Christmas Ship.
- The Christmas Ship is not your typical children's Christmas story. Mr. Morrissey has gently pointed out that "stuff" isn't what is important in life. It is very easy for us to see the good in Sam and the children, but we are also shown the kind side of the mayor! Children will learn quite a bit from Mr. Morrissey. When they realize what it is that Sam leaves the Mayor for Christmas....well that's what Christmas is all about! I sure wish Sam lived in my neighborhood! And the paintings in this book are spectacular! Each page deserves to be framed and hung for display!
- This story is easily understandable and of a length that keeps children interested. Adults will also enjoy this book while reading it to "that special child." The lesson set forth in this story is an important one for the Christmas season. Mr. Morrissey's paintings are wonderful!! His attention to detail is incredible, done with care and perfection. The character of Sam Thatcher is especially authentic and recognizable. I am looking forward to the next Morrissey publication.
- The recommended age may be 5-10, but I have two and three year old boys that are crazy about this book. They love looking at the paintings and finding things in them (they are full of detail), they love asking about the story. Hardly a night goes by that they don't ask to read this book, in spite of having plenty of others to choose from.
As Christmas stories go, yes, it is predictable. However, I think 'How the Grinch...' and 'Frosty the Snowman' are pretty predictable, too, but that does not lessen the enjoyment kids will find in reading and re-reading them with their parents. Share this book with your little ones, and enjoy the intricate paintings along the way.
