1. This series of loose leaf folios is extreamly rare and almost never seen complete. This particular offering is the entire series - I thru VII - still in the envelpe that it was originally mailed in. The envelope has seen better days, but the pages of the folios are in excellent condition. 117 one sided pages in total.

   This offering covers many topics in weaving from coverlets to clothing to rugs. It would make an excellent basis for a Guild study group or for someone wishing to outfit their entire home (& self) in handwoven cloth.

Authors, weavers, and historians Gile and Marzolf examine the people and the social dynamics that have sustained the art of handweaving in Michigan and in America for over two centuries. A scattering of black-and-white and color photographs illustrate this grand tour of eclectic personalities, interviews, oral histories, the origin of the Michigan League of Handweavers, the "Fascination with Fiber" museum exhibit, and much more. Especially recommended for handweaving enthusiasts interested in learning the centuries of tradition supporting this creative and inclusive craft.

1. This is the best book of Chihuly works that I have seen. (I will assume some familiarity with the work of Dale Chihuly). Not only are the photos taken of my favourite Chihuly glassworks (the baskets), but the photos themselves are incredible. The photographer responsible for this book is incredible. The photos give a real impression of what it is like to see Chihuly glass live (and for anyone who hasn't, it is truly stunning to see). The baskets seem to be flexible in these photos, and not frozen, lifeless glass.

   The book includes a section of photos of actual baskets that inspired Chihuly. Although this section was less exciting for me, my fiancée found this part educational, it gave her an idea of what the artist had in mind when creating the glassworks. While the book is a bit expensive, when you see the size of these incredible photos, you will think it is worth it. My only complaint is that there could have been a few more photos.




2. Book in bad condition. Will definitely search for another. Was informed of some faults but not all. Happy to have in the mean time.
