4 comments about Addicted To Baskets.
- This book covers everything from choosing your reed to dying. It also includes easy to follow directions for different weaving patterns, as well as directions for 20 different baskets. It doesn't have an color pictures, but the diagrams are clear and concise. For someone, such as myself, who has almost no knowledge of basket weaving, this book is a great addition to my library.
- As an intermediate weaver, I would recommend this book to weavers from beginning to advanced. I especially liked the thorough diagrams, advice for dyeing, the nice borders, and, of course, the finished products. If you like original basketry, you'll love this book.
- I bought this book on the urging of a friend. I think that the information is really good but I don't feel that there's enough step by step information for the beginner. I do, however, like the great deal of helpful hints. I just wish that the technique section did not look like it was drawn on a very old computer. I find some of the techniques very hard to follow due to the lack of quality picts.
I especially don't like the basket designs. The book does not have a detailed (close up) photograph of the finished product. After weaving, you can't see enough detail to compare your work to the author's (other weavers). I prefer Lyn Siler books. They have a great deal more detail of the finished product.
- This book has fuzzy pictures, it seems to me hurridly written, with supposedly "original" baskets, but these baskets are the most common type with maybe one little difference to call it "original." I have made one basket from this book, just to get my money's worth, and the book is already falling apart. I have many basket weaving books, and this is probably my least favorite.

1 comments about The Tartan Weaver's Guide.
- If you are tired of trying to count threads in a prewoven tartan and trying to figure out how to weave that pattern--then this book is for you! Instead of wasting space providing unneeded full drafts, Mr. Scarlett provides 228 actual tartan thread counts. Accompanying text provides enough information for any weaver to start weaving authentic tartan patterns. If unfamiliar with 2/2 twills however, the weaver may need check another reference for the specific weaving draft (threading, tie-up and treadling) for twills.

5 comments about Toddler Adoption: The Weaver's Craft.
- I found this to be a great book. It really opened my eyes to what a toddler adoption could be like. I highly recommend it.
- Anyone thinking of a foreign adoption should read this book before beginning the adoption process! I feel better prepared for the toddler we plan to adopt, and I have a friend who decided to adopt only an infant after reading this book, because she felt she couldn't handle the difficulties that would come with a toddler - attachment problems, grief issues, etc. Adoption is much more difficult than I could have ever imagined, financially, emotionally, timewise, but I feel confident I can do it and feel like I've been given the information I need to be prepared for the difficulties I may experience - and hopefully I now will be pleasantly surprised instead of rudely awakened!
- This is a wonderful, intelligently written, informative book for anybody considering toddler adoption. The first hand experience of toddler adoption by the author links the concept to reality. I absolutely loved this book and would highly recommend it to all perspective adoptive parents.
- We are currently adopting a child out of the foster care system. I found this book to be very helpful. It has prepared me well to become a mom through adoption. I would recommend this book to anyone connected to a toddler adoption.
- This book as all books should be read and used as you feel it fits into your family. I loved it all and couldn't put it down. The author is realistic. Don't let this book convince you not to adopt and toddler. Use this wonderful book to consider carefully, learn about possibilities, and enter your adoption process fully aware. I think this book should be required reading before even thinking of adopting a toddler. The author is thoughtful and presents her points without emotional fluff. A great read.
